1081  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are you doing when you make your way down? on: April 13, 2021, 05:24:38 AM
What are you likely to do if you sell near the high, maybe in early Q1 2022? Should you buy put options or go short on futures? In a recent interview with Peter McCormack, Willy Woo proposed a high yield arbitrage fund.

I don't want to fumble this. Perhaps trying to time the top is the first bad step, and HODLing on the way down is preferable—it all seems too exhausting.

What are your thoughts?
What if you keep holding all the way down and then you happen to reach your buying price, what’s the need for the Hodl, since you’re now losing completely everything and even extra? It would be better that you sell them when you have gotten profit and then start looking for another opportunity to buy again at a lower price and then start holding it for a long term when the price will increase again.

I do not think I am ready to hold any coin when it is going down and there is the possibility that it will fall below the price that I bought that coin, I can’t do that kind of thing.
1082  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bank & Government Crypto on: April 13, 2021, 01:43:06 AM
If banks and governments create their own cryptocurrency, will the people still be the ones to give value to it like Bitcoin and will we be able to store it in our own ledger to protect our own money?
From my understanding, the way we are going to be storing government issued cryptocurrency will be like when you’re saving in a bank or storing your money in centralized exchanges where you wouldn’t be the one who would be in charge handling your money, rather it will be banks or whatever kind of exchange that would be controlled by the government that will be handling it for you, and a you will be doing is just making transactions and things like that, just the same things you can do with your mobile banking while your money is stored in the banks. But I believe everything has stages, with time there is usually an improvement for everything.
1083  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: April 12, 2021, 08:00:05 PM

? ? ?

why are Everton odds so high? the toffees are great when playing away, the majority of their points came from away games (4th best away team behind foxes, city and united). Brighton though are close to relegation zone and won only 2 games at home this season. Everton double chance at 1.6 odds, DNB at 2.3  Huh what do the bookies know that we don't?
I think Brighton seen as a very big threat because of the usual "playing at brighton is hard" cliche, not like that is always true but it does sometimes happen to be true. I just feel like Everton hasn't been proper in the last 3 games whereas Brighton has been doing decent for the last three games, so there could be some sort of momentum on their way.

I still think Everton is the favorites here and nothing shocking would happen about this, but that doesn't mean that we are not going to see Brighton fighting hard, they will do everything they can and we have seen top teams lose to bottom teams before so why not Everton lose to Brighton that could happen as well. I still think odds are wack, that shouldn't be the case and if I was making the odds I would probably flip it and put everton at 2.4 and Brighton at 3.4 so that it would make more sense.
1084  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🐺WOLF.BET - $5,000 Race Every Wednesday! Advanced Dice Game 🎲 2.000 Bets/s⚡ on: April 12, 2021, 06:28:23 AM
Running signature campaigns to help promote their site is just one of many ways to attract gamblers. An alternate method is to run regular contests like Roobet, Duelbits, Crypto-Games etc in the 'Games and Rounds' section.

Wolf.bet should hire someone reputable to manage these contests(Wagering, Deposit, Finding stuff etc). This method has become quite popular in recent times.

TBH & of course just my opinion - it`s indeed one way to attract "gamblers" here on bitcointalk but truth is, as busy as the gambling sections may seem, the amount of actual gamblers is very low. Doing some marketing kind of stuff on bitcointalk every once in a while definitely does make sense but there are much (much much) more important channels in order to really increase volume.

Some people just seem to overestimate the importance of bitcointalk when it comes to player acquisition - I used to do, too. Wink
As someone who got into this gambling business yourself, even if not as casino but a place that reviews them basically, would you say that signature campaigns still do bring people and worth their cost, or would you prefer to spend that money on somewhere else? This is important for both people who do it, and people who are employed by them like us.

I believe it may not be as great as some other options like you said, but I never knew what those options were, I just had some "this is good but there must be something better" but I never really went out and searched for it since I do not own any casino so why would I spend time on that, but now that you are here, and you know these things, maybe you can share that. I still hope wolf.bet does a huge signature campaign, that is always good to get others who play on different casinos, it can't be all zero, I believe that will be worth it.
1085  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: April 11, 2021, 04:29:51 PM
I was sure that Barcelona would win this match because Real had spent a lot of energy in the match against Liverpool... For example yesterday Chelsea lost and Bayern drew... And Real are good! They beat a strong opponent!
I was surprised too and lost some money, barcelona are stronger than real madrid in this period and even it was well shown in the last games but i guess in football not the stronger one win in the end but this will make laliga more exciting.
Yeah, suddenly one game changed too many things and made the whole league competitive again. If Barcelona won, they would be putting real madrid down for a good amount of time, and they would basically be fighting with ATM, now that Real won it is making all three teams fighting for that title together. ATM still needs to play their game but if they win it is going to be basically 4 points with barcelona and 3 points with Real and those two have only 1 point difference.

I feel like this is going to be really fun until ATM and Barcelona plays, that could actually change many things as well I do not believe that Sevilla could be a challenge for Real but I also do not believe that we are going to see Real winning every game they play neither. This is going to be a challenge, if I was a sportsbook I would open up a whole new "who will be champions" bet again.
1086  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 11, 2021, 01:47:29 PM
Haaland situation is kinda complex to some extent lol; and the poll does not need to include Barcelona at all because i believe they simply cannot afford him. According to reports the only clubs that can afford Haaland are just 3, Real Madrid, and the Manchester neighbors (Manchester city & Manchester United). Real Madrid needs a goal scoring forward to complement Benzema one touch play and mask madrid forward line bluntness; while Manchester city wants Haaland to lead the line after having wingers and forwards already available.

The race for Haaland is between Manchester City and Real Madrid; one thing for sure is that Manchester united would not sign a striker without getting a Right winger in Sancho, or a defender first. The transfer race is on
People keep talking about how it is not going to be possible for Barcelona to end up buying Haaland because they do not have the money for it but this is Barcelona we are talking about and that is why I think they can find the money if they want to. I agree with all the talks about selling some players to get Haaland if they really want him.

For example, they can sell their goalkeeper and few defenders and they will have that money anyway, and I am not talking about even all the money needed because I am sure they already have some money and just add on top of it.

However do you really want Haaland by that way? He is a great player and he would really make a big difference in any team but Barcelona is more technique and Haaland is a pure striker whereas Barcelona players with players that are a bit less pure striker but more advanced so that they can move the ball around. City is definitely the biggest chance because they even decided to send Aguero away already, so I think Haaland will go there.
1087  Economy / Economics / Re: MicroStrategy Buys $250M in Bitcoin, Calling the Crypto ‘Superior to Cash’ on: April 09, 2021, 04:25:00 PM
If you have 90k+ bitcoins at around 27k+ bitcoin price, and someone else says that you are too dangerous to be bought, that place is very wrong. HSBC is known to launder money for criminals and they have done this for decades and paid tens of billions of dollars in fines for a very long time.

Even the start of HSBC is dark, they were started because all the British companies that went to southeast Asia and murdered people there and took their resources had to use some kind of banking to help them move the money around, how did they do that? They created HSBC so that their dark blood money could be transferred back to UK in order to keep their bosses at UK who never left and just ordered people to be murdered for profit could collect their money from their local branch right around the corner. You are telling me that this company find something else too dangerous for being involved in crypto? Don't make me laugh.
1088  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Low volume coins good for investment now? on: April 08, 2021, 07:26:40 PM
If the coin is low volume I think it is very difficult to pumd because of the lack of fans so that the coin is always at a value that we can not rely on to invest, and if we still want to take risks I think it would be a regret if the coin was at the same value when we bought it, we better choose a potential coin if we want to make a profit faster.
That's always what I have seen in coins with low volume. If it was a good coin that people liked it would have a good volume, when we are talking about a coin that has maybe under 1 thousand dollars trading volume per day, that coin is not going anywhere, and I have seen as low as 10-20 dollars volume in some stuff, that doesn't even deserve to be listed. Which is why I always believed that we are doing something decent by ignoring those.

I want my coin to be preferably be in the top 100 coin list, I do have 2 coins I am checking that are not in top 100, but all the rest are not only in top 100 but top 50 right now (I am open to ones who are above 50 but under 100). That is why I do not think that low volume coins are a good way to invest, it would break your heart to realize that you will end up losing it all if you are not careful enough.
1089  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP is Back on: April 08, 2021, 06:42:38 PM
Granting xrp access to some documents by SEC could boost them in winning their case, it's a pity xrp has been passing through a difficult time with regards to the lawsuit, if not for the lingering court case the price of xrp should pump hard although XRP is centralized nevertheless some investors will surely invest in.
Recall when XRP pumped to $3 in few year back from nowhere a lot of investors earned huge profits that time I hope normalcy return xrp after winning their case.
I know that if they can pass this and not really have a big problem that would result with price going up, but why do people still keep promoting it and defending it? I am asking you this because you look like someone who likes the coin, you look like you want to see it succeed, so maybe you know the answer as well.

I have to say I have been longer than most people, nearly 8 years since I first joined bitcoin movement and I have to say from day 1 I hated XRP, why? Because it is a company behind a coin and if I do not trust a whole government with my money and that is why I moved from fiat to crypto, why would I trust a company with my money? What makes it better that Ripple controls my money when I already have a government controlling it? Same reason why I never use USDT and I wonder why other people use it, that seems like maybe a good thing to learn.
1090  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What age bracket is perfect for gambling on: April 08, 2021, 04:39:38 PM
It really depends on the kind of education that you receive, I remember that my father taught me about gambling games at an early age, he did it not because he wanted me to gamble but it was a lesson on probabilities, that is how I learned very early on that gambling as a way to make money was simply not going to happen for almost anyone because the probabilities are on the long term against you.
Education alone will not help because our education system is not that good which will be making us to be aware of efficient money handling things. I mean regardless of education level, how effectively we are handling funds and emotions must be more important factors to decide on what age gambling should be allowed. So basically after 30 years of old, people here are getting some awareness against money management.

In my opinion also (based on my efficient money handling capability), only after 30 years people should be allowed to gamble in my country so that they could effectively manage funds and all other required things to keep gambling only for entertainment purpose.
1091  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low could the next bear market move bitcoin? on: April 08, 2021, 08:30:58 AM
Any chance of bitcoin going below 10,000 USD? I really doubt it. I'm thinking maybe it might go below 20k but that's a maybe and only if bitcoin only goes up to maybe 80 at the peak of this bull market here soon. I know a lot of people think bitcoin will go to 300,000 or even a million but I really doubt that. I can see 80,000 and 100k for maybe a week or so but hopefully I'm wrong.
In any case we are in a situation where bitcoin is definitely moving to opposite direction of what people believe but that's by design. Manipulation is something that can be done here without any problem from regulators, so whales do check the charts and see where it "should" go and then wait for people to share that info and when everyone thinks it will do that those rich people actually end up doing exactly the opposite so that they would make the most money.

Personally I am expecting bitcoin markets to test $100k to $200k by end of this year and then as per 4 year long cycle of bitcoin markets, we can see bears to come in action which may lead to 50 to 70% from the ATH.
1092  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we expecting a bullish trend? on: April 08, 2021, 04:49:34 AM
BTCUSD chat on a 4H time frame, are expecting a bullish trend or would this market still sell. Am at a junction where my MA is far from the market although its pointing towards the bearish market. I'm seriously contemplating weather to go long or short the market.

Going one time frame higher using the D1 time frame on my mt4 app the market is indicating a strong reversal going towards the bearish market although it's still testing my MA line but once it breaks out i should be expecting a bearish trend. Do u think this market will buy. Let's analyze this please
Technicals are good but only up to some level; you cannot 100% depending on it for opening your new trades. Because, market sentiment is something independent from technical analysis like when more number of investors are joining into buying side, then any technical analysis will become invalid. Basically we are into bull run and it would be much safer if you keep buying at dips and planning for long-term holding rather than trying catching short-term trends.

I'm not much familiar with any of technical analysis but I'm able to make good profits out of long-term holding and making use of my excess money for buying at dips. Basically I am always belonging to bull side of bitcoin and will go to sleep mode if bearish trend is witnessed.
1093  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Turkish Super League 2020/21 Season on: April 07, 2021, 06:48:41 PM
As I guessed Fenerbahçe could barely beat Denizlispor even though many people consider it is one of candidates to champion title. I think Beşiktaş's manager Sergen Yalçın will fix motivation problems with Beşiktaş this week or they will have great competition at their hands and it won't be good for them.

Emre Belözoğlu is new manager and this was his first match as a manager in his career. He started with a win, that's a very good start for him. He's lucky he started with Denizlispor match. Denizlispor is not a big team. Normally Fenerbahçe should win even if they have no manager in this match against Denizlispor.
The whole joke around the nation these days (by fener fans) was that fener would win this game. Why is that a joke? Well there were too many people who said since GS lost and BJK lost, fener would lose as well and not take advantage of this situation and would make the fans sad.

The joke here is that fener would win, make it look like they are contenders for championship, would win few more, even maybe get the top spot eventually in few weeks if other teams keep losing points, make Fener fans think the league is theirs finally after so many years, then they will start losing bunch of games and drop to third again and make all the fans get cancer. That was the joke, and well Fener won, so half of this joke is true, let's see if Fener will continue to be awesome and look like they are going to win the league and suddenly start losing and make people mad again.
1094  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: April 07, 2021, 06:22:41 PM
Everybody could have guessed that City would beat Dortmund that was a given result. However liverpool keeps playing horrible as well, even on champions league this time, they got dominated by Real last night. I really hope they find their footing and become better but I do not really have too much hope about it neither. At the end of the day we are talking about one of the most expensive teams in the world and they are both 7th in their own league and they are losing champions league as well, they might really have historically bad season next year.

Today will probably be Bayern and Chelsea wins, of course we can't know for sure but first game is in Germany so I am guessing Bayern probably has better chance and even though Porto managed to come thus far, I still think Chelsea is a much better team. Time will tell, I hope I win these.
1095  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin season ending in may ? on: April 07, 2021, 05:28:08 PM
Now alt season started. Lot of coins specially 2018 ath coins now going for new ath. You can see xrp is moving like roket.

2018 how long alt season survived ?

I am currently holding aion coin. Its really blulish at the momement.

Experiemce tell me , when this alt season going to over  may or june ?
What makes you think that anyone that can give you that kind of answer? Huh Nobody can give you that kind of answer accurately. The headline of your posts says it is may that the altcoins season is going to end lol, I thought that you’re one of those that says that they already knows when things are going to happen.

Anyway, all you can still do is to continue with your Hodl and when the price starts crashing and you feel the end of the bullish trend is near, then you can sell it immediately and wait for it to reach the minimum price and buy back. That’s all I can say. Or you can still sell it now that it is bullish and wait for another time to get in after it crashes.
1096  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Efforts of holding wasted on: April 07, 2021, 11:41:12 AM
People be like
Don't always sell all the coins and tokens you own because they can rise in future but I've hold so many coins since 2018 and only very few gives me 50$ to 70$  Grin today, isn't this laughable??

I be like
It's always wise to hold only very popular coins for future sake like the period we are in presently, not all altcoins will pump and give you a thousand dollar gain or more, if I've spent my time to gather top altcoins I would be in happy mood right now
Who told you that you can be holding crap coins for a long term and expect them to pump? Nah, that’s totally wrong, if I were I am just going to be investing only in bitcoin rather than just buying some altcoins that are worth nothing. If you want to buy altcoins why not buy the ones that are going to see growth? We have Ethereum, and we have other coins like litecoin, Monero, ripple, all these top coins they are the ones that you should be considering if you have plans to be investing your money in any of these coins and holding it for years as you did with these ones.

Anyway, it has happened and you have learnt a bit lesson. I do see people who will be buying up lots of new altcoins that are not even up to a year lol, because they think that these altcoins are going to become the next bitcoin.
1097  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading with high volume + low leverage vs. small volume + high leverage? on: April 07, 2021, 02:06:42 AM
From your experience in futures trading, what's best considering the risk/profits: trading with large volume from your capital but with low leverage (even doing spot trading) or trading small volume but combined with high leverage?
I am just only into spot trading in crypto space but I have availed higher leverage on other trading. When your technical are weak and you are not sure about long term strong trend then you may go for higher leverage but look for short target to book and exit. This way even you are covering only a short term trend, you could make considerably decent profits with high leverage.

When you are good at technical and you have clear stop-loss levels then you can calculate your positions as per your leverage in way it will be not triggering the stop-loss on negative market.
1098  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anybody here sell their Gold to buy Bitcoin? on: April 06, 2021, 06:53:25 PM
It's awesome. Although I don't have gold now. So there is no question of thinking about converting. I'm here to glimpse who is transforming and how much. I desire I also have Gold in the future and I will convert similarly. However, even if you do not convert, there does not appear to be much loss. Because gold is just as valuable and profitable as bitcoin.
Gold is a good investment and it’s not a must that you’re going to sell all your holes to invest in Bitcoin or any cryptocurrency, you can still have gold and also have Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. So, there is no need to be selling all the assets you own.

Before I started investing in Bitcoin I did sell all my gold’s, but I didn’t do it because I wanted to start investing in Bitcoin, rather I did it because I need the funds I invested in there to be used for a business I was about to start around then. So after I have started the business I used the remaining funds to invest in Bitcoin and that’s a good move that I took. I didn’t invest everything in bitcoins.
1099  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: April 06, 2021, 06:28:30 PM
Here is the video for those who are interested,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfgnxGZs7o0

I think it's no surprised that most of the athletes right now are into bitcoin or crypto in general. And this is a good news to us hearing someone as famous as Giannis, mentioning BTC, who knows maybe he has invested already.

NBA and crypto, a pairing made in heaven.  It's crazy to think that Giannis even knows what Bitcoin is.  It goes to show you that most folks nowadays are aware of what it is and that it's making a lot of people a lot of money.  I'm not sure this is a good sign of a healthy market, but hopefully the bubble isn't ready to pop yet.
We are waaaay beyond the days when we started. I remember once I went to a job interview for a position at a great company, and they asked me why I didn't have much on my resume and I said I deal with crypto currencies and made some money that way which is why I didn't needed to work during that period, they asked me "isn't it dangerous to tell people you are in crypto?" like it was something illegal and something that I should be ashamed of myself.

This is why I think it is clear that we are on a whole different situation right now, companies like tesla going in, wall street companies started to really look into it, and many other stuff that made bitcoin a lot more popular. Now it doesn't have that "dark net money" type of vibe anymore, it is just an investment and people know that people who are into bitcoin made a lot of money and that is why they can say it so clearly.
1100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: April 06, 2021, 06:00:53 PM
It will be very difficult to do. Especially in El Classico. Real Madrid have three games that will decide the fate of this season. If Real Madrid loses to Barcelona, then you can forget about La Liga. If we do not pass Liverpool, you can forget about the Champions League. Three finals. for Real Madrid.
I do not think that Real Madrid will be winning the league this year, I am not even entirely sure if they could be second neither but that depends on ATM a bit. I believe we are going to see ATM losing some more points and Barcelona can't keep up winning every single game, they are going to end up losing at least a game, I know it is Barcelona and they do have a chance to win all the remaining games but that is a very low chance, they are going to get a tie or a loss somewhere along the way, I just believe ATM will lose even more points and that is why Barcelona becoming champions this year is the biggest probability.

The real question is will Real keep winning enough and will ATM lose enough to make Real the second team or are we going to see a list where barca is first, atm is second and real is at third. Right now third position looks more possible for real than championship.
