1082  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Pangolinminer & Whatsminer FAQs on: September 27, 2018, 07:10:33 PM
https://whatsminer.net is not fake. Also, Pangolinminer is not the manufacturer.

I just want to clear the air here with some real facts.

Matt Justin is the CEO of a company called VTI Enterprises LLC. Matt runs the whatsminer.net website on behalf of DJ Technologies. VTI has an exclusive agent agreement for North America & the EU with DJ Technologies to sell the Whatsminer. DJ Technologies started selling Whatminer products in March 2017, when Dr Yang Zuoxing (formerly of Bitmain) formed Bitwei. DJ Technologies is an authorized distributor for Bitwei. DJ Technologies is also the exclusive partner for Bitwei products in Shenzhen & Hong Kong.

If you have any other questions, let me know. I can definitely get you more info.

... So can someone confirm if Whatsminer.net is a scam / phishing site or not? ...

Well now we know why their pricing is terrible, specifically at start ( back at 2kUSD), their pushing these units through two tiers of distribution. And they've bottlenecked into agreements.

No, their not concerned with tariffs to the US. I see the withdraw of listing to move more sales to the m10. Still lots of learning for marketing in this space.
1084  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcing the WhatsMiner M10S 44TH @ 60W/TH or 55TH @ 65W/TH SHA-256 16nm Miner on: September 27, 2018, 02:14:06 PM
Whatsminer stuff looks great.

Easy yo be enthusiastic about it till pricing comes into play. Love what their doing but over priced and will be even less accessible till we find out how exemption turns out for tariffs.

Edit. After I posted this I checked Pano's website. M10s has been removed and don't see any tweets about it anymore.

Canaan clarified a week or so ago, I think I posted about it here or another thread. Lily is our main contact.

6 month comprehensive warranty, 2 year limited. Now I sound like an insurance agent.
1086  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: US Tariff Ruling N297495 = 2.6% mandatory tariff on bitcoin mining hardware on: September 26, 2018, 06:51:20 PM
25% is confirmed, our customs guy is apparently pretty busy here working on exemption, which will apply for us all for at least a year.
1087  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: US Tariff Ruling N297495 = 2.6% mandatory tariff on bitcoin mining hardware on: September 26, 2018, 03:09:35 PM
Unfortunately we have confirmed 25%. So 27.6% total duties as mentioned earlier in the thread holds up in relation to the ruling discussed here. We have a meeting later this week to pursue action before deadlines.
1088  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 7nm Avalon ASIC (A3207) • AvalonMiner A9 • 0.06-0.07 J/GH on: September 26, 2018, 02:51:34 PM
921? No philip we don't stock. We have a group buy up if people want to join. Though the 20 units MOQ isn't so bad but well out of my capabilities. I put in for one myself but looks like it may take a while to fill as demand is sparce.

With new tariffs international buyers are able to get cheaper units at least regarding Canaan. I'd be happy to plug a reseller but they upset me in another thread. I probably just need my coffee.
1089  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: US Tariff Ruling N297495 = 2.6% mandatory tariff on bitcoin mining hardware on: September 26, 2018, 02:44:48 PM
Canaan requested KYC information as well. If you did order from them you'd know that.

Would be happy to continue to share insights that come across on what we find or are working on regarding relief and exemption but the transparency here is wearing thin and I have no patience for terribly orchestrated marketing.

Then the whole fear mongering aspect, 25% tariff are substantial but there's nothing that complicated about it if you're already used to prior ruling.

Maybe I should just be direct and say that you, *insert company name* guys can do better than this, plus what a melancholy thread to shill on.

Canaan's 2 year limited warranty applies to the 921.
1091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the new AntMiner DR3 (Decred ASIC Miner) on: September 25, 2018, 03:01:16 PM
First batch will make some money and should ROI or close but yes months of mining before release doesn't give consumers incentive to buy. I imagine the spike is do to any manufacturer developing a new blake256 miner as well.

If anything you can troubleshoot a board at a time, probably safest till hear you from Inno support.

Yea, having the desktop psu's are nice. Already set up an s7 in the house down clocked with fans at 20% for heat at night. Though it's supposed to warm up to 80 this week.
1094  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: BITTECH Announces New 28 TH/s ASIC on: September 24, 2018, 02:54:27 PM
Been dinking around their website. I'm not sure if their selling physical units or contracts for hash. Plus the ICO is bothersome. We'll be putting our resources into better places with everything happening in the mining arena.
1095  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the new AntMiner DR3 (Decred ASIC Miner) on: September 23, 2018, 10:22:36 PM
If antminer holds the max of two for first batch these look to ROI before the D1 is shipped out.

Was on crack earlier? I see only profits of $10/day with $0.12 power cost with this unit now.

Forgot to ask how this rates with Innosilicons model?
1098  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the new AntMiner DR3 (Decred ASIC Miner) on: September 23, 2018, 06:09:19 PM
At least Bitmain is doing the Maximum order quantities or these. I wonder how many we can source for buyers for Sept. Our listing should be up in a few hours but a soft quote is looking like over $1k to import to the US using web service payment. Most of our international buyers decide to take on customs responsibility themselves and we're seeing more US buyers request quotes to do so as well.
1099  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain launches the Z9 Equihash miner on: September 23, 2018, 07:02:22 AM
Could see it happening on the mini's. A dedicated effort to reduce failure. Less warranty claims potentially? Better for their budget (since it's news now). Imagine any of these companies following these threads to learn to make their gear better or how a consumer prefers them.

Agreed, feel though their timing is off.

Again, T2 was in what? March? So 2 quarters too late on the 821? Or are they holding back on their chip? Now I'm getting speculatory (if that's a word). Seems their two designs trend too close together.

Quality of chips? Or Canaan delivering trade mark? Have they always been so conservative in design?
