1081  Other / Off-topic / Re: Ban fur farms in China on: May 01, 2014, 10:29:17 AM
This is horrifying  I have signed petitions online to stop stores like top shops, asos and H&M from selling these products with angora fur and those stores have suspended those items from being sold in those stores. Those poor bunnies  this breaks my hearts how can China and other countries do this to animals?
1082  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best book you ever had? on: May 01, 2014, 10:27:55 AM
Labyrinths by Borges. I guess it might not technically count since it's a collection of shorter fictions and essays, but damn, it's awesome.
1083  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can Kids Be Raised in a Gender-neutral Society? on: May 01, 2014, 10:26:34 AM
Really sad to see how idiotic this world is coming too Sad Boys are boys, girls are girls, we should be teaching and promoting equality for all, no matter what sex, race, nationality a person is. God made us different for a reason and we should embrace our differences not try to be the same Sad
1084  Other / Off-topic / Re: Time Does Not Exist on: May 01, 2014, 10:25:16 AM
I have always thought time was an abstract idea constructed by the human mind, like many things. Time supposedly travels forwards yet it is always the present, future and past are just concepts. There is only the eternal now.
so you're saying that the record of time , in past and future is an illusion and there is only the moment, right? that the recollection of past and future is the illusion, an anticipation created by the human mind.
1085  Other / Off-topic / Re: In what sports do men and women compete at the closest to the same level? on: May 01, 2014, 10:23:15 AM
Pretty much any sport where strength, speed or size are not the primary determination of winner.
Archery, shooting, curling, race car driving, equestrian etc.
1086  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your favorite car????? on: April 30, 2014, 04:44:34 PM
There is nothing on earth like those new Aston Martin DBS volantes'.
Not just because its James Bonds choice, but its super curvy, and built like a private Speed boat on wheels. The interiors on all Astons are well stitched, and the materials are flawless.

I love how these people are worried it may explode anytime soon but are standing next to it taking pictures.
1088  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's your view on cannabis? on: April 30, 2014, 04:41:39 PM
I'm sure most people will disagree with this, but I don't think smoking cannabis should be its main use. I think it should be totally legal when used in a vaporizer or just other methods, but the worst method for your health is the most popular.
1089  Other / Politics & Society / Re: you get Richer as the Older You’ll Get on: April 30, 2014, 09:49:46 AM
Maybe I'm just stating the obvious, but there probably is also a correlation between the quality of one's diet and the level of education. Education in turn is correlated with income. But I don't think that can explain the difference between the 91-100% and the 81-90%.
1090  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lets talk about bitcoin which features would you like to be implemented? on: April 30, 2014, 09:49:00 AM
read somewhere about the horrifying maths required to encrypt the inputs and outputs so you could still verify they were the same sums, just not what they actually were.
That’s be pretty cool.
1091  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin h8r I have a special understanding of why a lot of people don't like it. on: April 30, 2014, 09:48:03 AM
it's natural for people to fear what they don't understand
1092  Other / Off-topic / Re: Elderly mother giving money to a televangelist. on: April 30, 2014, 09:47:02 AM
I once caught my fixed income grand mother writing a $3000 check to mail to a televangelist because he need help 'building his ministry' and she just had to help. I just let her write the check and told her I would put it in the mail for her.
About a year later she had a pipe burst in her house causing almost $2000 dollars in damage. At this point she was living pretty much hand to mouth, thinking she had sent most of her savings to that televangelist. I went to her house and gave her back the envelope I told her I would mail for her. She was utterly shocked.
I told her: "Granny, I told you I would mail this for you, and today I am living up to that promise by delivering it to the person that truly needs and deserves it."
She hugged me for almost an hour, and until she died whenever I visited she never failed to hug and thank me for protecting her life savings in spite if her.
1093  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why does a religious body (church, temple, mosque etc.) require so much money on: April 30, 2014, 09:45:49 AM
Our Church leases a school and sets up chairs every Sunday AM. This keeps our costs down. Some Churches do the opposite and spend a fortune. The Bible does not say to do this. In fact, those 'statues' of Jesus you see in Catholic Churches ..... those are a 'likeness' and the Bible says NOT to create those.
Money collected at our Church is completely voluntary. It is used to pay for the pastors etc. However a huge part of it goes to help people. Sometimes to make a mortgage payment for them after a job loss, or stock their cupboards and fridge, or for travel costs to a far away hospital for health treatments.
These amounts are all itemized in the accounting books which are open for any Church member to review.
So, I guess what I am saying is that not all Churches are the same. I agree that your question is a good one. Please just don't assume that corruption and misuse is always the case.
1094  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why didn't the federal government give bailout money to home owners on: April 30, 2014, 09:44:28 AM
And also because this country is run by corporations, very long story short. Why did banks and huge car manufacturers only get money?
Because Thanks Obama
1095  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why didn't the federal government give bailout money to home owners on: April 30, 2014, 09:42:58 AM
Because banks won't go blow all of the bail out money on scratch offs.
1096  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does anybody else get annoyed when people call gold "butter"? on: April 30, 2014, 09:42:03 AM
Same here but I don't think it is a big deal because they are a bunch of 12 year old kids...
My son (7 years old) and I both play Minecraft. I had never heard it called butter until he came home talking about it, to complain about how stupid it was that butter became a thing. He keeps trying to start Minecraft clubs with his friends where they ban the use of the word butter, but they all troll him and wait until they join the club before constantly saying butter again.

He gets so pissed.

And is very annoying  when 12 year old kids starts saying it every sentence like:
*YO DAWGG WANNA GO MINE SUM BUDDER AND MAKE SOME BUDDHA PANTSS???!! XD #yolo swag
*WANNA HELP ME BUILD A MOTHA FLIPPING BUDDA HOUSE AND LIVE TOGHETIR IN IT???!?!?! NO HOMO BUDDA DUDEEE XD XD XD
1097  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does anybody else get annoyed when people call gold "butter"? on: April 30, 2014, 09:40:07 AM
I too find it extremely annoying. It's Sky's thing. You don't have to copy him. I'm fine with you saying it as a joke (for example, I once played on a park our course made of gold blocks, and I complained that the butter was too slippery), but they don't have to say it every second. All the time. For everything.
1098  Other / Off-topic / Re: Paypal freezes our account after one year of service. on: April 30, 2014, 09:37:13 AM
Sorry to hear about the PayPal problems, I personally hate how PayPal can just freeze peoples accounts when you are running a perfectly legal business but I guess that’s just another reason why cryptocurrencies are the future.
1099  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Cannot handle the fact that al Qaeda is being supported by the U.S. government on: April 30, 2014, 09:35:49 AM
Al Qaeda is just a buzz word for some centralized terror cell. We know this does not exist and any official acceptance of the name Al Qaeda is most likely because that is what Western Media calls them.
1100  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the "empty space" in an atom? on: April 30, 2014, 09:34:14 AM
To ultra-simplify. Most of the electron cloud is empty of a particle when the electron is a particle (when its being measured). But it would be changing locations so fast that the space isn't really empty. If you could blow a hydrogen atom up to a massive scale and then tried to poke the nucleus with your finger, it would be like trying to poke your finger past the blades of a nearly infinitely fast whirling fan.
