All favorites won yesterday; Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool won at away games, nothing much changed in standings. Only West Ham United hurt by getting only a draw at home. In fact, I would not say that Atlético is in some particularly bad shape - they play their usual dull football, but it gives a result (in the Spanish Championship they are only 3 points behind Real). In the Champions League, they are less successful, but their competitors also cannot boast of anything. I believe the oncoming Dortmund - Bayern Munich game is going to be superb. We see in the league standings that Bayern Munich have 31 points and Dortmund have 30. I'm really content about seeing Dortmund having a great season so far. They seem to be quite determined for the Bundesliga title this time. They are making a huge effort in their league games even though they have many players missing. Haaland is back though and he is back with a goal also. And he can be helpful for his team a lot in this game to be able to compete very well with Bayern Munich. Each team should be able to score easily and a draw wouldn't surprise me at the end of the game.

It was good? it was lame given that there is a big gap between the squad value of both team. I think I have said it few times but whenever PSG play with most of their regular starting lineup, they should have win every game but PSG is still way ahead than the other team. This league would be a bit more interesting if only PSG lose like another two games lol Yes, that was good. If you have read my previous arguments, then you should know that with this scenario, I was ready to bet on the victory of PSG (and as we already know, this would most likely cost me the loss of certain money). Benzema with his angry from Ballon d'Or will play aggressively in this match and can destroy Bilbao goal. Benzema and Lewandowsky are some of unlucky players who have talent, outstanding performance in their career but because of they are playing in a same era of Ronaldo and Messi, their talent are not rewarded by big personal titles like Ballon d'Or. Mbappe is different because he is young and he will reach to his best when Messi and Ronaldo will be in last seasons of their career. Mbappe and Haaland will have more chance to win Ballon d'Or than Lewandowski and Benzema but it does not mean that are better players. This award has long been discredited, I think few professionals or even just those who are fond of watching football take it seriously. This is part of marketing, politics - it has nothing to do with objectivity. If you look at the winners, you might think that in football there are practically no great defenders or goalkeepers - almost all the awards are taken by the strikers. That is a legit point, almost all the winners are strikers. The problem is that it is hard to quantify how a defender helped during a match and how many balls he was able to tackle from the opponent but the number of goals scored will be always remembered. If the award winner was selected earlier Robert Lewandowski would be the winner and the award board should have given to him because Messi already won them multiple times and for the longest time Messi and CR7 is sharing the trophy for years. I think that given the fact that computing resources are becoming cheaper and AI is solving ever wider types of problems, plus the fact that all matches in modern football remain recorded on video, we hope that soon we will get an impartial assessment of who was how strong in football. I think the results will surprise a lot of people and there will definitely not be these comic balls that are handed out for business/PR reasons, not facts. |

The only game tomorrow is Real Madrid - Athletic Bilbao. The reason is that this is the missing game of both teams and it is scheduled for tomorrow. Venice, Genoa and Cagliari do look like points donors. But I would not be sure that Juventus will easily beat Bologna - in fact, now they are approximately equal rivals.
