I got picked for the bundle that you wanted Phil.  The MSI 3070 with the OLOy memory.

did you buy it?
10782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining rig freezes every 2-3 days on: March 04, 2021, 03:08:28 AM
drop  memory ram to 1000 see what happens

drop power to 120

do -400 core for the 3060 ti

do -300 core for the 3070
if it crashes more
consider phoenix

if it crashes with phoenix try doing smos and use phoenix

what pool?

I have two boards that drop out.

Over the 9 years of gpu mining I have had 5 or 6 boards with your issue.

sometimes it is psu
sometimes it is riser
sometimes it is gpu
sometimes it is mobo and just skip one connection pcie

sometimes no matter what you do the mobo won’t stay up.

Ive been wanting to take time off but I cant until my exit, bounce buy, bounce sell, and re-entry from the crash

You are assuming you will be able to exit at the top.... how?
Trailing stop, or something like that. Right now I keep manually adjusting my stop to important levels I know would not be good to break like right now it is 18500.

Even if I miss it it'll still create huge waves I'll be able to trade and waves in altcoins that I can margin trade regardless of my position.

Lack of Tera2 in this thread is approaching distressing levels. Who will make the topcall within 5% ??

75-80k. once we get there put in a stop at 65k

my wife’s birthday marks the first day over 50 k in march.

I am hoping to get past   60k by spring.
10785  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Canaan Avalon 1246 Temperature Anomaly? on: March 04, 2021, 02:13:47 AM
re: thermal pads - if needed yes they will bridge gaps better than paste BUT - that ability comes at the expense of added thermal resistance. Assuming the fitup between chip and heat sink is good (flat contact with no gaps) using a SLIGHT amount of paste is better.

FYI: The design goal of thermal paste is to fill microscopic pits/pores in very flat surfaces that fit together well. It is not for filling voids or gaps and as such only minimal amounts are to be used.

hopfully the case is some underapplied paste vs a slight dip in the heatsink of pcb board.

i would go paste first them switch to a pad if paste does not help.

lastly it could be a shitty chip and paste or pad does not help.
10786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: March 04, 2021, 12:38:45 AM
Thanks for your reply, but want it "anonym" so viabtc is not my way Sad
This is a choice each and every miner needs to make. I suppose it varies from country to country as to what is best. Since I am USA based and am locked into system due to my age of 64

(next year is social security)

I pay taxes and report the income.

10787  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: XMR RandomX mining with Ryzen 3900x on: March 03, 2021, 11:35:50 PM
Okay you need to clock the cpu miner use ryzen master software.

set freq to 3300

and set volts to 1.1

it gives a constant temp reading for the cpu

Mine stay at 60c and do 10500-11000 for days on end.

if you drift up near 85c they will throttle.

what is your cooler.

other option is a killer diller cooler and they are far and few in-between as many water coolers cover only 90% of the chip I use this huge air cooler

https://www.amazon.com/quiet-Dark-Rock-BK022-Cooler/dp/B07BY6F8D9/ref=sr_1_1?

as it covers the chip
10788  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Canaan Avalon 1246 Temperature Anomaly? on: March 03, 2021, 11:29:08 PM
possibly a pad like this

https://www.newegg.com/arctic-actpd00011a/p/2MB-000F-00063

sometimes it is a larger gap and thermal pads work better.
10789  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ways to make card last longer on: March 03, 2021, 09:59:33 PM
Sooner or later the fans will start to fail.
I have cards that run for years and some not.
Zotac 1070 Minis were a nightmare.
Go for cards with a big heatsink and 3 Fans.
Temperature is a really big point.
Old founder editions with 1 fan never failed but have got the highest temperature.
My 1080 rigs run now for....mmmmh when did they come out? 2016 ? Still running, watercooled since 1. day.

ZOTAC mining fans suck on many of their models.

gigabyte has shiitty fans unless it is the AORUS

Asus Dual model cards suck. I have always had poor luck with them.

Of the three above I still buy the zotac minis and always keep some spare fans for them. sometimes that small size is hard to resist buying.

I never buy asus dual or any gigabyte cards

U mean fan speed? min 35% and max 90%?

yeah
10792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Ways to make card last longer on: March 03, 2021, 04:37:29 PM
Hi, I'm new to mining and I started mining just yesterday with my single 3070 founders edition in HiveOS. I wanted to know a few things but before that have a look at my settings:

Now what I want is to my card last me forever (long enough for it to lose its value and become obsolete) and for it to last that long I heard keeping it cool and making fan not running at 100% is the key because I don't want to lose my fan either. I don't really mind if its not running the maximum hashrate it can get. I'm not a professional miner, I'm just doing this as a hobby and that's the reason I want my card to be safe. Could you guys please look at the charts and tell me what needs to be changed? What is the best core temperature and best memory temperature for the card for keeping it safe? what's the best autofan settings to keep my fan safe?. Any additional tips and tricks are always welcome. Sorry if some of the question seems stupid, this is my first time mining and I learned what I could from youtube but it doesn't explain everything. Thank you very much.

Do 35 to 90 %

See if the miner has a 85C shutdown just in case of a fail of some kind.

and set card to run at 70c

I'm selling almost every day (DCA) to pay for our lake.

Golden asteroids bro golden.

This is why they are racing towards Mars

Mars Is nicer than the moon. Actually has wind and an atmosphere.  They will set up a mining base camp there.  Load it up with gold as it is easier and safer to do it there.  This will make gold as common as copper.

If your realize that gold is godlike in its ability to work with electrical systems when compared to lead or copper.  The world will finally be able to have cheap world wide power.

The big issues are how soon will it happen? (10-40 years my guess)
What to do with all the wealth stored in gold? Move it to btc over the next 0-10 years if you have brains.

So I can see 11 trillion gold cap shifting into the 1 trillion btc cap.

All smart forward thinking wealthy mofos see this.

If they are heavy into gold they will be slowly moving it into BTC So BTC now has an easy path to 5x or 10x its current numbers.

buy and hodl

Problem with heavy stuff on other planets is that it's incredibly expensive to move it here. That is, as long as energy is as expensive as it is. But then again, with near free energy we could make any material we wanted right here.

Edit: although this does spell good news for the future power grid on Mars.

It would make space for expansion. I have to think on the edge which it is obviously what I am doing.

But if you have 25 billion in gold right now. You read this you are shifting some of the money to BTC as I type.

BTC can be used as the financial tool to convert to gold over lead and copper for electrical purposes.

10794  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Feeler bids or offers for evga 3080 & msi/corsair 1080ti seahawk on: March 03, 2021, 03:12:12 PM

A 1080ti  = 42-45mh
a 3080.   = 92-95mh  if you hit a fan at this it can do 97

so 134mh and about 500 watts at the wall at worst

say 6 or 7 kwatts a day at 20 cents. = $1.40

Feb 27  12.44  based on $ 0.1033 an mh
Feb 28  10.76  based on $ 0.0908 an mh
March 1 10.39 based on $ 0.0880 an mh
March 2 10.94 based on $ 0.0921 an mh
total.     44.53 4 days at 20 cent power.  I will keep a running total should be fun to see if buyers are stupid or smart to buy it or not buy it. Far too early to tell.

So four days since offer to bid is place here prices still sky high on ebay
And a 20 cent miner would be 44.53 in their pocket.

So is not buying this smart or dumb?

We will know sooner or later.

viabtc is not possible without account to mine ETH, and get BTC on your wallet?
Must verificate with ID for this?

Thanks Smiley

Viabtc does not auto change coins to btc.

Ie I mine

LTC/Doge
BTC
ETH

I send to my wallets every once in a while.

if you mine at viabtc.com

you will need to give a phone number and an email

along with sign up for an account

if you choose to  do that do it with my referral link

Referral Code: 253724

https://www.viabtc.com/signup?refer=253724

I get a piece of your fees your fees do not increase they stay the same.

BTW in no way do I complain about lack of referral but no one has ever signed up and done a referral in the 5 years I have mentioned this on various threads.
I find it to be a bit sad. That no one not a single person ever did it.

Many years ago like 2013 a few people signed up with my link for another mining company I made about 100 or 200 worth of coin from 2013 to 2015.

I have started a few hundred people in mining with these alt coin threads and not one person ever did a referral.

Would be fun to see at least one or two that did it.
10798  Economy / Speculation / Re: Top 20 days for Bitcoin on: March 03, 2021, 03:47:50 AM

Sorry I'm late ...  Undecided ... updated Tues 1 Mar:

Weds 10 Feb - all the USD 15K days are gone - ✅
Fri 19 Feb - all EUR 13k days are gone - ✅
Sat 20 Feb - top 50 days all in 2021 - ✅
Weds 24 Feb - all GBP 12k days are gone - ✅
Mon 1 Mar - two straight months at the top of the table - ✅
Sat 27 Mar - the last 2017 high (JPY 2,208,232) drops off the table - 25 days to go
Thur 1 Apr - three straight months at the top of the table - 30 days to go
Sun 11 Apr - top 100 days all in 2021 - 40 days to go

Five down ... maybe I'm wrong but I am slightly comforted by the fact that price is moving both up and down ... I get worried when it only goes one way ...  Grin

Sideways a little a little down is actually the best movement of all for me and my partners.

Although explosive growth is okay. All of march can meander about than April 1 to April 15th we can shoot up above  and beyond 60k

I think there is a 78 day streak for USD.

2020-12-15 19,341  was a New ATH  and we have had every day in a row since that ATH was set stay above it.  This is quite remarkable.

And of course we have a 77 day streak above 20k usd. Which has been mentioned.

Well.. sh!t... at least I'm starting to make sense to some of you. Cheesy Cheesy
You are not making any senses merely because you say one thing that happens to be coherent.
Man... this is not a support group here!!! THis is Not f^cking AA for BTCiTcoin!!!!!!  Grin  Grin
Well, I beg to differ....Me... “Hi, I’m sirazimuth and I’m a bitcoin junkie....”Wo bros (in unison)...“HI SIRAZIMUTH!!!”
Fuck off!!!!!!

Trying to establish, if it does not already exist, the "this is not a support group" theory... not that I want to agree with goofball Save the RF about anything.

Dammit Jay, you hurt my whittle feewings. I thought this was my lil safe space....
Nope.   Tongue TongueShould give you a batmanslap too.... just for funzies.

In hindsight, I suppose if one has never experienced a standard “substance abuse” meeting routine,
I can totally understand my silly AA joke going whoosh....

It is an Okay joke I got it, but it only fits for losers.  you know the mindrust's of BTC.I am a successful Nicotine Anonymous Member.  I quit using nicotine on Feb 29 1996 using the fellowship.

If BTC is helping your life you don't need BTC anonymous or BTCA.  But I would think both mindrust and  calling the top at 16k guy Egbert should both join BTCA

It's fairly certain we're going up. Unless we go down. If neither of those happen, we're definitely going sideways.

Sideways it is Grin
