1101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I want to fulfill my mother's dream of building a house with Bitcoin. on: October 08, 2023, 08:29:47 AM
firstly I want to start my Bitcoin journey through trading, after making some money from trading I plan to invest in Bitcoin for four years. These four years I will hold my investment and also save the money earned from trading or signature campaign for four years so that after four years I can start building the house.
Most parents dropped their dreams and aspirations just to train and provide for us, their children. Helping them out with meeting those plans that they left for our sake is one of the best gifts we can give them.

Your plan is not out of place and I believe with diligence, consistency, and God's grace, your plans will all come through.
1102  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: October 08, 2023, 07:15:22 AM

Make no mistake even though the progress and prospects of bitcoin are very good but we should not assume that this is not risky because when you are wrong in strategizing and wrong in understanding bitcoin you can actually get a loss from what you do in bitcoin.

the way to go about any investment platform is to not get carried away with its prospect and hope of massive returns thereby making investment that if the worst situation happens you won't be able to bear the loss. Risk is a very vital part of part of Bitcoin and having the right strategy to managing such risk makes a whole lot of difference.
1103  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The fear of investment on: October 08, 2023, 06:20:03 AM
The high rate of fraudulent people bringing investment ideas is too much. It's very difficult to believe someone bringing such ideas most especially when you can't really see much evidence that the person is financially stable to an extent.

People will easily believe you if they see an high financial return on your side from the said investment.
1104  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / "They said..." Mentality leave you in poverty and ignorance. on: October 08, 2023, 06:08:56 AM
Have you met people who are always with the right information but are always not ready to act on it because of the rumors they've heard from people about those things?

Some persons had good business ideas but because they've heard certain thing about people that have previously done such business, you will see them make statements like " I been hear say this one or that one de involved in that business oh" and before you know, big dream done die like that and them no go wan proceed with the business.

Some people don even decide say them no de go school because of say them don hear say jobs no de again

Abi you wan talk of people when no go wan make investment because of wetin people de talk?

The truth is that peoples experience teaches and guides us to make informed decision but sometimes if we are not ready to make our personal research and also dare to take some risk, we will be only known for our brilliant ideas that never came to reality.

As you de listen to wetin people de talk, try to distinguish between discouragement, advice and a deliberate transfer of failure mentality to you.

1105  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Government Really Value Our NYSC? on: October 08, 2023, 05:29:29 AM
I think Nysc has outstayed its welcome. The purpose of Nysc has not yielded much result compared to the suffering and death of young students who went out to serve their father's land in the process.

They are not even consistent with the supposed peanut they send the this coup members.

The security of this people are not even taking seriously and all you think of is to use then as military reserve?

I have some persons that went from akwaibom to a state and were kidnapped on their way, till date, no reasonable move has been made on the part of the government to bring them to safety.
1106  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Try get good sense of humor, e get why on: October 08, 2023, 05:17:31 AM

1107  Economy / Economics / Re: Women are more economical than men. on: October 07, 2023, 05:41:50 PM
The reason why it might appear as though women are more economical is that they don't really have much responsibility to shoulder compared to men. Also, it's easy for a woman to get help from her male friends if she need spare money to fix her stuff but they guys does most the spending and has to be responsible for the source of the money.

Being a man comes with a lot of responsibility responsibility sha.
1108  Economy / Economics / Re: Without government job we can survive on: October 07, 2023, 05:31:01 PM
In as much as we expect that the government should provide employment opportunities for us, with or without their employment, we will still survive.

In the first place, how much can the government-established jobs give you?

Most of the employed salary earners don't even earn as much as an average business or entrepreneurial person earns.

If you want to make it well as a young person growing up, one of the first things you need to remove from you is the mentality that you need to be employed by the government before you start working or earning money.
1109  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Hwfa the "thread" trend? Be like they have left it behind o on: October 07, 2023, 07:31:35 AM
Una been remember say around July, snr bros mark Zuckerberg been launch this "thread" app and people been de hype the app wetin no good. E come almost be like say dem wan suffocate twitter and if you know de on thread you know even follow at all.

But then, time no de always disappoint. I can't even remember the last time I heard anything about that thread of a thing and some persons that were not that active online those moment the thread was trending might not even have known that such an app existed and even made a serious wave at the onset.

1110  Economy / Economics / Re: Population: Economic strength or weakness on: October 07, 2023, 07:00:12 AM
Some economists will argue that the reason for the underdevelopment of most country is due to overproduction.
overpopulation if not properly managed can lead to so many negative effects on the development of a nation as a result of using the limited available resources for a population that is more than such resources. But in reality, I think if we had good leaders, overpopulation wouldn't even become a subject to be bothered about,

The problem is that we concentrate on the development of a small fraction of our country leaving other part behind and you now find a situation where everybody want to congest the developed part while the local areas have a very small population of people.

If we diversity our developmental strategies and site companies in areas that is less crowded, it would bring development to those part and bring more people in the long run thereby reducing the population of people in urban areas.

I think most of these supposed over populated nations are not all that populated but rather, they are just congested at a particular area.
1111  Economy / Economics / Agriculture vs oil on: October 07, 2023, 05:49:30 AM
We know the oil market is booming and countries with oil resources are really making a huge fund out of it and sometimes they do it at the negligence of another local natural resource.

But, of course, the agricultural sector, though not given the proper recognition and the required investment is one sector that contributes seriously to the development and dependence of most nations .

No matter how blessed a country is with oil minerals, if its agricultural sector isn't working and she has to rely on other country for her food and agricultural resources then in event of war or political differences they might suffer.

Agriculture vs oil, which is the big deal when it comes to the economic strength of a country?
1112  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Beware of social media influencers promoting crypto vendors on: October 07, 2023, 05:29:40 AM
You just made a very vital point. Normally I'm not really a big fan of unnecessary investment platform when de in the form of Ponzi schemes but I nearly fell victim because the person that did the promotion na celebrity.

Na the same issue we de get with out religious leaders. because they feed us with Gods word and give us spiritual advice, we sometimes feel say they go fit give us legit advice or update on field when dem no really de into.

1113  Other / Politics & Society / Which does good leadership depends more on? Age, experience or education? on: October 06, 2023, 10:34:44 PM
We are living in a society where whether you like it or not, you can't choose to close your eyes to the kind of people who lead you.

We've had very educated leaders who got intoxicated by power and couldn't differentiate what was right from wrong and have also had some who because of there level of education and exposure have brought remarkable changes and developments to the place and people they govern.

We've seen others who are very old but believe they need to rule at certain leadership position before retiring and in so doing got the whole system messed up with ancient leadership patterns that had grown obsolete.

Some served in different positions in the past but with there wealth of experience, when divine vital position make a whole mess of the opportunity divine to them to serve.

Considering all these and the kind of leader that the world needs to face it technological advancement, should age, experience or education be the key index for ascertaining who would make a good leader?
1114  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: October 06, 2023, 09:36:00 PM
… but not profitable for Bitcoin.

It’s this statement that I feel drawn too, falconer are you saying holders essentially minimize the utility of Btc and this is what is not good for BTC?
so perhaps holding doesn't affect Bitcoin instead it makes the price to increase the more
Technically your right my friend, but on the other hand holding will give it a store of value in which it, as it is now, will be utilized and traded for more usable currencies. If absolutely no one wants to trade, then the market is dead, and no value can be assigned to it. By calculation, price is given if a trade happens, and if no one place any trade order, there's no price. But in reality, it can't happen that way, there will always be a buy and sell order when it comes to Bitcoin. Even if no one wants to sell, a buyer is willing to raise the price so high for someone to sell and then the price will go up instantly. So, in general holding bitcoin can be of advantage to those who wants are patient enough to hold till the desire price they want and of disadvantage to those who wants quick profit and might end up Lossing it on the way.

We all seem to focus on the how holding bitcoin will be of advantage or disadvantage to bitcoin investors. My questions is what if all Bitcoin were sold what will be the faith of those who have been holding for quite some time now?
Also what if no one wants to buy at the price that was set, definitely the price would go down drastically. and if no one wanted to buy even after the order was placed, then the price would go down even more. till there will be no trade.
1115  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / How una take de manage looking at your screen for a long time? on: October 06, 2023, 09:29:48 PM
Working from home has a lot of advantages ranging from the comfort it gives to the flexibility part of it and of course the financial benefit we get from it. Because of these things, we sometimes get carried away and pay little attention to the part of us that bears the serious effect of this work "that's the eyes".

Like safety people will put it " keep it simple, keep it safe" Wisdom demands that we, amid the comfort and goodies that comes with working from home, not forget the safety part which is a very vital part of the hustle.

Sometimes we will look at the screen for a very  long time and loads of water will drop down our eyes on a regular and headache will just come from Nowhere and sometimes our eyes will even swell up but we go just de fire down

For me, when e start to de worry me, I go just take small break for sometimes after which I continue with what I'm doing.

As we try to work safely and rightly, I would love to get your opinion on what you do when you start feeling pains in your eyes while working.

Would also want to know your experiences in terms of managing continuous exposure to screen light.

1116  Economy / Economics / Do we truly need cbdc when bitcoin already exist? on: October 03, 2023, 04:06:18 AM
CBDC (central bank digital currency) are digital representation of a country's official currency managed and regulated by a central bank. The idea is to provide an alternative to digital cash allowing faster transactions and increasing financial accessibility.

Its centralized nature allows the government to directly issue currency to citizens at the whim of central banks

This obviously means that they can not offer the same level of autonomy or censorship resistance that bitcoin offers

The fact that its implementation can lead to potential surveillance and increase government control over finance is something to be worried about.

Considering the fact that bitcoin has earned an high level of trust, security and borderlessness from it user with an inherent monitory policy brings the big question;

Do we really need cbdc now?
1117  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Will our girls ever change? on: October 02, 2023, 06:38:49 AM
The idea say "nobody really de reason you" don affect our girls negatively on a serious note

The majority of girls are just concerned about competing with themselves and will go as far as doing anything just to measure up with there fellow girls

You go see girl when never see better food chop with wig when de more expensive than her house rent all in the name of measuring up

Most of them no even de skilled and the only thing when them think say de reasonable for them to do na to go into hookup or date guys when de ready to pay for those frivolous expenses.

After we go hear say street boys don use them plus up and we go de blame those niggas when on a normal this girl no even wan help themselves.

I know say somehow, it's almost their nature now that they love to be spent on but the fact say so many of them don became very lazy and dependent on others de very bad

If you try see girl when no de into hookup and no de too compare you to her friends boyfriend, hold am strong oh! Her kind no plenty again for market.

I became active in the forum last month and at first, it was difficult to understand how so many things work here.

I read many threads and they were helpful but they weren't  detailed enough to give me the information I needed.

Then I decided to become open and make a post expressing my current problems in the forum. I had my fears but then, I just wanted to learn so I posted this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5467614.msg62881324#msg62881324

Although I initially received loads of criticism and of course some useful information, someone dropped a link to an article that gave me an insane guide on key fundamental topics like

1. Accounts: This covers almost everything you need to know about creating and securing your account.
2. Address:
3. Airdrops
4. Altcoins
5. Authentication
6. Bitcoin
7. Blockchain
8. Books
And lots of information I never imagined I could get from one particular place.

I recommend that every newbie or someone who is really in need of quality information should go through this
 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5364418.0

It is a library of information that you can't exhaust and remain the same.

Ask question questions and never despise the days of your little beginning. Every great person started as a newbie so enjoy the learning process.
