10601  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: May 06, 2020, 09:52:08 AM
Yup big transfer happens, you win.  None, I win.  10 bucks...  The cut off date is whenever the EPL says the transfer ends.

Quote and confirm and lezz go!  Grin

Dude haha I thought you were betting on transfers happening! But bah, let's do it. 50m pounds sterling and above before the transfer window shuts and I win. Gotta bet on something I understand anyway!

@hilarious: yeah read it too. A lot of things I can agree with. Closed doors. 5 substitutions. 30-day stretch to play all games. But I don't get the purpose of less playing time. Once you're on the field already, why for?

@LFC: LES DO IT!!! I watch the IG stuff from Pool and they look like they're yoga-ing a lot and having fun, I'm gunning for us being the fittest out of the blocks too =D

@Cryptopreneur/Trofo: I wasn't even a pro player but when I played in the semi-amateur league in my capital, pitch difference is huge. Even artificial and natural grass. Type of grass. Mown or not. Muddy or not. Hard or soft, sandy or clay. It changes how outcomes happen differently from training. Injuries. Ask EPL teams to play at Lowe leagues with mud and puddles and they can't do their tiki takas anymore. Atmosphere I can't say, we never had a huge crowd anywhere and I was never lucky enough to play a proper club. But pitch length, grass, ground, all very important over 90 minutes!

Thanks for the feedback Lakai. I do remember trying to find a place that tracked volumes maybe 2/3 years back when I was choosing places to put my bankroll investment into. I ended up at CGN, but now that they've closed investment options, I withdrew and moved only a portion to pad up existing ones at Bitvest. I always think there the wagers are is where I should invest, variance notwithstanding, and somehow skipped over Bustadice before. Maychance I look them up some time soon.

@OP sorry for hijacking the thread somewhat, but I hope the related discussion helps bring attention to your PV project!
10603  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Max Keiser takedown of Buffett on his bitcoin stand is epic. on: May 06, 2020, 06:38:57 AM
Max Keiser isn't exactly the best person to trash another's reputation, but come on, we're all on Bitcoin's side, so why can't we accept that Buffett's always going to be on the other side. Aren't we all expected to be on the side of the bets we're placing?

Personally, I think it's just fun and games to see all these guys slug it out against each other. We're just here for popcorn time, till we get bored.
10604  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 05, 2020, 03:26:16 PM
Ramsey is good, Arsenal did not quite take him to another level in football and just like you, I also thought he would do well in Juve.

If he's included in the deal, that'll be taking him back to England, now with Manchester United, that's very odd. If this happens, it may be another go-slow in his career, united have very good midfielders, performing really well, Aaron Ramsey will struggle.

I'm not an Arsenal fan, but I've always liked their management under Wenger though I think even he would agree he shares some of the blame for failing to turn potentials like Ramsey into what they deserved. See Ox Chamberlain, how it just turned around for him as soon as he made the switch to Liverpool, and I really, really thought Ramsey deserved a second life in Italy. Makes me sad every time I think about these types of lost players.

10605  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: May 05, 2020, 01:29:37 PM
I learned a lot about CS and DOTA2. Now i already know the teams and have quite successful bets on handicaps against the favourites or over lines. There has been quite a lot of upsets and that works well for me.

When I say upsets I mean odds between 2-3, bigger upsets are rare and maybe not worth chasing.

Also keep in mind that Esports are much more fluid and prone to change. For example DOTA has implemented a patch in the middle of the game I was betting on. Basically, deciding game was played in whole different meta. This new patch gives much higher chance of reversing the games.

Also when things get back to normal and we have teams competing on site via LAN instead over the internet there should be less suprises.

P.S. Well done buddy on MM!
10606  Economy / Exchanges / Re: An European Regulated P2P Cryptocurrency Exchange is Going to Live Soon! on: May 05, 2020, 12:11:25 PM
Hello,
Thank you for showing your interest on Shiftal Exchange. Yes, our exchange platform is quiet similar to Localbitcoins except our unique features such as Bidding system and call back request. Well, our bidding system enables trader to make an offer to buy and sell BTC or ETH. If you want to know more about our USPs and regulation, you can visit us at https://www.shiftal.com/. In case you still have some query, feel free to write me back.

Not so much your USP but curious about your route to regulatory compliance -- which within the EU can still vary right now. Only asking because of my somewhat unique circumstance: EU resident (for now) but not EU citizen, nor of any other jurisdiction within Europe but part of EEA (like UK, Switzerland etc.)

Your website doesn't really say how (unless there's a ToS I can't locate), but if you clarify, we'll know if this is closer to the LBC compliance model or not. It helps;) When's the ETA?

Edit: just saw your additional reply, so it seems the crypto exchange license is what you'll be pursuing. I guess we'll just have to keep posted, good luck!

I would also add bustadice here to the list of the most popular/frequently used sites (and not only because I wear their signature Wink). Bustadice is still one of the sites where a lot of BTC are wagered, as this statistic here shows:

Good call, but I wonder how accurate that site is? Still lists Peercoin on CGN when it's not been around there since at least last year (can't remember). If busta's still pulling it all that volume, then yeah, def worth a pop.

Now that you show it too, that's an excellent other data we'd all love to look at. Volume at PV sites!
10608  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 05, 2020, 09:14:31 AM
This is and hard economical time also.

Chiellini and Buffon are fine, we already have strong GK and good defense with DeLigt Demiral (crack) Bonucci, Chiellini can be the 4th defender in easy games, and in case of necessity. (even if his is best season was probably the 2018/2019)

Pogba will probably leave, this is the last year when Manchester can earn money, he is and Juventus objective but to be able to take him Manchester needs to agree and exchange and maybe Paul a cut of his salary.
If I'm not wrong he now takes 17m€ + taxes.

Juventus according to rumors can exchange money plus one between Ramsey or Douglas Costa.

I've been a Chiellini admirer for so long that yeah, logic dictates his best season is probably behind him now. Pogba €1.43 every four weeks so yeah, a cool 17 million in wages. Guys like him will have to take a paycut or never play again, even if the Real deal is true and happens.

Pity about Ramsey if true, I feel bad for the guy, and he seemed to be finally finding some joy again in Torino.
10609  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Brought Bitcoin in 2017 and sold in 2018 on: May 05, 2020, 07:42:50 AM
Exactly, they take it that diversifying means putting money into more and more altcoins and thus increasing their chances of loss. Diversification is for managing risks associated with one to the benefits associated with another, but hey people are stupid and others are using that to their advantage.

ETH is not going to reach anywhere near bitcoin. Maybe by price measures it will be the next highest priced after bitcoin but it is not what the crypto ideals is and bitcoin will always be number one there.

Yup! You're not diversifying when you spread your crypto investments into more crypto. That's just diluting your crypto investment, gambling for quicker returns and risking good capital.

You're diversifying when you add bitcoin to your portfolio. Anything else at this point truly is speculation.
10610  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Main Club Partner of Watford FC ⚽ Fun. 🏀 Fast. 🎾 Fair. 🏆 on: May 05, 2020, 06:32:28 AM
Good luck to you guys raring to beat Steve, but I wonder if he'll actually surprise everyone this time. 3 hours means I likely can't make it (family man haha).

I have seen some other types of egaming also, but not for sportsbooks, rather more like P2P betting where the house takes commission. This is like street fighter or mortal kombat livestreamers, and they fight each other, but the house lets you put bets first on the winner. Maybe something like this too?Smiley

I think I know what you're talking about but I've seen them sites doing it and it's not PvP but computer v computer. Would be hard to have P2P betting AND PvP as the chances of fraud and manipulation are too high.

No odds there, just a share of the losing pool equal to what percentage of the total winning pot you put in. Minus house fees.
10611  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 04, 2020, 05:09:20 PM
Big clubs - such as Juventus - get young players only when they are not in a good financial position.
Juventus is now one of the best clubs in Europe and one of the richest - in terms of income flow.
They are going to bring young players to the main squad only if they are going to lose champioships and being disqualified from CL.

Or when they're relegated/demoted, stripped of titles, docked points and fined for match fixing;) Yeah, some clubs just don't have a model to recruit youth until they're desperate, and for a while I think that's also what I imply mentioning Pogba and Man Utd above.

Just glad my club sorted it out -- for now anyway. Naby lad tells me it's alive and well.
10612  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Provably Fair Extension | Quickly Verify Provably Fair Bets from Your Browser on: May 04, 2020, 04:08:18 PM
@OP Yeah, no worries, glad you checked back. I know how tough it is to juggle priorities but you'll want to respond quickly to voluntary feedback to maintain momentum. Again, the lists I semi-arbitrarily put up are based only on my experience but I still think the PV concept is one of the most underrated developments in gambling, and if there's a way to make it even dumber for dumb people like me to verify (and help understand how it verifies) then all the better. Open source it and link up with some of the other gambling devs here.
10613  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: May 04, 2020, 03:07:12 PM
Nope, I'm still clueless. I tried watching a game or 2, it just isn't fun to watch to me. I play a lot of video games but have never had any interest in LoL or DOTA and even the games I play are boring when I watch other people play.
I'm still picking these at random, at some point I tried picking the outsiders but without much success.

I guess that eSports just isn't for me so I'll lose a few satoshis on Multimasters but other than that, I'm taking a gambling break until sport returns.

I watched RTS gaming when I was much younger (that's almost 2 decades ago) and I couldn't understand the attraction of *watching* then, so even today watching I totally don't get it. Gaming's all right for me but repetitive maps and plotless hacking and slashing seems to me just a question of who has the better gear, connection and fastest trigger finger so yeah, I guess you more or less confirm my bias;)
10614  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Faucet Owner revenue problem | discussion on: May 04, 2020, 12:34:38 PM
The cookie settings is probably the best workaround, but I won't be surprised if users could find a way to workaround cookies while still getting at your faucet. It's always going to be a problem for non-account sites, but you could do an internal check that sets the faucet only if the user sees enough ads -- which won't happen if he's already seen them.
10615  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: May 04, 2020, 11:22:30 AM
@Trofo, cryptofrka, so are you guys feeling any better at predicting these games doing all these eSports selections? I've done a few, but generally don't learn anything new from anyone, the names are still unfamiliar to me too.

4/1 upsets happen about once every four times from what I could watch anyway. So the odds do seem to be "martingale-able". Agree?
10616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: so what to do with USDT ?! on: May 04, 2020, 10:19:40 AM
Most important question to answer first is where you are, and which jurisdiction applies to you. Don't go Localbitcoins if you're from the US, for example, you don't want to go to jail.

If you're outside the US, chances are you can easily use Bitpanda without verification for that amount of Tether. Deposit it directly to them, and request bank payment. Not advertising, but it works easiest for Tether across almost all jurisdictions.
10617  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 04, 2020, 09:12:55 AM
@coinlocket and Coyster: looks like Juventus simply refuses to get any younger, but I don't know, I always like seeing teams age and Juventus take it to quite a special level, wouldn't you say?

Now about Pogba, I HOPE he stays. Every annoying expensive superstar that stays at United for another season makes me happy to see their coffers get smaller and smaller. Not that I dislike the guy but he deserves United =p Or they deserve him =p Won't forget how he plundered points against Citeh!
10618  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: May 03, 2020, 08:02:12 PM
I have 3 wins and 1 loss, Liquid vs Furia. This is my best start so far to a Multimaster promo tournament, hopefully it continues during the weekend.

So far more than 50 of us got 3 correct, it is crowded on the leaderboard Cheesy I hope I picked my underdogs correctly, I chose only 3 of them in this round.

Good thing you were able to bet on this weekend's multi master. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to do that. Darn, missed my opportunity.

Upon checking the leader board, the top spot got 8 wins already while the rest only got 7 and 6. If this continues, there will only be 1 person who'll take home that juicy 300 mBTC. Lucky guy!

Bloody hell, I missed it again too. Keep telling myself I'll make picks on Friday when I've had time to research (whatever that means, haha) but then I end up finishing work late and forgetting it all).

I scored 9 on the last one with 1 game cancelled, so I suppose it's "easier" in a way.

Lucky guy who keeps trying I guess!
10619  Economy / Exchanges / Re: LocalBitcoins and Tier verification's on: May 03, 2020, 07:01:37 PM
The problem is that it's now impossible to filter for local traders, and there is no way to search the "terms of trade" sections. I gave up trying to randomly search through offers since the chances of finding cash traders who were also local and listed contact info was incredibly low.

And when it comes to purely online trades, the incentive to use their escrow service is really high due to fraud. For these reasons, I think that trading outside the escrow system is rare.

I really miss the old LocalBitcoins. It used to work just like Craigslist, with lots of people using it for local listings while dealing P2P outside of escrow. There's nothing "local" about it anymore. I've since moved on to LocalCryptos. It's nowhere near as active as the old LBC, but I managed to make one cash trade recently -- for a good price too.

I guess I'm not seeing the problems where you are -- it's arguably easier to find local traders in one of my locations now. Many more online traders (and our online payments are 24/7) than even a year ago and even more than during the 2017 boom. I WILL say that since KYC though, we've had many, many more foreigners on LBC (using local bank accounts).

But you're right in terms of visibility. In my other EU location, the same locals (cash) are still around but they don't appear on searches anymore. I think if you get in now as a new person, you simply can't find local traders unless you join local forums too (in local languages).

On the other hand Timo Werner finally announced that he won't move to Bayern. Yeeess.. finally! He also said that, if he is moving to another club, another league would be appealing to him.
Look like Bayern is not enough bid to put in the club. also, Liverpool who has very enthusiastic, after Timo said that, Liverpool have the opportunity to put in a bid and compete with another EPL club, Chelsea and MU. Simple I think who's call Timo first, will get his contract sign.

Much as I rather like the guy, and I think he'll be a typical Mane, Bobby or Salah at Liverpool (work rate up, assist up, goals up, cause he'll be surrounded by similarly pro-active go-getters), but this guy's a bit of a higher profile than either of our current three were before they joined us.

I know for sure Klopp only wants players who WANT to be at Liverpool, as opposed to a guy who wants to be at any club who wants him in a different league. But to be fair, courting Liverpool alone and not getting them would hurt his chances elsewhere.
