1061  Other / Meta / Re: [Question] What Areas are lacking in the forum? on: December 07, 2023, 11:00:30 PM
This thread was actually created for spackling the brains of people who would take their time to read through the content of the thread.
Let's say I like to be ration in thinking, most times people don't ask the real questions they just follow what the see without asking why do we follow such rules.
Most people have clearly pour out their minds to the real question and have really made some good points but some are just not really interested in the actual content.

~Edited out~
Your expression shows you have really noticed some kind of abnormality which most people sees normal. The freedom of speech seems to be limited to some point and maybe that's where you don't really comfortable with hence have spoken up but people don't really seems to understand your point but I perfectly do which I also appreciate for speaking out rather remain quite.

~Edited out~
You have a very good point here, I have really encounter such things but it seems to be normal but I totally disagree with such act of multiple accounts, the earlier they realize it the better for them.

To the OP, I think we are lacking in moderation somewhat. We have loads of new topics popping up in the gambling section that are just useless. They're obviously started to have more threads for people to hit their quotas, but they're just terrible topics. People also post them in the wrong sections and I get tired of reporting them.

This one of the reasons for this thread and i won't lock this thread for now for people who have such complains to be able to express themselves here. Such abnormalizsm exist in the gambling section but people do not complain but here you have made it clear and i believe if any mod comes across this they will look in to such issues.

I actually think that Theymos needs to appoint more staff members.

The current crop are doing a good job but many of them are getting overloaded, we can start with the moderator applications that have been placed here regarding local boards.
Your opinion is what consideration I also think about that alot maybe they are fewer and the job is now becoming hectic for them.

What I observed is that most people are creating alt account, and the forum is flooding everyday with new account with low quality post with high merit scores. And some people with high quality post don't get merit for that. Sometimes you will see some person who has 2000 activities with low merit scores like 40 and some people are just bearly 2 months old with not less than 60 activities with 150 merit and this things makes some people loose interest, without knowing that those account are alt account which the owner is pumping merit on it. and intermediating others as if they are not trying there best to make quality Post.

Some country don't have a good merit source and they hardly grow in rank. While some are not fluent in English and they are traped in local board parhaps they are making quality post, but no one is recognising them. So this things can make people loose interest in what dey do.

Perhaps they are unfortunate for now but in less then no time they will be recognized and push to where are supposed to be.
I also appreciate your sincerity
1062  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can happen next time due to a lack of proper knowledge about Bitcoin? on: December 07, 2023, 09:58:32 PM
I have seen the same thing in different places and it's sad that there's just a lot of gullible people that are being roamed around by these fraud people.
While I understand that with all the stupidity that the gullible people does, well to be fair I am one of them before but experience have thought me toughly on this regard.
Most times the cause of such loss is usually as a result of greed, at the time this so called gullible people seek to venture into a new thing they usually want the best out of it instead of laying low or having patience to grow in knowledge gradually they hasten to be as successful as the icons which lead them to the paradigm. As such allowing themselves to be deceived by big promises which seems to be impossible to achieve yet they believe in it.
This greed usually leads to being in a haste to profit not just little but so big. you cannot invest in Bitcoin and expect a 10x profit in 24hrs or less as the frauds usually promises the gullible people that if you invest a $100 in less than 24hrs the expert trader will give a return of $500 - $1000. at this point even if someone genuinely tries to let them know the truth that Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme they usually don't believe.

it's sad but every adult is responsible for their decision. letting yourself get used is probably your fault because you fail to ask questions, like why can't you that promised this can of success make use of it yourself? and also forgot that nothing good comes easily. hope experience have done it's best on you. now.

There is no doubt that the forum  dislike the standard banking , but it could be getting in the way of a balanced view.
This statement is quit wrong the forum doesn't dislike the bank but doesn't vibe with the activities of the traditional banks as a result of it serving as an agency and/or institution for control of the governments. the forum doesn't disregard or undermine the services which they render but fran at the outrageous cost of services which they render. you might be saying this from your subjective reality based on what you have read or seen people in the forum talked about traditional banks but is an illusion of hatred created by those who have lost to this traditional banks.

Even though banks have problems, they have been very important in creating our economy. They make deals easier and keep the economy going, but they also let the government keep an eye on things, which is an important point that we cant miss.
You are contradicting everything you have said, the problem itself is what you tag as help/solution which they offer. though banks makes things easy through fiat in the current situation of buying and selling since Bitcoin is not yet recognized currency in some countries but serving as an eye to the government is what I don't appreciate about traditional banks they create a scenerio where people can be manipulated by the government, by taking away their financial freedom which Satoshi created Bitcoin for to elevate people from central control of government.

For example, Bitcoin gives us more control over our money, but it also has some problems, like instability, unsure rules, and so on.
Yes Bitcoin gives full control over our money which is was the aim/goal of satoshi in creating bitcoin. the volatility of Bitcoin is not a problem rather its another opportunity which most people like me and others are benefiting from right now by buying and holding for long term and profiting during the bull run.

We should focus on using its strengths while also being aware of its weaknesses and the fact that standard banking systems will still be needed in the future.
Even though banks will be needed in future it won't be for the same reason the governments wanted it for, it will take a new shape either by adopting Bitcoin or being a face to face bank rather completely detached institutions as it is right now for people to have trust in them.

~edited out~
It takes patience in teaching about Bitcoin to people who don't understand anything about Bitcoin,
i also think it depends a lot on how we teach bitcoin in my case i have encountered cryptocurrency two times the first time no one really explained to me what was cryptocurrency or what was bitcoin they just pushed me into the world of crypto and told me to do this and that which made me lose interest i didn’t study much about it and everytime i have to look at a market i get bored and discouraged

but someone else patiently taught me about bitcoin carefully and in detail
they also introduced me to this forum which allowed me to study further about bitcoin specifically
seeing all the members of this forum made me realize the importance and the benefits of bitcoin because of the posts i read in here which really showed me the impact bitcoin has
The truth is not everyone knows how to teach, some people just talk to you about things and let you find out the rest yourself but some may go into details to teach you gradually, step by step. this are the two categories of teachers. so the first person you introduce you to Bitcoin might be from the first category that only introduces the pupils to the matter or course and let them find out things themselves but the second you took time to put you through falls in the second category.

The first category of teaches always lead to discouragement sometimes but it makes their students learn fasted and harder, we can't expect everyone to be the same but congratulations you found the forum where have learnt alot just as I am learning right now.

4: I have seen among my acquaintances who still cannot fully trust the bank (banking is some kind of rigging or fraud) and therefore leave their valuable assets (gold or money) on their own instead of depositing them in the bank. For those who do not believe in banks, how exactly will they accept this currency system?.
Before these days that Bitcoin as the first crypto currency came in existence, there had been functionable means of the of the Fiats and people doesn't just have it a  choice of earning and luring with no doubts of its operational system.
The truth is that something already existing would only be valueless to the usage of people at when only a more better option is invented then doubts and and excuses began to come towards the formal existence.
This is exactly how Bitcoin has come to distabilize the fiat currency because the potential qualities of Bitcoin is beyond the utilization of the fiats.
Bitcoin could succeedingly surpassed the fiat as an exchange not only because it is a global accepted digital currency but also the potentialities to creating of wealths including its potentials to hodl a long-term and the short-term investment.
Bitcoin is indeed tenderly taking the fiats to exticrii
Though Bitcoin has come a long way in helping both the status quo poor people and status quo rich people who saw the advantages of Bitcoin but in comparison to fiat as Bitcoin is taking a global acceptance it's not what digging too much about, in a far or near future Bitcoin will be a generally accepted currency both in the rural and urban areas but in the main time it's still going to work Vice Viz with fiat and banks are going to gradually adopt it to there system.
1063  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Ugh! How do you send Lightning through Electrum mobile wallet? on: December 07, 2023, 02:26:08 PM

I did, trust me. As well as spent a considerable amount of time Googling. But I'm failing to get it...hence he "ugh" in the title. I believe that guide is for desktop Electrum wallet. I'm trying to do it from the mobile version (which is significantly different).

And also, do I need a whole instructions manual just to purchase/send Lightning (considering I already got btc in an Electrum wallet)? I get the concept of Lightning and how it works so not trying to go into that. Just wanna buy this damn thing. Can't be more that 5 steps! 😕

Maybe it was hard for you to understand the guide because images are disabled, I have repair the images for you to comprehend more

2. Creating a payment channel

Payment channels related options are available under 'Channels' tab which is hidden by default. You can enable it by going to 'View -> Show Channels'

In the 'Channels' tab there are two available options. 'Swap' allows to exchange on-chain coins for an LN incoming payment and vice-versa. 'Open Channel' allows you to create a new payment channel. Click on that option.

By default, Electrum does not download the network graph and delegates path estimation to special trampoline nodes to which only you can connect. If you want to open a channel to any Lightning node, see Disabling Trampoline routing.

As for now, there are three hard-coded trampoline nodes: ACINQ, Electrum and Hodlister which you can choose from the drop down list. The minimum funding value is 0.002 BTC.

Next, you have to select the funding transaction fee. If the transaction is not confirmed within 24 hours, the channel won't be created. It is another hard-coded value.

You might encounter these two errors when opening a channel, the former was mentioned above. The latter is other node's fault. Choose a different node if it happens.

Your payment channel will become active once your transaction reaches 3 confirmations.

For mobile you can try this
~snip~

I practically do not know how to use the lightning network. I will like your help. How will I set up a channel? Can I set up the channel on electrum wallet directly?

I never tried to set up a channel on Electrum mobile but you can try it your self.

Gossip, nodes, Channels and pending will not show any info if the LN is not yet enabled.

To enable the LN you need to click the name of your wallet and it will show something like this below.

After enabling the LN status is online

If you are going to make your own channel try this.
Tap the 3 dots then go to channels and tap the new button. If the button is not working I think you must have a minimum 0.003 to be able to make a new channel.

I believe it you add the details from the desktop description you will find it easier to create it on mobile. This will work I guess......
1064  Other / Meta / [Question] What Areas are lacking in the forum? on: December 06, 2023, 04:05:05 PM
Disclaimer: This not an argument thread but all opinions   counts

I noticed some people are no longer active, some are active once in while though they hold positions in the forum which they are supposed to be puting things in order.
I'm concerned about the wellness of the forum, so I see new generation of people ranking up but are more concerned on what they benefit from the forum rather than what they claim to be interested in helping in the forum. Although in some point of view they might be helping but just in a minor way that may seem to be common.

Since there are few of us that are willing to render help we (Me in particular) want to know if there are areas which you believe is lacking attention that people like the new hard working members can actually take care of because this forum have lasted for a decade and more I believe some areas might be slacking gradually but seems to be fine.

This thread may not be necessary to some people but one unnecessary question can trigger a good rethink and lot of opinion on how the forum can take a new shape.

what do you all think about finding areas that are not really doing good and act on it. also give opinion on how you think new members can rather help in the forum.

I'm not too aquatinted with wallet knowledge so I tried to study more on it because of your questions.

But it seems you have ask lots of questions too in the past which I read through it has most of the answers to your questions in this thread, in this thread of yours Electrum Wallet Bitcoin Security Precautions @pooya87 and others gave some answers that might relate to the questions in this thread too.
But am still reading to find more answers.

The only thing I know right now is your advised to store your crypto assets in an offline/cold storage system or airgapped computer that must not connect to the internet in order to be safe, that's what I have learnt from my research. And you too should start doing more research
1067  Other / Meta / Re: Made a discovery on: December 04, 2023, 06:43:54 PM
Yes the format of the forum is quite old but it uses the HTML code for writing which equally means you can input all kind of emojis to the forum but it may not show in the preview but will show when posted because it in a HTML code.
Here is an example:

If you can actually input the HTML code of the emoji then it will show when posted the only weird thing is why is it not showing in preview? Which I may not be able to answer.

All of us knows that, the forum is quite old. And the SMF version it uses is also quite old. So it has a lot of modern day features missing. As an example, modern day emojis. The forum does have some emojis, but not enough. Despite this, many users are using emojis. So how do they do it? I tried to check it by quoting what they wrote. And I found nothing, it was just a basic emoji.

Just wanted to point out that the "emoji" that the forum has is called smileys.
Those are texts that the forum translate in to a preset image. It is different from the emoji that we have on our phone keyboard.

Correct me if I'm wrong.  Cheesy
It not different from the one we have in our phone keyboard, if you know the HTML code for it then you can write or input the emoji anywhere in the forum like the image I uploaded above.
1068  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Include Or Always Include Gambling In Your New Year's Resolution on: December 04, 2023, 03:14:59 PM
In the main time I haven't concluded my results for 2023 so before I will make a new year resolution, I will have to check back and front where I did well and where I didn't do too good. Then just include the less accomplished in the new year resolution. For gambling I got a little result in performs how I gambled, my skills in gambling are very minimal so my next resolution might include to improve my skill in gambling
1069  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do not take address poisoning as a joke, it is real. on: December 04, 2023, 08:37:01 AM
Thanks for the information it's very necessary for users to know about this because it occurs without there notice.

Just as Ever_young once said that clipboard virus also has some effect on crypto loss. I think some of the users who where scammed may be as a result of this clipboard virus that one sends crypto to a different wallet thinking that its there own address.
1070  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: December 04, 2023, 01:31:58 AM
Sure.. no problem.. but still how you going to guide people with "just say no to shitcoins.".. even though frequently I do say fuck shitcoins, but if you are going to do them, no more than 10% or the size of your bitcoin investment... and whatever, you can tell people whatever you like and I don't feel like I am encouraging them.. because I do also say stay away from shitcoins.. and also there are some people who are very poor.. like $10 per week or even some low amounts and they are wanting to divide to do part in bitcoin and part in shitcoins... so yeah.. are they going to listen?  I am not sure... I mostly think that they won't but it is better to say something than not to say anything at all.. even though some people are not even going to be receptive to listening anyhow.. so they might even be more of a lost cause and just have to learn through their experiences.
The fact that you clarified the situation of shitcoins investment has taught me alot, to buttress if anyone wishes to invest in shitcoins s/he should invest only least less than 10% which means if someone can actually afford to involve in shitcoins it shouldn't be an amount that is greater than nor half neither quarter of his/her investment in Bitcoin. Moreso, s/he must be well accountable for his or her action. I also observed that the example was meant for those who would constantly refuse advise not to get involved with shitcoins but since they maybe not be able to harken to advises its better to devices a means to reduce the out come of regret in their action. at the end it all boils down to say that one should try as much as possible to avoid shitcoins.

but since we are considering longer term considerations in this thread, many of us already seemed to planned to not sell in the short-term - even though it is difficult to talk for everyone
I agree with you, my focus is on the right time to buy, not on the right time to sell right now. Just like the topic of this discussion, "Buy the DIP, and HODL!" that is what I want to do, and I regularly check this place to see the strategies people here are using to get more bitcoins, so I can learn, I do not want to learn about selling.
Because our focus is long-term with a slightly longer duration so that when the temporary increase that is happening now does not really have any impact on the confidence we have but on the other hand when other people are selling now I don't think it can be said to be wrong either (although this is not really in accordance with the criteria for long-term investment) but because they already feel profitable with what they have then it is indeed back to themselves whether they sell or not because if they do sell it means that their target is indeed here for sales.
It's just advice when you sell at the current price and when you release the bitcoin you have sometimes you can't buy it back because of the price so this needs to be thought out more carefully for those who are selling at this time unless they want to wait longer to get bitcoin back at a cheaper price which in my opinion that way is not worth it when you have to wait for bitcoin to have problems again because now it doesn't seem like the time for that because bitcoin is still bullish.
This is the problem of investors because what needs to be realised is not buying and selling but our strength in holding which sometimes in this phase we always fail.
I couldn't comprehend the point you're trying to foster well enough @red4slash but to digress the whole point you might be trying to say.
@Queentoshi you do not need a perfect time to invest in Bitcoin based on what I have learnt here in this thread, every time is always the time to buy, you might be waiting to a bearish market when you have the capital to invest but it may not come. So that is why the DCA method of accumulation was introduced in order for anyone not to miss out the opportunity while waiting for the perfect time to buy.
Even outside the forum time waits for nobody, most people do say opportunities don't come you create opportunities by investing when you have, you stand to chance of not missing out but when you wait for a time to come which may not come you can eventually miss what is important to you. So do not wait for the right time to come before you invest, start where you can, start now, today hence you don't miss your chances because emergencies can take up the said capital you wish to invest in Bitcoin do it now not later.

Quote
We should never be tired of educating people on the need to remain focused on Bitcoin which is safer and have been around before these numerous coins that are mostly built on nothing.

Yeah, that's right, but not all of them will take the advice of only investing in Bitcoin. Some will still end up putting their money into some altcoins, and it's after they have been disappointed and their money has been lost that they will begin to feel regretful.
It's true people hardly listen to good advise of this nature hence I believe every one has the right to make decisions but after making such decision they shouldn't cry out to anyone that they lots their money in shitcoins because not even me nor you will be ready to listen to such trash.

1072  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CryptoSteel - for Seed Phrase and Password Storage on: December 03, 2023, 06:02:39 PM
You have mention the above characteristics of the crypto steel but what about RUST ? Is there any guarantee that it can get rust ?
Are you familiar with the basics of chemistry? How do you imagine rust forming on stainless steel?
I may not be familiar with the basics of chemistry but can you prove that rust does not form on stainless steel?
Here is an image of a rusted steel bolt so does that not show that what feel is safer may not be safe as you speculate?
Let's say I like to be rational because everything that has advantages also has disadvantages, but the so called reason for asking such question in the first place to reduce the illusion created around crypto steels.
May be everyone likes to agree to ideas but I disagree with some ideas to make sure we disagree and then agree on one thing to make a fact solid.
@m2017 you may be more experienced than I am in the forum but have you considered the person behind the name and the rank in the forum? A professor could be making a point but because his low in rank does not mean he or she doesn't know what his saying. Boiling down to the end of the matter one can by such act of disagreeing make others go to make more research and find a more safer ways to safe guiding one's BTC hence not just relaying on one proclaim solution.

Even when kept in a stuffy place it can get heat and by contacting with each surface can get rusted.
Then don't store in a stuffy place and fill the cryptosteel container with machine oil or something like that (not flammable). If you don't know, rust (oxide) forms when it comes into contact with oxygen (the oil will prevent this from happening).
Okay you finally agree that stainless steels could get rust but can be prevented with oil So what exactly brought out the idea of applying oil to the cryptosteel to prevent rust? was it not my low experienced question ?. Hope you see the prove of what I'm trying to impact rationality makes a fact solid.
1073  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you sell your bitcoin to blackrock? on: December 02, 2023, 08:59:26 PM
This requires a rational thinking, you have to think more than twice lol  Wink

If I sell at the price of $100k/or$1 million to them can I still buy another one with that $100k/or$1 million ? If yes then I will sell to them and immediately buy  another. But if No then won't sell because surely nobody buys any thing to loss it always for profit reasons hence for that same reason wouldn't sell.
1074  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Parental Guild on Bitcoin on: December 02, 2023, 06:22:53 PM

Parental Guild on Bitcoin

I have observe that there is no parental guide to buying and selling of Bitcoin. However, some central exchangers do put age restriction if you want to buy/sell digital currencies and some do not see the need to do so. <.........> I do encourage parents to buy BTC in smaller amounts for their kids that's depends on how they can afford. One of the most likely challenge is how a parent can communicate to the child on the usage, what BTC entails and how to secure there funds.
In as much as there is no parental control in buying and selling of Bitcoin it's still limited to some extent, the classification ladder we have two major societal class the Adults and the minor hence it all depends on where you live, in some countries one is allowed to carry out whatsoever he or she wishes to do at the age of 18 and above while some are 16 or less. with this age differentiation some exchanges uses the KYC which also requires age before you can have some certain qualifications that will be used for verification hence through this age limitation has been brought in consciously or subconsciously/ with or without their notice.

Buying Bitcoin for a kid is quite confusing because the age which you are talking about should be specific, a child of 1-10 or 11 - 16 or above or less is what any parents should considered, of what necessity is buying Bitcoin for a child for? except it's an investment in their future just as parents do save money for their kids. If you where talking about saving money for children in Bitcoin that's quite convincing but trying to communicate what bitcoin entails and it's usage is not really relevant because I do say this alot that teaching children about bitcoin is not healthy for me, I do say that let children be children let us not border children with the knowledge of Bitcoin.

I have put in written form some ways I can communicate this;

BTC is real and it is money in digital format. You can access it anywhere in the world and convert it to local currency to be use for purchase. Bitcoin is own and control by individuals who uses the internet for access and can do it using Laptop, Phones, tablet etc. Bitcoin is stored in Wallet which has its own unique key or addresses. Buying and selling of Bitcoin is legitimate but there are restriction in some countries and there is also risk involve. You can actually trade bitcoin too but I will not want you to because you need the right knowledge to do so if not you will lose all of it. Bitcoin has lot of benefit but should not be use as a game and get rich quick. You should also no share you password or personal key to anyone as it you funds can be withdrawn without your notice.

In as much as no knowledge is a waste teaching children about bitcoin is not healthy enough in my opinion, why not teach them about the whole concept of money and not Bitcoin that is way beyond their understanding, because if they don't know how to handle their finances, then knowing Bitcoin is useless already. it's better not to even border children with Bitcoin knowledge than teach them what they can use a the moment and thereby leaving them with incomplete knowledge.

Few Questions I will like to get you own input on

Is buying Bitcoin or cryptocurrency good for Kids?

Buying Bitcoin can be good idea if its sort as investment in there future as I have said above.

How do you teach a kid to secure Bitcoin incase you are not there?
I wouldn't teach a child how to secure bitcoin but an adult that would be capable of making good decision or at least a teenager.

Should authorities or agencies place age restriction on owning Bitcoin?
Since there are no restrictions in age for owning money why would there be restrictions on owning Bitcoin? whereas Bitcoin is a decentralized currency that can't be controlled by any authority which is the goal of Satoshi Nakamoto in creating bitcoin. Not even government can make decisions for Bitcoin so no agency can make any restrictions on what one should do concerning Bitcoin ownership.
1075  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can happen next time due to a lack of proper knowledge about Bitcoin? on: December 02, 2023, 12:30:52 AM
The banking system has disappointed people in many ways. In the last economic crisis, the banks were bailed out with taxpayer money, and we were left with that money. This is unfair, and it shows that banks do not value people. We gave them a chance, but they abused our trust. It's time to let them take care of themselves. We will not forget what they did, and we will not give them a second chance.
No matter what we think or say about them, we are going to need both fiat currencies and banks until Bitcoin is usable more as a currency or a payment method than an investment asset because we have no choice. We love Bitcoin, and we want it to stay around forever and keep serving the properties that it has to us but we also can't deny the fact that we currently need money, in our local currencies, to be used for our expenses since Bitcoin isn't accepted everywhere in the world right now.

So, the rage and the hatred towards banks and traditional financial institutions are all useless for now because whether we accept it or not, we are all using them for our daily needs at the moment, and I believe we should wait for the time when we can finally say that we don't need their services at all and then say whatever we want about them and that will be fair and have no hypocrisy from our side at all.
In as much as I agree with you that traditional banks and it's services are currently important, I also will want to  know you that the hatred for financial institutions here in the forum has created an illusion that this traditional banks are absolutely useless or it services are not important which is wrong but I will definitely not dispute the fact that they really offered alot of help as third parties in our various countries and life in general though they may have lost trust but still doesn't warrant the absolutely hatred on them.

The governments uses this banks a means to control the entire operation of citizens that is exactly where there is slack in the banking system but cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin and shitcoins) are here to fell up this gaps that banks has open in the hearts of citizens to elevate us from central control of the government and set financial freedom to all who grabs the opportunity.

Banks will only be less useful in future and this future may be centenary or more because it will take alot of time to reach the point which banks won't be needed. maybe it will still be needed but in a different manner, maybe it will require people to have contact with their third parties not the completely detached institutions that operate now. for the fact that this future is not yet here we don't need to overemphasize on the hatred but can grab the opportunity that bitcoin has brought to our table.
1076  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dollar Cost Averaging with costavg.com include exchange fee on: December 01, 2023, 11:01:11 PM
DCA is an excellent strategy and achieves a good return on investment, but it is not the best strategy for all times.
There are 3 (three) different strategies and more that has been mention in this thread if you have read through or at least a little of the pages, this strategies include (Dollar cost averaging, Buying in the dips and lup sum buying) but the most convenient of all is DCA because of its time management factor, consistency that guarantees no chances of missing out the benefits of Bitcoin and last but not the least, the fact that it allows you to take care of other bills at the same time making investment too.
In this different strategies it all depends on the one that suits you more, if you get income on a salary or wages level you can consider DCA or if you hit your income once in a period you can consider lump sum or buying on the dips.
Nobody said dollar cost averaging is the best at all times but the best compared to other strategies.

What about when you send the btc to a wallet which also cost fees?  How you use calculate for that?
The way to calculate for using the DCA method is by increasing your investment amount maybe if you usually invest $50 for example on a weekly basis you can increase with $1 or more depending on the transaction fee in order to maintain your set amount of accumulation but if you can't afford to pay for this fees you can use exchanges that offer lesser fees but it only requires you patients. though there are transaction accelerators that can increase the speed of your transaction when you pay less fees but at least in all you still have to DCA no matter the circumstances.
1077  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CryptoSteel - for Seed Phrase and Password Storage on: December 01, 2023, 09:54:02 PM
The shot above is a cryptosteel, it can be used to safely and securely store bitcoin wallet seed phrases, as well as passwords, this device is made of 303 and 304 stainless steel, and it is both waterproof, fireproof and shockproof, it is one the best device to own as a bitcoiner and a crypto enthusiast.
You have mention the above characteristics of the crypto steel but what about RUST ? Is there any guarantee that it can get rust ? Even when kept in a stuffy place it can get heat and by contacting with each surface can get rusted. The fact is there are varieties of ways yo keep your asset safe it all depends on own view, what can be safe for you might not be safe for me.

For newbies they can explore as many as they can in keeping there assets safe.

It's quiet not relevant to buy a cryptosteel for security and privacy when you don't even have enough bitcoin to secure. Lol  Smiley

Idea and money work Viz vice. They are two paramount things that accomplished a business or investment, but note that each can stand on its own. For instance; You could have money yet no idea and you can have an idea but no money (capital), what is really important is you should at least have one. when you have money (Capital) but no idea (like the rich people who inherit wealth) you can ask people for idea or even employ people who have ideas but no money.
Or you can have idea but no money (capital) hence raise funds from volunteers and you will still be successful there are people who are will to invest in someone who has great ideas out there. but it's easy when you have both to be successful.

A person should be independent in regarding the investments plans.

If he really wants to invest in he has a better portfolio and want to gain his portfolio even he has all the resources then he must be independent in this case if he can really start a business with his own money.

But if a person who didn't have a good capital and he is frightened from losing the money then he may be Collab's with those who have some great ideas and who can make his challenge to the next level in this way.
I would love you to re-read what you wrote!

But in the main time, for anyone to make investment it doesn't matter the independence of the person but what is really required is the goal or the bigger picture, as far as there is an urge for wealth increment then the capital and the idea must come based on what I said earlier you don't need to have the capital before you start or you don't need to have the idea yourself before you make an investment.

From what I have learnt from @franky1 investment can only be made to an already existing idea or business so for anyone to invest you do need an already existing plan.
Developing a new idea is equally not investing but generating Capital.

Anonymity is what we always preach, not even social medias requires KYC except you have anything to do with monetization that will require such.

I have seen a very few people talk of KYC in the forum and I do really know why it's important to them including you.

But will surely say that it's not necessary except you have a plan of becoming the government which everyone is here pissed of.
