1101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Community research: To drink or to buy coins? on: July 28, 2023, 06:57:44 PM
I don't drink very much these days, not alcohol anyhow.  To me it just makes me tired and I lost bodily functions which unless I'm out partying, I don't like that feeling.  I prefer to smoke weed over drinking any day of the week.  It doesn't make me tired or hungry like it does to some (plus I manage it with CBD tinctures).

But, I have a certain amount of my paycheck that is dedicated to both weed and btc purchases per month.  Keep it as simple as that.  I don't go outside that much.
1102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling experience using loan money on: July 28, 2023, 06:55:00 PM
The best policy is just don't do it.  If you are that desperate for money to gamble, then you're doing something you shouldn't be doing, it's really that plain and simple.  This is where people become degons and wreck their lives.  I know of a forum member who borrowed funds from other friends on the forum, a lot of funds, and ended up losing a massive amount on a coin he was "so sure would moon" that he ended up just "running away" and screwing over his friends.

Just don't do it.
1103  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: July 28, 2023, 06:48:45 PM
I got your email Hueristic, and of course you know I'm in.

When it comes to Yahoo rankings, typically I hate when my team has a good score. Good scores come from people who draft the next man up, which the system has ranked as the best player at that time, and so it adds the most points towards ranking the drafts.  That's why I hate when I get a good grade.  It means I haven't reached around enough for the outlier players. ( Edit: I just realized Wheelz essentially said the same thing lol)

Looking forward to the season ya'll..next Thursday is the first preseason game!

Of course he doesn’t. Another boring account.

What time is the webinar?

July 28th at 6pm Pacific

I’ve been told he’s sending meeting links out now.

1105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if salaries were paid in BTC on: July 27, 2023, 06:52:04 PM
It entirely depends on what country we are talking about.  Some countries are of course much more conservative than others and wouldn’t even think of allowing this but others will be more open to it. For instance China wouldn’t even consider it, but I believe nations such as the United States would eventually be open to it. In fact I don’t believe there’s any laws against it right now?
1106  Economy / Economics / Re: Food security in the world has been shaken by Russia's actions on: July 27, 2023, 06:48:41 PM
This is a well written and informative write up, I appreciate that.  The sad thing is I know many, and I believe the majority of Russians want absolutely nothing to do with this war. Putin is an evil dictator, plain and simple.  It’s just too bad other nations like China and N Korea would back them up like they are.

Im not saying my country of the United States isn’t corrupt, because we are, but not in this type of fashion. Why can’t we just end war..imagine all the good that could come economically to nations when they spend money on the economy and not fighter jets and tanks. SMH
1107  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: July 27, 2023, 06:40:15 PM
Your buddy has no clue what he’s talking about. I know that there’s more people who gamble whom DONT have much money or sufficient enough money to smartly be able to spend money gambling, but rich people gamble often too. Both “sides” do plenty of gambling.

Now what I see a lot of is poor people buying lotto tickets as well as playing the power ball or state/countries lotto. Typically these people are desperate and uneducated and don’t realize that it would be much more beneficial to put those dollars, even if a few into an investment of some sort (even shitcoins would be a better investment).
1108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling should be play with care on: July 27, 2023, 06:36:42 PM
Having a bit of a difficult time understanding exactly what you’re trying to say here due to your English, but I think I’ve got the overall gist of what you’re trying to get across.

There are statistics that can be found out there about what percentage of gamblers win vs lose and they have these for all sorts of different games and sports betting. But you’re right, only gamble what you can afford to lose.
1109  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Titan Mint Coins- Serious Issue- Titan Mint Bitcoin Coins ***NEW UPDATES*** on: July 27, 2023, 06:32:57 PM
How does someone verify the contents of their physical item now with no website to do so? The TitanBTC physical coins did not contain their "1st bits" like Casascius.
No other PK owners care about this?  Huh

I don't.
Some guys there buy stuff not based on some risk management but on a crypto frenzy / FOMO / intuition, trusting ppl based on ....well nothing.
This brilliant mismanagement lead sometime to utter failure.
I do not complain when risk materialized. Why should you?

Leasson learn the hard way i suppose : do not trust anybody, think before acting. In simple word : be adult

Lol that doesn’t make it okay, as if you should just be fine with it and move on.  I mean do you even own any? You don’t have any forum trust ratings, have you ever owned any coins that ended up being scams. No offense but this is the kind of thinking that allows people to get away with this kind of shit.

One of the best hologram peels I’ve seen. Did a fine job if it was you who peeled it.
1111  Economy / Economics / Re: How to increase profit in business on: July 26, 2023, 06:24:16 PM
From my experience as a business person, in buying and selling, I have discovered some helpful tips on how to increase profit. I an happy to share some in this forum.
Customer relation, a business person must understand that customer is king and should be treated like a royalty. Even it they are buying the least thing in your shop. When they leave your shop delighted, be assured that they will always come back to patronise you. And they will even market your products to their friends. Meaning more patronage for your business which will be increasing your profit.
Your business should have at least one season when you give out rewards and discounts to customers when they buy your products. This will increase your sales geometrically and when you remove the cost of the reward and discounts, you will still have increased profit.
Stock different brands of the products that you sell. Customers will prefer to enter a shop where they will see different varieties of what they need. More customers will enter and will even be tempted to buy more than they planned for. More customers equals more profit.

Please feel free to drop your own ideas on how to increase profit in businesses.

I graduated college with a degree in Business Management, so this topic is right up my alley.  Now I agree with some of these things, and think you've got some solid suggestions here, but what's sort of missing is the fact that not all of these suggestions are good suggestions for every type of business. It really entirely depends on what type of business is being ran, the current location and it's closest competition etc etc.
1112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SCAM or not ? on: July 26, 2023, 06:20:07 PM
SMH. Now the mean comments here are completely unnecessary. I am also however never ceased to be amazed at the lack of homework people do before making such investments.  This is something you should have been asking before ever getting involved in it.  Now I know you know this, but it's a valuable lesson hopefully learned.

As a financial advisor spotting scams is a big part of what I do for a living, and there's no question at all that this is one.
1113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Major League Soccer (MLS) 2021 on: July 26, 2023, 06:17:21 PM
I don't follow soccer a whole lot, but I have started to become more interested in it over the years.  However now after seeing Messi sign with an MLS team, I'm a lot more excited to start getting in to MLS soccer.  I know this is somewhat common for superstar Euro players to come to the US in their final years to get a massive contract, but I wonder if more and more players will start to give the MLS a shot now that the league seemingly is becoming a bit more competitive.
1114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pros and Cons of Crypto vs. Traditional Gambling on: July 26, 2023, 06:10:51 PM
When I first starting betting sports, I had a good buddy who I grew up with, having gone to both high school and college with, who decided to become a bookie.  So I used him to do my sports betting for a two-three years or so, then he stopped.  So for a while I wasn't placing any sports bets online as you really didn't have any options that weren't offshore casinos that would send shady looking checks from some tropical island bank.  Crytpo completely changed that game.  Now being able to deposit and withdraw via bitcoin, rather than waiting weeks or months to receive some shady looking check, now it's typically a 1-2 payout.
1115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 5 Bitcoins to never gamble again. Will you take it? on: July 26, 2023, 06:07:42 PM
Absolutely.  Me personally, while I love to gamble, whether that's at a physical location or online, I don't gamble that much.  I've still yet to have ever gone to Las Vegas, and don't go to St Louis very often (closest place to me with legitimate casinos) and I most just sports bet, but I don't bet very high amounts.  If someone offered me what's not around $150,000 worth of bitcoin, I'm hoping all over that offer.
1116  Other / Off-topic / Re: YouTube deleting comments, any idea why? on: July 26, 2023, 06:02:35 AM
This is from a private Reddit chat. It’s infuriating that bitcointalk is banned from being mentioned/linked on these massive platforms. Censorship bullshit. Just a rant. I wish there was a way around it.

1117  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INTEREST CHECK] Alpen Coin "Scam Coin" on: July 26, 2023, 02:56:36 AM

Looks really cool. I sent bigtimespaghetti a photo of the coin. I know he was honored to have this coin made.

@FP530
Thanks for sharing, very helpful and informative!

The Titan Mint website should have some sort of notification and or link to an information page, perhaps a video file of some sort of the webinar explaining what’s going on and how to redeem.
1119  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Titan Mint Coins- Serious Issue- Titan Mint Bitcoin Coins ***NEW UPDATES*** on: July 26, 2023, 12:23:41 AM
I'm hosting a webinar this coming week to update coin owners on the topic of redemption and answer questions.  The event is scheduled for July 28th at 6pm Pacific time (GMT -7).

Please fill your desired email address and one of your coin IDs here to receive the invitation link:

http://www.titanmint.com/webinar/

You should get an email after filling in that form confirming that you're on the webinar invite list.  The actual link for the webinar will go out on Thursday of this coming week, along with a reminder.

Let me know if you have any questions.  FYI, I need to avoid using the word "bitcoin" in the emails related to the webinar because all email delivery services now block or ban anything related to crypto currency so if you see something saying "Titan Coin" instead of Titan Bitcoin that's why.

If you've already gotten an email titled "IMPORTANT Titan Coin - Redemption Process Webinar Invitation" then you're already on the invite list and don't need to fill in this form.

Tim, I’m glad to see you’re hosting these and hopefully making everyone whole who needs to be.

That said, can you address how this will all work going forward for those with 2FA coins who have absolutely no idea about this upcoming webinar.  Will the webinar be made available afterward?

Btw I’ve never heard of any mail service blocking emails for using the word bitcoin. Between yahoo, hotmail and gmail..they all allow it.
