but I'm not sure about your downward trend

Did you read the link I posted?

and can you see a trend:

Yeah Asicminer asic are well over priced - but I'm not sure about your downward trend - see this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=242964.msg2607401#msg2607401
1083  Economy / Speculation / Re: Lost my faith on: June 28, 2013, 10:06:20 PM
This was a fascinating chart and I checked out the numbers for BTC since 1/2011.  Was shocked to see that this trend has continued for quite a while:

Google Spreadsheet with Monthly Lows Summary Data

Interesting findings:
  • 23 of 29 months since the beginning of 2011 have seen an increase in the monthly low price
  • We are in the 16th consecutive month of an increased monthly low price.
  • The average change from one monthly low price in this time period: +35.70%

Nice spreadsheet -even assuming the increase per month settles at only 10%/month, that would still see the price of BTC rise to around 160 USD in 6 months from now...

Why do you want 2 kindles?

He's buying them with a stolen credit card.  You'll never see your BTC again.

Hmm, are you sure? Most people want 2 kindles so they can read twice as fast...

No Paulizei not aimed at you - no offense - just helps to cut out parts of a quote - like I did with yours Smiley

Ok, will try to quote less or shorter. Appreciate your input as I'm quite new writing here and still having my issues with (liverpool) english Wink
[No offense of course, too! Just kidding]

Brilliant - you got it - luckily for you I write in English not scouse Smiley

As hashrate goes up, block rewards go down
But don't worry baby, don't frown
Cause we'll just find a few more blocks per day
I'll all average out for you, in a way

Dont spend all your time on slush' page hitting "stats"
The lower block reward will make you go nuts
Switch over to graphs, at least for a while
Day earnings quite constant, that will make you smile

Besides, thanks for asking, my post count is fine
I really have plenty of time while i mine
But diff will go up, i guess saturday
And thats what will take our earnings away

hahaha....really excellent!!!

You should upload a video of this to youtube and post a link here - great!

this is not directed at any one person but in general to the @AMD 7870 posts above: I just recently upgraded my gaming rig to 7870 ghz edition (hit a 185$ deal on newegg ~2 weeks ago?) and i run it on win7 latest drivers and I get ~405 Mh/s average just using guiminer, which everyone loves to hate it seems, but it runs fine with latest drivers... so I am happy. I am more of a gamer than a miner tho, so my priorities are skewed.

for people who are more knowledgeable i am wondering: my gpu clock is set at 1100. what kind of Mh/s would I be getting if I did do a driver-downgrade and ran cgminer instead...? would it really be so much higher than the ~405Mh/s that i currently get with guiminer?

We all used to be gamers too before we found mining...

Nah, I think 420 max for your card so 405 is good enough. I have the same card running at 400 and I'm happy with that - don't want it to overheat...

Note how I have quoted Paulizei without spamming everyone with a massive post just to make a small point Smiley

does that mean, that i've quoted too much? sorry, my english is propably too bad to figure out the message between the lines.

i hope this question isn't spamming this thread (again?)

agree, too! higher hashrate means lower payout. but it's far more easy to watch your payout then getting some data about block frequency.

Note how I have quoted Paulizei without spamming everyone with a massive post just to make a small point Smiley
1095  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2.4 TH/s] Bitparking Pool, DGM 0%,vardiff,stratum,Merge Mining on: June 27, 2013, 06:18:16 PM
script works great! thanks a million! I am running it under IE10 (Win 7 64bit), will try it on Firefox and Chrome soon.

Thanks. FF and Chrome don't like the script because it's performing a cross-site script call (to get the last block number found) - so it's an innocent call but this is also how cross site scripting attacks work for hackers Smiley ). I'll come up with a different way and get the same result...

Have you guys not downloaded the large round predictor? I use it all the time and when a large round is coming I jump pools...
1097  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [2.4 TH/s] Bitparking Pool, DGM 0%,vardiff,stratum,Merge Mining on: June 27, 2013, 12:39:24 PM
Copy this text into a file called say bitp.html, change the USERNAME in 2 places and open the html file with your browser - auto refreshes and gives a timestamp at the top of the page - my gift to bitparking Smiley

I have not tried this yet but it sounds great! Thank you. Now if we could get a similar thing as a Firefox and Chrome browser extension.

Sadly, it's been pointed out that this script only works in IE - will fix this to be all browsers when I get a chance...
1098  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Solo each rig or pool on: June 26, 2013, 10:56:26 PM
But it's a serious question: what would -- at present difficulty level -- be a reasonable minimal level of hashing power, to make solo mining viable?
Comes down to how long are you willing to wait between finding blocks. I'd think that a block every 2 days would be what you want, that is 0.0035% of the network, at 197Th now, about 680Gh.

Interesting -- so if someone has two BFL minirigs it could be worth it.

Yes, if you had 2 x 1.5TH/s = 3 TH/s you would currently be finding on average 1 or 2 blocks per day...
1099  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] ASICMINER Block Erupter Blade - 13Ghps Hashing Power [WTS] on: June 26, 2013, 09:09:34 PM
Well about the 13Ghps Topic --> The webinterface shows indeed 13.000+Mhps, but still calculating proof of share is based on luck. So, average Hashrate fluctuates in time. BTW the Blade is made in May 2013 and has the latest firmware! = Rev.2 Board (it means it can be OC'd by a simple mouse click).

This thread is not an auction, it is an offer to sell the blade at a fixed price! Until someone hits the reserved price we have a deal!   Wink

Might be better to turn it into an auction and take what you can while you can - these are going to be slashed in price soon I reckon and 26 BTC is a good deal for 13GH/s
