10641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mine Dogecoin on: March 17, 2021, 08:50:06 PM
I want to start mining DogeCoin on a nvidia graphics card GTX 1060 6GB. I found a manual https://cryptogeek.info/en/blog/how-to-mine-dogecoin, it says here that you can mine at least on anything, but I did not find anything specifically about graphics cards. Is my graphics card suitable for mining this coin? Help me please!

Dude you need an L3+ to mine  and you will be mining LTC and DOGE

a 1060gb is very good to mine ETH

you should mine ETH with your card.
Is it still profitable to mine Ethereum now? In my country, the fee for 1 kilowatt is 8 cents.

yes your card should do more than 2 usd a day on eth

and it should cost 3 or 4 kwatts which is 25 to 32 cents power.

thus a net of 1.60 to 1.75 usd a day.

10643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Graphics Cards for building a mining rig on: March 17, 2021, 07:01:36 PM
Hello,
I am building my first mining rig and I'm having a difficult time finding Nvidia 3080 graphics cards.  By chance do you know where I can find any...

Thank you so much.

Jackson

yes I have some of these for you
I have two of them used and under warranty until nov 2023

https://www.ebay.com/itm/EVGA-GeForce-RTX-3080-XC3-ULTRA-10GB-GDDR6X-Graphics-Card/224387383640?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/READY-TO-SHIP-EVGA-GeForce-RTX-3080-XC3-ULTRA-10GB-GDDR6X-Graphics-Card/294068329169?

what do you want to pay for 2 of them? I take btc or ltc. I am honest and well established.

A hint I had 3 of them and sold 1 of the 3 for 1600 in ltc.
So you have an idea what to offer for 1.
As a well trusted leading escrow terms are payment in ltc or btc and I then ship the one to you.
Or the two if you want the two.

Lastly I am usa based I will not ship out of the usa.

Here is a fun thread.

1x 3060 running octopus at nicehash. https://www.nicehash.com/my/miner/1JdC6Xg3ajT3rge3FgPNSYYFpmf53Vbtje

1x 3060ti running eth at nicehash. https://www.nicehash.com/my/miner/146UJM5kgzLVUV23CXCf33KQKHckoX1gx3

both at 0 coin. I will run this for 8 weeks and show totals each week.

the 3060 is an evga cost me 435

https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=12G-P5-3657-KR

the 3060ti is an aorus cost me 513

https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N306TAORUS-M-8GD#kf

the aorus has mined for 100 days earning over 500 usd worth of eth. power cost was about 70. so it has earned back over 430

We know octopus does not pay  what eth pays.

but. my 3060 was only 435 it has earned back some Since it arrived on March 2

The prior numbers do not concern me. it is the from now on that matters to me.

So the 2017 usd all time high is at rank 100

after today it should be at rank 101 and off the page.

Same for the 2017 Cad all time high.

The Euro and the JPN  2017 numbers will drop off in a few more days.

10650  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: 208 Volt outlet fried two s15 Machines, any idea why on: March 17, 2021, 03:50:11 AM
I think its from the PSU of the miner

huge chance he wired receptacle wrong.

photo the receptacle.

and post a photo of it here.

there are a lot of ways to wire it wrong.

you have three phase

so there are three hot wires and a ground going into the big box

then an outlet  is attached to the big box.

the outlet needs two hots and one ground.

since the big box has three hots and a ground.

my guess is the receptacle is wired

hot-hot-hot. and that fries your psu.

i smell a small claims lawsuit as asshole owes you two pieces of gear.

taking the meter and putting it in the hot holes in the receptacle will read 208-210.

but what does the ground hole and the left hot hole show.
and what does the ground hole and the right hot hole show.

my guess is 208-210 and he gave you three hots in that receptacle.

I am tired and on a shit ipad laying in bed watching the late show.
in the morning i will find some links to show what i am describing to you.

it would be nice if asshole pays you for the gear he fried.

note i am not an electrician just a dedicated miner.

i could be wrong. so dont freak until i find some links.

A bit amusing offtopic:
My wife broke my gtx670, for a small upgrade i considered a (now old) gtx 970.
They are selling for 200 bucks. Yikes!

If you are USA based

I have a 1050ti 4gb is that a better card?

I think it could be better. I certainly would not want 200 Grin

10652  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could be in for a very long sustained bull market on: March 17, 2021, 12:52:18 AM
The dow jones had extended bull runs lasting years on end.

Soooooo  I would argue Btc could have a two- three year run of which we are only six month’s in counting 2020 Sept  20 or so as a starting point.

If so a slowly upwards move with small correction then new ath may just carry on and on and on.

Time will tell.

...

you will know you did some good testing. with 6 different settings

Hi dear Philip

Thank you, you just save my little card from being burned out as i used max limit of power.
I'll definitely try the settings you told me, good luck in your mining dude  Grin

Yeah I used to own a Kia Forte.  Near my house is an empty stretch of highway well paved very straight and a tiny bit down hill about 5.5 miles long. My Kia can do 105MPH on that road.

I did it once out of "I would like to know the cars limits".  But doing it day after day would kill the car.
10654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: March 16, 2021, 04:59:50 PM
so the 'mining' card is pretty much designed for large farms and worthless for a 5-75 card miner..

Pretty sure there are

30
40
50
60
90

versions each better than the other.

Still kind of worthless.

It looks to me that I will just be stacking

coins and not growing gear right now.

I have a lot of power and space coming to me at 4-5 cents maybe 300 or 400 kwatts to fill and pretty much no gear to fill it with.

At least the gear I have is making some $$

it they arrive they will be 2 weeks late.

I will post results on them.

10656  Other / Meta / Re: Have you ever noticed that some of your posts are gone without being told ... on: March 16, 2021, 04:14:32 PM
Nope. It must only happen to shitposters. But if it starts happening to anyone else, I'm sure they'll us know.
Not only shitposters per say. I recently saw a thread by Lovesmayfamilis about missing posts with regards to being deleted by mods.
Sure shitposters get deleted posts but then, when a shitposter plagiarises a content or creates a shitty thread and users go about commenting, either the contributions is vital, necessarily, correct or not, should the moderator happen to delete the thread, the comments that came with it is wiped as well and only the OP gets notified about it.
Bottom line, to avoid deleted posts as a non shitposter, you ought to be careful about the threads you post in especially one coming from a newbie or beginner as they are the once very liable to these crimes.

1)the only way to avoid stealth deletes  is never post in any thread that you did not start. = This is the only way that works right now.

2) If a thread is deleted every poster needs a notice. = this is the correct  solution.

All other threads you post in can get your hard work poofed on the whim of a mod.

It is a flaw in the forum's notification process. that 1) works and 2) is yet to have been implemented.

I have lost 20 to 40 hours of work on  many good posts due to thread deletions in btc mining section.
10657  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: can i add extra graphic card with my psu 650wat Aerocool on: March 16, 2021, 03:52:09 PM
Well thanks for trying my advice out.

Most likely the gear was over clocked and tossing errors.

So you now help the card run at a more relaxed and error free speed.

Mining is so profitable right now that the only way to fuck up mining is to burn out the card.

My fear was you were going to do that with the 116% power setting.

 I have a rig with 3x 3080 cards.

Eth speed: 273.408 MH/s, shares: 904/1/0, time: 1:30

GPUs: 1: 91.497 MH/s (289) 2: 90.427 MH/s (295) 3: 91.483 MH/s (321)

GPU1: 64C 79% 222W, GPU2: 61C 77% 222W, GPU3: 53C 77% 222W

GPUs power: 665.3 W

note the 904/1/0 only 1 lost share as I make clocks gentler.

the cards do 91-93 each .  and just run

if your card can do a relaxed  25.5 and makes 1 of 500 errors

it is better than a stressed 26.5 and making 60 of 500 errors

more money  is made as 499/500 x 25.5 = 25.449 net on lower power

vs  440/500 x 26.5 = 23.32 net on higher power.

Plus killing the card is more likely at 116% power vs 100% power.

Same for ram.

 maybe 980 ram vs 1000
 maybe 900 ram vs 1000
 maybe 850 ram vs 1000
 maybe 800 ram vs 1000

great setting may be 95% power 950 ram or 90% power 900 ram

play with power

100% at ram of 1000,950,900,850,800.   so you  tested this at 1000 ram try the other rams

 then play with this one

 95% at ram of   "       "     "     "     "

then play with this one
 90% at ram of  "       "     "     "      "

then this one
 85% at ram of   "     "      "    "      "

That is a lot of tests about 20 of them but even if you just do

100%. 1000 ram 950 ram 900 ram
 95%.  1000 ram 950 ram 900 ram

you will know you did some good testing. with 6 different settings

10658  Other / Meta / Re: Have you ever noticed that some of your posts are gone without being told ... on: March 16, 2021, 04:19:29 AM
It is not possible for posts to be deleted without members being informed, if moderators want to delete post, a message will be sent to user's email to notify him, also immediately he will got a notification message on his account on this forum about it. But there are some reasons moderators will not send notification or email, if the user is a shitposter, he will just be banned and his post will all be deleted as it has not usefulness.

sadly not true.

if you post on a thread 🧵 of a different member and that thread is deleted you go poof.

Which sucks if you put in a lot of effort to answer or reply to the thread.

This happens in the btc mining section which practices quite a bit of coinism

or btc supremacy.

So many posts and thread in that section get deleted in the name of btc purity.

It is unfortunate and frankly I don’t like the censorship .

If i spend a 1/2 hour writing up 🆙 an analysis of watts per coin to  usd ratios and it gets deleted I get pretty angry.  Many people don’t understand how and why eth watts per coin earnings are possibly boosting btc price and at the same time dropping btc difficulty.

To me that analysis belongs in the btc section. but it could be deleted at any moment due to strict btc only rules in the mining section.

We can stay in the 54-63 slot for the next few weeks then bust a move to $77,777.77 very early April .

okay don't buy a card.  first tell us what cards you have.

you may be able to mine with a card you possess rather than over pay.

you are kind of getting a small amount of free power.

buying a pc may be smart vs buying cards
