1101  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: March 13, 2022, 05:20:41 PM

Actually, in cricket, it really needs a big change and we all know that the domestic setup is all around test cricket. But, in my opinion, that should really change otherwise people are not going to be interested in domestic cricket at all. and a lot of the newer countries will also not be able to progress well. Because we all know test cricket needs a lot more skill than the other two formats. It also takes a hell of a lot more time. And the other two formats just seem too good at the moment.

Test cricket is obviously very important for every team but it's not something that is too attractive for the fans. And also it is quite tiring for the players.

I don't think any new country is interested in test format. The last country to get test status is Bangladesh in 1999 till then there is no new inclusion in test teams. The popularity of football lies in the fact that it's of very short duration and ends in 110 minutes. If cricket needs to spread the only way is T20.
1102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: March 13, 2022, 05:14:39 PM

Apart from the Australian women's team, it's hard to say who will be the next three teams to qualify for the semi finals. England and New Zealand did not start the tournament well, but they have the tendency to catch up later in the tournament. WI, India, and SA are equally good to give tough times to big teams. This time there are no clear favorites except the Australian team.

The way things are going it seems like Aussies women will win the cup and yes 3 slots for semis are open for all teams. If you see history of women WC only Aus, new zealand and England have won it. I don't know how other teams have performed in last WC but this time the dominance of England and New Zealand have been neutralised.

Three days left in this match and there is nothing Sri Lanka can do to save this match, they need 419 runs to win the match and with the team they are having and they pitch they are playing it will be a huge surprise if they could bat the third day, it is a matter of time that Sri Lanka would fold with the way the pitch is behaving and i am not expecting the match to go to the 4th day.

Yes there is nothing much left in this game to discuss. A good all round performance by Indian team and miseries of Srilanka continues to increase. Lyer is new gem for India in Test for sure. He has played lots of T20Is but not many tests. With kohli failing in every test innings bcci must consider giving some new talent a chance.
1104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: March 12, 2022, 10:03:28 AM

That is true that we (Pakistan) do not have any infrastructure for the women's cricket team. They lost to India on that day and today they will again lose to Australians as this match is being played now at  Mount Maunganui. Australian team needs only 25 more runs to win and they have 18 overs to complete this run chase. Though one can argue that Pakistan women's team exposure is increased by playing in world cup matches but unless we do not have a proper domestic infrastructure, it's of no use.

Pak-W team performance today is better then how they performed in last match against Ind-W. Pressure may be one reason why Pak-W failed to play quality cricket on that day. Pakistan team is new in women cricket and they should try to get experience by playing there full 50 overs quota. Women cricket is dominated by England, Aus and New Zealand and its because these boards are behind there teams.
Pak-W just lost the match to Aus-W by 7 wickets. Alyssa Healy was the top scorer from Aus side who scored 74 runs.

The result is what matters in the end and Pakistan have lost both matches and are at the bottom of the points table.

Today we had an upset where the West Indies women's team defeated the England team. This means that both WI and Aus have won both their matches while Pakistan and England have lost both their matches. I must say the tournament is getting interesting.
I like the spirit of @umarIdrees. Always supporting Pk and coming up with logics to support his nation. But one thing I agree with. There is alot of effort and hard work needed to make a team or an athlete a real hero. Which is somehow missing. But let’s hope one day!
Bad luck for Pakistani Women Cricket team. South Africa won with 6 runs. The match was interesting - despite the fact subcontinent team was in full form South Africa won by 6 runs. That was the only chance for PK team. But better luck next time. Shabnim Ismail did a got show with three wickets at the expense of 41 runs. But  SA team is super amazing. Great show by the teams.
1105  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 11, 2022, 05:55:37 PM

Right now the first innings of the West Indies have come to an end and they have collected 375 runs.
As I thought the lead would not be too big but they would certainly have a lead and that's exactly what happened, they have a lead of 64 runs, so much expected result.
Let's see how England approaches their innings.  Smiley

England have a positive start of there second innings as they have collected 94 runs so far and lost just one wicket. Seems like this match will end in a draw. West Indies performance is this test is satisfactory and they have made it clear that they are capable of playing test cricket. Good to see something positive coming out of WI team.
1106  Other / Off-topic / Re: Could Trump be the right choice for the ownership of Chelsea. on: March 11, 2022, 08:04:25 AM
I watched a documentary on Trump and got to know that he owned an airline too which went to into loss and ultimately it was closed. One of his colleagues admired him so much that even during those days - trump sided him. There is some charisma in his personality - Trump is liked by the American that is why he was supported by many Americans, most of the american appreciated and admired his policies. So, I think there is no harm if Trump own it.
I hate Trump probably more than I hate any other dictator in the world and Trump wasn't even a dictator, he lost, he tried to overturn but failed and he just left, so it was a democratic situation even though it pushed the boundaries a lot. However, even as a person who hates him, I have to give it to him that there is something about him that rallied the republicans more than anyone else in the world, there was something about him that rallied even democrats more than any other president.

Biden became the president with the most votes ever in history, and Trump got the second most votes in the history as well, which tells you something when he got the second most votes and still lost. All in all, he would rile up the protesters, and he would rile up the supporters. Not a bad choice. However, he is broke and has no money so he can't buy Chelsea, probably can't even buy just their training ground.
One of the good things Biden did. Was getting their forces out from Afghanistan after 2 decades. Which might have saved a huge revenue for States. But some of the bad decisions of Trump does not make him a bad man. He has support from his colleagues and his team. Although he is not a sportsman and his personality shows that he is not much interested in sports or exercise so I am not sure he  would be able to deal with this stress.

Pakistan is going to play another match on 11 March with south Africa and I am sure South Africa is going to win this bringing their ranking higher up in the chart.
Yesterday in India VS NZ both team played well. I will keep a follow up what Pakistani team did. I wish my prediction become wrong. And Pakistan win at least one match in the series but this seems impossible. Fingers crossed!
1108  Economy / Gambling / Re: Join a collective boycott of all Russian gambling platforms on: March 11, 2022, 07:33:15 AM
I am very glad that I am not on a campaign for any of those platforms, if I have any proof that anything I am doing helps Putin waging his war I would immediately stop it. And this is a very good idea, listing the sites that are Russian owned and that could potentially be paying taxes that help a war of aggression. Betting is about fun, and having that type of result is anything but.

I guess, we won't know the extent of how these casinos are tied-up to the Russian government. Even if it is Russian-owned, are they legally under the jurisdiction of Russia? Some are licensed via Curacao Gaming License. So how are they paying taxes to the Russian government? Some are indeed identified as Russian-owned but usually they are virtually licensed somewhere like Estonia or Costa Rica or Curacao. Anyway, it is really up to the preference of the player here. We have our own take on this matter.
I am at least at ease that world started speaking up. Already there was so much chaos in Palestine, Syera, Iqra, Kashmir, Afghanistan. But Since it was never the interest of EU and the world. No One spoke about it. No one even thought that there are human beings dying there as well. These Muslim countries  have seen so much deaths and blood shed that they won't be able to survive a normal life if they have managed to save themselves from the war.

To refine what I meant, I was trying to say I think Dune is more of a technical win candidate then an overall winner on the acting or story side of the Oscars.  Sometimes they win both but this time I think we could see more of a split
Yeah I don't expect Dune to win may Oscars (of any) outside tehnical ones. Unfortunately that's how it goes when it comes to sci-fi movies.

We have come a long way in budgets, I remember Titanic was gigantically expensive at 200m.
Titanic was the most expensive movie for something like 10 years and it really stood out back in those days. It paid off though as it was the highest grossing movie until Avatar came.

I always look at the ratio of the rough return they got, this doesn't exclude extra such as franchise rights for models/toys possibly etc. which can be massive.
Of course, there is a lot of money to be made from dvds, blurays, streaming rights, toys etc. One thing to keep in mind is that when we see that some movie grossed let's say $500 million, that doesn't mean that all that money goes to them as you have to deduct percentage that cinemas take and others in that chain so realistically what's left is maybe 50% of the box office, at best.
There are many cost which we are not aware of.
Also I watched Dune as well - I have never watched a movies that made me want to read the novel as well. Dune was no doubt one of  the most exhilarating and fresh movies I've ever watched. It felt like an experience that a movie should give. Even without reading the books was I able to quickly catch on to what was happening throughout the film. PHENOMENAL MOVIE! Definitely recommend
I was  going through a very  difficult time in my life ... but after watching  the  trailer I instantly fell in love with everything about Dune's universe. So I decided to read the book and for the first time in my life I decided to go to the theater alone to watch this movie (It may seem simple, but it's something very difficult for me bcs I feel alone with no one by my side.) I'm sure it will be one of the few moments where I could be happy with myself and be able to feel a little bit of joy alone.
After watching Dune - I have so many feelings, but the thing that stands front and center is This is everything we want in movies. it's thrilling, It's passionate, it's emotional, it's fantastical, it's intense, it's fast-paced, and heart-stopping and creative and just DOWN RIGHT ADDICTING. I watched this movie twice already in two consecutive days. I don't care how long it is, BUT I WANT MORE OF IT!  It held me captive, stole my heart, and I have the BIGGEST DUNE hangover ever. The worldbuilding was so freaking good, it was freaking magical!
1110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 10, 2022, 06:31:21 PM
@umerIdrees - I have the same concern, seems like you are the right person to ask this. Why did NZ team ran away before the start of the series, I read it on internet that Pakistan PM, who himself is a cricketer went to the field himself and assured them that everything is fine even he spoke to NZ PM but they refused to play and went back. I have heard the same rumors in Aussie case, but seem like they are a bit daring to take the stand.

Well NZ team received some suspicious email that they will be attacked if they play the series in Pakistan. They decided to fly back. It was their own decision or it was influenced by BCCI, the details are not public.
It's their stance and will that they opted for what they think was best for them but they didn't know what was coming afterward. Later everyone told them that they did wrong.

Pakistan got more strong with their verdict and we gave a clear statement that if any country wants to play with us, they need to come and play here. Best security will be granted and  No neutral grounds will be accepted. If Australians had refused this tour, we would not have gone next year to their country.

Lesson:- Be strong, be a lion and the world will respect you.
I don't think Pakistan would refuse to any event. They never did. No matter what happens they are always ready to do the game. I have seen many people and countries refusing to coming to Pakistan. For example the big Bollywood names hardly visit Pakistan but Lollywood actors run to India even for the side roles. Likewise most of the countries refuse coming to Pakistan, but Pakistani run to those countries. There is nothing like a lion in there - there is always a self interest there.

Why are you comparing bollywood lollywood to the cricket industry  Cheesy  Both are different industries and Bollywood is far ahead as compared to the Pakistani movie industry. The local actors here will keep on going to the big industry but have u ever found a Pakistani cricketer going to India?

And regarding, Pakistan never refuses the cricket tours even though other teams do not visit Pakistan, well that was past. Now teams have to play in Pakistan and live example is the world best best playing in Pakistan with its full strength. That's what we call a change Smiley

Let's talk about cricket - in women world cup, Pakistan Women cricket team is at number 8 in ICC women's world cup 2022 point table ( last ) where as Indian Team is at number 5. Indian Team played well during today's match, Although NZ won by 45 runs but the match was worth watching. Pakistani women cricket team need a bit support to come up to other top teams.

For example, from fresh data, some gambling sites are already starting to block Russian users, as PokerStars says today on Twitter, it seems that now others will support this initiative

Important update: we are suspending all our services in Russia

Some sites are supporting the boycott while some will not.

Can we call this a sanction also? I mean, how would the site benefit from it, or will it call the attention of the Russian government?
This is just gambling, even if it's ban, they can live without it, the biggest sanction IMO is the economic sanction which I'm sure will result to struggle of their country.
Russia is in deep trouble now. There is so much else for the Russian government to worry about than on the gambling industry. The sanctions and bans from all over the world is a stab in their chest. I wonder how the government is bearing all the pain of international sections and the trouble they got from around the world. The economic sections are going to affect a long way. I wish like the war has been cursed and the world tries to cool the situation down, the same would happen for other countries in trouble.
1112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is now a good time to be investing in Bitcoin? on: March 07, 2022, 05:30:09 PM

I also think that the price of Bitcoin will soar if the war between Russia and Ukraine is over. When the situation is safe, peaceful and peaceful, that's when people will feel that investing in Bitcoin will be profitable. Now what investors are afraid of is the occurrence of world war 3 which will take a lot of lives and will paralyze all internet networks so that we cannot do anything about the lost bitcoins.

Price of Bitcoin for last month or two is fluctuating between 35 to 40k$ window. I don't think Ukraine Russia war has any major impact on Bitcoin price so far.
There are very rear chances of WW3 as USA and its allies are afraid of indulging in war with a super power who has support of China.
Let's hope peace finds its way forward before it gets too late. These days every country has lethal weapons n in case of ww3 there are no chances of human life survival, nor fiat neither btc is helpful in ww3.
1113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and her sisters: Why do most governments hate her? on: March 07, 2022, 05:20:22 PM
The government will always hate what they can’t control, they would want to be in control of everything. And if they are not in control of anything, they would try to stop it, which is what they have been attempting to do for long now since Bitcoin was created. And they also believe that Bitcoin is a bad currency that is being used for illicit activities (a lot of people have been made to believe such).

And apart from that, they also believe that Bitcoin mining is harmful to the environment, because of how the PoW works. Some cryptocurrencies has been switching to PoS because of that, we don’t know if that would be the case with Bitcoin.

BTC mining is harmful for the environment but factories established in regime of every government that is polluting air and water 24/7 have nothing to do with environment. It's just hypocrisy nothing else.

I do agree with the fact that governments of all big powers are against btc since they can't control it. Currencies like XRP, BNB, USDT which are centralized have zero opposition from governments.

This opposition is not limited to btc, if you are journalist and speak against government you will face same opposition as btc is facing since its inception.

The whole world came to a standstill with the death of Shane Warne . No one ever thought he would die so soon. In fact, death never comes to anyone. And whoever is born has death, it must be accepted. The amount he has recorded in the history of cricket is unimaginable. It goes without saying that there is no second leg spinner like him. I pray for him to be well on the other side.

I would say he is the second one the number one is Murli dharan of Sri Lanka. Both have wonderful contributions for there country. Its my personal choice to rate Murli as number one spinner.

"The autopsy in Thailand has confirmed death by natural causes" source. So we have a conclusion that his death is natural and there is nothing suspicious about death of this legendary spinner.

Woman cricket was improved a lot now.Indian Woman team won the Pakistan Woman team by 107 runs, it was not a easy task.Indian Woman team won the West Indies team by 81 runs.Indian woman team had match against Newzealand team on 10 th of March. Both the team was strong on his order of batting. It will be the 8th ODI of this World cup.Seems Indian Woman team in a fire to chase the title, which was missed by mens cricket team.Good luck all the team playing in World Club.

I don't think women cricket in South Asia has improved nor there are any chances of improvement since the boards are only interested in men. Developed countries like England, Australia and New Zealand only pay attention to women cricket since for them women are equal to men. I am sure this time too title will be won by England,  Australia or New Zealand.
1116  Other / Politics & Society / Re: FIFA and UEFA has suspended Russian Football teams. on: March 07, 2022, 03:07:27 PM
This is the wildest thing I have ever seen. Even during the First World War, the warring sides played a football match, stopping the confrontation for one day. I can understand sanctions relating to the aggressor country's economy, I can understand disconnection from SWIFT, but denying the ability to participate in sporting events is beyond comprehension. Yes, Spartak Moscow is a Russian club, but more than half of its squad is made up of foreigners. This is nonsense.

In general, it was correctly noticed here that neither Saudi Arabia, nor Iraq, nor Iran, nor Yemen were subjected to such sanctions. But here is other case.
The reason behind every country have got different reasons. The ongoing war decision by Russia over Ukraine seems to be an unwanted war. Even after contempt from several countries and organisations around the globe Russia stood on its decision. Sports is part of the government and that's why sporting organization have restricted Russia. Maybe this will have its contribution in stopping the war.
Well, I think the main reason is the fact that everything is happening in Europe, and not in the Middle East or Africa. All this is painfully perceived by the elite of Europe, which in general manages almost all sports associations. The ban on the participation of Russian teams will not bring any contribution, because those who made decisions do not play football. They really don't care about any sports games.
By and large, they don't care. This is pure politics, when they try to influence the elite in Russia through ordinary people, but it is unlikely that it will work.
Either its politics or sports. What is right is right and what is wrong is wrong. super power has been killing the weak countries for their sport. Have you ever read the line As flies to wanton boys are we to the gods; They kill us for their sport. Just those line comes to my mind when I hear how the big countires are killing the innocent for their sport. Thinking they have authority to do anything.
1117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 07, 2022, 03:03:24 PM

For Australia, this might be just another series or country they are touring but for Pakistan, this definitely is a higher pressure series. If they win it not only will they prove their strength as a good test team, other countries too might reconsider the idea of touring Pakistan in the future. A big thing to see will also be the viewership this match gets. An international match after so long for Pakistanis at their home soil. Playing the spin would be the most difficult task for Australia tomorrow obviously. They also will definitely play with 2 full time spinners.

Australia is only touring Pakistan because of there strength as a strong cricketing team. If Pakistan manage to dominate this tour then surely rest of the cricket teams will also tour Pakistan. England and New Zealand are scheduled to tour Pakistan later this year. Pakistan is a safe bet in ODI and T20 but slightly sloppy in Test. Let's see how things went tomorrow.
I doubt that - most of the team do not visit Pakistan, despite of the fact that there are dye heart fans of cricket in Pakistan. Its been years than Pakistan hosted any international series. I don't know what a external factor which don't let sport bloom in Pakistan. But I saw on local TV the love for cricket in PSL. Aussie are surly going to have great cricket and lot of fan support from Pakistan. Finally cricket is back!
1118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying BTC vs Mining it on: March 07, 2022, 03:02:43 PM
For me, buying Bitcoin is a better option than mining Bitcoin. It's because electricity is costly and Bitcoin is illegal in my jurisdiction. But I can accumulate Bitcoin and take advantage of the price volatility. So it fully depends on your situation and jurisdiction as well. We can't suggest without proper knowledge about your jurisdiction and electricity price.

I would have a different opinion on this. If I have 40k and I don't know whether I should buy Bitcoin or mine it, I would rather find the answer myself by doing my own research.
Bitcoin mining is not much profitable these days as it requires expensive mining devices that eat too much electricity. The ROI is low now a days, right time to mine bitcoin was till 2014-15 since then complexity has gone up and reward is also low per block.

The stimulus can be positive or not...

On the other hand, it's necessary to think that these athletes have friends and family members fighting against Ukraine or trying to escape from the confrontation, how is it that these athletes are thinking that when they return to their countries they may never find their friends and family again!? This is sad and demotivating!

But I'm sure of one thing... in these games the whole world will be rooting for the Ukrainian athletes.

The world really has duel standards that need to be changed. In Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya the USA and west invasion was given false cover of uprooting terrorism and bringing democracy but now same is done to there ally by mighty power of Russia they are chanting slogans "Stop the war".

Ukarina finished 7th in PYEONGCHANG 2018 Paralympic Winter with 7 golds. Its not surprising if they are performing good in these winter olympics.
