And like that, he's gone? Did you mean to link to that video?

Oh, btw, I just made your recipe for Yorkshire Puddings and they turned out great. Very light and fluffy.
1082  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why doesn't North Korea open up a bitcoin exchange? on: April 21, 2017, 02:59:36 AM
Yeah, they should have their own exchange. If they used Bitcoin they could buy ballistic missile parts on Amazon with a Bitcoin card. I hear their last missile test didn't go so well. LOL

1083  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: escalation of force from U.S. government you can expect as as a bitcoin user on: April 20, 2017, 09:53:46 PM
There hasn't been someone just completely crazy as a shit house rat on this form since fluttershy left, good job.
1084  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is getting serious ... Total CryptoCurrency Market Cap to $30 billion !! on: April 20, 2017, 06:27:12 PM
Understanding what market cap is would help.

Quote
Market capitalization (market cap) is the total market value of the shares outstanding of a publicly traded company; it is equal to the share price times the number of shares outstanding. As outstanding stock is bought and sold in public markets, capitalization could be used as a proxy for the public opinion of a company's net worth and is a determining factor in some forms of stock valuation.

If bitcoins price is $1 per btc and there are 16 million of them the market cap is 16 million. If Bitcoin price is $1000 per btc and there are 16 million of them the market cap is 16 billion.

Bitcoin currently costs $1,230 the market cap is $20 billion.
1085  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if all nations of the world started to use bitcoin on: April 20, 2017, 06:15:33 PM
If everyone in the world used Bitcoins then I would think that Bitcoins Blockchain will slow down some.

You may be right. LOL
1086  Other / New forum software / Re: When will the new forum soft. get released? on: April 20, 2017, 06:08:34 PM
Probably sometime next year.

Yes.

Considering you made this post three years ago, I assume you were making a joke, right?

Speaking of yokes, time for breakfast. I'm thinkin' corned beef hash and eggs. Anybody want some?

Now I'm hungry. lol
1087  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if all nations of the world started to use bitcoin on: April 20, 2017, 06:04:51 PM
I remember that report which stated if BTC would handle only 5% of Visa transaction, 1 BTC would be $40.000 worth. However, I dont think this is the main question, BTC will never become an actual currency. Instead it s a store of value over time, which appreciates due to its scarcity. The same as gold.

ROTFL  5% of Visa transactions. That's too funny.

There were 27 Billion eft transactions last year, that's 27,000,000,000 transactions. That's almost 74 million transactions a day.

The Bitcoin network processes 350,000 transactions a day and its struggling to do it. Ach/eft seamlessly handles 211.5 times more transactions than Bitcoin handles. Bitcoin would crash and burn if it tried to handle 5% of Visa transactions. On a good day, with the wind at its back and all the miners holding hands and singing Kumbaya, Bitcoin may be able to handle one half of one percent.

Crypto Times ep 7: https://youtu.be/uw8z-ERalQ8

What im considering is the possibility of Jihan Wu ending up in jail. How is it even legal that he can not only manipulate the price, but do it by allegedly lying to customers and using purchased hardware by other people by himself and delay those ASICs to their respective owners? the whole thing is becoming insane.

I guess you never heard of BFL. Bitcoin mining has a proud tradition of doing exactly as you just described.
1090  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jihan blocks segwit on LTC: price crashes on: April 19, 2017, 09:07:52 PM
Frankly that's just babbling bullshit filled with your personal bias. Can't you give the new guy an unbiased breakdown.
1091  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What type of wallet do you use? on: April 19, 2017, 08:42:48 PM
Right now I carry a Coach wallet but I used to have a nice Louis Vuitton but I lost it at the beach.

For Bitcoin I use the last updated version of Armory. There's literally nothing you can't do to a Bitcoin with an Amory wallet.
1092  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jihan blocks segwit on LTC: price crashes on: April 19, 2017, 08:16:55 PM
I'm confused as to what segwit is. Could someone possibly explain it to me? Thanks guy you are all amazing Smiley

SegWit was originally created to fix transaction malleability (a bug allowing transactions you send to be invalidated) and not even designed as a block size fix. Stopping transaction malleability meant moving some data called witness data (signatures in a transaction) out of transactions and off the Blockchain.

This fix moves enough data to increase the block sizes by up to 4MB but most people think that the network is most likely to settle at about 2MB block sizes if SegWit is ever implemented. The other way SegWit could increase transaction capacity, sort of, is by allowing Lightning Network. Fixing transaction malleability makes the network secure enough to allow LN and other off-chain products to work by using the Bitcoin blockchain as just a reconciliation ledger to begin and finalize transactions. This could make transactions faster but they really wouldn't be Bitcoin transactions in the classic sense.

This is about as much as I can dumb it down and still have it mean something.
1093  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SAUDI Bitcoin Trading on LocalBitcoins TO THE MOON on: April 19, 2017, 07:54:31 PM
All they have is because of the holy cities of Muslims, when it's prayer time everyone leaves their shops open and go to the mosque anyone having the audacity to steal anything will lose one hand no question asked Cheesy
I gotta tell you that those rich sheikhs pay for young and beautiful girls overtly.

Lets not giving them too much credit though as they might feel funny in their bellies and fund terrorism if they find it more convenient and discrete.

All they have is by the grace of God otherwise it's just desert.

I'm very proud of you. You didn't call them ragheads even once.
1094  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Impressive bitcoin one liners for non bitcoiners on: April 19, 2017, 07:52:23 PM
Oh, I remember this thread. It's like a roll call of all the old time cheerleaders. The best part of this thread is it doesn't have any of the old timers that became scammers or went to prison. Edit: oops, I just saw Andrew Bitcoiner posted so never mind, there is a scammer.

Bruno's is still the best one liner.
1095  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SAUDI Bitcoin Trading on LocalBitcoins TO THE MOON on: April 19, 2017, 06:54:32 PM
They have so much wealth that they don't know where to invest their money. Yeah, let see how it goes, if those rich prince or sheikh decided to invest in bitcoin then good for the bitcoin ecosystem. Otherwise, bitcoin is already doing fine as of the moment but if Middle East want's to join the fun, the better for us.

but i wonder what proportion of saudis have real money. you got the governing class of course who are crazy rich. i kind of get the impression everyone else is sitting around doing nothing being given oil money, but maybe not a great deal of it.

Correct

A recent article in Saudi Gazette, an English-language daily out of Riyadh
Quote

The details of the question, however, hold most of the answers. The vast majority of Saudi Arabia's GDP comes from oil, which is owned by the state. The state doles out a wide variety of subsidies to its citizens. The oil sector is responsible for 90% of GDP and 93% of employment. This takes relatively few people to operate. A result of this is very high unemployment, officially put at around 11% -- unofficially, around 30%, not including women.

There is very little manufacturing in the country, though considerably more assembly of foreign-made parts.

Highly skilled labor is available cheaply from other countries. This depresses employment opportunities as well as initiative. Entrepreneurship is certainly possible, but takes very large capital investment due to the high prices of doing business in the country, as well as the social costs of failure.

Over the past 50 years, young Saudis seem to have forgotten the importance of manual labor. As a result, they look down on it, preferring management-type jobs. This is changing, but as with all things in Saudi Arabia, change comes slowly. Similarly, service jobs are looked down upon. This is changing, however, with more Saudis willing to take certain types of service jobs -- hotel front desk, airline desks, restaurant staff, etc. Even when willing to take these jobs, though, society tends to frown upon them.
1096  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin Debit Card, NOT provided by Wave Crest Holdings Ltd. (MyChoice) on: April 19, 2017, 06:48:04 PM
The Bitcoin ecosystem is tiny. You should be happy that there is at least one company willing to jump through the regulatory hoops to service a tiny niche market.
1097  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dear Satoshi Nakamoto on: April 19, 2017, 05:02:07 PM
Dear Dead Guy,

You made this shit a long time ago before you died and now people are trying to jack it up. Can you do me a solid and come back to life and jack these people up because they're really pissing me off.

Cheers from a Bitcoin Core Supporter.
1098  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SAUDI Bitcoin Trading on LocalBitcoins TO THE MOON on: April 19, 2017, 04:43:29 PM
Too bad they're buying on LBC. That means they're not moving the price.
1099  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jihan blocks segwit on LTC: price crashes on: April 19, 2017, 04:13:45 PM

even if segwit was the most amazing scaling solution in the world, it wont help litecoin that much right now since litecoin barely has any merchants.  it was just a p&d.

I think Litecoiners themselves would be the first to admit they won't have a capacity problem for a very long time, if ever. It would shine a light on them and attract more quality developers though.

It would do more than that. All of the various side chain devs could look to litecoin instead of bitcoin. Litecoin could pass over bitcoin in short order if that happened. How would you like LN to go with litecoin instead?

i really doubt that, segwit is not that useful for litecoin, it's just about hype and maybe helping bitcoin adopting it, litecoin will not go any where near dreaming to suprass bitcoin ever

Oh, you're so right.

And blockchain technology has no chance of ever being adopted by huge corporations all over the world without including Bitcoin. I mean blockchain technology is part of Bitcoin and it was first, right?  LOL
1100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Maersk, Walmart & others already applying blockchain technology to everyday use on: April 19, 2017, 04:03:04 PM
Blockchain technology is nothing more than a new type of distributed database. Oracle, IBM and many others have been trying for decades to come up with a truly secure distributed database. Most companies settle for a centralized database for security reasons even though a distributed one would be more efficient.

 https://www.atlantic.net/blog/overview-of-distributed-database-types-and-security/

I think the only reason anyone sees this as a positive for Bitcoin is that they really don't understand Bitcoin, blockchain technology or the reasons to use either.
