Extremely sorry man was pretty tied up with some stuff these days. Moreover, I thought IPL isn't starting until mid-April didn't know it was starting early this time.  Thanks for your PM. Please add my name into the pool, I have transferred the fees: Hash: https://www.blockchain.com/btc/tx/45c721324766d8b5a05cfe9e84e1971e1721f7dc05744b5612de27150e9fd1da . I think I am in time Cheesy . Let the game begin. Without Kohli & Dhoni Captaining their sides this time, it's really is a new age of IPL from this season onwards. Where is Vishnu this time? is he not joining?
That's completely fine bhai and welcome again. I've noticed that you and 1 more participant probably @Vaskiy still didn't join the pool on superbru  . I've already sent the pool link via pms so please make sure to "Click" and "Join" on timely manner.  Wink

As i recall you followed the same pattern during last WC too and missed the couple of matches.  Huh

Haha yes I remember bro actually since last year I have moved away from my hometown to new place for my job which is why I have become pretty busy, but yes the advantage of being in this city is that I might get to see IPL live in the stadium this time Cheesy I'll ping webtricks tomorrow morning and ask whether he wants to join in or not. Looks like he too has been quite inactive on forum these days.
1082  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Crypto Signals trading on: March 25, 2022, 05:19:57 PM
Hello,
Does anyone know a very good Cryto signals group for scalping ?

I found so many, some are scam and some without results.
All of them are scam. Trust me 100% of them are scam. Even if they are not scam you surely won't be able to make profit from them so for you they are as good as a scam only. Especially for scalping there is no way you can rely on a signals channel, the moment you'll start buying based on a signal price would have already moved, moreover signal channels will give a you a certain take profit and even if the trade doesn't hits the TP they will still consider that as a profitable trade no matter if trade went to hit SL just points before hitting the TP. All the channels do this. Better is to learn trading yourself and then do trading.
1083  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How would crypto fare without centralized exchanges? on: March 25, 2022, 04:29:22 PM
If crypto becomes extremely popular in the future (widely adopted by a vast majority of people worldwide), it's probable governments will turn against it. They can pressure centralized exchanges to close up shop or face serious consequences in the long run. After all, these exchanges are the on and off ramps from the crypto world to the Fiat world. While not every country is against crypto, they might change their stance once they see Russia using it as a means to avoid sanctions.

Imagine if most countries unilaterally agree on banning centralized exchanges for good. Will that mean the end of crypto for good (even though it would still be possible to get some crypto through decentralized exchanges)? After all, most people will be afraid of using crypto if it's declared "illegal". The ban of centralized exchanges will surely topple crypto prices, signaling fear among investors and traders alike.

What are your thoughts? Huh
If centralised exchanges are banned, i am very sure that founders of these centralized exchanges themselves would create decentralised exchanges which could work much better than or atleast at par with the centralised exchanges of today. The only problem that decentralised exchanges face is the volume and fees, volume problem will automatically get solved if centralised exchanges are ban and fees problem can be solved by using a coin with low fees.
1084  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Crypto ads targeted NBA? on: March 25, 2022, 04:24:59 PM
I was watching some NBA highlights and in this video, I saw the "FTX" in the background and I was happy so I shared it here.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zF-L2_obmBo

Out of curiosity, do you guys have an idea of what crypto projects are using NBA for advertising?
I know this entails big money, so projects who can afford to advertise in NBA are mostly a real deal project for sure.
Are you watching it for the first time? FTX sponsored the whole cricket world cup T20 the previous year and even have become official sponsor of ICC which is the international cricket council, I personally think FTX is now a global giant it's not just limited to crypto as is expanding it's advertisement in all the spheres of world. And sponsorships of these events is really expensive so FTX is spending a huge money on it's promotion.

Did you reach all of them through PM or just trying to mention them with a hope that they all are using a mention bot; forum doesn’t have any mention notification. It would be better if you invite them through a PM.

BTW, if I'm correct, Royse have a channel on telegram for this which I guess most of us have subscribed. Royse can announce this in his channel as well.
Haan bhai, sent pms to everyone who voted for the fees.

1086  Local / India / Re: Tax on Crypto Trading as per New Tax Law - Explained on: March 24, 2022, 06:50:49 PM
Preface: To keep the thread short and readable, I have decided to cover one issue in each thread. This thread specifically covers the taxation on profits earned by crypto traders and investors as per the bill announced in the recent budget. I will cover the taxation on other incomes in the future threads.

Government has finally announced the specific section for the taxation of cryptocurrencies. However, the budget speech was bit ambiguous especially about no loss set-off rule so it took me a little digging and discussion with other professionals to finally understand the whole new taxation proposal (remember it's still a proposal, bill is not yet passed in the Parliament). In this thread, I will be discussing the new proposed section i.e. Section 115BBH and how will it effect the profits earned by traders and investors.

If I summarize the section in a single line then 'every realized gain made by a trader is taxable @30%'. However, it raises several questions so let's answer them one by one:

Question 1: What is a realized gain?
Answer: A financial year runs from April 1st to March 31st. If you buy BTC on 1st October for ₹20 lakh and sell it on 1st January for ₹30 lakh then this is called a realized gain and you have to pay tax on the profit of ₹10 lakh. However, if you don't sell the BTC and its value increases to ₹35 lakh on 31st March then ₹15 lakh is your unrealized gain and no tax is to be paid.

Question 2: How to calculate my gains?
Answer: Every investment is a separate taxable event. To calculate profits, you have to see every crypto investment of yours in an isolation. Profit is the difference between the price at which an investment is sold and the price at which it was bought (i.e. cost of acquisition). Calculation gain on each of your investment sold during the year, club all the gains and pay tax on the aggregate profit.

Question 3: Do I have to pay tax only when I realized the money in INR i.e. withdraw the money to the bank?
Answer: No, you have to pay tax every time you make a realized gain, there is no condition that the amount has to be withdrawn to the bank. Section 115BBH specifically includes this statment - 'income from the transfer of any virtual digital asset'. Here's an excerpt from the definition of transfer as per Section 2(47):

The word 'exchange' covers all transactions related to converting one cryptocurrency to another. So, if you purchase ETH for 2000 USDT and then sell it for 2300 USDT, you still have to pay tax on 300 USDT even when you haven't realized USDT to INR. Keep this in consideration when you are doing trading on the exchanges like WazirX, every sale/purchase transaction will be considered for taxation even when you haven't withdrawn any profit to the bank.

Question 4: Am I allowed to set-off loss made on one trade with the profit made on another crypto trade?
Answer: This is probably the most asked question by the traders since the proposed bill is out and to be honest government itself made it very unclear in the bill. I will be discussing this as per my understanding and I maybe wrong on this one. Let us first see the sub-section (2) of Section 115BBH where it is announced:

The clause (a) made it very clear that nothing is allowed to be deducted against the profit earned from crypto trade except cost of acquisition i.e. the buy price. However, clause (b) contradicts the above clause. It states that any loss from the crypto trade cannot be set-off against any income under any other provision of the act. The term 'other' here signifies that loss cannot be set-off against any income other than the crypto income which means that the loss from the one trade can be set-off from the profit made on the other crypto trade.

My take: Investors will be allowed to set-off losses from the profits and they will only have to pay tax on the net profits earned during the year. The clause (a) has a typo and most probably will be rectified and the term 'other' will be included in the first clause as well when the act will be enacted in March 2022.

If you have any question related to taxation on crypto trading and investment, feel free to ask in the thread.

@webtricks. can one off-set losses if they invested in a coin that went all the way to zero or rug-pulled?

No you can't, and this is really the biggest problem with the law. Your profit would be treated as a standalone profit and your losses won't be considered as a loss while filing your tax return. This means even if you incur a loss after you have made a profit, you'll still have to pay up the tax on that profit that you have made.

"no deduction in respect of any expenditure (other than cost of acquisition) or allowance or set off of any loss shall be allowed to the assessee under any provision of this Act in computing the income referred to in clause (a) of sub-section (1); "

This line makes it quite clear that no set off will be allowed against any gain that you have made in cryptos.
1087  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tradig Course - Beginner on: March 24, 2022, 06:45:43 PM
Hi Guys,

i have been in the crypto space for a while and started leverage trading a few months ago.

I come to find out i have to reevaluate my game and seriously need a beginner crypto trading course.
Does anybody know a good course for beginners? I would really appreciate your input.

I know, that all the Information is available for free if you do your own research, but due to job and family i have not too much time therefore i need it compressed in a course.

Thanks in advance.

Greetz
AD
Don't go for any course, if you need all the information in a structured and compressed manner just read this book: Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets: A Comprehensive Guide to Trading Methods and Applications. This is more or less a holy bible for Traders, it contains all the necessary information that you need to become a trader, it contains information regarding all the patterns, it contains information regarding all the indicators, it can even act as a reference book once you have completed your study. This one book is really equal to many intermediate courses. It's not that large a book can be completed in 15-20 days at maximum.
1088  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc and usdt people trust on: March 24, 2022, 06:31:15 PM
Traders and alot rich traders investors are in 2 things.
Btc and usdt as USDT is safe place to hold funds but how the exchangers protect this ?
Imagine if something happens with usdt many people will lose so much that they never cant deal with crypto anymore so what is the exvhangers security plan to fully protect customers ?
As myself fully depend on usdt thats how much i trust usdt and usdc also.

People want to be in crypto if they can funds in stable coins to give them safety but if usdt not safe as there is rumours about usdt then all the crypto game will be over.
I can never sleep well if i know my money will be in volatile coins so USDT is now very important and gives confidence for investors and crypto lovers such us myself
This is actually a very frightening thing, it becomes even scarier when you realize that USDT is controlled by just one exchange and it is responsible solely for maintaining its value, which means if someday something happens to that very exchange your USDT loses its value. And it's absolutely true that 70-80% of all the wealth of almost all the traders is kept in such stablecoins, which means one shock in such coins is enough to shake all your wealth, I remember such a thing happening a few years back when bitcoin jumped by almost 3000$ from 7k to around 9k after there was a news regarding some abnormality with USDT.
1089  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russian head of the committee on Energy about selling oil and gas in Bitcoin on: March 24, 2022, 06:25:23 PM
There’s an ongoing trending topic on tweeter about the video interview of RF head committee on Energy that they are considering assets like Bitcoin as payment for there oil and gas. The video is in Russian Language and still needs to be verify by Russian native speaker. This news maybe ignite the recent fluctuations on Bitcoin right now.

Anyone here can verify and translate the content of the video on source link: https://mobile.twitter.com/BitcoinComfy/status/1506982883076063236?s=20&t=wOZOKzpCqJ9SjG_J64-oaQ
This can't be true, because of a very simple reason, Russia currently wants its currency to recover a bit, after the recent economic sanctions it's currency is bleeding, the only way to strengthen your currency is by increasing exports in your own currency, or receiving payments in other foreign currencies in which you are due for repayments, economically it would make zero sense for them to receive anything in bitcoin because when you go to an open market to sell bitcoins, amount might be so high that you would end up paying huge sllippages on that moreover selling it to your own people would mean reducing the Money supply from their hands. So I don't really believe this is an official video.
1090  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If a WW3 Start, what will be the consequences for BITCOIN / ALTCOINS ? on: March 20, 2022, 05:05:15 PM
Hello all,

Since I am new BITCOIN investor, there is a big worry surrounding my mind...

With this war situation between Russia and Ukraine, what will be the consequences for the crypto market?

What if all or some of the infrastructure (www, nodes, etc.) are damaged?

I really believe and have hope this is will have a better end.

Please, give me your thoughts.

In general I feel crypto will always become more powerful in such anarchist situations such as wars and political instabilities, but Wars also cause destruction and the level of destruction of a 3rd world war is extremely hard to predict. moreover if you add the potential of a nuclear war the extent of destruction is unimaginable. So if bomb lands on the largest of mining companies you will surely see dips in prices but overall in the longer term after the war stops crypto will definitely become very strong.
1091  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: March 20, 2022, 05:01:38 PM
Another match up and another surprise from Bangladesh but i would say the pitch was turning a lot and it was a difficult pitch to bat and Bangladesh was wrong in assessing the pitch as they won the toss and elected to bat. If they would have sent South Africa to bat after winning the toss, i think the situation would have been different. Toss was crucial in a pitch like this and Bangladesh ended up in the receiving end.
Yeah, the pitch was difficult for batting and Bangladeshi openers failed to make a strong partnership today. The middle order batsmen tried to make Bangladesh alive in the game, but the target was really low. The captain of Bangladesh didn't expected such pitch. South Africa has won the match easily. The 3rd ODI match will determine the series winner. The match will be played in SuperSport Park cricket stadium, where the first ODI took place.
The inconsistency of Bangladeshi batting is the reason why world still doesn't thinks they are a good opponent at global level. On somedays you will see outstanding performances from their players and think that they are at par with the best teams of the world but some days you will think of them as underdogs playing just to give their best and don't actually have winning chances. 1st ODI they displayed sheer class but in second they failed miserably. A consistent team would play great on some days but play average on other days, and bad on few. There is nothing like average matches for Bangladesh.
1092  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins will explode in 2022? on: March 20, 2022, 04:56:09 PM
Which of these coins have the highest chance to 3x, 5x or even 10x in 2022? You can vote twice.

I am kind of curious about the development of ApeCoin (had a rough start though).
I think XTZ and DOT could be the ones which will moon again in 2022, primary reason is the development of Tezos is set to complete this year and DOT also has provided a great ecosystem to many projects based on NFT. Apart from this Gala is also another coin i have very high hopes from. It's honesty the only gaming coin I have in my portfolio, i think buzz of AXS is over now and people would switch to newer platforms and Gala can definitely be one of them.
1093  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation is trick for average joe but financial people know truth on: March 20, 2022, 03:42:53 PM
Average pleb the 9-5 kind of guy have idea how the finances working.
But but... we know central banks do rate hikes so it will decrease money supply we will have shortage of money ohh you not been told that this inflation is just temporary.
But in speed how the prices going up soon 90% people will be out of money its like in crypto we been learned assets prices been pumped up.
The money what was printed it will not last long much so you pay for all high prices as you been duped of this "inflation"

Oil energy food goods and all others is just everbody will pump their own bags.
Futures positions will be long now but dont forget the wall street can make good profit shorting market such us oil and energy and then everybody will be surprised and everybody try to catch a dip but the truth is OUR world works how much central banks do money supply.

Amd very soon we will have shortages of money and prices will fall fast once the average JOE is empty of any money amd savings.
Hahah the problem is that no matter if you are average or extraordinary, you just don't have solution for inflation. Until you are the part of economy you'll always face the heat of inflation in direct or indirect way. Even business persons might take loans at lesser interest rates and use them to generate money at higher interest but still when spending they will end up facing the heat of inflation anyways.
1094  Economy / Economics / Re: The economy is important for a family! on: March 20, 2022, 03:36:44 PM
I am married and have 1 daughter.

As we know, the economy is very important for families, of course, to support daily life and plan for the future. In addition to working we also need a savings or investment and this is the responsibility of parents. But if something happens that we don't want, such as death. By leaving a little treasure to our children, do we need to provide crypto investment education to our children? is it necessary?

As a parent I want to give my best.

I want to hear your opinion guys.
Obviously you should give crypto investment education to your children but the reason behind that isn't because something happens or you leave a little treasure, it's because your children should be self sufficient enough to make their own investment decisions in coming future and this knowledge that you'll impart in them will help them to make good investment decisions in the future and maybe start investing at an early age which could help them accumulate more until they become young.
1095  Economy / Economics / Re: US warns India over oil deal with Russia on: March 19, 2022, 06:32:12 PM
White House Press Secretary Jane Sackie said, "We believe that India will not violate US sanctions by buying oil from Russia through discounts." However, he warned India that such a move would lead the world's largest democracy to the wrong side of history.

India's largest refiner, Indian Oil Corporation, bought 3 million barrels of crude oil from Russia, Reuters reported on Monday. This is the first such transaction since Russia launched an operation in Ukraine on February 24. Indian officials also told Reuters that Delhi could accept Russian offers for oil and other products at a special discount.

Link: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/russia-india-oil-deal-us-psaki-b2036822.html
I think India's stand on this is absolutely correct, they are very good allies with Russia since very long. Now when the whole west has handed over sanctions to Russia, I feel India has been on the side of it's best Ally. But obviously USA wants all the countries to take it's side. I understand that Russia has been aggressive on Ukraine but still the reason Russia is giving is pretty valid.
1096  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Help With A Trading Question PLEASE on: March 19, 2022, 04:16:36 PM

Hi Guys can anyone explain this question for me I would really appreciate your answers feed back please.

I made a trade(limit order buy) on an Exchange and now have a 10,000$ long open position on BTC/USD with 5x leverage.

If I close my position at the same price level with a market order after 74 hours, can you tell me the total fees the position would have cost me with all the calculations? assuming Trading fees apply when opening *and* closing a position, on top of rollover fees

HELP PLEASE  Grin Grin Grin Grin
In spot trading this could have been easily answered, as there is a fixed percentage used by all the exchanges for this purpose and you can multiply the same with your position size but here the scenario is different, 1st of all maker fees and taker fees in these markets is different, if you are a market maker you get a big concession on the fees than being a taker. Second variable here is the funding fees of the market, it depends upon the volume in the Market and accordingly I doubt there could be any definite answer to this.
1097  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you ever JOMO? on: March 19, 2022, 01:12:20 PM
I learned about this word today too. It stands for 'Joy Of Missing Out".

You were thinking of buying a coin and later that coin dumps to oblivion. That's JOMO!
Yes so many times. In fact this has happened equal number of times as FOMO so many times I think of buying a coin and see it sinking next day and I get so happy. Also many times I was about to sell a long held coin but then I see it mooning the next day. But generally people will see that happening lesser number of times because we don't follow the trades that we have not taken. We generally only see the charts of the coins that we have brought and then continuously regret about buying or selling it.
1098  Economy / Economics / Re: Usa real estate prices % how much have gone up on: March 19, 2022, 10:35:21 AM
Which country data is this? Because real estate growth is subjective to each country, some developing countries have very high growth rate because population is increasing and so does the demand of real estate, but for developed nations this is entirely different as most of the household already live in own houses and buying property isn't a necessary there. I think on a global level you won't see such a recession but yes for a few countries this is definitely possible.
1099  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks in Ukraine Restrict Clients from Buying Bitcoin using Ukrainian hryvnia on: March 19, 2022, 09:35:12 AM
This news somehow puzzled me. It's ironic that just a few days after President Zelenskyy signed the crypto-friendly bill, On Virtual Assets, banks have now restricted clients from purchasing Bitcoin using the local currency.

It seems the order is directly coming from the country's central bank, the National Bank of Ukraine, accordingly while martial law is in place. PrivatBank, Ukraine's largest commercial bank, is one of those that implements the restriction. Accordingly, PrivatBank is trying to "keep financial stability under martial law."

I'm not sure how high the demand for crypto is in Ukraine, but is it a threat to Ukrainian hryvnia's stability? Is the demand that high that it could significantly pull hryvnia's value down?

It somehow dawned on me that governments, which are basically built on fiat, couldn't serve two masters at the same time, fiat and crypto. By fully embracing crypto, it is very possible that people will ditch their local currencies in favor of Bitcoin. In this way, the value of the currency as well as the economy is affected. Is this the case with Ukraine?

1. https://cointelegraph.com/news/ukraine-s-largest-savings-bank-halts-bitcoin-buys-with-hryvnia-report
I agree that in times of war banks are burdened even higher with the responsibility to maintain stability of the home currency with cut in exports/ imports, moreover if people will start using some other currency the demand of the home currency will reduce and moreover it'll be difficult to bank to maintain the total flow of money in the economy but yes it's ironic that how Government legalized it just a few days earlier and then bank starts restricting the clients.
1100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: March 18, 2022, 05:00:12 PM
What a great performance by team Bangladesh. The game is being held in South Africa. I never imagined that Bangladesh would be able to collect a huge 314 runs in South Africa. Every batsman of Bangladesh has played well. They have fulfilled their responsibilities properly.
Probably no one has expected that Bangladesh will score above 300 runs. Their batsman did a very slow start. The score was 135 runs after the end of 30 overs. They added 179 runs in the last 20 overs. Shakib Al Hasan and Yasir Ali has played magnificently during those overs. The openers has also done a great job by not losing their wickets early. However, the match is under the control of team Bangladesh now. South African players still have the opportunity to take the game on their favour. They need to build up a strong partnership from this point.
This match should be an easy win for Bangladesh, SA has to move ahead with a run rate of more than 7 to win this match and with 3 wickets down it looks more like a vicious dream because if you will increase your aggression you might get more prone to losing wickets and just couple of wickets can lead to exposing tailenders which obviously can't be expected to chase such a big target. So I feel this should be an easy win for Bangladesh.
