11021  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Do you think mining will be profitable again ? on: April 16, 2015, 12:09:31 PM
Well those who believe in Bitcoin may even mine at a loss, however the majority will simply back out Sad

Majority would stop mining I agree with this.   it would take a lot to make the big farms unprofitable.

I would guess I would always run a miner just as I love bitcoin.  But I would not be able to maintain a big hash rate.
11022  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Got my ROI some days ago... on: April 16, 2015, 12:06:52 PM
i will reach my roi in maybe 6,5 months..
im mining over genesis-mining.. I hope this will be rentable in the future.

6.5 months is a very long way, everything could happen, they could run away any day with your money, and now it's more risky because the btc price is tanking, so the chance of those companies failing is very high

Anyplace that uses "Lifetime Bitcoin contract" makes it where I would not pick them.   They know at one time fees will be greater then mining.   There is no way to have lifetime mining contract.
11023  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Hillary Clinton Trustworthy? on: April 16, 2015, 08:44:01 AM
Well there are no untrustworthy emails sent on her government email address Smiley.  Then again no emails were sent there.

On the other side thinking of computer security.  Each person having their own email server does make it hard to compromise everyone at once.  So she did add some security by doing it.
11024  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How I can earn from the Signature campaign? on: April 16, 2015, 08:21:18 AM
now that i think about it, how 777coin(and others newbies campaign) deal with multi account? they are in a bad position like all the other newbies campagin, because making newbie account it's basically a joke

one could made 10-20 newbie account in a sec(you don't need to rank up) and start spamming with the 777coin sig...i think there are already member that are doing this

I think how they deal with it is paying very low prices. They have done a good job cornering most beginner signatures.   I would guess a lot of theirs are multi-account.

But also forum moderates (it might take staff level) can look at IP I cannot remember.  Assuming they don't use a diffferent IP for each account low quality post, and IP chances are forum staff can catch some.
11025  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: REAL ways to make bitcoins without spending money on: April 16, 2015, 08:17:02 AM
Faucet is bad way to earn bitcoin, it just waste your time
It even worse than join signature campaign as newbie

You also can rent/sell your avatar & personal message space too

I jumped on boat and sold avatar.  All went smooth.  The neat thing is I sold part so can still have what i want on 3/4th of it.  Good for both parties.

And I agree faucets are just horrible a few cents a hour/day.  I stick with only one who wins on faucets is owner's/referrals. This beginner forum has more and more faucet rotators a few times a week trying to get people to do faucets on their site.
11026  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Sfards: SF3301 Specifications Revealed [Updated 14/4/15] on: April 16, 2015, 08:12:23 AM
They stated April for functioning miners right?
Did I misunderstand?

I hope they haven't been mining with full blown hardware in a 250,000 square foot facility for the past two weeks and are telling us they have chips ready for others ala bitstain style

I was discussing this with a good guy the other day. It was obvious to both of us our equipment was mined with for a considerable time. He has new S5s, with new being the chosen word, but not the actual product. I read the BS about the sand coming from an open window or windows in the test area, but I also have seen more than enough pictures and heard from so many others about the dirt inside their equipment. My bud asked me if I wouldn't do the same thing. I said no, I would never be able to sleep at night. I would sell them as used for X amount of days. I believe people would still buy them at the same price. Look at how many people are still buying them. You can be honest, make the same amount of money or more, and feel great about your choices. Besides, I seriously doubt they need to sell the miners with the amounts they have already made from mining.

Sfards, take a lesson from what has been done to this community and don't perform unnecessary testing with the miners. I hope you have a product close to shipping. I want to support another company who has class. I hope the photo on the website is not a start of bad things to come. That single act does not mean as much in my opinion if you mirror the SPtech actions and reputation, but if there are a trail of tears behind it, then it speaks volumes. Only time will tell.

Saying all of that, when do you *think* we will see a functioning product, and will you hold true to the April date or will it be longer?
I think those are fair questions you could answer without giving too much away.

Are you planning batches?
IS there a way to be on some form of list for orders when they begin to ship?
If you have review units available I will purchase one from you, or from one of the reviewers.
I am a sucker for toys, and with the SPtech recommendation for this company I am ready to throw some cash at them.

I wish I had taken pictures of the pair of SP-20s I got near the end of December.  Dirty, dull, scratched finish.  Visible dust accumulated in the USB ports and SD card slot.

It's the worst kept dirty little secret of ASIC manufacturers.  We all know they do it.  They all know we know they do it.  SPtech is just as bad as Bitmain here.

Don't really blame them though.  It would be a pretty lousy business plan to manufacture money printing machines, then let them sit in a box NOT printing money for months while you wait for a customer to buy them from you.  I just wish ASIC manufacturers would be more honest about it.

For what it's worth my SP-20's always came clean.  I have had not had any issue there.

I don't think it's a dirty secret.  Most companies do a burn in test before selling.  If you buy it soon after made it's a small burn in.  With them made in batches you really cannot set a miner in a box and do nothing, as sold or part of inventory it's going to lose value slowly.

So I think it makes perfect sense that companies mine with miners not sold right after made.  If not cost's would just be higher for us the consumer.  This is my personal opinion, but as long as they come with a warranty I'm happy weather it was mined with a week or a month.

A new way is to sell avatar space.  I only did partial to leave some of it for my own picking.   I predict this becomes more popular.

OS has nothing stopping it from configuring S3.  Are you able to access miner?

Hy guys,

did you check out hashcoins.com with their Uranus Miner?
Take a look here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=417623.0
I do not know how this rivals Bitmain, but we already, if you believe buyers, have these chips with the efficiency running.

This Uranus miner has been talked about many times.  Most likely a scam.  They still have not shown a zeus miner which  is no where near as efficient.

Okidoki, so you think this guy https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=417623.msg10996618#msg10996618 is a scammer "purchased" by hashcoins.com  Huh Shocked

I would say Maverick has a good point this is a S6 speculation thread.   The Uraus miner has nothing to do with thread and goes off topic.  Is that guy  telling the truth? I have no idea.  He didnt provide a transaction ID, he went with bank transfer he say's.  I think there is a good chance he is tied in with company yes.  And if not I feel sorry as he most likely got scammed.

Either way back to S6 speculation Smiley.

11033  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S1 - so did I fry it? on: April 16, 2015, 03:50:02 AM
I just don't believe that 8 pin EPS connector would fit into 6 pin PCIE connector. They has different shape configuration.

You would have to force it very hard I would think.   I'm unsure how he managed it.  I have not seen it done that is why I personally wonder if S1 is still good, it will be interesting to see what it does after this.
11034  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: NEW Faucet Rotator - www.faucet-[Suspicious link removed] on: April 16, 2015, 03:46:58 AM
i will try it

Hey.. you said that you check that! Today, no one checked my rotator.. it means that noone needs projects like that..

i'm disappointed..

You going into a hard competition.  People go hard after referrals, right now rotaters are the "cool" way to get them.

If you want to compete you really need to have it keep BTC address where it copies to next website.   Also you need something new.  For lack of better term a gimmick that makes your site better then others.

11036  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 'Homeland Security' To Purchase 62 Million More Rounds Of AR-15 AMMO on: April 16, 2015, 03:37:32 AM
The Department of Homeland Security is set to purchase over 62 million rounds of ammo typically used in AR-15 semi-automatic rifles, just weeks after the ATF was forced to back down on a ban on M855 bullets.

This was pretty amazing for people to watch.   It sounded like these would get banned, I thought it was going to since these specific bullets are able to go through a good amount of steel.

Just the rumor of  this sold pretty much every stockpile of this ammo.   Companies making this ammo had one heck of a good time on sales.

Why did you quote me without adding anything? Just curious Smiley

Feds attempting to control the market, dry up supply? Purchase in addition to billions of bullets previously bought by feds

The Department of Homeland Security is set to purchase over 62 million rounds of ammo typically used in AR-15 semi-automatic rifles, just weeks after the ATF was forced to back down on a ban on M855 bullets.

A posting on FedBizOpps.gov this week reveals that the DHS is looking to contract with a company to provide 12.6 million rounds of .223 Remington ammunition per year for a period of five years – totaling 62.5 million bullets.

The solicitation explains that the purchase is intended, “to achieve price savings over the current .223 Rem duty ammunition.” The bullets will be used by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents nationwide for “training” purposes.

The .223 Remington is one of the most common rifle cartridges in use in the United States and is used both in bolt action rifles and semi-automatic rifles such as the AR-15 and the Ruger Mini-14.

More...http://www.infowars.com/dhs-to-purchase-62-million-rounds-of-ar-15-ammo/

Why?  So they can shoot any of their fellow Customs and Border Patrol agents who actually try to arrest someone sneaking in?

Smiley

This article is partial wrong.  They would be buying 5.56 nato rounds.   .223 is not 5.56 nato.  Yes close but no not the same.

A gun stamped 5.56 can shoot both the 5.56 and .223(Example is a AR-15).   A gun stamped .223 you should never put a 5.56 nato in.
11038  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S1 - so did I fry it? on: April 16, 2015, 03:18:48 AM
So like a moron - I connected up my FIRST Antminer S1 (I know, electricity cost more than mining revenue...), and I connected 1 PCIE 6 pin connector and the other (daisy chained to the first) wouldn't reach.  So hey, here is another 8 pin connector that is similar (black and yellow wires, similar stuff) and of course AFTERWARDS I see the yellow and black is reversed.  So here is what happened;

I added the paperclip trick to PSU, connected the one PCIE connector up and the BAD connector up, powered up and zip?!  shut it off quick and try redoing it.  Again zip, so try again with thicker wire jumper.  Again nothing - then I think, well maybe I didn't let it sit long enough.. then after 20 seconds, the magic smoke is coming from the PSU!!  I power down quick and disconnect everything.  Then, as I SHOULD have done to start with, I try the paperclip alone and it starts to power up (finally fan spins!) and then more magic smoke and I pull it and quit.

Now I'm hoping I fried the PSU only (which is stupid as the S1 cost me $42 and the PSU cost me $70).  What do you think?  I'm going to get another PSU tomorrow to try again, but anyone else ever do this?  Did the Antminer survive?

Frack I'm pissed at myself for being this stupid!  Get all pumped up to get it fired up and .... denied!!

I think you fried your PSU that other cord as a CPU power.... it was in no way made for PCIE.   As far as S1 not sure but PSU is a goner.
