1062  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustabit – The original crash game on: November 07, 2023, 11:35:35 AM
With a large volume of the bankroll removed last evening ~400BTC, my investment stake in bustabit has gone up by a teeny weeny percentage and I feel happily bloated about it. Grin

It has been a a couple of days more than a week and I have managed to recover 75% of the investment fee and hopefully by next week I should be able to go into a net positive income.

Thanks to Daniel and Ryan and the rest of the fellow investors in keeping the site alive. Wink
1063  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase delisting BSV :) on: November 07, 2023, 11:30:32 AM
I had forgotten about this coin, I remember they made some threads pop out here after Bitcoin cash and Bitcoin gold were launched and attempted to keep up with the hype.

Not willing to stoke fire to the faketoshi side of things again, I think they will come into some small cap shady exchange in order to keep their communities running. So a win from the good side for the good over evil but evil will continue to lurk in the dark. Those who are willing to get into their ideology should be cautious before investing money on their coin.
1064  Local / India / Re: Discussing about Bitcoin to Friends and Relatives. on: November 06, 2023, 04:38:27 PM
And that's what makes bitcoin. The freedom from government and the ability to control your own money.
With great power comes great responsibility. Owning bitcoin has it's associated risks which people forget about.
This negligence costs them a lot sometimes and that is why we have to make people aware of the risks first if we suggest them to buy bitcoin.
Wallet and device security is what I emphasize on for any new user in this field. Without them your hard-earned money is open and lit up like a Christmas tree. But a newcomer might not be able to cope up with this pressure of cyber-security which we cannot comprehend. In case they lose money they will blame it on the person who introduced it to them.

-snip-
I dont feel like bragging but since you brought it up, I come from a work background which is very non-technological and I am an old school jerk, but I am into crypto for like 7years now.
1065  Economy / Speculation / Re: The crypto market has changed and I think its a sign of mass adoption on: November 06, 2023, 04:33:45 PM
This is something I have been noticing more lately, years ago it was unheard of to see people talking about this market or wearing a shirt with a bitcoin logo, but I have noticed this has changed and it is happening more and more often, however to my surprise meme coins are the most common topic of conversation I hear related to this market, so I expect that during the next bull market useless coins like that will perform great for a time only to collapse at an amazing speed, and most of those people will lose their money and even the interest they had on this market.
Meme coins are there and they bring some negative points to cryptocurrency in their game against fiat. Bitcoin on the other hand does not need that publicity or the flashy apps and ads to market itself, its prices forces people to start buying it.

For those who are in it for quick gains the chances they will shove BTC aside and go for memecoins is way more and these people are the majority of newcomers and the future outcome is that they will fail. But the other group is here for long term and that with bitcoin - these people help in the adoption and growth of price.
1066  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Withdraw to BTC Adresses started by 1 (Imperfect Information?) on: November 06, 2023, 04:24:15 PM
If it says that it supports all types of BTC addresses, then it should. Best way to know is to test it yourself read the FAQ for the similar question or ask the support system of that exchange since you are not willing to share the names of any.

Would not say that it is any "mis"-information unless you have tried.

Good luck and I hope you get your money quick and easily in your wallet.
1067  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have your own casino. on: November 06, 2023, 04:19:11 PM
If I'm not wrong, Money Pot was the name of the business that used to do this. They used to offer the API and users had the option to build their own casinos without bankroll. I Know 2 guys who used that service in the past and was a nice option because the money comes from investors, so, this way anyone can be the house and have its own engine.

So, i would love to see a service like that coming back in the future.
Thats how bustabit came into existence right? It was originally called MoneyPot, then Bustabit and now Bustabit 2.0 owned by Daniel (devans) and Ryan, and another site called Money Pot is running with leomedina as the owner.

I am currently invested in bustabit and would love to invest in a casino that seoincorporation comes up with once I am satisfied with the player base. It is the closest we can be to live our Vegas dreams and profit from the same. Grin
1068  Local / India / Re: Discussing about Bitcoin to Friends and Relatives. on: November 05, 2023, 06:08:39 AM
Yes, bitcoin is risky but so is every other asset. It's just the amount of risk is higher when investing in bitcoin because it is not regulated by any single government.
A government may attempt to curb bitcoin but they know its futile - look at Bangladesh and Nigeria and how people are evading bans on bitcoin there. These countries have the highest amount of campaign participants in this forum and are earning well which itself is a form of investment into bitcoin.

Still government's non-lenience is a negative factor, a deterrent from people openly investing into bitcoin, but these will change gradually and by not starting early they will be the ones missing out. Dont force them but allow them to understand their actions.
1069  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: November 05, 2023, 05:52:57 AM
What I mean is that if you have 0.3 BTC today , it's the money you've won back then. If not for that win, you wouldn't have it right now, right? 10 grands is 10 grands, Congrats again, mate!
The amount is huge today because that amount of bitcoin back then was only 200$ but its gone 6x and thus the fiat value has increased again courtesy of bitcoin's price rise.

Quote
I'm wondering how much it will be one day in the future, $200 in BTC now? $2k? Maybe more? Freebitcoin is a fantastic place. You can win that much in one roll and it's free.
Hence make sure to stash more bitcoins and use their 4.08% investment scheme more often to grow your coins that you can spare, no one knows how big even a single satoshi might become in future.

Still I have not been able to replicate a similar winning again now.
1070  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have your own casino. on: November 05, 2023, 05:38:41 AM
I have always wanted to be the casino owner and feel like Eddie, Stunna or Trump for a change. Something like that Vegas Mafia riding a lambo with a black suit and girls. Grin

But we can still relieve it in a part as an casino bankroll investor. A discreet method to be a partial owner of a well-reputed casino with no headaches regarding the technical side of setting up a casino. You set it up and I will fund it.

Currently I am investing in at least two of such casinos, it was more advertised in the older casinos, recent ones dont take interest in it. Sad

Dont forget that the only long term winners in casino are the casino owners/investors and affiliate marketers, not the players.
1071  Other / Meta / Re: Services board is very hard to browse on: November 05, 2023, 05:31:16 AM
My motion on this will be a "No".

Hiring participants in a signature campaign is correctly in that section along with people offering their services. New posts in the campaign threads are always vital information and by no means they are burying other people's threads. It is just how a forum works.

Exchanges, Mixers use the Service Announcements section but freelancing jobs should be in Services itself.
1072  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is It Late To Invest In Bitcoin? on: November 04, 2023, 01:11:09 PM
I'm so pathetic and depressed because I didn't know Bitcoin quickly. What should I do? Cry
You are a college student and if you are depressed just be seeing stuff like this on the internet, then you need serious help.

Bitcoin has been here for long but by the time people can put enough money in it, the price has gone up - you are not alone, 99% of the members in this forum have been through the same. The point is that you are currently in a stage in your life where you can make big changes in your career, so focus on that. Side by side start learning about bitcoin and how you can use your skills to gradually start getting paid with bitcoin.

This forum has a variety of services being paid in bitcoin. Once you start earning for yourself, you can decide on buying bitcoin yourself too.

So much of the world you have not seen or experienced, and you feel bad seeing some youtuber? Shun them and move on.
1073  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 93 Percent of all Bitcoin Has Been Mined on: November 04, 2023, 01:00:33 PM
This is good for BTC or bad?
Its the process of how bitcoin is mined and its timeline in the future. Nothing good or bad.

Long term holding for bitcoin, you could say would not have a detrimental effect on the value at the time of investment. However by the time all bitcoins are mined, most of us at this point would have already passed away. So the OP emphasized on the idea of accumulating bitcoin not just for ourselves by our next of kin.

Better to enjoy your time here and continue to gather bitcoins because nobody know what next pandemic is awaiting us.
1074  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Spirituality and Betting - Do they Have any Connection? on: November 04, 2023, 12:31:25 PM
I'm not sure any god has ever said "though shall not gamble".
The holy texts are written by mortal humans and they are ones where gambling or games of chance have been condemned.

It is a simple method to control the risk taking attitude of humans since their evolution and time on earth. It shows that even back in the past addiction to gambling was common and problems tend to encroach the religious leaders since there were less knowledge about the treatment of the same through professional help.

It all comes down to moderation which I have said in other threads. Be realistic about your games and dont get obsessed over it.
1075  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Nigeria socialite went all in on this sport bet on: November 04, 2023, 12:26:43 PM
It is actually some kind of a sin to some countries or religion. It can cause a problem to them if they still insist to gamble and won't be careful about their activity. For the other religion or countries, they may allow gambling but people must still be careful. It's for their own safety and also gambling causes a person to become addicted on it.
That is the simple way to explain why gambling has been abhorred by religions across centuries and why it still continues to plague some families. It ends up being a problem of the family and they need professional help which could be prevented if steps were taken some time back.

However, the gambling tendency comes from certain mindsets like personality traits and hence it tends to influence people from a younger age if they are exposed to such content. It all comes down to how much people are mature enough to process a certain thing they read about on social media. Knowing that the major earners from gambling are its owners and affiliate marketers, it should make the readers cautious before stepping in.
1076  Local / India / Re: Discussing about Bitcoin to Friends and Relatives. on: November 03, 2023, 05:25:11 PM
This way, I can preserve the integrity of my personal relationships and ensure that financial decisions are made with full awareness and consent.
A very important point indeed. You can end up damaging interpersonal relations if you pressurize them, which is absolutely meaningless to do anyway. They may have a different mindset and an opinion that you might not agree on and you have to respect that because they are respecting yours.

Quote
Mixing relations and finance will always go wrong in my assumption so I won't put myself in such position. I believe that financial decisions, especially investments, should be made based on the individual goals, risk tolerance, and understanding.
Risk appetite is not the same for everyone and knowledge lacking might contribute to that. That can be countered by teaching and allowing them to take the first initiative as they gradually see the buzzwords on media more and more.
1077  Other / Meta / Re: I raise a motion to create a board where health issues can be discussed. on: November 03, 2023, 05:09:00 PM
For casual health discussion, you can still use the off-topic board.
In fact during the pandemic so much misinformation in that board made me think that we should rename it (unofficially of course) as Health discussion board.

Coming back to the OP, the reason for an Off-topic section in a forum is for all those topics that are not under the purview of the forum itself but are being raised for discussions among members. Since this forum is about bitcoin, topics on health come under Offtopic and like many others have posted, there are health related forums out there if you search around a bit.

For serious health issues though, rush to your nearest ER.
1078  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Will it affect you in any way if Binance completely shuts down ? on: November 03, 2023, 05:00:27 PM
Will it affect you in any way if Binance completely shuts down ? I know there will be lot of devastating affects on crypto market of this incidence like bitcoin price will fall very sharply. Many users will also loose funds and some will loose faith on crypto.
If your context is exchanges shutting down or getting hacked, the simple solution is not to use that exchange as a wallet which several people have done before and the habit has not changed yet. Only keep funds that are locked up in trades over there and do review those trades in case they are keep unfilled for long.

Once you are trusting a centralized exchange with your money you have no other option. Its a necessary evil and yet it will affect many people if a exchange like Binance shuts down.

I will be sure to buy BTC at a discount when that happens. Grin
1079  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible to build a career with bitcoin? on: November 03, 2023, 04:51:55 PM
Furthermore, OP should look for a job or business, where he can build a career instead of thinking he can make money in bitcoin without doing another job . I have yet to see anyone who can survive just by investing in bitcoin without having a main job.
The main reason why someone would ask this question is to evade that job/business dilemma and look for something else. But I agree, what is that something else anyway? One needs a stable source of income as a backup option to rely on considering the OP is from a country that does not allow bitcoin transactions but they are still doing it carefully.

Building such a career would need skills that mostly freelancing workers have. Although such things are by no means low income there are groups which manage to live in good conditions by just freelancing and if you have some specific skills then its even better.
1080  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting online courses? on: November 03, 2023, 04:13:12 PM
My take on courses and books on things that are speculative like stocks, trading, sports betting , howtogetrich? etc is that the person who is selling the book is making more money in actual than the people reading those material.

Maybe there are good courses but such topics are so easy to write and make a novel out of, there is lack of standardization and hence less quality material that may be eye catchy and good to read but lacks substance. It is unrealistic to think of standards here anyway as well.

I think the best learning can be by doing sport betting on paper just like dummy trading. Dont forget that Sport betting also carries a luck factor that can wipe you out. Learn the basics from any source and then start making your own strategies.
