11041  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / German Government Tracks Bitcoin Transactions To Prevent Terrorism Financing on: January 05, 2016, 04:03:25 PM
Germany wants to take cryptocurrency under government control. On January 2, the Christian Social Union (CSU) presented a document which offers several solutions to combat terrorism. According to Die Welt, one such solution includes taking transactions of virtual currencies such as Bitcoin under control. Such a measure is aimed at preventing terrorism financing,  a problem that stands sharp especially after the Munich terror alert.

BitcoinCT r:  8 allows anonymous transactions without the necessity of personal identification or the ability to track sender and receiver. No wonder the currency is so convenient for illegal purposes such as financing terrorist acts. According to Die Welt, “the so-called Islamic State is financed mainly by oil sales, the antique-trade and, probably, by donations from around the world”.

That is the main reason the German government wants to control cryptocurrency transactions in the first place - they want to dry out terrorists’ income sources as even they need money to act. Seems reasonable enough, though it contradicts the principle of anonymity of Bitcoin. On the other hand it may be a fair price for the possibility of weakening terrorism.

I'm not sure about you but I just this kind of crap ... when they relate terrorism to Bitcoin , It's like terrorists or drug dealers or whatever don't use fiat

11042  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how to recover btc on: January 05, 2016, 03:51:24 PM
If you use Paypal you can claim your money

how to recover INVESTED BITCOINS to scam sites ?

That's what's good about Bitcoin (not that good in your case) , it's impossible to make a chargeback unless you didn't use fees on the transaction then the BTC should go back to you after few days , however most of websites and individuals only accept confirmed Bitcoin transactions .

there are hundreds of websites offering btc investment

new users got scammed everyday , HOW to prevent this ?

Honestly I never got scammed by this kind of website because I use simply my brain . Like there isn't free money , there isn't free Bitcoin .
Scams are too obviously and they are most of the time "too good to be true" , (E.g deposit 0.1 BTC , receive 0.2 BTC) .
11043  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: I think user "mobiletalk" scammed me on: January 05, 2016, 02:31:18 PM
My bad, I'm didn't see him feedback. He scammer since 2015. Why he not getting ban?
http://oi63.tinypic.com/etfvjr.jpg

I think I can't chargeback becuase I payment as a gift. Paypal siad "We're sorry, but this transaction cannot be disputed because it is not a purchase of goods or services. Please contact the recipient directly".

Anyone know how to chargeback if payment as a gift?

Administration don't ban scammers because they will basically comeback using other accounts and since multiple accounts are allowed there is nothing to do to stop them , however people leave negative trust on profiles , so you just shouldn't trade with negative trust users .

After you PM'ed me , I searched little bit and here is what I found : http://www.sythe.org/archives/807713-can-you-chargeback-paypal-gift.html (see in bold below)

Quote
There are two ways that you can be charged back on PayPal.

The first is Item dispute, saying that you did not receive the item, the item is faulty, etc. This is cancelled out in PayPal gift (as there is no item.)

Secondly, there is Unauthorized dispute, this IS applicable to Gift, as you are saying that you were not the one who sent the money, and PayPal will hold the money and investigate.

I also believe you can ring PayPal and ask them to open a dispute on gifts.

No problem , I checked and it says that It should be confirmed by the guardian of the vault or something , within 24-48 hours , so it's probably not going to get confirmed today .
11045  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: I think user "mobiletalk" scammed me on: January 05, 2016, 12:28:13 PM
Transaction that involve Paypal-Bitcoin don't really need an escrow honestly because transactions are reversible .
If he indeed scammed you , then contact paypal and tell them . If you paid from your Credit card then it will be even easier to chargeback by contacting the credit card company .
11046  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitok.com , legit ? on: January 05, 2016, 11:03:19 AM
Thanks for clearing things up but I'm little bit disappointed because you don't accept Paypal as payment method , at least fix the website because there is Paypal logo on "DEPOSIT WITH ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR SYSTEMS"
11047  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin debit card on: January 05, 2016, 10:14:49 AM
I just wanted to report that you have some kind of bug or something .
when you are logged and you see the rates and when are not logged (on the mainPage) and you see the rates , they are not the same as you can see here :

Comparing by other websites (like preev.com) , I'd say that the correct rates are the one when you see when you log-off . (430$ at the moment) .
11048  Economy / Digital goods / Re: I'm buying bitgold with btc. on: January 05, 2016, 09:13:18 AM

11049  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did you get into Bitcoin? on: January 05, 2016, 09:09:43 AM
I was actually YouTubing about how to get my Paypal verified (since I was under 18 years old that time) and I couldn't make a bank account or anything then I felt on this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7opj5-32hw
then I started reading about Bitcoin and here I'm now Grin (All that happened in 2014 so yes I'm little bit late but well .. )

11051  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: fund now show up on: January 05, 2016, 07:15:04 AM
If it's sent without issues (means that electrum didn't give any errors) then everything should be fine .
Do you trust the receiver ? If not , then he is probably lying and he actually received the funds . Another way to check if he actually received the funds is to check your address/ his address or the TXID here :  https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC
11052  Economy / Digital goods / [WTS] Bitgold => 0.200g on: January 05, 2016, 06:59:46 AM

I find them pretty interesting as well.. Apparently been around since March, so I'm a bit surprised that no one seems to have used them or reported on them here.

I might try a visa gift card and see what happens Tongue

Alright , if you do that please reply here with more information's (how much time , fees etc ... )

Yeah, I'll do that if I pull the trigger.

Using a VISA gift card is a great idea, maybe I'll buy one and try them too.

I contacted them recently, they said that they did require ID (passport), Artem was the name IIRC.

Yes, please report back if they perform OK.  If I get a gift card, I will try to do the same.

Do they ask for this kind of real information's for all kind of transactions ? (even using other payment methods) ? If it's the case then this is definitely not a good alternative to virwox.com , at least not for me.

11057  Economy / Economics / Re: Block reward halving and BC price on: January 04, 2016, 10:40:50 AM
Currently new BC are created worth of 1.4 million dollars every day. If we assume that the current need for BC is worth of 1.4 million dollars a day and BC supply halves, shouldn't that mean, that price should double? Or has that allready been baked in the current price?

It should rise logically yes but it won't double because the daily mined coins are going to get halved from 25 BTC to 12.5 BTC and not every coin that exists on the world will get halved . only the new mined ones
11058  Other / Off-topic / Re: If someone hacked my account can i get it back ? on: January 04, 2016, 10:30:15 AM
So i'm asking if someone hacked my account and changed the pass + email.... can i get it back ?

Thank you.

It's like the user above said however .... make sure that you are using an address from a Desktop wallet because using an address from an exchange won't give you the ability to sign a message which means you can't get your account back .
I'd recommend using something known and simple to run (Electrum , Multibit HD , Bitcoin Core) or any other service that gives you full control of your private keys .

EDIT : I read your post below and gave you negative trust ...
11059  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] Hero Member Accounts on: January 04, 2016, 09:43:11 AM
Since then are not "hacked" accounts like you are saying , you won't be having any problems on providing signed message and using escrows then ?
If it's the case then I will buy it for 0.1 BTC , but I guess we all know you are not going to do any of that and that's why you used SatoshiBox on the first place.
11060  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: network traffic in bitcoin core on: January 04, 2016, 09:26:29 AM
Well it's the traffic analysis page in the help section of Bitcoin core. It just says "traffic analysis", and it doesn't specify that it is only from the core calls. I was just checking to see if it was an analysis of computer traffic, or from the comms module in the core program.

It should be for Bitcoin Core and bitcoin core only otherwise it wouldn't make much sense to make such a thing .
