1101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [DeM] Deutsche eMark - DEM - cryptocoin SHA256 POS/POW on: July 20, 2017, 04:30:09 PM
Dont feed Trolls , please...

OK, I'll type really slow so you can read this better...

  • A double double-spend = spending the same DEM 3 times*.
  • The amount of hashrate required to perform a double double-spend only costs ~$40USD to rent.
  • If 3 retailers ever accept DEM for things I want, I can, and will, purchase $3,000USD worth of merchandise for only $1,000USD**

**(actually ~$1,040USD, but I'm trying not to confuse you)
*this has happened, and delusional denial doesn't change that

Indeed, that's why I have a footprint in at least a little bit of most everything.  Wink

The only thing I'm married to is my wife, the rest is all lead by speculation and earnings.  Cool

Given that I am one of the few that understand why you'll not get what you want, it doesn't make sense that you delusionally want it and want not to hear from me. But, don't allow me to disrupt your delusions....

Edit: In fact, I secretly hope you get your wish and eMark is accepted by retailers for something useful; I'm all for spending $40USD on a mining rental and getting $3,000USD worth of merchandise for $1,000USD  Cool

Deutsche Emark should be independent....no matter what happend with bitcoin after 1.8.
Since eMark cannot stand on it's own as a currency (due to orphan and double-spend issues), that isn't going to happen without some actual development work.  Undecided

... (slush found suprisingly high amount of blocks in the last couple of days)
I'm not sure that 280+PH having the effective rate of 138PH is "suprisingly high"; more like surprisingly low. Undecided

You describe Core's plan B actually, when Segwit is not supported by enough miners. Then there WILL be a permanent POW change, so you will not be able to mine bitcoins, only the new ABC fork.
The only good thing about the ABC code is that they

Maybe switch to MRR at least you can control renting and with who. Service is great.
Far too many MMR "miners" are NH resellers; do so with caution.
1119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Barry Silbert segwit2x agreement with >80% miner support. on: July 19, 2017, 08:10:10 PM
You see that if the forked of coin will be worth something (if only a few $), coinbase users have no way of getting these coins and coinbase basically steals them from their users.
Hence the reason we all keep telling folks to put their coins where they (the users) have control of the private keys.  Wink

Lower difficulty puts more stress on fast ASIC miners since the miner has to process an excessive number of shares in a short period of time. If the miner would be working only on a few shares with higher difficulty the efficiency of the miner would be higher.
@ck
I was under the impression that ASICs are always processing 1diff shares and all that diff setting means is "Don't send any result under this value to the server". Have I been wrong about that all of this time?  Or are they just over-simplifying and calling "processing" the act of sending to the server? Undecided
