1101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Proposal for mass adoption: the introduction of a new unit of account on: August 15, 2023, 07:38:16 PM
yes, I'm not exactly a newbie :-)

If there's already a debate between sat and bit, it's obvious, according to this paper, that we should go for bit. Talking in sat is strictly pointless in view of the arguments deployed in the article.

Maybe Nakamoto isn't a good idea, and we need to find another one. But the term "bit" doesn't stand out enough from "bitcoin". We need to find something different, and above all, use it.
Some of the ideas that backs bitcoin is the consensus about the ideology it portrays and I feel the day we start seeing changes such as the proposed, that’ll be the day you introduce doubt into the system on decentralization as people largely aren’t going to be okay with this and the system is just good as it is. There isn’t any need for a book of account on it.

Bitcoin seeks to be considered on its own and not having its value to be defined by fiat.

Quote
The current and future exchange rates with the main FIAT currencies would then be of the same order of magnitude: with $1 = 34 Nk at present, and why not, with time, a move towards an exchange rate close to parity: $1 ≈ 1 Nk.
While this proposal might seem rational at the time of typing, you could as well recall that bitcoin is highly volatile and the values at which the conversion rate would be equated will continue to have some real sudden changes. That’s not the sort of thing we hope to see. The bitcoin and Satoshi or mBtc as we’ve got is okay for any conversion rate.
1102  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much should I invest in cryptocurrency as a beginner on: August 14, 2023, 11:51:28 PM
9. Monitor regularly: Monitoring your investment regularly will help you make informed decisions and adjust your investment strategy when necessary.

Feel free to add some advice and if possible experiences.
This is the only point that I’ve got some struggles with accepting. Yeah, it’s not exactly a bad idea to monitor your investments but when it comes to bitcoins and one who has got a long term hodling plan, that could turn out to be a disturbing thing to do. Let’s not forget, the bitcoin market is a highly volatile one and can swing at different points and as such, being a beginner when the market goes bearish or you find price dumping at an unexpected rate, that scares the shit out of a beginner. You start building the idea of loosing your portfolio before you make profits, you want to cut loose and in the process, get to accept loses when the market has got a more promising feature in time.

Not paying much attention to the market is one way to avoid that, you don’t get to think about your decisions on hodling and is easier to endure hodling for a long time by avoiding the chats. That’s for long term bitcoin hodling though.
1103  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [banned mixer] 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: August 14, 2023, 10:09:59 PM
I just want this game to be done with already let me see the point gaps. Don’t just know how you guys are still having players yet to feature in GW1.
I still have three bullets to bank on; Martinez, Casimero and Fernades. I expect top performance from these players later today and hope that Onana will not decide to be a midfielder today again instead of a goalkeeper. They should be able to win the game and keep a clean sheet.

Does anyone have Sterling on their team? Cheesy It looks like he is also one player for Chelsea that his experience is going to be heavily depended on in this young Chelsea team. I think if he does not get injured this season, he will play many games for Chelsea and score some goals too.
I always knew Onana was good and he yet again proved himself with his first clean sheet in the EPL and could well better the Manchester United side from a goalkeeping angle. No wonder his preferred by many already.

Well, it’s all done now and it seems your prices Martinez managed to earn you nothing, lol… I feel your pain bro but, you got an average from B. Fernandes and Casimero gave what Casimero can give. Well, at times Casimero can come up with some surprising goals but, his not a midfield to keep, trust me. He handles the dirty jobs for Manchester United and that means, plenty of yellow cards to come and so, having him on your team is a risk and some promised points deduction, I don’t look forward to that, nope.

Trofo bangs his first on the sheets for GW1, enjoy it man, we go again in GW2.
1104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [banned mixer] 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: August 14, 2023, 02:26:46 PM
@Igebotz, I should have listened to you about Kai Havertz - I've prematurely dropped his ass ahead of GW2, just can't see the 7.5m valuation there and unless he hits some crazy stride of confidence he'll be mid at best. Love the start of the season, though!  Grin

£7.5m flop ! Maddison is the same price as Kai Havertz and is four times the player. There are players who aren't fit for FPL, and Kai is one of them.

Mbeumo is another player to put on watchlist.
I don’t know how Kai Havertz managed to get on some people’s team, perhaps some way to get what your price allows you but, his not a player that can make any good impact from his performance at Chelsea last season. I think his just going to feature more as a new signing and would later be vying for his spot on the team. His a good waste of £7.5m alright, Bowen is just about £7.0m and you’ve still got a bank role of £0.5m for your bank role.

Bowen is one player am looking up to, I didn’t had a good look at the Spurs game but, am sure Madison is a good player and would improve in Spurs as well as the Spurs play which makes him a player to watch out for.

Come on today Rashford, you are my last bullet in the magazine.
I just want this game to be done with already let me see the point gaps. Don’t just know how you guys are still having players yet to feature in GW1.
1105  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The effects of Bitcoin on Forex on: August 13, 2023, 10:53:28 PM
Forex trading simply refers exchange of international currencies against another. The least trade way you go worl with aboki for street, omo you don trade foreign currency o, e no remain online with them brokers and there platforms. Though, na for the online na em people really take the trade to another level as, you git dey do spot market trading where, you fit dey profit or lose with every pip on the chat.

You get am when you say, people don dey trade forex since before bitcoin come and even till now, forex na stil very vital market way dey employ many. One thing you gat realise be say,the inception of bitcoin no get much to do with forex but instead, e open people eye to forex and more online awareness. Crypto options even feature for forex market under indices and people dry trade am as commodity dey go.
The best cryptocurrency do with gorex na to provide more options else, them both dey operate independent of themselves as it should be with your expertise to give you preference on where to spend more of your trading.

My people, e don happen o!  Bureau De Change (the people wey dey incharge of forex aka foreign exchange) don dey tell federal government to ban Binance to save our Naira. This one shock me no be small. I don't know how Binance take dey make our Naira weak abi na Binance dey manage our economy. 1107  Economy / Economics / Re: All millions are from real estate. on: August 13, 2023, 09:58:21 PM
I an agree with you that not all millionaires come from real estate. With that been said,
You might find out apparently that real estate isn't an investment option for the poor as, you often need a lot to invest with and have a long time to wait. Most of which can't be determined or projectable for marginal enjoyment of investment and some might even last a life time.

Following the steps in OP, one can say you know what your saying and probably doing wha you say but then, how can the poor profit in real estate business? It just seems to be a business for those that make 6 figures to make 7 figures and more. Where does it leave those that still dine with 5 figures and below.

The goodnews for most remains in the fact that, there are options outside real estate and the poor could invest there time and resources to still build a fortune that would last a lifetime and earn them the millionaire status as well. Real Estate isn't the last hope of a poor dreamer.
1108  Economy / Economics / Re: The Interplay of Consumption and Production on: August 13, 2023, 09:32:39 PM
now lets take something that never existed before. where no one had any pre conceived notion they needed it in their life.. manufacturing started first. then advertising then consumption. where by without the production, people would have been none the wiser they even needed it.
That indeed an instance but technically, will can as well say it was demand driven. Though this might be a complete or partially new product introduced into the market, it often comes as a lack or need to improve on the existing commodity or much needed service.

Let's say,
We all know how there are recipes to all forms of food. Probably a people have been used to a particular flavour but due to the lack of varieties, they find themselves sticking to that particular flavour. Now the trick is, the need or demmd for a change is there but, not as a product, simply the need for a change, a different flavour and upon introduction, you find patronage.

Will this scenario still align with what you've described above? Of course I give you credit for that but somehow, it still could be Demand >> Production as, if the demand wasn't there, you just might not find patronage.
1109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [banned mixer] 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: August 13, 2023, 08:32:10 PM
I'll take anyone up on a sidebet that Gvardiol will start more games this season than Stones will.
This bet is super on your side lol, looking at Gvardiol starting ratio all through out last season they were high for both club and country, although stones impressed me last season In the back and on the attack, and Pep can be unpredictable in his selection which makes your bet interesting. I don't think Manchester city went through all that troubles not to play Gvardiol at the center of their defense as much as they can.

Last season, Gvardiol battled injuries and missed the majority of the season. He is also in a more intense league and a fresh environment, so there is a 50% possibility that he will struggle to adapt, and a 50% chance that he will do well in his first season and cement his place in the starting IX. Both players are injury prone and that makes the bet more interesting.
I was so waiting in you to take this bet @Igebotz and you didn't disappoint me in taking the gamble. I think it's a win bet on John Stones. Amidst all the stats to the later already stated, let's not forget its the EPL and this is England's national team player (yeah, am bringing that sentiment to the bet) and Stones isn't a bad player too.
Still, an interesting choice but, the bet is on Igebotz the way I see it.

I bet 10 mBTC that "triple captain" chip will give me more points than you.

Hampuz where are you? You can take it too.  Cheesy

By agreeing to this bet, you do not need to continuously follow the game for 38 weeks ... just choose the right moment.

Have you used yours on Haaland for 39 points already?  Cheesy
Hahahahahaha, Hilarious. Didn't see that coming but, that was a lofty point for sure and such a strategy it was at the start of the league. I still wouldn't wish that on my triple captain. A double game week would be one means to beat that and on no other player than Haaland,. His going to be getting all our triple captain.

Looks like Trofo is to be congratulated on winning the first round (regardless of how M. United plays).
Oh no!
Come on naw, just come on. I mean, I liked the way the table was looking already and just now, I visit the table and its a dammed equilibrium points with overly 3 Manchester United players yet to feature… you guys are just great at trashing the joys out of me right now after feeling it was almost done! Still, I just might just have to…

Quote
Although I really hope that Rashford will not be able to convert a penalty and Shaw will receive a red card.  Roll Eyes
join you Icopress in making these predictions for tomorrow, somehow, you forgot B. Fernandes. I trust Wolves to not be an easy team but, having all them players zero out on points don’t seem like it’s going to happen. Trofo might just have to number in the first anyway. Congr…
1111  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Failed to submit review and also did not refund the payment. on: August 13, 2023, 09:02:18 AM
I don't remember whether you had a minimum merit/120 days requirement for this review, but perhaps you might need an active account requirement as well, after this.
There was no 120 days merit requirement but a lifetime 50 earned merits + Full Member minimum rank.

See, that's the mistake. Assuming malicious applicants, what is there from stopping old, dormant accounts from before the merit system coming in and making applications?

Or people who've earned their 50 merit a year ago and hardly get a merit in 6 months?

These are exactly the kind of things that 120 day merit requirements stop, because it can identify the active, constructive user from the inactive user and also the spammers/bounty hunters/etc.
I think that wasn’t a consideration here and shouldn’t really be with the review being just a one time thing and merit requirement is not always an absolute judge.
Still, it was a duty Jamyr old his contractor to deliver or refund. At least the user had been active within the period of assigning the contract and had been on/off before that, perhaps few days or a week interval in between posts. It would have been much easer to read the detail contained in the OP carefully and take notes to when you could deliver on contract as the manager would have been open to accepting or giving directives on request.

It’s just becoming clear now that something has been going on with the account, following the series of password changes via email and secrete questions also, the not so activeness of the account but hey, his getting the other side of the bargain and it’s fine to say it’s okay.
1112  Other / Meta / Re: Igebotz Nigerian Local Board Merit Source Application on: August 12, 2023, 09:08:43 PM
By the way, isn't CryptopreneurBrainboss merit source?
Based on the amount of merit spent by CryptopreneurBrainboss so far, I can confirm that he is one of the merit source.
He spent an average of 23.5 sMerit per month last year on the Nigerian local board, while he has spent an average of 53 sMerit per month (January - July 2023) on the same local board. But it would be better if there were additional merit source there because that could help more users get merit worth it with the quality of the posts.
You got that a briefed calculations just right and that speaks loudly as to how much allocations CryptopreneurBrainboss gets vis a vis what he earns from his posting and all used in the merit of merit worthy posts on the local board and across boards on the forum. Sure that wouldn’t be a enough, it just wouldn’t be which presents an issue of being looked into as per increasing the allocations for CB to ensure the user gets to fulfill his duty to the forum as merit source to a high capacity which am sure his capable of handling.
While we hope to create new sources, an upgrade on the allocations for merit sources such as CryptopreneurBrainboss would be a step in the right direction.

If Theymos could look into creating a new merit source in Igebotz and increased allocations for CryptopreneurBrainboss, it would be great.
1113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would We Pay Taxes When We Don't Exchange Bitcoin for Fiat Anymore? on: August 12, 2023, 07:51:19 PM
According to him, his fear is that if he sells it during the next bull run, he will be taxed, and he doesn't want that. A question arises: Would taxes still be applicable if a time comes when exchanging bitcoin for fiat is no longer necessary?
It all depends on how these taxes are being levied.
Worst case scenario has always been, having to pay taxes on already taxed commodities which always seems unfair but, realizing that you’ve not and your hodlings still counts for untaxed income, you would always get to pay tax on them if declared or found out.

Tax evasion is a crime none the less so, it’s important that you watch out and of course, it’s nations specific. It doesn’t matter if bitcoin is now common and widely accepted by a wide range of merchants. It’s income, it’s taxable and that’s what counts. Having it lying around in a wallet just hides it from the eyes of those who might sort it out that’s all.
1114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN: Give people time! on: August 12, 2023, 07:42:36 PM
Guess what he said, "well I did thought about it recently, and did a few research and decided I should give it a trial like you advised I should".

1. Give people time; they will show interest when the time is right for them. Their timing may not be same with yours, if you've done your own job of talking to them about it, then that's fine.

2. The amount of energy and time you expend preaching to someone about bitcoin is not a warranty that he will accept what you're offering. Maybe not immediately!

What do you think about this?
That’s just what it is.
You know it’s easier to listen when you’ve got interest than, when you’ve not. In our world today, no one wants to be taken for a ride and as such, people tend to ask what’s your benefit in having introduced them to a thing as, you shouldn’t be doing it for nothing.
The sad part of it for them is, there is just none when it comes to bitcoin. No referrer packages, just a good heart trying to aid an uncle, a friend, a siblings or what have you for a relationship.

Over the years, I’ve had my dealings with trying to tell some people about it but, so many times it’s been more useful having to wait and let them ask you,
What’s your source, how do you do it and what’s involved.

Then, it’s a thing of choice and a matter of your security to choose which way you would go. Give them the time they need and hope they don’t come up too late in either case, it’s not your problem.
1115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: August 12, 2023, 07:30:56 PM

Today we will see the final of the Arab club champions which will bring together Al-Hilal against Al-Nassr. We know the rivalry of these two teams in the Saudi league is very hot and this is a decisive match for both of them to win the first title before continuing to the Saudi league competition. This will also be a proving ground for Cristiano Ronaldo to be able to get his first title with Al-Nassr and it seems that it will not be easy enough because Al-Hilal has other European players such as Ruben Neves, Milikovic Savic, Koulibally and Malcom. But of course, this time too, Cristiano Ronaldo is not alone because there are other European players who have participated in strengthening the depth of the Al-Nassr squad, such as Seko Fofana, Sadio Mane, Brozovic, and Alex Telles. These two big Arab teams are very balanced and we can see these European stars heating up the atmosphere again through this match.

This of the two biggest teams in the Saudi League, we know very well that they are a classic, great rivals and that they have a lot to give, it is also the team that always finds it very difficult for Al Nassr, we eight players, as fans of the football we know that CR7 is a great reference for this league, that Al-Hilal is the most famous team and that now with everything that is happening in football it is the final, a final that Al Nassr was very much in floor, but thanks to the fact that CR7 did great things, a goal that was too safe, is what keeps him now in the final, now, I wonder how the hearts of the sheikhs who are heads of these teams are.

As for me, I think this league has a lot to give and offer for everyone, I know that we are used to playing styles in Europe, but I like this game, I wonder if they will leave enough in extra time ? That is another of the things that catches my attention about this Saudi football.

In addition to this, I liked that the protagonist of this match was CR7 with those 2 masterful goals.

Cristiano Ronaldo scores two goals as Al Nassr win Arab Club Champions Cup

Personally, I am very happy that this victory was won by Al Nassr and above all by CR7, he is a person who is doing well, despite the fact that it has been a stormy year for him, his criticisms and everything he has.
That’s one thing that CR7 thrives on, criticism and with him not having to see Argentina win the World Cup, his transfer to the Saudi side, his been hit by a lot of it but it suddenly seemed to have opened up opportunities for the rest of Europe to join in and make the league great again. Thanks to CR7 the Saudi league is now looking like a good watch and with the quality of players to have joined up, Al Nassr might just be unmatched.

The skills of Sadio Mane and Brozovic would serve a very useful tool to the upgrade to CR7 who was already making waves and have proven himself once more with another trophy to his name. It would be interesting to see how the Saudi side would proceed hence forth, especially in the UCL.
1116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [banned mixer] 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: August 12, 2023, 06:16:33 PM
Funny twit  Cheesy It seems that having Haaland in the team is simply a necessity, because if you don't have him, then you are not just playing "your strategy" but playing against a huge number of people who have him in the team. Obviously he will give a lot of points on average so I don't know which alternative to choose and how lucky to be to replace him.
That appears to be the case from his last seasons out burst and his already got a brace from the early kick off to start the season, that tells how prepared he is for the season and has got a lot of points to be earned off him.
That boy J. Alvarez is another player that could be up to something but, his playing time is questionable as he tends to feature more as a substitute player or just another option after E. Haaland who's fitness and conversion rate leaves him on the pitch everytime. I was surprised Pep had J. Alvarez on at the start of the season but hey, it's a start and Pep would always try out his team.

I've said it before:  Stones owners don't spend your FT on getting Stones out; he's Pep's first choice at CB, and I expect him to start against Newcastle united. He felt his hamstring, but it doesn't appear to be major, so he should be able to return to training sooner.
I don't have him on my team and don't consider having him as well. With the signs already surfaced, I don't think Pep would  what could have been a minor hamstring injury turning into something serious and that leaves me to think he just might not feature in the Newcastle game. Its another risk leaving him on the team instead of using him for a substitute player.

Hi guys,
We've got ourselves a nice pool right. Welcome all and have a good season!
1117  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Passive income with crypto on: August 11, 2023, 11:55:00 PM
Most of what your to meet in crypto for investment options is either you buy and hodl, trade or stake of which, staking is no longer the case for bitcoin as, liquidity pool isn't a need. Should you venture into staking of atcoins, there you might get something but even then, the reward on staked value wouldn't seem what the time and worst of all, when your staking on a coin who's value is declining and don't have much promises in the cryptospace. You would just as well be wasting quality time and the chance to have cut your lose when you ought not to have been hodling anymore.

Hodling of bitcoin would be one major way not to take a lot of risk and still be earning something. It might be time consuming and make for an exhausting wait but  it's often worth the effort if you've got huge hodlings.
1118  Economy / Economics / Re: Would You Consider Adding Bitcoin to Your Retirement Savings on: August 11, 2023, 11:41:37 PM
I think, bitcoin is not a good savings for retirement. it's because the price is moving fast. while pension money is used to enjoy the day when we are no longer working. if we choose to save some of the money we have in the form of bitcoin with the aim of retirement, then I think this is a wrong understanding, because if someone has held a large amount of bitcoin, then it is said to be a bitcoin investment, where the investment can have high price in the future, or have a lower price.
I don't quite get you,
Is that to say the value attached to fiat stays stagnant or same all year round or through time?
If that be the case then, what is inflation?

Fait money makes mo difference with bitcoin savings. In fact, your at advantage to have some of your retirement savings stored away in some bitcoin holdings. Though the volatility would be there, which is by measure an upward to the bulls price appreciation or a downward price movement towards the bears.
Your always subject to choose how to spend your hodlings either by hodling till the bulls come in or you spend just a needed amount while leaving some out for price to push back up and you gain in on your loses.

The question here is, retirement is often tagged at about 60years of age for civil servants although, it might not have a defined age limit for other fields but then, if we were to go by that or even older,
Will some users be able to work there wallets, exchanges and what have you in the cryptospace?

It's just something one has go tell himself though.
1119  Economy / Economics / Re: It ain't meant to be easy on: August 11, 2023, 10:48:09 PM

The same thing applies to every aspect of life. A degree, career, or anything at all.

If your first encounter with crypto was a scam altcoin, it doesn't mean you should wash your hand off of crypto. If you're still interested in it, learn from that bad situation and gain more experience from it.
What really would it have been should the world come with the a particular ease to having things done, that would make things a lot uninteresting.

Now, it would be awful to giving up on everything because you failed with your first, second or third encounter. In fact, your more bound to fail om a first trier because, your a novice at whatever you would be trying for a first time and lack of experience is always going to play its tricks on you and should you manage to get your first triers right, you still wouldn't be having an optimum result at it. It's always going yo be a near or distance result from what would have been the best or would be considered better.

In all that, you get to try again as, trying something entirely new poses the most risk of all.

Jamyr is surely a familiar username on the forum and whatever the excuse might be on the user’s part, it better be a dammed good one because, it ain’t funny having to bridge a contract the way it all played out. Not taking caution like informing the manager on any development that might result to delays or not having to meet up with the agreements as specified in Ann thread or not heeding the manager’s request for a refund within a set date.

What is worst, the coin appears to have been sent from the received address and not to the manager’s refund address but actually spent possibly in two phases.

First phase: BTC0.00270000 ($81.22)
Transaction Hash: b878264e8b78b63587f380b95590d0fb7a584b606923edfbd99026fb4ea9052c

All these transactions played out within 4th and 5th of august, 2023.
I think one who could find the time to make all these transactions should as well make room for the contract or do the necessary to maintain reputation. On these notes, it’s hard not to support flag so, yeah.

User haven’t proven to be good with loans and at the time,
