1101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is scarcer than gold. on: May 31, 2022, 03:12:54 PM
While this is of course true I think it’s important to note that there are many more differences when it comes to comparing bitcoin and gold. Personally I can’t stand this comparison and don’t understand why so many people are so quick to compare the two. Gold is a physical asset, a metal, and used for a lot more things than bitcoin is, such as use in cars, electronics, jewelry etc.

Yes, gold has many utilities and is widely used in life and there's no reason we should compare them. Currently, bitcoin is considered an investment channel more than any utility, investors in bitcoin just want to make profits, not use bitcoin as a means of payment or currency.

If we just talk about price then maybe OP is right, as bitcoin supply is very limited compared to gold. In the future, the value of bitcoin will surely increase and become the most valuable virtual asset.

The creator of bitcoin which is Satoshi Nakamoto invented this currency to be used as a currency and to be a utility someday to buy things but as of today, it's widely invested and then hold that for a matter of time until the holder wants to sell it. Yes, investors just started to invest bitcoin with one aim and that is to gain profits and not like the creator first imagined. But then again, still bitcoin holds a purpose because it can be a hedge against inflation.

As of comparing with Gold and Bitcoin, gold will remain scarce with a high value but bitcoin is scarcer and will hold more value because of its limited supply unlike the gold which its supply is not determined exactly and there's this gold in asteroids.
1102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should i Invest more??? on: May 31, 2022, 01:55:52 PM
If the investment is only about coins that already have potential and quality in the market, then there is no need to do a lot of research because it is clearly good and good for the future as long as investors are still very patient with the current market situation.
But when it comes to new coins or meme tokens, it's clear that you need to do in-depth or repeated research on them.
Except for bitcoin and ethereum, when investing in any altcoin I think we should do thorough research before investing.  There is no guarantee that the top coins on CMC will not crash and be forgotten. Although currently they are considered to be worth the investment like Sol,  Avax, near ... are all very good and potential at the moment but are you sure they will continue to grow as the bear market lasts.
There is no guarantee for investors to be able to profit if they do not do research first on the coins they want to invest in before entering the market because basically we certainly realize that the crypto market is very volatile so it is very, very necessary for us to always do research so that we are not wrong when we want to open buy/sell positions with the coins we want to invest.

Exactly! Even investing to the top cryptocurrencies in the market these days is still not a guarantee that these certain coins will give you competitive returns in the near future because these coins are also volatile just like the other coins. So, doing some research and studying is truly a must before you start investing in that particular coin or tokens that we wanted.
1103  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: May 31, 2022, 11:48:58 AM
Exactly, not as heated as before. I see this fight identically as people wanted to see Mike Tyson vs. Evander Holyfield third fight. Their second fight ended with Mikes DQ. Anyone wants to see Mike and Evander fight today? Even as an exhibition fight.

Nothing will be achieved with this fight. Fighters will earn a lot as usually. Promotion is going to pump this fight as a fight of a century. Canelo is already looking forward for another opponent, and  I see a sadness in GGG eyes, as this might if not last, but last big fight in his career.

Why are we judging this fight too early? Canelo is too arrogant if he is looking for his next fight after this, I think he should focus first on this fight as although GGG is quite old but he is a tough opponent, Canelo could not even dominate GGG in the last 2 fights they had againts each other.
1104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA Finals 2022 - Warriors vs Celtics. on: May 31, 2022, 11:25:25 AM
Lets discuss game 1.

Current point spread now is -3.5 for the Warriors, they are playing at home and have never lost a single game. I think it's an easy call, even if they are the public play, I still think they'll win this game.

Also, the total is only 211, over is easy here, hopefully not a trap.

It should be an easy win by the goldenstate Warriors at home but Boston Celitcs have already won several times at away games in the playoff series so i wouldnt be surprised much if they won again.
This is game 1, Celtics has not won a game 1 on the road IIRC, and the Warriors has never lost a game at home.
I will stick with what I believe, I understand that Celtics are a good team but I'd go with the trend until it gets broken.
Plus Celtics are 2 games more tired, and they will play so quickly whereas Warriors are resting. I have to say, it's clear to me that we are talking about Warriors here, they have been great before KD and did great this year again. I am quite happy to see them do great this year as well and I am not seeing them losing this series as a whole, let alone the first game.

However, if there is ANY team in the league right now that could stop them, it's the celtics. Who are the great players in Warriors? The shooters, who are the great defenders of Celtics? The guards. It's clear to me that Celtics will be defending like hell and will not make it easy.

Celtics are not gonna slow down the shooters of the Warriors, if they are good defensive, it's impossible they can stop everyone. They cannot even stop Butler which is the only pure shooter of the team, how much more the Warriors who are moving the ball very well and they have a lot of  shooters that could spread the floor.
1105  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should I buy BTC or DCA other coins? on: May 30, 2022, 08:57:10 PM
Since prices are down, I am going to spend some money for shopping. Not a lot, just what I can spend.
Now the question is, should I buy BTC (currently I don't have any BTC) or should I do DCA for ETH, SOL or DOT?
Now the reason I am asking this question is I have some of ETH, SOL and DOT, and I still consider that my ETH and DOT average prices are little bit higher, so DCAing would be nice option. But then, given that the I am little concerned what might happen to SOL and DOT in this phase of the market. Anyway, thanks.
If you are too worried with the future of your coins, then maximize your investment in bitcoin. No doubts that it will make the best asset for you in the future. So do the DCA for bitcoin if you want to give it a full blast, since every now and then its price is still dropping. Do not be over pressured on the other coins, just invest on the amount you can afford to lose. But with bitcoin, you know it won't disappoint you so reserve good amount of funds for it.
1106  Economy / Economics / Re: What happens if BTC's price falls to $8,000? on: May 30, 2022, 08:22:20 PM
The crypto market isn't essentially or intrinsically affected by the situations of other financial markets. The reason it is being dragged along is that many investors trade on multiple markets (together with many other factors). They usually move assets here and there but sometimes, they scrape off multiple assets into their pockets all at once. Some of them treat their crypto assets as a lifejacket, which keeps them afloat when the rest of their assets are sinking. Dependence on crypto usually entails increased sell-offs.

Just when we thought things are starting to quiet down and getting ready to swing back, the Federal Reserve announces that they will raise interest rates and tighten their monetary policy to combat inflation, landing another strong blow on the already beaten financial market. And we're likely to see more interest rate increases in the future until they bring inflation under control. One expert says that if economies don't hold up amid these hikes, Bitcoin's price might plunge further to about 70% of its current price, which is around $8000.

But of course, the Fed is careful not to trigger a full-scale recession that will take years to reverse so they'll jack up rates slowly to allow economies to grow simultaneously. Aggressive hikes are out of the question. Raising interest rates helps slow down the economy. When the economy reaches a point tolerable for both consumers and providers, it will start increasing its pace again. This will hopefully prevent any unwanted trends in the crypto market.

But like every bear market we've faced in the past, this situation is temporary. No matter how low Bitcoin's price goes from here, it will recover. That's because the only significant issue big investors have with Bitcoin and crypto, in general, is that they are, in the words of ECB chief Christine Lagarde, "worth nothing." And this can be solved by creating an ecosystem where people get used to using cryptocurrencies for transactions and are confident they will hold their value, which can be achieved with additional technological advances.

If there's one thing humans are good at, it's creating technological advances. And if there's one thing that won't slow down or stop from advancing anytime soon, it's technology. So we are heading that way no matter what.
That is too far to happen but i think everything is possible with bitcoin. And if ever it will reach that point, i would be very glad to buy a lot of bitcoin and fill in my portfolio with most of them. Its very rare that bitcoin becomes too affordable so buying the most of it is certainly the best thing to do. The current btc price is $30,789 and since the market is still in bearish, i guess bitcoin will drop its price more in the next few days.
1107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think we should do with our investments in times of uncertainty? on: May 30, 2022, 08:07:35 PM
Quote
While it is true that no one is a fortune teller, the investor has no choice but to invest with an expectation. From analyzes and appraisals, assumptions arise. And, then, from the assumptions, the purchases or the sales arise. The optimist thinks that the price of his favorite asset will rise in the future. And the pessimist thinks exactly the opposite. The strategist instead prepares for both scenarios. What if the price goes down? What happens if the price goes up? What you want is to grow financially with the greatest possible stability.
In my opinion when we talk about cryptocurrencies it is not known what can happen, it is really uncertain that prices fluctuate day by day, since in addition to being very high one day it can be very low, it should be noted that there may be crypto assets that people tend to follow , which have a lot of movement in the market (this almost always remains at a resistance) but in the same way these markets remain in a very inconstant ups and downs.

From my point of view there are two types of investors, the first is here that when they realize that the cryptocurrency is in a bearish state, they feel fear and prefer to sell their investment completely, this either generates little profit than expected or at worst the cases lose what was invested, and the second is the visionary who, when the cryptocurrency is in a bearish state, buys and waits for a bullish state to sell at a high price and obtain very good profits…. In my case it would be the second since I consider myself a winner and as they say "he who does not risk does not win".

A few days ago I talked about this a bit but I didn't go into depth as such and I wanted to see what you guys thought. What would you do in uncertain times?
Information extracted from: https://es.cointelegraph.com/news/how-to-redesign-our-portfolio-in-uncertain-times
No time to sell but hodl. Otherwise, you end up selling at a loss. However, it also depends like when you think you are hodling some sort of shitcoins, i think it's better to sell them right away before they ran out of value and consider them as dead coins. But if you are investing in bitcoin, then hodl it until you see the market is recovering and bitcoin is back again surging to reach its new ATH. That is if you still want to be more profitable with bitcoin in the next couple of months or even a year.
1108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Eastern Conference Finals (Heat vs Celtics) on: May 30, 2022, 03:02:33 PM
I think Udonis Haslem can easily go retire now, now that Draymond really has predicted that broken code. Well, congratulations to the Celtics making it to the Finals. Saw a thread about the revenge tour of Celtics in Facebook (Meta) after losing from past 2019-2021 playoffs from Nets, Bucks and Heat, they now made it to the Finals beating these teams in just 1 playoff this year alone. Just wow!

Celtics wasn't the favorite team to make it to the Finals but against all odds they made it, more like an underdog for this match against Warriors since this time people's favorite is Warriors to win the Finals. Of course, we love underdogs and of course, I go for Celtics.

Celtics really deserved it, after all the hardwork they finally reached the finals. It was a bit thrilling on the finals minute of the game as Celtics became lost for a minute as they carelessly didn't hold on to a 10 point lead. Lucky, Jimmy didn't make the three.
Who else right here who appreciates what Butler did on that last crucial possession? Heat and Butler is drained and won't probably going to win the OT. That was a bad decision and shot selection for Butler at first sight, but nah, that was the right thing to do. Live or die with that 3.
Yeah, missed the live game tbh but watching the replay and highlights they literally blow it on the beginning of the game but Heat catch-up and that was the thriling one, if Jimmy didn't take that three, take a timeout, or instead go head onto the paint, that would have even tied the game or make a winning.

Butler and Adebayo are the ones lifting them up but that was a crucial mistake I guess for Jimmy, they have plenty of time or they at least have maximize that tone last timeout. Coaching staff would be at fault once again I guess, they should've look at it. Anyways, it's over, better luck again for them the next time.

They almost wasted their opportunity, Smart made a lot of attempts in the 3 point line but it did not sink in, it seemed like they allow him to shoot. Unfortunately their rally is not enough because they still fall short in the end, Butler was the best player but he was also partly to be blame because of his last shot that did not went it.
1109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA Finals 2022 - Warriors vs Celtics. on: May 30, 2022, 02:39:35 PM
So let's discuss guys, what team do you think will win and why?
I honestly don't argue for both teams Golden State Warriors vs. The Boston Celtics, indeed both teams have tried hard to show themselves the best on the basketball court.

Because of the polls and at the same time the NBA finals, of course there must be one team, the choice of which according to each user's beliefs, some predictions rate the Warriors a 65% chance, while the Celtics 45%, of course predictions can change at any time.

From some of my visions, even though the Warriors here have more fans, for this NBA final, but I will defend the Celtics final team.

Good luck mate, good to know there are some fans who believe that the Celtics could beat the Warriors. Well,  fans knows what team to defend because the Warriors have been here before and they were successful most of the time in the NBA Finals, now that they are back, they might take the opportunity to win that trophy again.
1110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Eastern Conference Finals (Heat vs Celtics) on: May 29, 2022, 01:15:50 PM
This is the last game for both of them on this semis and it's going to force each of them at their best.

It's the conference finals, yes, they will give their best as no more excuses for this game. Hopefully the Celtics will not complain more to the refs like they did in game 6 because it will only loss their focus on the game, a team with great focus and teamwork should win.

I agree with that, the moment Celtics start to get frustrated because the call is not in their favor, that would only make them lose their focus. Actually, that game 6 was close, there were instances in the 4th quarter when they took the lead, however, it's the Heat's composure that make them come back and beat the Celtics.

The same story, there's still no one who could stop Butler, while the heat had a brilliant strategy of doubling Tatum or Brown whenever they got the ball.
1111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your NBA Champion this season? on: May 29, 2022, 12:36:48 PM
I believe the Warriors are the favorite to be the champions!
With their performance during the playoffs, it is clear that GSW is back to the way it was before!

What is your opinion with this possible GSW finals victory?

Maybe 4-2? 4-1?

I would not think of that kind of score in the FInals given that the NBA now is very much unpredictable. Warriors are good, but they are not really that dominant, I mean there are games that they allowed their opponent to dominate them, and if you still remember, they loss by a huge margin in one game against the Memphis.

If the Warriors will face the Heat,  I'm confident with the Warriors to have that kind of series score, but if they will face the Celtics, I don't know.

It's too early to discuss that, let's just enjoy the game tomorrow so we will not speculate anymore on what team the Warriors will face in the NBA Finals. We will be witnessing a great game 7 by the Heat and Celtics, so let's make sure we will be watching that game tomorrow and we can talk about the Finals after the game.
1112  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin drops to $8k on: May 28, 2022, 12:19:09 PM
Lets assume Guggenheim's Minerd speculation on bitcoin having an ultimate bottom of $8k if it hits $30k referencing the "[U.S. Federal Reserve] being restrictive.”, Currently bitcoin price is below $28k and from the look of things this speculation might and might not be accurate but what if bitcoin price falls to this very dip.

I am asking what will you sell to buy more bitcoin if this speculation ever happens or will you choose to  sell off all your bitcoin due to FUD.

No, because my bitcoin is ready for a long-term hold, if we think bitcoin will drop and we intend to sell, we should have done it when the price was still higher. Selling at $8k is a bad idea when knowing bitcoin ATH was above $60k, it doesn't make sense at all IMO.
1113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So my portfolio is down %70...too late to pull back now I guess on: May 28, 2022, 11:49:32 AM
This downtrend has been detrimental to my health (mental health). Exactly %70 just now. No lunch money type of money either.

Have we ever experienced this kind of downtrend before?? What's the latest on how long this might last, or if it's even going to recover.

Yes, I have experienced that before, when I dump because I panic, I just regret it later. You know, if you are into long term holding, you should keep your faith in the coins you are holding as what we are seeing now is normal, we are in a bear market, of course, the price will go down, but once the market will turn bullish, things will improve and it will make you profitable.

Bitcoin will reach a new ATH in the next bull run, believe that.
1114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 28, 2022, 06:44:02 AM
Boston Celtics -8.5

This team can surely cover that spread. Miami Heat will have no answer once the Celtics began their continuous shooting streak. With the crowd cheering for the Celtics, the Heat will begin to distract as they are facing the elimination for the first time. They are more pressured to win and that might affect their status and momentum.

Better luck next time Miami Heat. The team did their best.

Heat said "NOT TODAY!".. nope man, they failed to cover and even lose the game. Butler had another great performance, he was so consistent from the start to finish and the Heat were able to even the series. So now, let's welcome to the game 7 of Eastern conference Finals, GL to the team we are cheering.

Yeah, they are a tough team, when we think the series is already over after the Heat's bad performance in game 5, now it looks like they are in the position to celebrate because they are playing at home in game 7. Personally, I still feel that it's very unpredictable, but a home team always has the edge in the close-out game.
1115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your NBA Champion this season? on: May 28, 2022, 06:29:21 AM
I still think Warriors will dominate in the finals no matter who the opponent is.

I do believe that as well, that's why I'm so happy when they advance in the NBA Finals because I booked an 8.15 odds for them to win before.

1116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Western Conference Finals (Warriors vs Mavericks) on: May 26, 2022, 11:20:56 AM
Game 5 is going to be exciting to watch for the Warriors, not sure if everyone is betting on the Warriors, but I would not hesitate putting my bet on the Warriors knowing they are extremely good at home, and this is a revenge of their game 4 lose to the Mavs.
We will know tomorrow if Warriors will end the series, as for the betting line, Warriors are currently -7 now, it's not that high considering the 1st and 2nd game, it's the Warriors who dominate the game, and they cover the spread on that 2 games.
If we follow the trend, then we should not overthink, that -7 is already a gift for the Warriors bettors.
This is gambling, we have to take risk based on what we believe, and personally, Warriors are my bet to  win in the NBA Finals, so I'm also betting on them for this possible last game.

So maybe bookies value the win of the Mavs in game 4 big time, so they are only +7 now.
We don't know, they make the odds or line based on the public perception.
1117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Eastern Conference Finals (Heat vs Celtics) on: May 26, 2022, 10:55:02 AM
In game 4, this round is exaggerated. Injuries from the description maybe there haven't been any results, both the Celtics and heat, who got more injured. But the difference in points in Game 5 and injuries are minimized. I hope the road in Game 6 can be more conducive. If it's hot it will be lower of course celtich has good enthusiasm. and maybe he will take advantage of that fight in the future
The difference in points in round 5 makes predictions almost slim. But this year's NBA Finals will be exciting
I think this series is going to end in game 6, Heat has no answer on the Celtics, their main scorer Jimmy Butler has been struggling in the last 2 games already. In game 5, he only score 13 points from a very poor shooting with 4-18, if Butler continues to struggle, then Celtics will go to the NBA Finals.

1118  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Western Conference Finals (Warriors vs Mavericks) on: May 25, 2022, 11:17:36 AM
I'm expecting that Dallas Mavericks at least will have underdog odds this Game 4. I think this is the first time I saw a team behind 0-3 that still listed as a slight favorite to win the game. Bookies might think that Mavericks can still able to pull this one even though it's clear from the previous 3 games that Mavericks can't handle the much more dominant Warriors.
Mavericks won and lucky to those who took the risk on betting with them.
Warriors are off in game 4, some says they are affected by the current incidents in Texas but I think its ok to give credit sometimes to Mavericks since they did their best today and the result is really good for them. Though I doubt about them winning, but at least they show a good match. Game 5 is the home court advantage of Warriors, they should finish this already.

The Mavs performed well on this game, and I don't think it's just lucky of them that they pulled through. However the next game I don't think they will be having enough fuel in the tank left to go against the Warriors on their home court. We need some kind of miracle from Luka and the gang to make this series extend even further and for us to watch for more games before the series finale. I'm betting something for the Mavericks for me to have a reason to root for them, but I don't see this going any further than game 5.

They don't even win a close game in chase center, so I think the Warriors will have a blowout win in game 5.

Warriors cannot lose that game, otherwise, they'll have the pressure as the game could reach game 7. And yes, it's a miracle, as the Mavericks need to win 3 straight games in order for them to beat the Warriors, and since it has not happened in the history of the NBA, I would not believe they'll achieve that big success.

So yeah, Warriors it is. GAME 5, no more games.

I am looking forward to a 2-2 standing after this fourth game. I'm sure the Celtics will get back on Miami. This early, Jason Tatum is already feeling hot and pumped up and will definitely add a lot more of scoring power to the Celtics. With 20 points just in the second quarter and the team leading so far by 25 points, this is going to be an exciting eastern conference finals. They only need to maintain a comfortable lead and continue to deny Miami of offensive rebounds.

Yes, it's a different Jayson Tatum we are witnessing this game, although he is nursing that shoulder, he still play and provided good offense to the team right now. So it's going to be a very difficult task for the Heat to even make the score close or cut the lead to manageable less than double digit because of the way the Celtics are shooting in this game.

Heat has to come back from a heavy deficit in order to win the game, and I don't think they'll be able to do it because they are in the same situation in game 2 and they were not able to come back, how much more now that they are on the road.

Williams III is also back in the lineup, and he is doing a great job so far as he was able to limit Adebayo with 3 points only which was the Heat's top score in game 3. This series is getting exciting, I'd like to count this already for the Celtics and will be a tied series going back to Miami.
