my 2 omen 30l units came today they have nvidia 3070 cards in them.

I will be testing them today.
I have a nvidia PNY 3090 due to be picked up on sat at nearby best buy.

so 60+60 +110= 230mh coming on line soon.

apparently I did pick the asus strix 6700xt at  829 usd + 10 to ship = 839 + 60 tax = 900

I will decide later if I want to pay that.

I passed on it and removed it from my cart to avoid the temptation.  Like is it really worth $350 more than the cheapest 6700 XT?  An extra like 70% over the cheapest 6700 XT that will mine roughly the same speed?

Funny I just decided fuck it and purchased it.

NOT MUCH DIFFERENCE

In hash rates.

But overhead in power - extra GPU, Memory and so on. So go for one PC.

Some times you would be right other times wrong.

Myself If i had 4 good cards right now I think I would want 2 machines that could expand to 5 or 6 cards.

I wouldn't want 1 machine or 4 machines

but 2 is better than one in a choice point of 1 or 2.

Reason is if 1 dies you can trouble shoot really fast.

1 machine if it dies means very hard trouble shooting.

A lot depends on your particular area to mine.
I have 1 card
I have 2 card
I have 3 card
I have 4 card
and 5 ,6,7 at the moment.

some on windows 10 some on smOS/linux

New shuffle already up - 17 6700 XT cards.   Early reports say they are not as good for eth as 5700,  43MH vs 55MH but with tweaking they may get to 50.  At least they are cheap.

I got picked for I think the most expensive one at $829.99.  I'm not sure I'm interested in a huge 2.9 slot card that only does potentially 50 mhs.  I'm on the fence.

I did not pick that one.

Thanks philipma1957,

As the EVGA 1600 G2 has 9 GPU sots i am thinking to take only 1 GPU out and stay with 1 Evga 1600 g2 that will power the 9 cards and use the other EVGA with another MB + another cards

Thanks for the advise

the psu will like that lessor load.

It's widely available here in my country
But here's the trick, it's the equivalent of USD 1,254  Shocked , the cheapest version

No one is buying at this price

How much is it on US or another countries?

500 usd for the basic models

800 usd for the most expensive.

I want to power 2 GPUs form 1 GPU slot.
My question is will that be safe for the PSU. Can i burn the GPU slot of the PSU if i power 2 GPUs and their risers.

I have 10 X Rx580 the miner shows avg. 92-100 W. The total system  consumes about 1250W at the wall so it must be about the real consumption of the GPUs that is show with PhoenixMiner.

As i understand from your reply one GPU slot of the PSU can handle up to 300W . This is enough for 2X RX580.

So i just need to make sure that the cable is good and i can power 2 GPUS from one slot of the PSU?

Read my post the correct answer is maybe.

You won't like the next answer.

Get a second mobo

and lower the cards to 8 on the first one.

My reasoning is a 1600 watt g2 is costly.

A smaller mobo to reduce load on the beast is smart.

Cheaper mobos using a usb stick and running smos are a better solution than what you are doing.

what does the evga 1600 watt g2 cost?  a lot  well over 350 usd

a seasonic 850 watt focus is only 150

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/seasonic-focus-gx-850-850w-80-gold-psu-full-modular-fan-control-in-fanless-silent-cooling-mode-10-yr-warranty-black/6414265.p?skuId=6414265

a mobo and a cpu a usb is pretty cheap.  pulling 2 cards from the first rig and looking for a deal on a new card is a better plan.

you end up with a 8 card and a 3 card setup and the 3 card can grow a bit more.

Hi folks,

I am wondering if it would be possible and safe enough to power 2 X RX580 Nitro+ 8GB cards and their risers form 1 GPU slot of the PSU.

This is the GPU
https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=120-G2-1600-X1

and as everyone knows the RX 580 Nitro+
https://www.sapphiretech.com/en/consumer/nitro-rx-580-8g-g5

Currently, i am powering every GPU and its riser with 1 GPU slot from the PSU - 1 cable that splits and powers the 8 pin connector of the GPU and the riser with 6 pin

I was reading here and there that it should be ok if the power is not exceeding 225 W .

On Phoenix miner it shows that every GPU draws between 90 and 105W (GPUs are bios modded undervolted etc...)

So 2 RX580 Nitro+ 8GB will need 210W max.

Another question is Phoenix miner showing the consumption of the GPU and the riser in total? Or is this only the GPU? As far as i know the risers can draw up to 75W power

Thanks

Maybe it works maybe it does not.

The problem is some times setting rest on their own and card maxes power draw.  Those card can pull 200 watts. So if the settings drop you could melt the cable.

This happens on windows more than linux.

But it can happen on linux.

So the best answer is maybe it is safe. Do you feel lucky?

The shuffle was a miss.

Hi!

No matter how I OC my zotac 1060 6gb gpu I cannot get it to get above 1199mhz. I’ve used quick miner and the graphical miner. I use MSI afterburner. I’ve also used NiceHash miner OC Tune. I’ve also mined with lolminer and ethminer.

I’m hashing at about 16.50 mh/s on avg. I cannot get it above 16.75mh/s. I know it can get to 22-25mhz from YouTube videos and a friend with the same card. I’ve put in ALL the OC settings and GPU-Z will not show the memory clock going above 1199mhz.

I’m beginning to think it’s a bios or motherboard issue. I’m on a ASROCK b365m pro4.

Has anyone run in to the issue or know where I can go for help?

Thanks!

you need to move to alt coin 🪙 section.

I asked mods to move it.

10636  Economy / Speculation / Re: We are going to lose 20% today on: March 18, 2021, 12:34:23 AM
BTC is at around 55k right now but by the end of the day we will see a 20% drop. It will settle around $45k today.

The hype for the week is over.

What is this based on.  A 20% drop when no indication of a massive drop incoming is a bold statement.  Can it sure but why today.  These threads pop up all the time and I mean one of them will be right just by mere statistics but it doesn't mean anything.  Why keep posting these threads?

I reached the point of wanting to be able to move all new bears threads to archive section.

They clog up 🆙 speculation section with a lot of nonsense.

I will simply say the stock market 📈 the dow jones index had a prolonged bull run from 2001 to 2008.

So to talk bear here when indeed we may be entering the longest bull run ever for btc is not very responsible.

But what do I know not much.

What’s that smell?

Burnt shorts?

The sweet smell of liquidation?

I read all these threads 🧵 bear bear bear.

Nice to see 59k and by tomorrow 64k new ath.

next week

Yup.  They don't want a 4th wire.

and a three phase main panel has three hots along with a ground.

my guess is the electrical guy wire the socket

hot-hot-hot

which will blow those power supplies up.

what interested me is the  s17 two plug did not fry.

Will be fun to watch.

i'm guessing you are running the 3060 on linux and can't get the new driver?

My 3060 is in a PC that only has the PCIE2.0 slot, and NVIDIA still blocks it, Eth mining at 22.

My Octopus setting are PL 72%, +220,+1088, 125w in NBminer, with a hash of 44.89.

I notice you are getting slightly better than mine, can you share your settings?

Is the power supply rated for 3 phase?

those power supplies want two 110/120 hots and a ground.
