1101  Economy / Exchanges / Re: etoro or alternative exchange on: October 23, 2017, 06:52:35 AM
i wondered if i am better off buying actual bitcoins to own rather than using etoro, where you don't actually own any coins.

I thought about withdrawing all my money and began the process of buying again through Kraken , but they are not accepting deposits from the UK . So can anyone offer some advice please?

Sorry but you are better off owning real BTC than using Etoro.

1. You can gain more coins to sell from two upcoming hard forks, BTG and Segwit2x.
2. You have outright control over them as long as you have your private keys.

To buy BTC, try looking for sellers in your area in localbitcoins.com.
1102  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New 'Bitcoin Fees' App to easily see how current fee settings are performing! on: October 23, 2017, 06:42:16 AM
The app looks good. But how would you rate it with blockchain.info's fee recommendations? Although I know from experience that it will be better than Electrum's recommended fees. It always favors the users to pay higher fees, making it inefficient at times.

Thanks for making the app. Good luck.
1103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.3 Fork block 92000 on: October 23, 2017, 02:43:48 AM
I believe in the possibilities of PoC and continue digging BURST.
I believe it will enter TOP 100 again with CoinMarketCap.

The 100th coin in coinmarketcap.com is a project called Dentacoin with a market value of $40,974,235. Its very possible that Burst can go over that from my perspective. Some of the coins in there dont justify their market value considering that Burst has been around longer and has one of the most unique features in PoC.

Burst is very undervalued today, I dont know why no one can see that.
1104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Burst weekly report! The future is bright! on: October 23, 2017, 02:33:28 AM
Week 8 updates are out but theres not much significant releases for this week. Thats quite disappointing because I was expecting more. But be assured that the PoCC is hard at work to bring us the best Proof of Capacity coin in the world.

Weekly Burst Report #8 – 10/22/2017

  • BurstNation is currently working on the implementation of websockets for the core wallets, so that they don’t rely on direct http requests.
  • BurstNation released a new asset tool for asset issuers. It is meant to be a better asset exchange application than directly using the desktop Wallet. You can download it on GitHub.
  • BurstNation officials informed me that 3 new pool softwares are currently under development.
  • Although The PoC Consortium did not make any significant new release this week, its developers are extremely busy. “All I can say at the moment, is that the dedication of the PoCC members to bring Burst forward is unbowed and after more than two months of Burst development we’re not only more efficient at what we do for Burst, but also start to address more challenging tasks. Not all of this work may be visible immediately and quite some of it also takes longer than a week before we can present it”, declared Rico666 today.

this coin has been pumped a couple times it seems. seems like an ideal target for a pump, low vol , low cap but on poloniex. Hopefully the next one comes sooner then later and is the biggest one yet.

I hope so. Would be great if they can hit that 1000 sats they came close to last time Smiley

That was Rico's original price forecast for December and has also contemplated that it could also go as high as BTC.000025. He was maybe anticipating BTC going down under $4000 instead of going up to $6000.

So his analysis might have something more to do with what BTC will do, not what worth Burst has under the guidance of the PoCC.
1106  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin Only Exclusive Items on: October 21, 2017, 01:34:14 AM

Could support for ripple, eth, bcc, doge, ltc, dash and other alts be a good foundation upon which to build a small business?

 Huh

From my perspective, no. But theres a case to argue for some of the altcoins you posted because they are reaching the same critical mass as BTC did in its early years.

I am a Burst supporter myself but its accepted only in Bitlser. At least it has that.

1107  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex / Locking up my money and Isn't answering me on: October 21, 2017, 01:22:39 AM
13 days? I had mine verified in two days. Is your account new, and do you have multiple accounts with them? Because if you do, it would really help you a lot if you lay everything straight and tell them about your other accounts.

1108  Economy / Exchanges / Re: The Bittrex verification experience on: October 21, 2017, 01:18:11 AM
My account with Bittrex is now enhanced verified. It took me only two days of waiting and it helps if you are polite in writing your support emails from my perspective. It might have been also verified in 20 minutes if their net verifier was functioning well.

All the comments made about Bittex being suspicious and a scam are usually from frustrated people who cant wait. My advice is to be patient and be sure your documents are clear for them to see.
1109  Economy / Exchanges / Re: The Bittrex verification experience on: October 20, 2017, 02:50:43 AM
Ok now it has happened to my account. Bittrex asked for basic verification and then suggested that I go under the enhanced verification process. Happily I did to get it done. Then like some of you, I'm having the same problem. Something went wrong with processing of documents and the site told me to submit them again, but with no way to resubmit them.

I already emailed support. I expect its going to be long wait but I will post any progress in my experience so if it happens again to someone else, this thread will hopefully be helpful to them.

I opened a support ticket with Bittrex. They transitioned my account to Enhanced within 48 hours. Just check your account "Summary Tab" 48 hours after you open a support ticket. Make sure you upload the files with the ticket to reduce follow-up. You Should be good.

https://support.bittrex.com/

Thats a good idea, but sadly I missed that opportunity.

But the good news is Bittrex replied within 24 hours and has asked me to try again. I dont think they know the situation about the resubmit option not being available.

What I did was I told them I did everything I could and I have requested for a manual verification process. It could take another 24 hours or more for them to reply.
1110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency Poker System ICO on: October 19, 2017, 03:15:42 AM
Hello, yes will be descentralized servers

How are you going to achieve that with your puny budget of BTC5 starting capital? Other groups who have been in crypto longer than you have failed. For apps like poker, they are better and more efficient if they are centralized, from my perspective.

If you want to build this, its better if you show and upload your proof of concept code first before you come here and ask for money.
1111  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Fraud Alert - Bitcoin Seoul Asian Whale Club - @OTC_Bitcoin on: October 19, 2017, 02:56:49 AM
Posting this to the local Korean forum could be helpful. Maybe one of them would be smart enough to report this person to the proper authorities of their country.

Thanks for the warning.

1113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Burstcoin [BURST] Price Speculation on: October 18, 2017, 03:47:45 AM
Rico, the price looks good to buy now with the new found stability at the bottom, and the sellers may have run out of coins to dump. Would you advice investors to start buying now or will we see more selling pressure coming?

All the development is very encouraging from my perspective, I hope some big investors start seeing it.

1114  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Which wallet for multisignature addresses? on: October 18, 2017, 03:29:14 AM
Hi ICOs (funny username Smiley)
I would recommend Armoury (desktop wallet) or CarbonWallet (web wallet).
They are strong services as far as I know so you should be happy with them.

Newbs, dont use CarbonWallet. Use the wallets in felicita's list instead. They are more trustworthy and are widely used by the community. For a webwallet that started on 2013, CarbonWallet is not really that popular and that entails it may not be a really good service.

For more concerns about it go in this thread.
1115  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex problem with ID verification on: October 18, 2017, 03:22:17 AM
Theres no choice but to contact support and wait for their reply. But it will be a long wait. I can imagine that they are ramped up with so much support tickets with complaints like yours.

This makes me doubt on the real situation with Bittrex. They are either being attacked with multiple account creation and price manipulation using those accounts, or the money laundering from BTCe has transferred there.

The complaints in the forum can come from sock puppets trying to post the same problem over and over.
1116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Accidentaly sent LTC to online BTC wallet on: October 18, 2017, 03:12:12 AM
Only difference should be the address prefix, Bitcoin being a 1 and Litecoin a L.
This is caused by adding 30 instead of 00 in the front of the ripemd-160 hash, after base-58 encode you should get the same address but with an "L" on front. I have never done this conversion before but it should be possible to reverse.
Not for P2SH addresses, those are starting with 3 for both BTC and LTC.
As this was a common source of confusion, LTC quickly settled to use "M" prefix addresses (the previous "3"-prefix addresses are still valid, however).

(In this case, 378yFsGsovDUM84QpiuaFPDXx7RYnYDbWD becomes MDM7Zkgqm34u9dLJvbtv52TwGp1zrmXdTW)

But why do some services keep issuing LTC addresses starting with a 3, and why did LTC start issuing the same P2SH address format in the first place?

Subtle intrusions are sometimes not so subtle.
1117  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin = dotcom bubble? on: October 18, 2017, 03:03:50 AM
BTC cannot be compared to the dotcom bubble, the tulip mania or any bubble that ever happened in history. BTC is a special case from my perspective because it really can change and disrupt modern finance. One good comparison for BTC is the P2P music sharing app Napster. It started to revolutionize file sharing in the same way BTC will revolutionize trade.

It doesn't need to offer or promise any services for it's value to boost. It is the demand of the coin itself that changes its value.

What do you mean? Are you saying that BTC is indeed a bubble? If all it has is the demand and depends on it to make it more valuable then its nothing but a bubble.

But you forgot BTC's utility as a store of value and as a currency.

1118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the top leading nations from which citizens invest the most in ICOs? on: October 17, 2017, 03:43:50 AM
Another matter to consider is not just the size of its ICO investor population but how educated are they about ICOs? The US may be the biggest but they are among the most educated investors who are more reluctant to put money in without any research. I see China as the second biggest market, but with ICO participants who love to put money in and take the risks.

Between the two China is a better target market to raise money if the PBOC didnt ban ICOs.

1120  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bittrex Support - or total lack of on: October 17, 2017, 03:16:05 AM
Thats odd. Maybe they are trying to investigate some of the transactions that took place going in the exchange. This could be connected to some money launderers that maybe has started using Bittrex after the closure of BTCe.

Its a wild guess but I dont see Bittrex locking that many accounts for no good reason.
