There was a lot of discussion around that, and I would want to say my opinion:
Key to success when establishing new business/product is to stay focused on the main goal/core business.
Too many good ideas were flushed down the history because the founders could not keep to that.

As for Iconomi - Funds management platform in crypto world is HUGE and there is 100% vacuum around it, and tons of potential money. That is the core business of the platform, and the focus has to stay there.
To translate it from the cool nutshell - it is the first 3 only - Bring the fiat investors easily into crypto-related Index and Active Managed funds.
Exchange services is just not what Iconomi should focus on in the upcoming years. The focus has to stay on FUNDS. First crypto and blockchain related, and then move to other areas as well.

Edit: maybe I am confused about something - Cashila, as fiat gateway, will collect the fees for fiat deposits. Why would these fees be part of Iconomi?

Well, yes... technically; Iconomi.net is already an exchange.. Eros-ETH.
...and offering a debit card will do the same thing... ETH/ICN/ICNX/ICNP to debit swipe or atm would be an exchange...
The addition of Euro framework would compliment Kraken, while the addition of American framework would strengthen Iconomi.net... or at the very least "partners" of some kind.
and yes the platform is asset management fully exchange-based entry and exit into and out of the managed funds using crypto's, Euros, and hopefully USD in the near future besides just within Kraken.
It wouldn't be a "management platform" if you couldn't "Manage" the assets, right? hehe
and nobody else will be listing the ICNX or ICNP... that will be exclusive to the platform.
It would be all fairly standard to add other trading pairs like ETH-ICN, BTC-ICN, BTC-ETH and other pairs; all of which will help drive the ICN token value up from much of the fees being distributed in dividends.
This is what makes the gathering of ICN tokens a must for me. I love the thought of owning a portion of an asset management platform! Success means a LIFETIME of Dividends.
Also, most people don't realize what happens when you compound your APR and total dividends on a weekly basis, which is what my plans are ofc.

It wouldn't surprise me to see Kraken join teams and merge with Iconomi. It is the age of acquisitions and mergers.  Kraken sure could use a better platform, and Iconomi would benefit from the Kraken framework and volume.
and a shitload of dough to develop it in hand would be great for both teams..... maybe even just simple site and asset management integration even.

Mal, as a prominent non-shitposter in this thread, I encourage you to be more responsible with the Poloniex speculation/hype.

Here are the absolute facts:

    1.  Poloniex is a Delaware Corporation -- a U.S. company.

    2.  Poloniex takes regulatory compliance very seriously.  See for example New  Hampshire action in quick response to new law.

    3.  ICN are, beyond doubt, a security which is currently not registered with the SEC.  ICN are not in any way legal to advertise or sell in the United States.

SEC could force Poloniex to shutdown, or put the hurt on them, for listing unregulated securities.  Kraken seems willing to chance it for some reason.

The idea that we'll suddenly see a "ICN now trading on Poloniex!" announcement is pure insanity.

Iconomi put the cart before the horse by offering securities to U.S. buyers before they were registered in the U.S.  Now I presume they're paying expensive NY lawyers in an attempt to retcon the whole deal and make it kosher with the SEC.  We will see/hear administrative shit with the SEC, and a firm announcement of ICN's legal status in the U.S., before we see ICN listed on Poloniex, if ever.  Anybody thinking that ICN will be on Poloniex "soon" or that the announcement will come out of the blue is delusional.

One) Return on Investment (ROI) will occur weekly starting January 2017 for ICNP.  I think.  How much ROI we get depends on how much ICNP profit there is.  Nobody can predict that.  From my calculation above, if ICONOMI grows ICNP by 2.7X during 2017, we will get a 15% dividend return in 2017 on our original ICO payment.   If ICONOMI grows ICNP by 3.7X during 2017, we will get a 23% dividend return in 2017 on our original ICO payment.   If these targets are hit, ICONOMI will be a very, very solid dividend investment by Wall Street standards.   And this does not include the ICN tokens you hold going up in price themselves on the exchanges as you earn dividends from them.  It also does not include dividends from fees gathered by ICONOMI from other funds using their platform to reach fiat investors.

Two) ICNP is originally funded from around 7657 BTC gathered during ICO.  At the end of ICO on Sept 29, Bitcoin was at 605 USD per BTC so the value of ICNP was 7657 * 605 = $4.6M.  Over the past month Bitcoin has appreciated from 605 USD per BTC on Sept 29 to 707 USD per BTC today on Oct 31.  The value of ICNP today is thus 7657 * 707 = $5.4M today.  So the value of ICNP is up by $800K in a month due only to Bitcoin appreciation.
