~snip In F1 car its like a 80% of your performance, and for that you see BOTTAS so low chances to catch anything.
agree here, I would even go with bigger percentage just look at some drivers, and their performances this season, Alonso was were competitive till now, but it seems that Mercedes and Ferrari are catching up with their cars compared to Aston Martin, and all of the sudden, Hamilton and Russell are back into the race (almost as they learned how to drive again, both at the same time) but overall, it is just better car for them, and Red Bull car is so dominant that Perez and Max are looking as best drivers ever seen

~snip 2. Republic of Ireland vs Greece As for today's qualification games, I don't see any particularly interesting games to watch. In all games big favorites play against big underdogs.
in terms of final score, this one could be an interesting one Greece is a host, and needs a win to stay competitive with Netherlands for position 2 (let's say that France will secure top spot) Ireland played good match against France, but they are far from golden times when they were candidates for top competitions all in all, this could be a group with several contenders for position 2, most groups are with clearly defined favorites

didn't expect such a win for USA against Mexico, but as already said, red cards have more highlights than scoring on that much
interesting odds on Spain against Croatia, expected it to be more equally distributed, and bookies are seeing Spain as clear favorites (which makes Croatia a value bet), not sure about chances dough, seems pretty equal to me, Spain has young team that will have more chances, Croatia has experience and this could be a last dance for some of players

Spain was a better side, and deserved to win this one, and set final with Croatia that one will be interesting feat, and could go on any side
overall, Spain played offensive, clearly wanted to win this, and scored really early in the match, which gave them advantage, especially in first half
Joselu scoring just after he was entering the pitch was a really good substitution

~snip As you can see, the last game result was 8-3 so over 4.5 goals. Unfortunately for me because I went with under.
TBH, not sure what sources that is, but game finished 9:3 (I see that on a link result is 8:3, but that simply isn't true ) nevertheless, answer stays the same, it is Vegas/over, pity since I had it under as well scoring 9 goals by one time is really something special, and Vegas scored 21 goals in three home final matches again Florida, makes one question how Florida even reached final, after being 8 in regular season

ajax amsterdam has presented the successor of John Heitinga, whose contract was not renewed... Maurice Steijn will coach the dethroned champions in the future. the 49-yo, most recently coach of sparta rotterdam, has signed a contract until summer 2026
IMO, he is far from coach that will make his mark in Ajax maybe he is good enough for Europa league next season, but doubt that as well, he had a good season with Sparta, but that could be just a chance prior was in 2nd division with NAC Breda, and before that in Qatar maybe he will prove me wrong, but I think that Ajax will miss another title next season

~snip One would think that since we are a small country with less than 4 mlillion people we generally don't expect much from our players and national team, but reality is quite different.
this is so true, and I can resonate with that we are also small country, but (in any sport, not just football for the matter) getting qualified for WC, or even getting to later stages of the competitions is taken as a natural thing, not anything big just when you win something (or in case of bigger sports, finals/medals could be taken in consideration), that is seen as an achievement, all the other results would be just forgotten

~snip Wow! Most of you went with Netherlands to qualify for the finals. Being from Croatia I couldn't help myself to go with Croatia.
from my point of view, Netherlands are favorite in this duel as hosts, if it is played in Croatia, I would go with Croatia, match can go either way, but being host is a solid advantage nevertheless, Italy and Spain should be a better duel, but these are glorified friendlies after all, and motivation is questioned, although Italy is motivated by missing WC, and Spain by lousy result on WC, so I decided to go with them for Finals/3rd place Netherlands changed coach, but I don't see their QF as bad result, so Final should be a good compensation kudos to Vegas, didn't expect 9 goals from them, win certainly

Just sent mine and felt like questions were actually tricky for me when it comes to say, handball. I don't know anything about it, so I have to rely on bookie odds to understand who's the favourite. -snip
yeah, it is a round where you have to put some picks on a gut feeling, not sure how it will come up eventually but nice feat to see Croatia as a nations league winner in example for question answer (will be interesting to see how Cro2 will answer actually that question) tough round, but it is a summer break in football leagues, so time to look further to other events

when it was hard, Jokic proved he can lift Denver all alone, Murray added some points, but in second half when Denver made an overturn last night, Jokic was focal point congrats on first title for Denver and Jokic, they deserved it
will be interesting how this will going in next season, maybe they can repeat it Miami deserves congratulations as well, they kicked-out Bucks and Celtics and that eased case for Denver a lot

Since there are no tennis questions this week, I decided to give my answers earlier than usual. ~snip
yeah, there is nothing special that can happen to influence answers at this point nevertheless, I will send my answers on usual time, simply there is no time to do it earlier we are getting into summer, and questions about Nations league, but handball is a nice addition to questions, not sure but I think this is a first time to see handball questions? there is some volleyball as well, playing world league, maybe that is worth adding as well

agree, a heartbreaker for Bari and their fans, but seeing Ranieri crying after overtime scoring and securing Serie A was also a great feat he joined when Cagliari was in a position to fight against relegation from Serie B, consolidated the team, reached play-off, and overturned two better positioned teams, so both times Cagliari needed a win in two duels
hopefully he will stay next season, and show some skills in Serie A as well

Alaves and Levante played first play-off final for a La Liga spot, and it finished without goals next Saturday is a re-match decider, and Levante will be a host, but I don't see that as a big advantage, they had similar performance during season, and it will be a close call to see who is coming back
Las Palmas and Granada are already promoted, in a fury finish in Segunda

~snip Pretty good result for me considering I lost to you on the 1st season. Anyway, goodluck mate on your next round. good game, and draw was probably suitable to both sides performance good luck in future matches regarding Israel, they played really good against South Korea, and deserved to win that one, I had a feeling that Koreans are good enough to pick third place, but was wrong Uruguay was way better than Italy, and deserved to win that one as well, so both matches finished on a bit outsider side (but both were a three-way match, no favorites) off to next round
|
|
|
-snip Don't agree with this,
Cagliari also disagrees, but accepted it and scored in overtime to secure a win in Bari, and they are back to Serie A next season Ranieri made great tactics and Cagliari was much better tonight, while Bari tried to save the draw Verona will probably also stay, it is close to end, and they are leading against Spezia good compensation for Auxerre going down, now I again have favorite team in Serie A

Twente won 1:0, but it was far from easy, nevertheless, it secures them place in Conference league next season
AFAIK, Ajax is still looking for new coach, didn't saw that they appointed anyone still, not sure who is that young-one that they are gambling with hopefully, Feyenoord will have some money boost from CL, and next season could be as interesting as this one

having Djokovic to win RG almost paid out, but didn't expected that he will win in straight sets, one set to start playing was a rule before, now he starts right away nevertheless my point, congrats to him for winning 23rd GS
off to U20 3rd place match, didn't ever expected that it will be interesting for me, but new reality
