11001  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everyone has heard of bitcoin! (actually.. most still haven't) on: April 02, 2015, 02:42:26 PM
So many people that don't know Bitcoin means that there is a lot potential growth that we can generate.

And some have heard about Bitcoin, but via the media. Which gives them the impression that Bitcoin is only used for illegal transactions.

Just take the time to explain them how useful it is and what the real purpose of Bitcoin is. I'm sure most of them will think different about Bitcoin.

11002  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-04-01] Nasdaq: The Price of Bitcoin Is About to Get a Little Government He on: April 02, 2015, 02:31:29 PM
Some countries just don't know what to do beside banning it, and others are just not interested.

I find it very interesting to see how far they can stretch this slow "Bitcoin adoption" by the government.

I'm only not sure how much impact this news will have on the price, if any. But it is good news indeed.
11003  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is the chance of Bitcoin being 1000 us dollars in the next year on: April 02, 2015, 02:22:03 PM
Chances are not high. There is a constant pressure on the price due to the instant btc to fiat converting companies such as BitPay.

I would already be happy if we see Bitcoin at $600 level next year. Just over 100% increase is more than decent if you ask me.
11004  Other / Off-topic / Re: General Football Discussion on: April 01, 2015, 12:41:08 PM
My predictions for next round :

Arsenal - Liverpool 2-1
Everton - Southampton 1-1
Leicester - West Ham 2-2
Manchester United - Aston Villa 4-1
Swansea City - Hull City 2-0
West Brom - QPR 1-2
Chelsea - Stoke City 3-0
Burnley - Tottenham 1-3
Sunderland - Newcastle United 0-1
Crystal Palace - Manchester City 1-3

Good predictions but I would have to disagree with the liverpool one as I believe Liverpool are stronger than arsenal at the moment but I think it will be a draw 2-2

From my point of view Arsenal is better, they know how to play football the way it is meant to be played.

But we'll see what happens on match day  Smiley

I don't like people in general.
11006  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you prefer bitcoin, FIAT money or other? on: April 01, 2015, 12:23:50 PM
It's a mix for me. In my country there is barely anything you can do or buy with Bitcoin. From that point I prefer fiat.

For online activities, buying stuff, sending money, receiving money, it is 100% Bitcoin for me. In fact, it is the only option I use online Cheesy
11007  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [03-29-2015] Bitcoin Acceptance By Las Vegas Casinos: One Year Later on: April 01, 2015, 12:15:54 PM
The majority of Bitcoin transactions currently are gambling related, which will stay like this for a long time.

But the main difference between Bitcoin related gambling sites and these casinos are that these casinos will get their coins converted to fiat instantly.

Which will put huge pressure on the price as gambling with Bitcoin is insanely popular. I wish they would also pay out in Bitcoin, but that might be difficult regarding tax regulations.
11008  Economy / Speculation / Re: Predict the price of Bitcoin on 1 April 2015 - win CGB's on: April 01, 2015, 12:03:56 PM
This is pure entertainment. Especially the guys who predicted Bitcoin will go over $2000 which is insane!

Once these guys see how far off their prediction is they might edit their post  Cheesy
11009  Economy / Speculation / Re: Future looking bright. Going back up. on: April 01, 2015, 11:59:50 AM
Now that we've hit the 2 month low. The price will rally back up to 245!

Happy April fools day!
2 months low? We are above 245 already so what are you talking about?

What are you talking about. MtGox charts show me it is below $200 which is bad news.

I think MtGox need to stop with charging fees as it might scare away customers.
11010  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's Be Honest. We Are Waiting for $100/BTC to buy on: March 31, 2015, 08:22:37 PM
Well if bitcoin eventually wind up in that mark then most of us will probably lose the interest on bitcoin, at least I will. But there will always be some hopeful buyer. Smiley

It will be all over the news worldwide if it happens to reach $100 level. Media loves to cover bad news related to Bitcoin.

I would definitely use that opportunity to buy as many as I can. Am I then considered a hopeful buyer? Or a smart buyer  Wink

great move but I feel we need another leg down to reflect a price that merchants will accept and hold their Bitcoins to gather confidence and upward movement ,

instead of dumping them asap

many more would love to be involved but not in an unfinished bear market Grin

The market will stay as it is for many more years. It's currently a whale traders paradise.

Where else is it so easy to legitimately make loads of money in a short time? So I can't really blame them.
11013  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why the upcoming crash will be huge. on: March 31, 2015, 08:03:32 PM
So many people expect a drop I see, but why not make the price insanly high for a change?

There was a thread named "Let's make the Bitcoin price high!" Yeah! Why not? Let's do it!!!  Cheesy
11014  Economy / Speculation / Re: We're falling as of the auction? on: March 31, 2015, 07:56:26 PM
Well a few days after that auctions seems to be as if the coins were auctioned off well below the current market rate at that time. Is it safe to say some of them - if not all- have been brutally dumped? I think so. After this, I battle to see $400 at the end of the year, I suspect some other shit to happen again.

I don't see why not. It's a simple method to make a good bit of money in a very short time.

They are traders and not looking to fund the charity jar with their generosity.

I am not interested in domain trades. Escrow is possible for a minimum order of $10. Below that means you pay first.

11016  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would you convince a newbie to use BTC? on: March 30, 2015, 12:26:57 PM
It depends on what that person needs. If he wants to get paid for small jobs like coding and such then Bitcoin is a great option.

Getting rid of paypal and their charge backs is mostly enough to convince people. Sending money instantly with a near to zero fee is also music in their ears.

He is asking, how would you convince a "newbie" to use bitcoin?  No why bitcoin is better then Paypal (as method of payment ).

OP asks "How would you convince a newbie to use BTC?"

Can't you read? I stated it depends on what that person needs. If I know what he needs and wants I would tell (convice) him to use Bitcoin and tell him why it is better.

Your turn.
11017  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-03-29] CS- Kaspersky Warned Bitcoin Users Blockchain Could Deliver Malware on: March 30, 2015, 12:21:11 PM
Is this something they just found out? You can save practically any kind of file in the blockchain as long as the file size is small enough.

Nothing new here. Blockchain came to life in 2009 and they needed so much time to get this statement to us now in 2015?

11019  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin prices fall $250 --> $240 where next ? $500 ? on: March 29, 2015, 05:47:18 PM
For some reason once Bitcoin nears $300 level something happens or bad news shows up and it falls down to below ~$250 level again.

Is it coincidence, or is a group of traders heavily manipulating the price. But then again, why would they keep Bitcoin down as they had plenty of time to buy in already.

Bitcoin is a free market. We decide the price of Bitcoin. That basically means we don't think Bitcoin is currently worth $300.

the problem is with the "we", right now are the whales that decide the price of bitcoin, they don't keep it down, they aim at fish that buy coins, then they dump hard, hence repeat, this is why you see those crash

That's right and the answer to his question is: no, it's not coincidence! Yes, the price is manipulated by people, who hold thousands of coins and want to have more. If you wanted to liquidate at stable prices you wouldn't dump it all at once, right? If you see a flat line and then suddenly somebody dumps 2000 coins at once you should know what's going on Wink

It's no secret that whales are manipulating the price. Most people know that by now.

With we decide the price I meant that no matter how much whales manipulate the price, we in fact still decide whether we buy or sell.

Even whales after some time will stop keeping the price high if there is no one buying. Because we think the price is too high to buy.

Same with when they keep the price low, if no one is selling, why should they keep the price low. Because we think the price is too low to sell.
11020  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Low priority transaction confirmation time calculation. on: March 29, 2015, 05:28:39 PM
If we are talking about blockchain.info then the confirmation time are just guesses which in fact as you said sometimes are misleading. There is no really good formula to calculate the confirmation time but if you pay 0.0001 per 1KB you are good and the tx will get included in the next block(most of the time).

Yes. I'm talking about blockchain.info. So it is all about the fee, no mather how low the actual transaction priority is. Thanks for confirming.
