Following their loss to Arsenal and a draw in the Champions League against Frankfurt, Antonio Conte's side will want to play aggressively against Brighton, which may result in Brighton taking advantage, but I predict a draw because Tottenham cannot afford to lose to Brighton.

Brighton are playing a good controlled football and like usual Spurs would be playing counter-attacking football so as long as Spurs defend all Brighton's attack and get a goal in counter attack then I think they will do fine today. The challenging part is to survive through Brighton's attack and Spurs defence has to do a lot of work today. They are 3rd on the table and would be hoping to get points this gameweek.
1102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 08, 2022, 08:25:28 AM
Everton has really a good defense and there's few Everton matches end in draw.

Very good possibility that this might end in a draw but I am gonna slightly lean towards United here. They have found their form back and I think United will be able to find a goal as they have shattered some good defenses in this season like Arsenal.

Tottenham has a good record, but their current performance isn't looking good.

This fixture went under my radar but this one is also gonna be a difficult one. Brighton are playing a great football and Spurs have quality in their squad. Its hard to pick a winner in this one but Brighton seems likely given the way they are performing.

Even though Liverpool won few matches, but I consider they still couldn't beat Arsenal.

Arsenal are in great form and as an Arsenal fan I will go with Arsenal but Liverpool knows they are facing a title contender and might push themselves as winning against them will kill two birds with a stone- put points on the board and get closer to the title contender.

Manchester City are looking so confident at the moment, all thanks to Erling Haaland who has strengthened the team since he completed his move to City. The problem I perceive now in the team is how much they are dependent on Haaland, I imagine the team will struggle to win games if Haaland happens to be sidelined due to injury or suspension.

I also had the same concerns but I think City has lot of quality in their squad. They have good wingers like Foden and Mahrez who can score goals and then they have players like KDB, Gundo and Silva who can also go up the field and score goals. Also they have Alvarez who is a good striker of the ball as well so I think they have taken quite some things on note before actually going for it. I think they are gonna do fine even if Haaland gets injured as they have lot of goalscorers still.

-snip-

Villareal had a great start and lately they are having slight hard time getting goals with the absence of Gerrard Moreno who have been a crucial part of Villareal's attack. Villareal are struggling to get full points on the board and Sociedad have been performing great right now. I can't think of winne rin this match but I think both teams would be scoring in this fixture despite Villareal showcasing a solid defense in LaLiga so far.
Both teams can score maybe yes, if we see back the history of head to head in both. Apart from the absence of Gerrard Moreno, today at another competition Villarreal player got a hat-trick, a man who had just been recruited this season from Levante Luis Morales, it seems he has can adapted to this team although he is not young anymore.

Yeah I have seen their previous H2H and yeah Villareal has a very strong record against Sociedad but that's just records and doesn't tells about whats gonna happen in their next fixture. There are some players in Sociedad that can take Villarreal by surprise and Sociedad are also playing good football like Villareal. Villarreal also is a great team so its gonna be a tough fixture but I still think both teams have equal chances to win the match.

Maybe the reason why Chelsea doesn't want to extend Kante's contract is for other reasons and have found the right midfielder at this time to fill Kante's position before, after waking up from injury I'm not sure he will perform optimally, of course there will be other considerations from Chelsea, especially Graham Potter as coach a new one but on the other hand, if Kante is not extended by Chelsea there are other rumors that London clubs Arsenal and Tottenham will sign him but on a free transfer but it is also still not clear because what will definitely wait for his development again.

I think there will be lot of clubs that will go after him. Kante is a great defensive midfielder and lot of big teams a good player in that position. Honestly will love to see him at Arsenal as he puts a lot on the field and he is a good ball winning midfielder. About free transfer, not so sure as others might swoop in  before they keep on waiting for his contract to end but also its a slight risk with him becoming injury prone now.

Did wolves sack Bruno Lage, then expect the game tough one
Chelsea will eventually win but it's going to be tough
Diego Costa at Stamford Bridge what should we expect from him

Bruno Lage was a decent manager but it was obvious that he was gonna sacked after poor performance coming into the new season but squad will need a good strategy to put up a good fight against Chelsea which I doubt from the interim manager whoever they have given the command to. Costa signing is more like a backup as they already have good strikers but prone to injuries. With both Jimenez and Sasa injured, I think they should start Costa and if they do then I think there is a slight possibility of Wolves surprising the Blues.
1107  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: October 06, 2022, 08:10:17 PM
Also Real Sociedad only get the advantage by playing at home, but Villarreal defense is very strong if we look at this team historical record only little of goals score conceded. I mean out of 7 matches conceded only 2 score that should be a point important to think, so Villarreal defense is very consistent and it won't be easy for the hosts to break into the away to score. So I think this match will end 0-0 or maybe 0-1 if Villarreal are lucky, but for Real Sociedad win I personally have a little doubt.

Bellingham and Musiala are both wonderkids playing in the same position. Their market values are very near each other also. I think that any of them would be a great choice for Liverpool. However I don't think they will be alone in these races. But Liverpool really need a solid midfielder now. They can't go on with Harvey Elliott in the whole season. Maybe these players are also very young like Elliott but I think Bellingham - Musiala duo are more talented.

I assume that it would be easier to convince Dortmund for Bellingham rather than Bayern Munich. Because Dortmund are already accustomed to selling this kind of skilled youngsters after some time passes. Bayern Munich are more like the buyer kind of a team when it comes to this kind of promising players.
Bayern munich would never sell Musiala to any club this youngster has a bright future in the colours of Bayern he would be price out by his club thus Liverpool will definitely keep off, meanwhile Bellingham will jump at any opportunity to sign for Liverpool if Dortmund and Liverpool agreed on his sign-on fee, of course Dortmund is synonymous with selling of their talented youngsters to big clubs thus recouping their investment in such players whom they signed cheaply that is indeed a massive profits, the likes of Abumeyang, Haaland, Manuel Akanji etc are products of that club, it's obvious that Bellingham will also follow suit in that order to big club.

Yes I think so too but that depends on how far the other club is willing to go for the player with the bid and negotiations. Musiala is a great talent and Bayern Munich will obviously like to keep him but there are lot of eyes on him. Any big bid might tempt the club or any pre negotiation from players side also push things internally for a transfer. There are more eyes on Bellingham however and it will be a good war between those clubs in the transfer window for the player. Liverpool might go quite far for their player as they don't have a strong mid and Klopp has admitted that they need a strong player in a mid to fill that void but it has to be the right one for them and I think Bellingham fits in quite well.

Manchester City vs Southampton is a walkover the game for Manchester City this weekend, Manchester City has sustained consistent winning this season, and facing Southampton will not make big difference or be a big challenge for man city as the head to become the top club in the premiere table this season. But Chelsea may not be able to make that same record as Manchester city as both clubs have matches coming up same day this weekend, this Saturday is going to be a lot of fun for premier league fans as good matches are fixed for this Saturday.

Southampton hasn't had a great start to this season and yeah City are likely to have an easy win. About Chelsea, they are to face Wolves and with Bruno Lage sack I think they will lack clear direction on tactics and all so I think Chelsea will also easily beat Wolves. The ones I am actually interested is Arsenal vs Liverpool and Everton vs United this gameweek.

Arsenal have a really hard fixture. Liverpool might not be in form but they have a great squad and they can start their winning switch at any point.
1110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 05, 2022, 05:56:07 PM
Manchester City would love to continue with a rare striker like Erling Haaland for so many years. However it seems really difficult considering his father's statement about him. Haaland might also be willing to play for some other big teams in his career also. But before leaving it seems like we can see him breaking the goal record in one season in the Premier League. He might be the biggest help for Manchester City to win the Champions League title also.

As long as Manchester City reach their Champions League goal they wouldn't mind him leaving after 2-3 years. Otherwise they wouldn't be very willing to do this I believe.

Haaland contract is until 2027 so very likely that he will stay until then unless there is a really heavy bid from other team which I highly doubt. He is right now happy at City and he finds the team good for his development so it is evident that he is gonna stay here for a long time. Honestly I want him to stay at City or in PL as I just want to see how many records he breaks.

Yes, Liverpool will play Arsenal this weekend. Arsenal, which is also on fire, seems to be a tough opponent for Firmino cs. You see, Salah seems to be in a down form with Liverpool in the last few match where it is difficult for him to score goals. The Liverpool forward's goal instincts have been lacking at the start of the season, but somehow they have managed to beat Bournemouth with 9 goals a few match earlier.

Arsenal can be favorites in the match this weekend especially because the morale of the team is very good after winning the derby match with a promising score. If Liverpool dropped points today against Rangers in the Champions League, then you might see their motivation going down against Arsenal as well.

It's an important match for Gunners as Liverpool are not an easy opponent and also after dropping so much points, Liverpool will be hoping to change things as early as possible to keep their title hopes alive. Although Gunners are the favourite, but Liverpool also have dangerous players. It will be an interesting battle between the two as both are title contender teams and both need the points desperately but only one can get the full 3 points in the next fixture.

As always am gonna go with Arsenal to win.

Pep Guardiola made a mistake that put his team's defense and concentration down after Haaland scored a hat-trick. In the 75th minute, Pep Guardiola withdrew 4 of his players at once and was replaced by 4 substitutes in the match. It had time to make Manchester City lose concentration so Manchester United took over the attack in the remaining 15 minutes of the match.

As a result, Manchester United's 2 goals were created since they took over the attack in the last 10 minutes of the match. So actually it was not the genius of Ten Hag's strategy, but Guardiola's mistake which made his team concede 2 more goals in that match.

They became over confident that 4 goal lead is enough but I think United also did well. Antony goal was a brilliant one. Martial also was at right spot at the rebound and other one was just a penalty off a poor challenge. Anyway they got the 3 points and that's what matters at the end.

I wouldn't say it is Guardiola's mistake entirely as players also needs to be alert of their opponents and they weren't after they got a good lead.

here is a remarkable list of premier league records that Erling Haaland has achieved so far (matchday 8 ):

  • Diego Costa, Papiss Cissé and Mick Quinn so far held the record with 11 goals in their first 10 premier league games. EH has already scored 3 more after 8 games
  • the previous record holder, Michael Owen, needed just 48 pl games to score three hat-tricks. EH needed 8
  • EH is the first player to score in his first 4 premier league away games
  • EH is only the 25th player to make five scorer points in a premier league game - and at 22 years and 73 days, he's the youngest of them all
  • EH is the first player in premier league history with hat-tricks in 3 consecutive home games
  • never before had a player made 5 goal appearances in a manchester derby in the pl
  • EH scored nine times in the premier league in august alone - that had never happened before this month

That's some fascinating stats^^. I am sure Haaland is gonna make some more and it's just a start.  I am rooting him for having most hat-tricks in a season and on top of all hope he stays and breaks the Alan Shearer top goalscorer record. That record has been there sometime now and I think Haaland can break that if he continues to play in Premier league.

Real Madrid will look to maintain their 100 per cent record in all competitions when they host Osasuna.  However, it is interesting that the visitors are now on a good away record having won their last two away matches.  But even so, Madrid is still the seed in this match, I'm sure the Whites will be able to overcome Osasuna even without Benzema.

Yeah they will be hoping to win here as Barca are also going head to head with them on the table. Real Madrid also have their game in CL so they also might not wanna push here in their La Liga match. They have too much quality in their squad and they can easily handle a side like Osasuna. About Osasuna form, they have been playing quite well defensively and are holding onto lead so that's how they are gathering up points on the table.
1115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 02, 2022, 06:36:28 PM
City with Haaland is just too good - they seem unstoppable at this point. He's exactly the type of player they needed - a no-nonsense, high workrate quality forward option that will have a million of good passes to chase and convert.

He's got 3 hattricks in 8 games - I heard somewhere that the record for 3 hattricks before him was like 40+ games or something. He's not going to the WC so he'll be well rested - he looks set to break all the scoring records this year.

He had definitely adjusted and is gonna break many records this season.

He has 3 hattricks in 3 consecutive home games - first player to do that (in PL I guess) . He is the third player in Manchester derby history to record a hattrick with last one scored in 1970 which is like 52 years ago. I think he also is the first one to score a hattrick in Manchester derby debut if that's also a thing.

Seriously what a beast and sensational performance from him but obviously that couldn't happen without support of his teammates. Those crosses and the exceptional pass from KDB just tells how much support he is getting in the games from them.

Since Man United was held by Ten Hag, Ronaldo has started to lose his place in the main squad, he often plays as a substitute or doesn't even play at all.

Thats because ten Haag sees Rashford and Martial as better option than Ronaldo in the team and he has to pick those players in these kind of games to keep his job safe.

Man United is like punishing Ronaldo because he had wanted to leave Man United to find a club that could give him a chance to play in the Champions League. As a result of failing to get a new club, Ronaldo had to stay with Man United and had to accept the harsh reality there.

I don't think so. Him wanting to leave has nothing to do with United punishing him with lack of chances. If he would have been performing at top form then I have no doubt that ten Haag would have picked him above Rashford and Martial. Let me ask you what's the guarantee that Ronaldo will get keep on getting regular chances if he changes team considering he still is unable to perform? Every manager puts faith on a player but when they are not reliable whether it be anyone, manager has no option but to go with other players to try some change and see if that changes anything in their form then and if it does then they stick to that after then.
1117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 02, 2022, 04:30:28 PM
I personally was rooting for Manchester United to win Manchester city so that they can get off the tail of arsenal but it seems Manchester United could not do the job and arsenal has to buckle up not to lose our first position.

Yeah me too with backing United. Would have been great to see the decent gap between City and Arsenal but City were too good for United today. United were sloppy at first half but in second half they really played well. In first half they were not confident on the ball and sloppy in mid with the passes and they paid the price. I still think United hasn't lost their form and they have lot to improve and from what I am watching, I think they are improving slowly.
1118  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 02, 2022, 11:57:05 AM
About Man City vs Man United, I believe Man City is still superior to Man United, they should get full points. Man United current performance seems not enough to beat Man City because Man City has a stronger squad. Moreover, the match will be in Etihad, Man City players must have a special motivation to win at their home.

City is without doubt are in great form than United and they have great squad too but United always have surprised in big matches. So far I haven't seen a solid City in the season as while they might be scoring goals but they have been caught in the back on couple of occasions. If United gets an early goal and defends their net well then they can defeat City today.
1119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 01, 2022, 07:20:31 PM
I was reminded of Manchester United some time ago whose defense worked very poorly. I wish they wouldn't be Manchester United vol 2. Lol.

Well I don't think so it will come down to that. Liverpool have been playing great in earlier seasons and it just they are going through rough patch. Klopp is a smart manager and I think he will fix this but it will certainly take time but they also don't have time as it is slowly taking them out of PL race. With United it was way different, their players not that well to begin with while players in Liverpool had seen quite some success.
1120  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 01, 2022, 06:34:35 PM
These mistakes will keep on coming as long as the loophole is still there, Liverpool will on keep struggling probably till next window when they must have covered their loops with the right signing for the defensive and midfield jobs. Like I couldn't believe my eyes when Brighton scored 2 goals within about 15 minutes of play.

I would say Liverpool's defense line has gotten quite sloppy like Arnold. I think they could have stopped some of the goals and break down some plays. I wasn't surprised with the goals they scored as they were having a great build up and Liverpool's defense line had no clue on how to break it. I also now feel like it has now gone to as a serious concern. They need to tighten their defense as they really can't afford to drop points from here on.
