10681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shall I HODL DOGE? on: March 13, 2021, 04:54:07 PM

Anyone that has a few bucks should stack doge each and every month.

Now do I think doge is better than BTC absolutely not.
Do I think doge is better than LTC no.

I think people looking for long term coins to buy and hodl

Need to  buy 500 usd of BTC each and every month.
And 50 usd of LTC each and very month
and 50 usd of Doge each and every month.

so 10 ,1, 1 ratio for the 3 coins. each and every month for next few years of investing.

My long term 5 year horizon for

BTC = +100k
LTC = + 1k
Doge = 25 to 50 cents

This does not mean I am smart or know anything at all.
If you follow my thoughts and lose money that does not mean I am responsible or owe you for your losses.
This is simply my thoughts of the 3 best coins to buy and hodl.

These three coins should only be buy and hodl investments.
10682  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: can i add extra graphic card with my psu 650wat Aerocool on: March 13, 2021, 03:46:46 PM
Yeah i think so "Aero cool" is a crappy psu and though it does only have 1 connector of gpu, i did'nt make attention to that  Cry

is this the psu

https://aerocool.io/product/aero-bronze-650w/

adding this adapter would let you do a second 1060

https://www.amazon.com/CableCreation-GeForce-Gigabyte-Sapphire-Graphics/dp/B078W7W8L2/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?

clock the gpu to 80 watts or so. you should be fine.

Hi Philip

Thank you for your response, yes it's same as the one in the link, then you encourage me to use a seconds graphic card, but i don't know about using 80wat for my gpu
Is it in oc tool ?  i use msi afterburner and there is Core Voltage in % as 0 value
here is my oc config

First off let me give you credit for asking about your settings.

And oh my god wtf are you doing look at your power number 116%

give me a minute to fix this for you
power limit needs to be 70 not 116 this was a really bad setting

core clock  can be +0 like it is
core volts can be +0 like it is

power limit needs to be 70 not 116 this was a really bad setting
ram can be +600 to + 850 not + 1000
temp limit of 75c vs 92c

fan in the 60-80 range

microvolt is 1049 if you lower power setting to 70 I think that will self lower

the key is drop the  power limit down to 70
and drop the ram down to say 800

10683  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Minning on old cards on: March 13, 2021, 03:42:03 PM
Throw that useless gpu away or give it out to those kids who still cares about counter strike gaming on pc lol, even with free electricity it still doesn't make any sense

This says it all.

Basically if your card is not 3gb nvidia = octopus

or 4gb amd = Ron/kapow fuck old cards.

if you want eth a  6gb card is a kind of safe bet.
10684  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS: P106, 1060, L3+ USED but not ABUSED! on: March 13, 2021, 03:00:59 PM
I may want the L3+
I am a leading escrow and have done fairly large deals.

we can do lots of ten at a time or maybe 20 at a time.

What would want for them?

hi philip im looking at 300 usd incl the orig psu but it seems shipping cost is high from here to the main locations miners are.... therefore im withdrawing this thread. if anyone is ok or has a cheap way of picking up goods msg me and we can always explore. for now i'll be setting all the hardware up to run. Thanks everyone for your time!

Mining them is most likely the best way for you.
10685  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 13, 2021, 02:51:26 PM
Speaking of walls. I find it interesting that the 50k €-wall is harder to break down then the 60k $-wall. Is it because Europeans are better at building walls?

http://roma.andreapollett.com/S4/walls.htm
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-51307868

They have be building them longer than the USA has.

Some of the ones in Rome are still standing after 2000 years. Grin
10686  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Feeler bids or offers for evga 3080 & msi/corsair 1080ti seahawk on: March 13, 2021, 02:24:12 PM

Feb 27  12.44  based on $ 0.1033 an mh
Feb 28  10.76  based on $ 0.0908 an mh
March 1 10.39 based on $ 0.0880 an mh
March 2 10.94 based on $ 0.0921 an mh
we did about 10 a day on the days below after taking out 20 cent power cost.
March 3 10
March 4 10
March 5 10
March 6 10
March 7 10
March 8  10.50 price of eth went up
March 9  11.77 price of eth went up

116.80 profits after paying 20 cent power cost.

Hmm  wonder if fomo will begin soon

March 10. $11.40.      $128.20
March 11    11.40.        139.60
March 12.   11.40.        151.00

the 3080 is about. 1825 + tax in this auction

  https://www.ebay.com/itm/EVGA-GeForce-RTX-3080-XC3-ULTRA-10GB-GDDR6X-GPU-Warranty-FREE-SHIPPING/114724677857?

the 1080ti is about   610 + tax in this auction

https://www.ebay.com/itm/EVGA-GeForce-GTX-1080-Ti-SC2-Hybrid-Gaming-11GB-GDDR5X-Graphics-Card-Watercooled/184699345988?

so that is 2425 + tax and auctions not over.

which is less than. 2700 + tax   when I offered this. a while back. Of course auction did not end.

So they may be at the 2700 to 3000 level when over.

You know if you bid at 2100 and get this you could sell the 1080ti for 600-800 and Lower the price on the 3080 3885.

Stimulus checks are driving btc to 60k I winder if eth got back over 2k.

Based on these 2 auctions I will consider lowering price on the  deal. auctions on ebay end today.

Honest question for WO.. Obviously I'm not 'murican so I've no idea what it's really like over there but.. how many of the people getting stim checks are actually spending them on things like bitcorn? How many people are actually struggling with moniez and will have to use it for every day stuff?

Asking for a friend

this is a good question very hard to answer.  But I will give it a shot.

We do not need the 2800  and yeah we will qualify for the 2800.

We have zero debt we have 3 guaranteed retirement checks we have a 401k and we have BTC + (some shit coins)

I will put the 2800 into gpus to mine shit coins to get bitcoins. Today I ordered a 1919 USD gpu to mine eth to directly convert to BTC

I have 35-50 friends in the 40-65 year old age group 3 or 4 of us are into BTC we are all doing well enough to not need the check.
The other 30-40 friends need the checks and will not be buying btc.

I find in the older than 40 group the ones using the money to buy more coin already have coin and do not need the money.

I find the ones needing the money never were into coin in the first place

See highlighted. How?
I keep looking for any 3080 or 3090 and NOTHING.
A very stupid situation because i need it not for mining, but gaming.

I listed every
 3090
 3080
3070
3060ti

on best buy
on evga
on b+h photo
and do the newegg shuffle.

so today after 30-35 tries on best buy since oct i grabbed a pny model for 1799 plus tax.

it has been next to impossible to find them close to retail price since Jan. 1

10691  Economy / Speculation / Re: Top 20 days for Bitcoin on: March 13, 2021, 04:20:13 AM
We now have the 71 days in a row for all of 2021 above any price in any prior year.

So my feb has 31 days space out did not jinx the streak.

hoping to see more and more and more 50k plus days for all of March.

Maybe a nice 60k closing day comes this month.

That would be some very nice march madness.
10692  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: March 13, 2021, 04:05:30 AM
Pny cards are decent. I have a 3070 model. I have to go to brick nj  best buy about 10 miles from my house to pick it up on  the 20th. of march.

Also this purchase put me over the $3500 threshold for 2021  to be an eliteplus member for the whole year.

That means 45 day returns.  So if all gpu mining crashes in 44 days or less I can return the card.  A small hedge.

To be clear I have spent enough with them in

2016
2017
2018
2019
2020
2021

so I am a six year elite plus member I think I have done 3 returns in 40 days in those six years.
10693  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Small Commercial GPU Farm Owner Looking To Add BTC ASICs on: March 13, 2021, 02:38:51 AM
This is a great point. I have capacity to run more miners but I have paused expansion because at the moment, I am making more money holding my BTC mining earnings and watching the price increase.

This is what I have done.

I have btc gear
I have ltc gear
I have eth gear

It is all paid off.

I could 3x my gear I have that much cheap power.  way better price than 10-11-12 cents.

At the moment the only gear that can be found close to reasonable is an odd gpu.  So when I get a good price on a gpu I buy it.
I have been adding 1 gpu about every 10 days close to msrp prices.
10694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: March 12, 2021, 11:32:49 PM
Shuffle ends in 2 hours 17 min!

5pm east coast

2 pm west coast.

https://www.newegg.com/product-shuffle

they have an asus 3070

I would take the asus if they let me.

update:

Lost the shuffle oh well.

Today  I was lucky no Newegg Shuffle but Best Buy had a drop of nvidia cards.

I tried to get one for the 30th time since October and I finally snagged a card at msrp. from Best Buy the pny 3090

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/pny-geforce-rtx-3090-24gb-xlr8-gaming-epic-x-rgb-triple-fan-graphics-card/6432657.p?skuId=6432657

it was 1799 + 120 tax = 1919 I will get 107 back in gift card money so net will 1812

10696  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Liquid stuff on GPUS on: March 12, 2021, 09:20:36 PM
I would argue that the cards are running too hot. They should be clocked lower and be cooler.

I have plenty of cards with and with out the issue. It does show up on hot cards more easily than cool cards.

Ie 1080tis run for 3 years at 175 watts or less not stains or leaks

Same make and model run at 220 watts for 3 years have the leaks.

Yes, I think there's relation of how much the card is hot and the leaking of this oil
With all my only gaming GPUs, never had this issue, but my minig cards, all the hottest leaked

Started with my Galax 1080ti, with some RX 580, and most recently, my 5700 XT Gigabyte

I suspect the vram thermal pad is the most problematic, the temperature above 90°C running 24h/7 should be the cause of leaking

Happens on my windows builds more than my smos.  The reason is simple my smos almost never do runaway max to the tdp random moves.

Windows builds do this more  often and those cards get hotter.
I have been using smos for years and have found that this is often the case.

they moved a ton of coins in Oct and Nov 2020 to this address

https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/1NjhTx5Uu9aH6A1kjdnvRN96sUtUqAwAxE

that address did big moves to some addresses in this tx

https://www.blockchain.com/btc/tx/8a2a802733d1beace4a5ddd4aa598ecb3b181db0b4b83acd8963cb5517e4480a

https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/17cwWT84KFoSjW19GByKNhD8dCUqtPRC7U
https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/16Cn9u31P3NEi76MS7BExn24XEdabcotmT

about 88 btc combined.

Frankly it is interesting to see 141 billion sitting peacefully in 1 address.

I think it is set as a target on purpose since cracking the wallet and ripping it off would be a big blow to BTC.

10 cent power sucks.

in the summer our power which is far lower was close to break even on s9 and s15 gear.

the innosilicon is 67 th and pulls 3300 watts

I have 3 innosilicon units.

only 1 runs to spec.

lets analyze buying a 67th and mining it at 11 cents.

3300 x 24 = 79.2 kwatts a day make that 80

80 x .11 = $8.80 for power cost.

67 x .3617 =  $24.23

So 15.43 a day profit

So if you get one today for 2000 it would take 130 days to payoff.

If btc slides to 40k you would be in trouble.

Historically 5 cent mining has been the 'safe' always make money number.

10 cents was okay.

what do they want foR it shipped to your door.  and what about trump tax (if usa)
