10781  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ibrahimovic under FIFA and UEFA investigation on: April 15, 2021, 03:03:25 AM
€100 million sounds excessive for me. And the charges are not that serious. It is not like he was involved in match fixing or anything. He indirectly owned shares in a betting firm, and I don't think that it warrants such a huge penalty. And even if the FIFA or UEFA imposes such a huge fine, why should he agree to pay that? He is already 39-years old and his career is coming to an end. He could just refuse to pay the fine.
10782  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 15, 2021, 02:53:41 AM
I agree, SA should of scored more in this match however I think the Pakistan bowlers bowled well at the vital times during the match which is why the SA middle order couldn't put any partnerships together and get to 220 - 230 runs. It was a good team performance by Pakistan and in the end they dominated SA with their batting. Normally the series would be over but as this series is a 4 match series, SA still have a chance to draw the series.

Yeah.. Pakistan is leading the series 2-1 and if South Africa manages to win the 4th match, then the series will be drawn. Overall, it is a very good series for Pakistan. They won the ODI series 2-1, and they have a good chance of winning the T20I series as well. On the other hand, South Africa needs to self-introspect about why they performed so poorly. Their batting seems to be OK, but the bowlers are leaking too many runs.
10783  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BNB will remain valuable for a long time on: April 14, 2021, 06:19:19 AM
Agree, i think BSC will dethrone ETH in the next few years and it will be so easy for BNB to take the second place in cmc from ETH, if ETH can't fixed the fee issue damn, it will be so bad for their future.

Ethereum developers are just digging their own grave by trying delaying tactics and taking no action against the extremely high gas fee. Many of the bounty hunters can't even sell their tokens due to the high transaction fee. And the developers are completely blind to this, and they are giving the excuse that the fee will get lower after the London hard fork or by 2023 or 2024. These are just delaying tactics and they don't want to act against the high fees.
10784  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2021-03-03 Coindesk - Warren Says Yellen Left No Room for Ambiguity on: April 14, 2021, 05:58:44 AM
@Sithara007. Agreed. Bitcoin would be very successful if your measurement of success is the pump on the price. However, would everyone consider it a success if it becomes the elite's playground or something reduced only as a speculative investment?

What is wrong if Bitcoin is being used as a speculative investment? That is the case for the past decade, although there are other uses as well. There is no requirement that Bitcoin should be used exclusively as a medium for payment. If Bitcoin is being used primarily as an investment asset, that doesn't mean that it will be no longer used for making payments. If a pump occurs, it is beneficial for everyone. At least we could say that the benefits outweigh the detriments.
10785  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invested in alt in 2017 ..and now need help to dont do same mistake on: April 14, 2021, 05:45:10 AM
I made my first investment with cryptocurrency long back in 2012. And back then I invested in more than a dozen coins (apart from Bitcoin) and unfortunately most of them turned out to be shitcoins. Due to this bad experience I stayed away when ETH first went for the ICO in 2014. But that turned out to be a big mistake. And again I made the mistake in 2017, when I decided not to invest in new coins such as ADA, TRX and EOS.
10786  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs covid 19? on: April 14, 2021, 05:33:04 AM
I think it will be the same. If there is news that the world is completely free from covid only with vaccines it is just fake news, it seems. Covid is very strong, even we have been living life with covid in the last 2 years.

Why do you think that it is fake news? In countries where the vaccination program is proceeding at a good pace, there have been a reduction in deaths due to COVID 19 by up to 98%. On the other hand, most of the deaths are now being reported from countries which have lagged behind in vaccination (Brazil, India, Mexico.etc). And one more thing.. increasingly younger people are dying of this virus, because most of the seniors have received vaccines by now.
10787  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can Dogecoin reach 1$ soon? on: April 14, 2021, 05:21:54 AM
If DOGE goes up by that much, then it will be ranked among the top 5 cryptocurrencies in terms of market capitalization. And I don't think that DOGE can achieve that, with such outdated technology. You guys are talking about an absolute shitcoin moving past third generation cryptocurrencies such as Cardano and Polkadot. Whatever DOGE has achieved so far, it is purely due to hype. In terms of technology and acceptance, it is far behind when compared to the other altcoins.
10788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt season NOw on: April 14, 2021, 05:11:26 AM
Yes, ETH and BNB are undoubtedly in terms of price increases at the moment, because they are both strong and competing fairly in terms of network development so they both have a good effect on prices in the market.

IMO, these two coins (Ethereum and Binance Coin) looks very overpriced. During the past few weeks, they have gone up (both against BTC and USD) by several times. A major driver has been the upcoming listing of Coinbase in the NASDAQ exchange. There is a lot of hype surrounding that and it has helped altcoins to move upwards. Now this dependency worries me. If something goes wrong with the listing, then we can expect a major crash.
10789  Economy / Economics / Re: donating 50% of the vaccines purchased to the government. on: April 14, 2021, 04:45:51 AM
That's the problem, the stupid government is so incompetent that they didn't get the first batch of vaccine knowing the fact that they are limited since the production isn't polished yet. I wouldn't necessarily say that my country has difficulty because the pharmaceutical companies were the ones that approached and all they need is a simple paper of authorization and they didn't do it.

Hmm.. I heard that the Brazilian president (Jair Bolsonaro) turned down an offer from Pfizer to purchase a few million vaccine doses in 2020. I don't know whether the same incident happened with your country or not. But these are big blunders and now it is not possible to secure enough doses. Almost all the vaccine manufacturers are facing bottlenecks in their production and previously signed contracts are not being fulfilled. So any new contracts are not being considered for now.
10790  Economy / Economics / Re: Nigeria will overtake India in P2P on: April 14, 2021, 04:25:36 AM
I doubt they would. Being the 2nd most populated country in the world means many people there are holding crypto as of now specially that India's government withdraw the restrictions of holding cryptocurrency in their country and that was in 2020. More and more will probably be seeing now the future of cryptocurrency due to the effects of pandemic.

Even when the government was threatening to jail anyone who are holding Bitcoin in India, the local cryptocurrency exchanges were witnessing millions newly registering to their platforms. Now the government seems to have toned down their stance. But overall, their hostility just ended up in making Bitcoin more popular among the Indians (and probably some of the government members took notice of that). Actually government is not the problem. The main issue lies with the bureaucrats, who have been pushing for these anti-Bitcoin measures.
10791  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: April 14, 2021, 03:58:27 AM
I hope Germany will be able to make a comeback. Their next match is against the weakest team that is participating in this qualifying tournament (Liechtenstein). A 10-0 or 12-0 win against Liechtenstein can boost the morale of the team. And after that they have two more matches in September, against Armenia and Iceland. Armenia is unbeaten so far, and they have defeated Romania, Iceland and Liechtenstein.
10792  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 14, 2021, 03:40:24 AM
Well, Rohit Sharma got the most trophies in IPL even than Dhoni means he got something and today KKR lost the match which is at the hands until 17th over of the second innings. Russel shine with the ball but extremely poor with the bat, he was one of the most destructive IPL batsman but now he is one of the reason why KKR lost the match tonight.
KKR had a bad track record against Mumbai Indians and they lost 9 matches in the past 10 they played and i was expecting a change in that regard and when KKR bowled well and was able to restrict Mumbai Indians for 152 runs i thought they would win the match as KKR has the batting power to chase a score like that and since they could not chase a small total then there is no way they are going to defeat them in this season as well.

Now Mumbai Indians have made it 10 out of the last 11 matches between the two sides. Rather than the good bowling (initially from Rahul Chahar, and then from Bumrah and Boult), the real reason why KKR lost the match was due to poor batting from their middle order. Dinesh Karthik and Andre Russel were scoring at less than one run a ball, when the required run rate was close to 10 runs per over. All the hard work done by the top order was wasted by the middle and lower order.
10793  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt season NOw on: April 13, 2021, 04:27:55 AM
It should be the altcoin that is not yet pumped to surpass ATH.

I can't give you the name of altcoin but you can try to take a look at the top 100 coins and you will be seeing it which altcoins that is not yet pumping. I think that can be searched easily when you wanna spend your effort to find that on CMC.

From my experience here, I would say that this is the wrong strategy. If a particular altcoin is not going up when the others are getting pumped, in all probability that may be due to the fact that it's development is stagnant. So there is a very good chance that you will lose your capital in case you make an investment with such coins. So unless you have a solid reason to make an investment with such altcoins, please stay away from them.
10794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will BNB become the king of all coins on: April 13, 2021, 04:17:19 AM
Binance is like Amazon in the world of cryptocurrency. It is the most popular cryptocurrency exchange and other competitors are far behind. But here we are talking about a possibility of BNB overtaking all the other cryptocurrencies (including BTC). I don't think that it is going to happen soon. If Binance is the Amazon (AMZN) in cryptocurrency market, then Bitcoin is Apple (AAPL). Both are having their own specific domains, and one of them is not going to replace the other.
10795  Economy / Speculation / Re: Someone Big Again Just Bought 12600 Bitcoin at 60k on: April 13, 2021, 04:06:28 AM
The only reason stopping people from going all in right now is the price.

Well.. this is true. I have heard from a lot of new users that they are opting for altcoins, because Bitcoin is too overpriced now. I tried to convince some of them that rather than looking at the unit price, they should pay attention to the market cap. But it is very difficult to convince these people. Also, the Bitcoin dominance (54%) is much lower when compared to its userbase. Altcoins make up 46% of the total cryptocurrency market cap, but in real life usage they have less than 10% share.
10796  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are people still buying XRP? on: April 13, 2021, 03:56:40 AM
One of the biggest advantages with XRP is that it's unit price is very low. And that works, because in cryptocurrency sector unfortunately we have a lot of people who don't know the relationship between unit price, market cap and circulating supply. A lot of them go for Ripple, because it's unit price is less than $1.00 per token. And combined with the social media propaganda in favor of XRP, a lot of people get fooled. But eventually they will lose money, as happened when XRP crashed from 3,500 Sat to less than 1,000 Sat after the SEC ruling.
10797  Economy / Economics / Re: Russia; The digital ruble will be launched in 2023 on: April 13, 2021, 03:46:19 AM
if they can allow crypto to still coexist when their CBDC is implemented in their society, then that's good.
the government will have all the control over their people thru this CBDC but it's what governments do, they can't allow anarchy. there is no good or bad country but their government will do what they have to do for their race to survive. lucky are the Russians their government can even produce their own covid vaccine.

The Russian parliament recently introduced a bill, which makes Bitcoin a fully legal and regulated asset. So I don't think that they want to discourage the usage of cryptocurrency. The approach taken by the Russian government is in stark contrast to third world countries such as India and Bangladesh, which have tried to ban cryptocurrency. That makes the Russian CBDC different from the rest. China was the first country to come up with a CBDC. But even there, they have a lot of restrictions on cryptocurrency.
10798  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BNB still undervalue on: April 13, 2021, 03:36:46 AM
LOL.. this thread was created two weeks ago, and back then the BNB exchange rate was $272 per coin. As per Coinmarketcap, the latest exchange rate is $576 per coin, which represents a 111% increase in a span of just two weeks. There is no doubt that most of this bull run can be attributed to the upcoming listing of Coinbase in NASDAQ. Now the question is what will happen to BNB, in case the Coinbase listing flops. Also, the 15th BNB burn event is very near. That also could have had its impact.
10799  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid virus 2021 on: April 13, 2021, 03:25:45 AM
It's just that this pandemic came quite unexpectedly and the world was not ready for such a scale. Therefore, the development, and most importantly, the production and distribution of vaccines need time and money, as well as, oddly enough, political will. When faced with such a threat, there is still a political squabble about the distribution and production of the vaccine. The world will certainly defeat the pandemic, but it will take time for the necessary number of people to be vaccinated, and in the meantime we will have to put up with the inconvenience and hope for the best.

Political interference during the COVID 19 pandemic has cost lives. For example, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) has refused to approve the Sputnik V vaccine from Russia, just because of political issues. The vaccine has been proved to be having 92% efficiency, but for now the Europeans are being forced to use the vaccine from AstraZeneca, which is having an efficacy of only 62%. Similarly, the Indian government refused to allow Sputnik V for so long, before approving it yesterday. But a lot of lives could have been saved, if it was approved earlier.
10800  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs covid 19? on: April 13, 2021, 03:14:22 AM
In my opinion, I really don't think that the pandemic nor the vaccines being distributed will make a difference in the price of Bitcoin. We might be able to see a correction in a few months once the bull period is over and the correction might be not that bad at all but of course this will force many of the new players to wait for a long time, like the old ones waiting for 10 years before they were able to make very good profits on crypto.

A correction needs to happen, after such a prolonged bull run. But the question is at which point it is going to happen. It can happen at 60K. Or it can happen after Bitcoin hits a price of $100,000. Or it may happen after $300,000. The simple fact is that correction will not occur as long as increasing number of users are accumulating the coins due to the FOMO sentiment. Even if a correction occurs sometime soon, it is going to be a short term phenomenon.
