10701  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Gauging interest | Poker Game with physical coins as prizes. on: September 12, 2016, 04:37:07 AM
Probably standard NL hold em
What's the difference between "NL hold'em" and "Texas hold'em"? You should probably put in a more detailed description of how the tournament will be played out in addition to the primary rules of NL hold'em.

I'd be interested depending on time and conditions.  Wink
The same goes for me. I'm still considering it.

Update:
nl holdem is the same as texas holdem
Interesting. Thanks.
10702  Other / Meta / Re: Ancient Bitcoin Talk accounts logging in on: September 12, 2016, 04:30:47 AM
Feels spooky. Ancient Bitcointalk accounts are starting to log in. Do you think this is connected to a forum breach?
There's nothing spooky about it. If their passwords have not been changed since the data breach in 2015, then there's always a chance that they will get compromised.

I thought https://bitcointa.lk/ was the new forum. What's that supposed to be?
No, that website has nothing to do with BTCT except that it stole all of the data created by its users. If you log in there, there's a decent chance that your account will be compromised.

maybe its just admins ? Smiley
No.
10703  Other / New forum software / Re: New rank? on: September 12, 2016, 04:23:58 AM
You're right, there's a whole generation of users that will become Legendary, and this rank will get what Sr. Member is nowadays, cool but not so much awesome.
There was really no need to quote my post back from 2015. I don't think there are a lot of legendary (yet). I'm sure that someone could run the numbers (which may be a bit difficult considering the status of the members page).

In my opinion i think the best option will be 'Mythical Member'  Grin
This one is magic sounding but I like Epic member myself.
I disagree with it. People shouldn't get a rank like that just because they were active for a few years. You can already occasionally see some hero/legendary members that have very limited or flawed understanding of Bitcoin.
10704  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [RAFFLE] - Papersafe Series 1, 2 and 3 & CryptoFreeze on: September 11, 2016, 04:33:55 PM

10705  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Gauging interest | Poker Game with physical coins as prizes. on: September 11, 2016, 04:28:59 PM
This may be interesting depending on the execution plan. Could you elaborate on how exactly we'd play this out; is there any particular software or website that you have in mind?
10706  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 1000 BTC Giveaway - what might be happening. on: September 11, 2016, 09:31:58 AM
This is proof that I am hacker who hack this "bfxhacker"  Wink

No. You're just another random scammer.

I think he sent the btc to himself the first time from this address (1NYT1f6Mbty6iZiHPQtM5fDSmSKk6e2HKN) to this address (16j8aThXJfgFkLbcf4pAASpKKYwBnnUf2q) through this transaction https://blockchain.info/fr/tx/7d0c91dec0cf63399bd5f368973b892bae8a66cec83e7ce802cd4d5698f5bfa1
We can't really know for sure what happened nor what the idea behind all of this was. I've read up on the "wedding proposal" story, and definitely think that it's fake. There are just many possible reasons for which they may have done this (both legitimate and illegitimate) and speculating won't bring much anyways.
10707  Other / Meta / Re: Server time acting wierd ? ??? on: September 10, 2016, 11:11:43 AM
I'm not sure what's supposed to be wrong here?

The equivalent to 12:52 AM is 00:52. 07:19 AM is the equivalent of 07:19, ergo it is the same day.
10708  Other / Meta / Re: Should we change our passwords? on: September 10, 2016, 08:20:30 AM
A DDoS only makes the service unavailable temporarily as it overloads the infrastructure. It does not, in any way, compromise data. Therefore the answer to your question is no. However, it is good practice to change your password from time to time.
10709  Other / Meta / Re: Recovering my account IRam66680 on: September 10, 2016, 06:20:31 AM
If my account was hacked would this speed up the process of getting my account back?
It's more of a case-by-case basis actually.

I signed a message already and have been waiting for someone to contact me for over a month now. Undecided
The problem here is that you've used "Strongcoin wallet" to create a message. An admin would have to either:
1) Download an additional wallet.
2) Rely on someone elses ' word' for verification.

Isn't there a Bitcoin address on that account that you could sign a message from?
10710  Other / Meta / Re: I want to change my name. on: September 10, 2016, 06:13:04 AM
Unless you have reported a large number of posts, have contributed to the moderation in some other way, have invested a significant amount of your time in helping the Bitcoin community in one way or another, or have an extensive trading history, or run some kind of Bitcoin related business, the chances of getting your username changed is basically zero.

Has theymos actually said this?
I don't think so. However, I guess it should be implicit in some way. Why should random members (e.g. which haven't contributed to the forum in any way or form be granted name changes when that's usually a function that required donating to the forum?

Seems like a few people have had their name changed recently. Not sure if Cyrus has been doing it or not. Not sure it's a good idea though either. Half the forum will then want their name changing and this can easily lead to confusion.
I don't think it's a good idea to have a lot of people change their names either.

10713  Other / Meta / Re: How to buy ads on the forum? on: September 08, 2016, 08:32:46 AM
I think the best option would be start a signature campaign here,it is one of the best ways to advertise your product, games or site, almost any thing.
No; please stop promoting spam, there's enough of that as it is.

I have seen this, just want to buy advertising, http://blockcdn.org/ is the new currency, how to contact the webmaster Thank you!
You want to buy advertising for a service that was spamming the forum with these ads from dozens of accounts? A lot of new accounts were banned because of "blockcdn" spam.

10714  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk again hacked? on: September 08, 2016, 08:30:30 AM
I highly doubt that this is a 'fresh dump'. Besides, after quickly skimming through most of those accounts, they seem to be random people. Examples of accounts that I tried to log in to:
Quote
sonnyacg|honeybees|sonnyacg@yahoo.com
somethingmad|vipowered91|halidanov@gmail.com
Patrikosz22|cfb9e62d|Patrikosz22@gmail.com
Those did work, but were all either brand new or newbies.
