Solution: Hire an escrow service.
10762  Other / Meta / Re: Section for established vendors? on: July 14, 2013, 11:01:25 AM
This sounds like a good idea on its surface, but IMO it will end up being another backroom circle jerk goodolboys club. We don't need any more of that here. Established venders have plenty in their marketing budgets to market their goods. The point of Bitcoin is it is distributed and accessible to all. Giving larger vendors a louder voice when selling here makes it harder for all the individual traders to compete. Large venders have many venues, individuals don't. I think a sticky might be in order but not an entire section. This forum already has 8 billion subsections anyway.
10763  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB]Need someone to buy selective herbicide (Killex) for me - Canada on: July 13, 2013, 08:40:28 AM
2,4-D based herbicides (brand names "Weed B Gon MAX", "PAR III", "Trillion", "Tri-Kil", "Killex" and "Weedaway Premium 3-Way XP Turf Herbicide") are banned in Ontario. Canadian Tire has a 1L concentrate bottle for $20. If you live in a province where it isn't banned, I'm willing to pay a premium for you to purchase and ship it to me. PM me if interested. I strongly recommend Canadian residents only, because international shipments may be inspected by customs.

So you are publicly asking for assistance in committing a crime in your local jurisdiction?
10764  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] HB Pencil on: July 13, 2013, 08:38:29 AM
the current spot price of lead is 0.00001 therefore this pencil is clearly worth no more than the lead it contains.
Too bad modern pencils are made from GRAPHITE!

10769  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Obama signs executive order to allow shutdown of all US communications on: July 12, 2013, 07:49:20 AM
"In explaining the order, the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) writes that the president has authorized the DHS "the authority to seize private facilities when necessary, effectively shutting down or limiting civilian communications." "

If anyone has a copy of the actual order I would love to read it.

10775  Other / Politics & Society / Re: U.S. Postal Service Logging All Mail for Law Enforcement on: July 10, 2013, 01:37:25 AM
Tracking mail for delivery and tracking mail regardless if it has tracking services, building a giant database, and handing it off to 3rd parties is different than signing up for a requested service. Information is already leaking out that the prism system is being used to collect information to sell to PRIVATE INDUSTRY to the highest bidder. In addition people don't realize how detailed of a profile of somone's life one can make with such little bits of information, and how easily that information can be used to hurt you regardless of the legality of your activities.
Source?

Just like before this whole PRISM scandal "broke" in the mainstream press, anyone who bothered to look could have found this information. Perhaps you should go look for yourself instead of expecting people to spoon feed you information which you will immediately decry and deny its relevance because it wasn't on CNN.  I know the intelligence community loves to use its own mass media tools to expose itself and make its own job harder. Makes sense right? Go do your homework instead of asking some one else to do it for you. I don't give a shit if you believe me. This is laziness disguised as skepticism.

This sure was a alot of words to say "I don't have a reliable source."

Right because leaks are always verified by several reputable mainstream media sources immediately right? Oh wait reporters who publish those kind of stories die in fiery car wrecks, get poisoned with polonium, or just disappear. It is a fact that they use contractors to implement many of these systems. Do you really think they can be trusted to not only keep this data from leaking, but be trusted not to sell highly lucrative data to third parties? All you have to do is open your eyes to see the free for all. I am not going to string a bunch of bits of information together for you to take potshots at so that you can do that rather than exercise common sense and analyze the situation with your own ability for critical thought.
10776  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Canon 60D + Tamron 17-50mm 2.8 - $900 on: July 09, 2013, 05:32:14 PM
only scammers so far between here and craigslist

next! bump

That's because you are asking too much. Camera equipment devalues the moment you take it out of the box regardless of how much you use it. For this price some one could get a brand new top of the line consumer grade SLR, and used lenses are cheap. You wont get your asking price here or anywhere.
10777  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [Trading] GPUs for Block Eruptor USBs on: July 09, 2013, 05:20:37 PM
Tecshare and I have come to a trade agreement of three video cards for two Block Eruptor USBs, figured documenting it here might be a good idea.

The video cards consist of two 5870s and one 5830. One 5870 is in great condition, the other 5870s shroud is broken off of it (duck tape fixes anything Tongue) and the 5830's fan is bad so I have removed the shroud and fan and zip tied on an 80mm case fan- the old fan and the shroud are both being included.
Confirming our agreement here.

10780  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Instead of Prisons? on: July 07, 2013, 09:20:16 PM
Why are punishments almost always centered around revenge rather than restitution for the victims? maybe Jake needs mandatory employment working for the victim until he works off a suitable sum in proportion to the damages caused? In the case of murder, in many states they take the life of the murderer. Why not take that life and put it to constructive use rather than just ending life in revenge?
