1101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Leaked logs proving Wolong has 4.2 billion pandas on: March 18, 2014, 05:36:46 AM
There's approximately 298 BTC worth of panda before 50. Even though he owns 25k worth of panda, I find it hard to believe this guy has control of 200k he'd be willing to toss at Panda in an attempt to move the market. So many coin holders would come out of the woodwork selling for whatever.

I don't see it happening.

the guy is talking about marketshare ... think again ... there is a breakingpoint where one could calculate that even if it costs you x btc to raise price 10% you could with that action raise the value of your holdings by multiple times that x btc if your share in the coin is just big enough.
Imagine you would hold 99% of a coin. You could fix the price wherever you wanted.

i think after this has surfaced here he has no choice but to buy it up quick before everybody else thinks and buys before him and sets up sellwalls and his plan fails. So if he doesn't want to fail he needs to act quick. Then again this could be deception and op is actually himself wolong that wants us to buy panda up while he is only watching. Who knows ...
either way i think panda will be up 500% tomorrow

I don't disagree that it could happen, but if he's anywhere close to 50% there are billions and billions of coins in sell orders just in 1-10, his orders would all be placed behind those.

that's why it could make sense for him to buy that bunch of orders pretty much in one go.

edit:
but i think since this thread is going now he is also likely to just dump his stash and move on. He already took profits from panda.

it's a gamble for everybody.
When will devs and investors understand that everybody could be rich if people would cooperate in a sustainable project instead of pnd and scam each other. I don't think that there always needs to be a looser in this game. Unfortunateley people don't see that and do whole day nothing else than ripping each other off because that's probably the only thing they know.

litecoin!
1104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: altcoins are all dead on: March 18, 2014, 04:03:39 AM
There is only one reason, the inflation rate of the coins are much bigger than the community can support. @FreeTrade has a good analysis how many btcs required to support a coin each day. Altcoin is a big family, money move in and out any minute, eventually they should be treated as one society. The inflation rate in this society is way too high.

so wannabe devs, please stop making new coins, you are not going to get your time of money back.if you need so many btc premine to support your expense, why don't you just buy off the entire stock of some current coins in teen satoshi level. it has pools, has exchanges, saving all your so called cost, and your time as well.

ppl, stop buying ipos, stop buying coins from those ipo investors, the ongoing demand cannot support newly issued coins, you are going to see your investment halved, and halved again and again.

+1

i myself holding lots of different coins and entered 5 more today alone ... some of them were 95% down so it was a bargain, but someone else lost 95% ... i still have megacoin and it hurts, now primecoin goes downhill ...
I will absolutely not buy into ipos anytime soon and also buy at this stage into new coins only after they are 95% down from what they traded at first.
i just recommend: let all new coins untouched and let them loose that 80-98% at first before you buy in while we as a community should focus again on bringing back the better of the older coins and give those some value first before we move on to new coins.
Let's make sure good coins don't fade away because of the flood of new ones.
Also: aurora made a splash, ok. But it didn't even play out yet and we didn't even see if it is scam or fail and there are already cloned projects for other countries that will fail for that matter for sure. Because they copy something that hasn't even played out. And in the end everything fails because nothing was finished - only 1000 things were begun and nothing finished.

also like only 50% maximum of wallets of new coins pass the malwaretest.
We should also absolutely not touch malware infested shit. It makes me sick to see malware infested shit being pumped while clean coins get dumped. This is not rational.

raise the bar for new coins! Let shit die without pumping it even once! Stop pumping and dumping coins that are not worthy to invest in! If you have to pump and dump, pump something decent at least!

1106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Forecasting Altcoin "Daily Price Change" Winners and Losers on: March 18, 2014, 12:52:21 AM
Gustav and Xardas,

I understand your point of view and I think it actually makes sense. In a sense, anyone who publicly picks stocks can alter preferences, and due to that, could potentially increase demand/prices of recommended stocks. The point is valid. That said, the formula should be altered repetitively (and regressions rerun repetitively) in order to adjust for new historical data. If I do post the regression results, it will be in an academic journal.

But, getting back to posting results and boosting demand, I suppose that's an additional reason why this "could" work. But, what I was aiming to do was really test the theory here. Nothing more. I wasn't willing to toss too much money into this, and as the guy who created the model saying that I wouldn't bet on it (yet),... it would be crazy to invest your own money. Thus far, some days have worked, others not so much. But, on net, I think it's working to a degree, as winners are up. To give a bit of insight, I feel my formula is pretty much based on economic theory and swings. When I say swings, I mean it's not surprising that stocks (or in this case altcoins) that have huge swings would revert back to a mean. Since, it's a panel regression model, this is particularly true because we can measure "relative" swings from coin vs coin in variables. I use the variables on coinmarketcap.com to construct the model.

Like I've said, I'd love to figure out how to run the model consistently and do it in an easier fashion. Meaning, I'm a statistics/econ guy, not a programmer. The regressions are easy. But, I'm manually pulling the data off coinmarketcap.com. Then, I'm adjusting the data, which is labor intensive. Then, I'm plugging in the forecasted model to create a price change for each coin. The process is a pain in the ass and it's becoming more complicated as new coins enter the market. This is one reason I haven't been able to really keep up with it as much as I would have liked.

Ideally, I'd be the regression guy. That's it. That's where my experience comes from. The data pulling, the programming, etc... I'm not efficient with that. There's probably a way to do this in an easy manner if the community really wanted to get behind it. I mean, the truth is it could be automated. But, who knows if that will ever happen. Time will tell there.

please link us the articel here as soon as it is published. Since i think pricechange depends on a lot of factors of which not every one is a quantitative one. Since prices are multicausal the formula should become better the more influences are captchered in it. For example: Buy/sell depth on the books and how exactly it is distributed and changes is one thing. History data is another thing, then the overall mood of the market, then the blockrewarddecrease, then the change in networkhashrate and other thing. Then when you got it running and are giving out predictions regularly and gain attention you would have to factor in also the influence of your predictions (maybe deriven from views per day of your website) - there is many factors to consider. If you can catch the bigger picture it should be possible to get something useful from it. I will be watching this thread and waiting for the published first formula. Good luck with this.

now that i am on board let's get it moving ...

this could be very easy the next cool thing to happen on the internet. I think it can strike some attention with some pr and go very well viral if done right. Please organize some giveaways in the right places. Think about target audience and then get it. Hope this one works out.

two awesome ebt videos already...go pimp them to your friends and dont firget to list stuff for sale at ebt.cryptofleamarket.com once its finished

i don't have any friends anymore since i told them to invest in altcoins. All i care about now is midgetescorts for ebt ... all the rest doesn't matter anymore ...   Wink

can op show us the formula?

This could also be the most sophisticated scam we will ever get to see. Imagine the guy tells you 'i am doing it based on past data' while he is actually buying and selling himself on exchange to make the thing fit. After gaining fellows like any other guru he could then command his own pumper and dumper army ... just a thought. Or why is the mathguy hanging out in this forum but is not brave enough to invest only 5$ but on the other hand has a lot of time for threads and is well educated about alts. Sorry op, didn't want to piss off, but i am overly sceptical i think - i got my reasons.

Formula or it didn't happen Wink

I can also give out predictions and then go on exchange and make it happen. Maybe wolong/fontas just got mathematical Wink

this cryptsy-tread-title is on my personal top three on place three now after  "cryptsy tries to break me" (place one) and "fuck cryptsy, fuck cryptsy, fuck cryptsy!" (place two)

what's next?

also the dick-sucking and hating intensifies it seems. This internet is fun. More drama please!
1112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / what sense do nation-coins make when crypto is really international? on: March 17, 2014, 01:08:31 AM
Aurora, spain and soon others to follow?
Yes, but why are nation-coins celebrated as a progress, when they are really a step back?
Why would you introduce 235 shitty altcoins in 167 different countries when everybody could be better off with just ltc, btc or xpm?

Are you sure this is the right track?
Isn't the international bitcoin more convenient then 200 national shit-altcoins from italy to micronesia?
1113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What would you want in a Alt-Coin on: March 17, 2014, 12:49:02 AM
i want an altoin, that acts as an reliable store of value. It doesn't need to make 1000% in 24h ... is is better if it grows at sustainable and stable rates so i don't have to check twice a day if it is dead and abandoned already after the first bubble crashed or if i got myself two more days to sell it off at only a small loss before it is then finally abandoned for the next new shit.
So right now i would buy any coin that won't be worthless in 8 weeks
It can also be an old coin brought back to life.
I would prefer some of my older coins i am still bagholding (because i didnt want to sell at a loss) would come back a bit. Would prefer that over new features of wothless new coins. I am more interested in that 'value-feature' than in chatboxes in clients.
For sure we don't need more trash that fades after only one cycle of buying, crashing and burn.
Devs should create sustainability, reliability and trust right now instead of promises and gimmicks.

1116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can we stop acting like a damn Casino??? on: March 17, 2014, 12:12:04 AM
i was just about to open a similar thread. Pandacoin devs ran away. Leaving a community behind to start another coin ... i haven't been involved. Just found that out today.
Where is mrc?
Pigs not flying ...
myr became pnd
pnd went belly up
continuumcoin - being added on cryptsy soon and still no value
usde - didn't move much ... why was this not a splash?
Topcoin saying at one sat forever ...
peng one sat, karm one sat ... more coins going to join the parade of .00000001 ltc per coin
Riecoin ...
even the much celebrated Reddcoin is after the cryptsy-add at lower prices than it started at.
why?
not only because of all the new coins but also because old projects are given up all to quick and easy (young dev thinks 'let's start a new thing and abandon the old - most quick and easy'). Why should investors come into something where they on the one hand have no more perspective in winning much (as is right now) and on the other have the risk they come online any day and while they were only sleeping the devs were exiting their coin and it was dumped already - person looses. Will not repeat many time.

Start making the investors money again or you can all go home!
The next big thing after bitcoin would probably be now a coin that is sustainable for more than 6 months and doesn't loose 90% of value in that period of time ...

just had a laugh about 42coin btw

it seems all new coin are going to bubble up exactly one time and die after that and are forgotten. If that is, what it is going to be like for the next period of time concider this whole operation to be an epic fail. It was the case not only for 42-coin so far but also for mec, qrk, xpm, wdc and others

i would call the thread 'can we stop acting like a trashcan'?
Create some value guys. Don't be so much of a throw-away-society. Sober up! Create value!
A focus on coins that are sustainable and will be around for longer periods of time (durability as a the new mega-feature) and thus being a good store of value (what else is this whole show basically about if you are not a scamming dev?) probably will make everybody more money right now than a focus on a quick, astronomic rise that doesn't happen anyways.

uno is going to rocket again soon. Should be about bottom ... let's make this coin one of the top 20 coins. I know it can be. sellresistance is very low all the way back up. With the next halving we should see a new run on unos i would think. 100% gains from here easy. Coin should be 20$ soon. Also it has a very supreme aura. I am sure it will survive long term. I think it is very possible this becoming a big coin over time.

1120  Bitcoin / Legal / does AML apply to commodities? on: March 02, 2014, 05:46:55 PM
I would argue that we need to distinguish between cryptocurrencies (inflationary, no max cap of coins thought for use in daily transactions like doge or frc)
and cryptocommodities (hard max cap with exponential diminishing blockrewards and thus deflationary and not of great use as a currency to drive economics or do a great deal of transactions like btc or uno - which are more a store of value like gold or real estate)

i would call for this distinguishment between cryptocommodities and cryptocurrencies since this way all the currency-laws wouldn't apply to deflationary crypto and would save us a lot of paperwork at least for the commodities since other laws would apply (see german approach to bitcoin). Was this brought up before? I know in most countries i can purchase small and medium amounts of precious metals anonymously (up to around 5,000-10,000$ per day in most cases). Those rules seem to have worked for a long time for those markets since they are still applied after decades. Why would that not work for btc? I think it could. In my opinion the law should treat btc like it treats gold and silver. Makes the most sense.
