1081  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Focus on how much you may lose and not only the potential win. on: January 11, 2024, 06:43:04 PM
Always remember the risk not just the profit or gains, we should always remember that if there is a chance to gain it also comes with risk.
Consider both sides, and control how much you would risk.
Learn to plan how much are you willing to risk and at what point you would stop, it doesn't really matter how much you've already won if you aren't going to take it.
It isn't consider a profit unless you decides to stop and get out already.
Some gambler fail to evaluate the risk involved in gambling they tend to just gamble with the high impression of just making forgetting that the game itself was design to steal from you and take it wrongly if you want but I feel thats how the gambling is design to be and it gives a small percentage of gamblers that edge of winning while the whole multitude of other gamblers fall under the donators category and many people have failed to understand that the game itself is and win and lose situation.
1082  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you think gambling every day is better? on: January 11, 2024, 06:32:36 PM
Gambling every single day can be better, in a way that we can release our stress after a tough day of work. That means we should only play at night before we sleep for a couple of minutes. If you gamble more than that, that is not healthy anymore and it would be better for you to limit your gambling activity.
.
Well this your intention of gambling can quickly turn to another thing and by the way I feel after the day's work one should probably rest the mind to avoid any stress and be able to meet up with your tomorrow activity but that too still depends on the nature of work. But I feel gambling should be done when the mind is at rest and well I don't agree with you that's continues playing is good because what you do often can easily turn to another thing because of the familiarity of it so given your self space can be seen as kind of a healthy way to gamble.
1083  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does signing up with affiliate links gives these benefits? on: January 11, 2024, 06:23:42 PM
Any casino that has the intention of scamming its customers won't even mind, even if you are being referred by their biggest influencer, whose link is what you follow to join the casino. Casinos that don't want to pay will always impose a fine to void and sophisticate your money.

Unless a casino has a good name to protect, they will be mindful of the kind of risk they will involve themselves in, and beside that, not all of these big influencers will be ready to speed up for their followers and submit their report to the casino concerning their delayed withdrawal, as most of them care most about what they gain from the casino for promoting them and not the issue the users will face afterwards.
That's very correct, some these influence have no idea whatsoever about the particular brand or company their are selling their referral links for, most of them are just after the big cuts they get from the casino. Just like you said if the casino have intentions of holding back your wins for reason known to them then even if you used the most reputable influencer link to register it won't be of any importance.
1084  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you think gambling every day is better? on: January 10, 2024, 10:31:35 PM
There was a friend of mine who visited me a day after and he was saying gambling every day draws you more closer to winning.

I asked him how?

He said when you keep trying luck every day you stand the chance not to miss your luck of winning, he also made reference to few people around our locality who won outrageous Money within 31 Dec to 1 January 2024, asking if I knew how often those people keep trying for them to have the winning they got.

I said No! He then say the more you space the more I missed my chances of winning but what I came to understand is that, the more anyone keeps trying the slimmer such persons turns into gambling addiction becus such person will always want to gamble regularly stirring up some forms of pressure to himself. When there is no money to gamble such person don't mind going extramile to source for funds since he has install this mentality of regularly gambling without giving break.

My question is do you think gambling every day is better? From his reasoning and points of narrations.
I don't know how I missed this, but with what I have seen so far I think gambling everyday isn't the right choice to make because it's almost as same thing as chasing a wild winning opportunity that you aren't certain of the day it will come . I believe whenever the time is right your winning must come. And that's why I don't like gambling with high hopes of expecting something in return because with what am seeing this might be the reason to have being gambling everyday so that you won't miss your opportunity if it does come . With the winning I have gotten from gambling, some of them I won when I least expect them to turn out victorious.
1085  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: More reason you should protect your privacy and anonymity as a Bitcoin holder. on: January 10, 2024, 10:24:26 PM
Unfortunately, privacy has been compromised with the introduction of KYC requirements by major exchanges and other centralized systems working with Bitcoin.

You're not exposed to the public except you choose to do so, cryptocurrency is what has given us the choice to make between what we want and what other things we feels we don't want to see happen to our financial economy, just as you could discover that some people value their privacy and some don't mind exposing themselves to the public, you have the choice of choosing between a custodial or non custodial means of storing your asset, you also decided which and what to use our invest on, our privacy isn't with anyone, rather in our hands if we are aware of that.
Which is also a major problem as many people tend not to know this, Satoshi has already pave way for the financial slavery to end and still yet the government are fighting this by every means and that's way the implementation of KYC has been put on but the choice is still yours as you have made this clear because you can still choose to save or keep your coins where it's actually safe for you be it custodial or non custodial wallet and also there are decentralized exchange and centralized exchange to make sell of your coins so everything reside with your opinion.
1086  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Is Investing into crypto really safe? on: January 10, 2024, 10:10:42 PM
Crypto currency investment na risky kind of investment, because Several risk dey associated to this kind of investment, crypto currencies dey very volatile, come dey make crypto investors more vulnerable to losses,  but most persons no dey reason am , them invest in am heavily and most of them done cash out, and still most of them still loose money, crypto investment fit profit you or fit make you loose money before you close eye open, because the price fit climb or drop before you close eye open. E better to take the risk, but take the risk responsibly.
Bro, life itself na risk so and na only people wey dey willing to take risk nai dey standout from the general public and I believe say na this reason many people dey get this regretful feelings so tay dem end up ves for their self and the matter fit turn the other way round sef but one thing is certain and that one na be say risk na part human life. Anybody wey dey go into Bitcoin investment supposed know say the matter no be easy one oo, but another thing be say na understanding be everything because many people dey feel say the moment you join them go rich unknown to them that's the issue of is very delicate yet so complex.
1087  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My bitcoin journey has started again on: January 10, 2024, 09:56:33 PM
This has been my biggest motivation. I wish to be like you in no distance time, but due to financial instability and other factors beyond my major control, it has always seem impossible to start now. Kudos to this great move, I believe you must be so proud of yourself for taking this bold step. I can't wait to join the moving train. Bitcoin is the future.
Your motivation must be accompanied by looking for additional work so that you can spend a little of your money to buy bitcoin with the dca method because this is the best strategy for those of us who have financial constraints, so buying bitcoin you don't need to wait to have a lot of money to be able to invest in bitcoin, start with a little money first. In essence, don't ever think that investing in bitcoin is too late, anytime is the best time to collect bitcoin and buy bitcoin, especially if you already realize the basic virtue of bitcoin, namely that bitcoin is the future. Keep up the spirit, friend
People actually think Bitcoin investment is a must and that's where some people do get it wrong because without proper planning, your supposed investment is just a mirage because you might end up using the funds to meet other needs when you don't have the manpower to meet up with investment and your daily life expenses. Many people no doubt today have all end up scattering their investment because of the lack of plan so before going into investment proper planning needs to be done.
1088  Economy / Gambling / Re: From $17 to $37000!!! Craziest Crypto Win in 2023!!!! on: January 10, 2024, 09:50:02 PM
Using small amount of money to win big amount is not a new thing in the gambling industry. I believed last year in my country we saw many people won that. A former colleague in my former school won $10,000 with jus $8 and the way the boy is nobody knows that he won such amount. He even warned the bookmaker not to announce to anyone so he is spending the money secretly. Though those are lucky guys in the gambling industry because many people want to win like that but they're not winning.
We have hard such stories of gamblers winning jackpots such as this, any ways i have not seen a member of this forum being that lucky to win such a huge amount from betting or in-house games and this is what we have to take note of also because most of the stories that are shared here are all about third-party stories,  and if it in the real life, I have seen alot of such stories and in some months back we hard someone winning 69 million Ghana CDs with just a few cent bets, so alot have made such winning mostly on sports bets which is the most popular that I have seen and hard of.

But also what made this story unique is the fact that the ops shared it a few days after a popular casino announced a mega winning from their site and this called for alot of attention on how gamblers are getting lucky lately.
stories of gamblers wining huge money is something like that's tend to become common these days and I think these stories are actually shared to attract more people because some people are easily influenced by such stories and before you know they too have started trying and I have seen so many cases like this. But the funny thing about this is that the loses are never actually displayed and it's just the winning so we all should careful so we don't get carried away by the winnings Grin.
1089  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: POWER OF CORRUPTION on: January 10, 2024, 05:27:30 PM
People dey always dey talk say power corrupt, power corrupt, yes most of us don talk am before, we dey think say na power dey corrupt person but the truth be say most of us already get corruption inside of us we only need the opportunity (power) to bring out the corruption in us. A man once said if you really want to know the person true self give him 3 things: Money, Power and Access to Sex. With this 3 things you can know any one true nature. So no be power dey corrupt, power only reveals corruption.
You are not wrong but this thought of yours can't be termed to everyone because human nature varies and differ to some extent and I believe not everyone will fall to this corrupted mindset of given the things you listed but to a large extent I do understand that the human nature is filled with greed but even at that the nature of upbringing and morals matters because that can change his mentality of corruption mind
1090  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Happy Birthday Bitcoin. Its been 15 year mined first Block. 🎂 on: January 09, 2024, 08:33:45 PM
The first Bitcoin block was mined on January 9, 2009, at 08:54:25. So today, 15 years ago, we got Bitcoin that was first mined. Out of curiosity, I had been checking Block 1 and surprisingly saw that it was mined this day. So quite excited and expressing the celebrations. I know the discovery process was long, but the final stage was today. Today, the world got a new currency that has changed the world's financial system. I don't know how to thank the mastermind behind this Bitcoin concept, Satoshi Nakamoto, but salute. 🙋‍♂️
I for once know i owe him a big thank you for this wonderful initiative that has indeed shape the world financial system and to extent freed many individual from the financial slavery that the banks and the central system had on us. And also I must commend you sir @ The cryptovator for the precise timing towards the creation of this thread and I know this has also improved so many people knowledge who didn't actually knew this vital history of how the first block was mine in this Bitcoin journey.

Happy birthday Bitcoin and wish many more years of success and prosperity too💯
1091  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: 2024 no go gree for anybody. on: January 09, 2024, 07:14:02 PM
In the real sense, no free for anybody supposed to be positive slogan give all Nigerians but una know how majority of Nigerians d like twist something to become negative vibes just to suit peoples bad energy.

You see as this slogan d go on, you go see people wey no go use their head for the whole thing, naso them go find themselves arguing with their destiny helper.

I sae make I drop this pix below for people wey go like display the negative side of ''no free for anybody'' leaving the positive side of it

No be small thing wey this year supposed social media motor go cause oo, many people just dey carry this thing for head as if na their papa job, everyone should calm down and just as frank advice, no be to dey shout no gree for anybody be the problem oo, you fit dey there no dey gree and others dey gree dey do their things dey go and you go just dey wait your time dey talk nonsense wey no follow.
1092  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Is school really a scam? on: January 09, 2024, 07:07:05 PM
School is a scam for a time waster. People make the mistake of thinking that they only go to school for the academic knowledge, but in reality school involvement  boils down to much more than that. In school, we learn friendly interaction and the ability to survive together with others, School Has a lot of social, business and other interpersonal skills to offer for a serious minded person, You can learn a very expensive skill at a much cheaper rate from a fellow students. School helps shape our attitude  towards fitting in properly in the society.

Alot of persons don't know this and that's why they tag this term of school being scam as it purpose whereas the basic and original concept is far from that. Many people learn what shape their life's at school outside the original academy career they went their for, and besides the school environment is one big community and we all know what the community is about, because it's a place where social interaction and practices are career out so actually terming school as scam is also likewise saying our entire social community is a scam.

1094  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2024 price prediction on: January 07, 2024, 07:47:31 PM
The year of 2024 has been initiated and its an year for which crypto investors were in wait because during present year halving will take place which will turn the worth of bitcoin to all the time higher worth. There is a probability that very soon we will see 50k$ because we are not very much far from 50k$. Everything can happen in crypto market therefore if ETF approval happens then probability will increase and bitcoin will go above 70k$ but the price of 50k$ is not hard these days as bitcoin is increasing day by day in its worth.

The way the whole crypto space is depending on the SEC to approve the ETF makes me wonder if this doesn't happen what will become of the price movement because I know with my little knowledge that the SEC and EFT approval has been something of ON and OFF and still yet all these years the price value has gone up even without them approving the ETF so am being optimistic but I do have it in mind that this year, Bitcoin is certain to touch 60k++
1095  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Does Bitcoin need advertisment? on: January 07, 2024, 07:42:21 PM
With the way the matter of Bitcoin don be now, e no even need someone to advertise am because only the good things wey people dey benefits the story go clear road for the kind of news wey go lead to many people knowing about Bitcoin. And you know talk lie sef about this crypto ban something because I remember say I bin day teach for one secondary when this matter come up and believe the curiosity wey people come get and I mean people wey no even sabi about Bitcoin come dey serious to find out watin the thing be and na so many people come later get the understanding sef and maybe love for the Bitcoin if them come actually know the truth for the whole matter about the restrictions between bank and Bitcoin for transaction.
1096  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merit decay on: January 07, 2024, 07:30:54 PM
<…> Is it a good habit to allow one's sendable merits to decay?
sMerits don’t decay to date. The warning shown when sending them is meant to incentivise people to move them into circulation, but not even the airdropped sMerits given to accounts when the Merit System kicked-off during January 2018 have decayed in any manner (those would be my first candidates to do so in the event of pondering sMerit decay).

Hmm, interesting well this clear my doubt because I have been quite curious too on the notice I always see when trying to send out smerits and it made me wonder if actually this was true because like you said I have seen account which are way old to the time of the airdrop merit at the implementation of the merit system wake up suddenly and start giving merit to profiles here and in the community. I just taught if this was actually true then alot of those won't have their sleeping smerits active to actually send out.
1097  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you willing to bet $50 spin for a chance to win $42 million? on: January 07, 2024, 07:19:54 PM
This thread is inspired by the thread created by sportsbet.io about a lucky bettor who won $42 million on a $50 spin.

So let's discuss. This kind of win can be compelete considered based on luck, and the winner is so lucky that he hit the Jackpot. However, since the goal here is $42 million and you can only win that if you would bet $50 for one spin. So, do you have the courage to do that?
I think that's depends on the type of gambler you are, I say this because in my years of gambling and experience I have come to notice that some gambler are of different league than others meaning they actually have the mind and courage to take some stupid risk that any normal gambler won't. Well if this case was for me then I think I won't gambler all the 50$ because the possibility of me winning that jackpot is like one in hundred and I will feel better when I have split the 50$ and given my more chances at Winning something other than go all out in one spin.
1098  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin the best place for retirement savings. on: January 06, 2024, 10:01:46 PM
Me I fully support wattin the op talk oo, because if at all say person na just 10 years e get before retirement  and e come start to dey save money for bitcoin before that person go retire e go done experience 2 halving, and that one alone na better profit the person go get after e use better DCA take accumulate for month by month. By the time wey the person go done finish em work don we go get better profit wey e fit use take do something for e life. But if that person say na for our naira e wan dey keep that same amount for DCA every month for em bank, that person go come back after the 10 year come observe how the fiat currency don drop value finish.
The knowledge wey we get now about Bitcoin na one wey person no fit even carry money learn and one thing wey make me like this forum well well and another thing again make we no forget say this matter of saving your money Bitcoin no be easy something oo because we all know the way money be and also the way Bitcoin saving dey and also the risk of where the person save him investment on. To start investment for Bitcoin never finish oo, na to follow up the investment and also security measures because so many people don lose their Bitcoin investment wey don dey for long because of so many nonsense issues like wallet security and also lack of determination and will power too but all the same sha na only person wey get the sense go know say saving your money for Bitcoin e better pass to save am for your normal fait currency.
1099  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just HODL on: January 06, 2024, 09:49:53 PM
.

If you want to make a quick profit from crypto leverage trading on this highly volatile asset, one of the best ways to make those profits is to multiply your holdings in just a few minutes. If you also want to lose it all, crypto leverage trading is the best place for you, as you can also lose everything with the blink of an eye.
One can even call it gambling and most especially the virtual sports game where you lose all your money in a matter of seconds. Just like you stated, everyone has their different approach to controlling their asset not everyone can do the hold till eternity game because some many crypto or Bitcoin users tend to prefer to double their holding quickly and make go with the profits they have earn knowing fully well the high risk involved.
1100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the high fee affecting the rate of adoption of Bitcoin? on: January 06, 2024, 09:26:49 PM
With the recent spike in Bitcoin transaction fee, it's evident that these fluctuations are significantly impacting the adoption rate of Bitcoin.
Bitcoins has widely been advertised as an asset to invest in, that is to buy and keep and that is what is attracting many people to it as investors. Many of these investors do not yet see Bitcoin as a currency to transact with daily so they are not worried or have to be bothered about the high transaction fees that will be a big discouragement to people who use bitcoins as currency right now. Adoption of bitcoins is still happening and will keep happenning as more seek for what to invest in, and the best investments to have asides properties (real estate).
No doubt that Bitcoin adoption is still ongoing and I also understand that the major cause of this is because of the investment opportunities that people see Bitcoin as, well I still say that this high fees still hinders that part too although if not all then a little portion of the adoption because just image a situation where I want to buy Bitcoin and hold it and I obviously use an exchange to buy and accumulate then I will be needing to send the coins out right? So in trying to send my coins to an exchange and I pay this type of high fee don't you feel I will be discouraged or try to find an uteriour next time.
