1081  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it possible to live without banks? on: July 10, 2020, 03:31:09 AM
well i travel a lot and you can live with only bitcoin and cash. Its not easy but its possible. I use mostly only bitcoins to pay for all my food and hotels.
And only use cash for deposits and stuff i can use bitcoin for. And i have been for years

That still proves that we need banks.

Since you travel a lot, I guess you also went to a country where Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies are not that popular hence it is not that accepted that much there. That just also means that you need to rely on your fiat which you covert to fiat that is used in that country. As a traveler one of the things you should really consider is changing your money into fiat being used there. Accepting Bitcoin might just be an additional or a bonus to that.
1082  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying food or groceries with Bitcoin on: July 10, 2020, 02:25:04 AM
When paper money begins to depreciate, and inflation begins to eat up all the savings of people, then we can expect great interest from the public in cryptocurrency assets with a guarantee. the money supply is growing very rapidly today, and governments are making people poor who already do not have the means to live. I believe that in the near future we will have a more developed infrastructure network for using cryptocurrency in everyday life.
Everything will depend primarily on whether the state accepted cryptocurrency or not. Each businessman must report on his income to the government and therefore the sale of products and other goods for Bitcoin should be legal.

I don't think businessmen has problems with it.

Unless if the government insisted that they needed to monitor each of those companies or corporations that accept cryptocurrencies, that is when they will submit something about their profit in cryptocurrencies since they are already submitting these reports in income since they are paying taxes, right? So I don't think we have a problem with that. Either way, the people should be introduced by it so they will be using it.
1083  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Philippines SEC warns against crypto investment. on: July 09, 2020, 11:36:51 AM
That sounds bad to me.

I think that just means that there are a lot of scams happening and I know that scams and hacks are inevitable but they might think that if the number of people getting scammed continuously increases, then that just means that they might consider banning Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as well.

I hope that they will not end up with that decision.
1084  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will a BTC bull market begin in July? on: July 09, 2020, 11:03:56 AM
I think its not possible bull in July and even not possible to cross $10k mark in this year. I am waiting for 2022 going to Moon.

We never know.

Bitcoin usually makes us surprised by its quick-changing price. You might think it won't happen but there is also a chance that it will happen. The dominance of Bitcoin is regaining and I think there is a huge possibility that it will stay at $9K and might go higher than $10K.

2022 in terms of volatility of Bitcoin is so long. I guess we might see an ATH even before we welcome that year.
1085  Economy / Speculation / Re: Anyone else see a big bitcoin upwards movement coming very soon? on: July 09, 2020, 09:35:05 AM
~snip~
I'm expecting to see the bitcoin price get dropped 10 to 20% in the next few weeks.

$7.5k is a fair price though considering the current world economic collapses , the market must be frustrated .
^ I will respect your opinion even though I am against this prediction.
I don't see any correlation between economic collapse and the bitcoin dominance, even during the pandemic bitcoin price shows a good improvement of the price that was I am expecting it will down too much because people need cash for their daily necessities. But I was wrong, I saw that bitcoin dominance slowly rising up despite the pandemic. Nevertheless, we are opposite here, I have a feeling that bitcoin this month will break again the $10k price in the market, I am very optimistic.

I thought Bitcoin's price will fall down after halving but it didn't.

Maybe we can say that the reason why the price of Bitcoin is staying at $9K is that there are a lot of people in India increasing the dominance of it while we are in the pandemic. People are scared because they thought that it will fall though I don't think there are a lot of people that invested there too. But some articles said that the people investing in cryptocurrencies there are increasing.

I do agree that it will increase and I am not really affected when it falls down since I know it will just go back quickly.
1086  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can we still enjoy the anonymity in gambling in the long run? on: July 09, 2020, 05:43:49 AM
Anonymity is no longer valid when the average gambling site asks email to register IMO...
In my experience, almost all gambling sites ask for email for registrants so that when you forget the password the account can be recovered but indirectly it makes your anonymity disappear, your email makes your identity open.

These emails though doesn't require you to put all of your information with it.

Also, you could make an email address that doesn't make sense at all so you would be able to maintain your anonymity. For example, you could use Iwantedtobeanonymous14@gmail.com so they will never know besides, you should just create a sole email for gambling and differentiate your other personal email addresses. It is that easy.
1087  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: July 09, 2020, 02:07:03 AM
I'm so excited to see the first tip off hopefully we they can restart the season as soon as possible when everything is controlled.

Same here and I am not against open the PBA season as long as they will do all the precautionary measures to keep the league free from covid-19.
The amount stated above is for the purpose of the covid-19 response only, if we look at it, it tells us how much this pandemic has already damage our economy.

For simple math, I like to illustrate.

Revenue (from private) = Tax = Economy.

if we kill that revenue, our economy will sink

If this is the case then why does Tolentino wanted to reduce the tax of people working at home? Since we are talking about revenue, reducing the tax means having a negative effect on the economy, right?

https://www.rappler.com/nation/265915-tolentino-wants-tax-deductions-employees-working-from-home

They are working from home, obviously, they are consuming their own electricity and using other things that would increase their bill.

The government is taking care of these people and you want to make them continuously do that? This is a good decision by the government. Instead, they could just maximize the tax they are getting in big companies or corporations that can still normally function despite the pandemic.
1088  Economy / Economics / Re: How many bitcoin is enough? on: July 08, 2020, 11:04:39 AM
maybe less than 1 bitcoin will be enough after 10 years. who knows. the only thing i know is i should collect as many as possible. because crypto market has a huge potential comparing to many other investing items.

As long as we are seeing the price as we have right now, you should really aim higher.

We never know what will happen in the future so all we have now is to take what we can and make things happen with it. It might explode in the future and you will be regretting that you sold it earlier. As you said, it has a huge potential if we compare it to other investing items, might not be enough but just think of the people who really support it.
1089  Economy / Economics / Re: Can we rely on Bitcoin and cryptocurrency? on: July 08, 2020, 10:30:46 AM
Obviously no.

In terms of sustaining your livelihood, I don't think you will be able to do that. Cryptocurrencies are still new even though it is over a decade in existence. The problem here is that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are not that adopted yet by a lot of countries. You can use it in a country as long as you convert those into fiats.

In terms of investment, it can give you some profits but not in the way that it can sustain you also, it depends on how much you've invested in it.
You're right, bitcoin can only be helpful in the country where you can exchange it into a fiat money. Although bitcoin  is not a reliable source of income but this time that we are struggling because of covid 19 pandemic,i think it will be a better way to earn while most of the peope are stay at home and lost their job. It could help to survive our foods for daily needs.

As I said, it will not be a good way to sustain your livelihood.

This pandemic will not just challenge the government to take care of its country but also the people on how they will be able to take care of themselves and their families. It is time for people to make their jobs convenient for them so they don't need to go outside. Maybe you can use Bitcoin as a payment to online shops or being a reseller. Barter is also a thing here in our country, that really helps other people that can't really buy things but have something that has value like fruits, vegetables, and livestock.
1090  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin soon will become a boring investment? on: July 08, 2020, 09:55:54 AM
Only people who don't have the patient will think that bitcoin is a boring investment. They can not wait for more to see the bitcoin price will start the rally. If they are learned about bitcoin, they will know that bitcoin needs time to rally, even if the time is one night, that still need time. If bitcoin price starts to rally, the price will be able to break the high price, and I think that will happen in a short time. Everything needs process and time, so if you can enjoy the process, you will not think about anything, and you will have the patience to wait for the time.
Maybe they are too now bored of holding their bitcoin and I think it is the main reason why they are now saying the the bitcoin is a boring investment. I'm a trader so I actively buying and selling bitcoin and for me it is never be boring because I love what I keep doing.

I trust the process also and I have patience to wait and enter to the right moment for me to make profit in the market. You will really be bored if you do not trust the process because it only indicates that you do not like what you are doing.
If they bored of holding bitcoin, they could sell it with the price now, so they don't feel like that Grin
But maybe they need to do another thing, so their mind is not thinking about bitcoin, and they don't have to watch the price moves like today. We need to find what we like, and if you are a trader, doing trading will help you kill the bored, and you will have a chance to make a profit. They can not enjoy the process so that they feel bored.

The price movements are also the reason why people will not be bored at all.

It is true that the price is staying for a while not but a lot of people predict that it will move again so that is worth waiting for. If you will be bored by that, I guess trading and investing is not for you. We need to be patient in fact, people should not be bored by cryptocurrencies at all since they move really quickly, you might turn your eyes away from them one thing you know, you are having a profit.
1091  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My suggestion on Bitcoin adoption on: July 08, 2020, 09:02:01 AM
I don't think you should love how Bitcoin is not that known.

There are a lot of people here that love to recommend using Bitcoin and despite the development of quantum computers, I think developers will find a solution to secure the blockchain to it. More users mean higher value but that also means higher volatility since it circulates faster but still, that is fine as long as people are actually using it.

That should be your suggestion here, how can we make other people be aware of it.
1092  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: It's ok if your profits are less on: July 08, 2020, 07:41:51 AM
I think you just played it safely, and that is just good.

I know that you could earn more if you waited but you will never predict that, right? No one knows how will the price moves so you just grab what you can do and work with what you have. Still, that is a nice message though.

The other thread talks about how people run away from this investment but with this kind of posts, you will also be motivated to be patient, that is just the thing people needed to stay here since it will bear fruit in the near future.
1093  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why people run away from trading!!! on: July 08, 2020, 06:44:08 AM
Using a demo account also reduces the danger in trading Through this we will realize all the market conditions But don't hand over Making money in trade is as easy because it is risky albeit it's damaged, we'll attempt to fix it later. Successful business people never hand over They always attempt to move forward avoiding risk That's why you've got to see the market before trading Fleeing isn't an answer.

It helps in a way but it doesn't show the reality.

Most of the time, demo accounts gives you good results that sometimes makes you think it is that easy. I am not saying it is bad but people might take it as a sign that they should invest and not really thinking how the market moves. Losing is inevitable especially with his kind of market, if you can't handle that, it is not for you.

Aguilar, Wong fined 20K for 5-on-5 scrimmage, will undergo swab testing

I understand the excitement of playing basketball again but these guys should follow the protocol that large gatherings are not allowed at the moment, not just in sports but for other regular activities as well. Just because IATF allows the resume of practice, players, even how popular they are, will just conduct a scrimmage.

For sure, there are other people here and not just players (obviously). The fine is small. Should serve a lesson if they will increase the fine.

In addition by this.

Here's another Aguilar breaking the quarantine protocols.

Japeth Aguilar spotted in La Union surfing town amid tourist ban:

On the bright side, the town still have no active cases of COVID-19 and they might even use it as the place(if ever it'll resume) just like NBA in the Orlando bubble.

https://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/japeth-aguilar-adrian-wong-fined-p20-000-told-to-undergo-swab-test-a795-20200706

It is also stated in that article that they are fined for violating this protocol and fined P20K, told to undergo a swab test, and 30 hours of community service. I thought to practice is allowed right now but I guess some places are still restricting it.

I don't think we should be blaming the casinos.

There are a lot of minors that are actually playing in different casinos, besides, you should do that nagging to the email you will be sending to their supports. They can't filter minors in their site if that is the case I don't think you should be able to know that your child is gambling. You can just block the site and other gambling sites on the internet.

1096  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Potential Valorant Esports betting sites on: July 07, 2020, 11:46:28 AM
Im sure that there are bookies that do offer this one but most in fiat based bookies for now but pretty sure this would be available soon in crypto bookies as well.

I really hope this is the case.

It is good that the NBA is canceled since I can save right now some of the money that I should've used to bet if there are games right now. Though my urge to bet is also getting bad so I stick to some online games, usually Dota 2 and CSGO. This game still needs to be developed since there are still a lot of bugs but I do want to bet on it since there are tournaments that happened the past few weeks.

1098  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Taxation on: July 07, 2020, 09:31:28 AM
~snip

I don't think it is that good.

Even in the normal days, I don't think it is that good for cryptocurrencies to be taxed. I think it is better to what it is right now since people are enjoying the freedom they have and I think it is also good for privacy out of the government's hands. If you are a good citizen, why don't you just add your profits from cryptocurrencies to your income taxes?

but i dont think there will be people that are willing to donate some of their profit as a form of tax  .

cant you see that even people that arent using cryptos  are still evading the tax so how much more if its not required  ? people will be happy and this is the reason why there are now many people going for cryptos  and one of that reason maybe is to escape the taxation   .  aside from tax , you cant say that peopple really have freedom on here because there are now kyc and other strict rules that will reveal your identity  .

It is the nature of a human to be greedy, we can't really stop them from doing that since we are the ones calculating our taxes, people can evade whenever they wanted.

In terms of freedom, I can say that we are free. KYC may be stopping this freedom from your point of view but not all of the applications you can use requires KYC. There are a lot of alternatives you can use but this depends on how you use your cryptocurrencies. Some local exchanges do require KYCs, which I also applied since I really needed it but if I don't want to, I can use other alternatives as well. It is just that this local exchange has its convenience to me than the ones that offer you anonymity. If you want anonymity, you can use them.
1099  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Earn and save in Satoshi on: July 07, 2020, 07:19:11 AM
Yes, most people just give up after the first try and that is why they never become successful. Success is not supposed to be easy or else it wouldn't be much of success, would it? The more difficult something is the more difficult it is for others to follow and do the same. If you are very good at something very rare then you will always have work and success because it is very difficult to copy. Becoming successful is something very few do. If just anyone could copy the success then the success would be worthless.
The problem with these people who give up is that most of them are desperste and they see bitcoin as a shortcut instead of a bridge to financial stability, OP's word of encouragement does not need to stop there, we might as well slap them with the truth because they need to get their game serious, they all think that this is a temporary fad but in reality there is more to it than that.

Since Bitcoin is volatile, they think it would be that easy.

The prices do change every time but it is a wheel of reality, whether you will be on the bottom or on the top, you will never know. All I know is that if I will not be thinking that it is hard, I will be easy-go-lucky and be surprised is it is hard for me, I might also be discouraged if that happens. You should be able to take every blow before you can blow yourself.

Either way, there are a lot of ways for people to earn cryptocurrencies. It is just matter of skill, knowledge, and patience for them to be able to use that to their way to success.
1100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin soon will become a boring investment? on: July 07, 2020, 04:49:06 AM
It's no way that Bitcoin will become a boring investment, the fluctuations of the price gives a lot of opportunities for people to make profit, but I see the enthusiasm of Bitcoin is slowing down, I think this is the cause of alt coins, but Bitcoin still one of the most traded crypto

The OP think it will just stay the way they are if that scenario happened.

I don't think that it will happen. The probable reason is that Bitcoin at that time will be having a good price. At that time, Bitcoin will not be stagnant, a lot of people will be using it and hoping they can invest and get on with the profits other people are having. Altcoins will have their movements too and I think that is more exciting than ever.
