bid and ask sums are non important. they do not tell anything as they will be pulled and increased when needed. every piece of information is important If you check the bid sum / ask sum charts, you'll see that the price has usually been between 1 / 3 to 1 / 2 of the ratio. This puts the 'target' price right now between 320$ and 480$. And possibly lower once the avalanche of coins starts. if believe that, then you can still use the information provided, just remeber to understand it in that context FYFI the bids and asks are real, but ya poeple constantly pulls orders and place then again, this is what good traders do... |

It is apparent that our views are different. My belief on the economy of bitcoin relates to the value of the underlying protocol, not the miners reward that we are trading here. I won't change your mind, you won't change mine, so let's agree to hold this type of argument somewhere else besides in the speculation thread. If everyone buys and holds then merchants don't get any coins at all. Someone has to buy and sell or there is no currency. If you look at the current state of xbt you will likely conclude that it behaves more as a commodity than a currency. My opinion, your mileage may vary. Guess you don't understand why bitcoin have to have high price (and stable) so it's economy can function, do you? its so easy to sell bitcoin for dollars in an instant, and with services like bitpay... the argument that bitcoin can't function as money because its moves up and down is simply not true. money is power and with only 10BTC i have the power to make you jump up and down for hours DAYS on end.  |

i think bid depth is seriously underplayed whales are playing it cool and waiting for the market to drop and consolidate as low as possible b4 they sound the bull horn. despite this, the price is holding up it can't last forever... but its still remarkable! |
