11061  Other / Meta / Re: bitcointalk.org Hacked Before? on: October 06, 2017, 08:48:03 PM
I've witnessed these hacks three times and the forum also had gone down several times due to massive DDoS and other attacks but it's cool that it has managed to stay. Also, the data breached that happened in 2015 might be the cause why there are so many hacked accounts currently, and I become a victim as well as I haven't changed my password in this account for the last 2 years. The data is still available in the dark web and it's not in plain text, but still can be decoded to gain the passwords of individuals who haven't changed their passwords since 2015.
11062  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is Bitcoin Price So Fluctuating? on: October 06, 2017, 07:18:46 PM
No one is complaining, and if there's one, they would be the ones who haven't used bitcoins in their life and are afraid by these price movements. Millions of traders all around the world are involved in these price movements, so I wouldn't be surprised myself if I bought a burger that's worth $20 in bitcoin and the next day it will be worth $25. Lastly, no one is forcing someone to buy using bitcoins, so why the need to complain if in the first place you aren't obliged to use it if you're hesitating?
11063  Economy / Economics / Re: What country do you think will recognize Bitcoin as an official currency? on: October 06, 2017, 05:39:10 PM
Most of the countries that accept bitcoin don't really treat it as an official currency but rather a digital asset that carries value and can be used as a form of payment, like what precious stones and gold are. Since it can be traded to fiat, these countries imposed regulations such as AML/KYC to prevent fraud and possible money laundering using these cryptos as tools. I also don't see countries recognizing bitcoin as an official currency, albeit the possibility that they'd allow it to co-exist with theirs just to be ready on the digitalization of money that will happen in the future, and bitcoin is a prime example for that.
11064  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin & other Countries cryptocurrency on: October 06, 2017, 04:39:00 PM
It will be deemed as another altcoin nonetheless, and woupdn't affect bitcoin that much since it already gained a large user-base and I think that these cryptos would only be exclusive eithin their own countries. It can be used to pay taxes, settle and issue bonds, be a form of security or any other practical use that their government may see fit. The world is starting to crawl over to digital payments and blockchain technology. It might not be long before traditional fiat be replaced with these countries' own cryptocurrency.
11065  Other / Meta / Re: It would be better if moderators would open a child board - Airdrops - ... on: October 06, 2017, 04:34:52 PM
Pre-mined coins being disguised as airdrops shouldn't have a dedicated place of its own here in this forum. There's a lot of talks about several sections on the altcoin board due to the influx of new ICOs and whatnot but IMO most of these just don't deserve being there. ICOs may have their own place aside from the Altcoin Discussion board since it's beginning to outnumber some coins that don't do the scheme. Also, these airdrops can just be transferred to the giveaways section since it's just another form of a giveaway no matter how you put it.
11066  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Good time to get into crypto? on: October 06, 2017, 03:47:27 PM
Buying coins is still worth it, but mining, you need to mine other altcoins since bitcoin mining requires a lot of power and expensive hardware to get profit (or even breakeven) from it. After that you can sell your altcoins for btc then hold them until you get some nice hefty profit. It's never too late and it's always worth it.
11067  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bill Gates Praised the Bitcoins on: October 06, 2017, 02:36:02 PM
Bill Gates sees it (bitcoin) as an inexpensive form of handling large transactions and also a form of fast and reliable payment. While he seems to be bullish about it, he tends to look down on the anonymity feature of the coin—which in the contrary is praised by people who uses it daily—and dropping down statements saying "our customers want to be known and not anonymous" but still it's a good thing overall. Also, Gates and his orgs are also invested on Vodaphone's M-pesa payment system, which does the same as what bitcoin does but isn't anonymous, so it may be another marketing strat to promote their services without being too obvious about it and riding bitcoin's back to get what they wanted.
11068  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: IT IS TOO LATE? on: October 06, 2017, 01:16:40 PM
Same question I had when bitcoin reached the first ATH of $1200, "Am I late to the party?" Those times it seems that everything is already at the peak, simply because everyone is so happy and selling their bags. Fortunately, it's just a massive pump orchestrated by Willy and his friends. If there's one thing I learned about holding bitcoins that is you hold it for a long time since there is always a high possibility that you'll gain profit by just holding those coins.
11069  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin investment with lump sum or regular small amount on: October 06, 2017, 09:07:45 AM
As someone who doesn't have a big amount of cash always lying around, I'd choose the second method as it also helps average your spending and could potentially prevent a big loss (and a heart attack) if everything doesn't go well as planned. The first method works for those who have deep pockets but not everyone can afford it, though regardless of both methods thing is you need to buy low and sell high in order to make a profit.
11070  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Chart analysis on: October 06, 2017, 08:44:52 AM
Hello to everybody,

I have question about chart analysis. Are there any differences betwen chart analysis in traditional stock exchange and crypto exchange?  Considering that the crypto exchange is much more emotional in decision making? Can we use exactly the same analysis techniques or do we have to adjust them to our crypto reality? If yes, please give me some tips what I have to change that the analysis would be more accurate.

Quick answer: no. We can still use the same techniques on analysis and whatnot, but we can't rely to them as a solid proof/correlation to future price movements because as you said it, crypto markets are more emotional compared to your regular stock markets. I dabbled a bit in cryptotrading, and there are only two indicators that I used most of the time: price together with the current news and the order book in all exchanges. Getting the general sentiment of the market towards the coin is a good start, and you can measure it by the price and what's on the news today. And what defines it further is the order book. Strong support on the buy side proves that the market is positive and is ready for a push. That's how I do it though, and it's going pretty well from me. Haven't used MACD and other common indicators as it only increases the noise to signal ratio in my analysis.
11071  Other / Meta / Re: why my post is reduced? on: October 06, 2017, 08:13:23 AM
Having a quick look at your profile, you have plenty of one-liners that doesn't seem to be connected to any threads that you've posted it on, and it demands to be deleted. Users nay have reported it and mods have deleted it seeing that is spam. Don't worry much about deleted post, worry on how to improve your post quality or just don't post at all.
11072  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you still use Bitcoin if it stabilised at around USD$5000? on: October 06, 2017, 08:07:11 AM
Of course not. Well, if its value stopped at around 5000 dollars, there is no point in investing in bitcoin. What will you gain if its price stopped and will never increase again? Investing in bitcoin will be useless if that happens. We can still use bitcoin but not as an investment. It can still be used for transactions.

You'd gain financial freedom aside from its value on USD. You'd be able to bypass regional restrictions without having to give them your identity and most importantly you'll have your assets safe with a minimal risk of being seized if shit's hit the fan. Also, there's no ceiling or cap on the price movement, so I'm pretty sure that $5000 wouldn't be the top.

But to each his own, I guess.
11073  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe that digital currencies will replace Fiat? on: October 05, 2017, 10:42:12 PM
No, but I see bitcoin being a major store of value like what gold is for rich people. Governments would still find a way to use their fiats even if it's already hyperinflated, or will just find another replacement of the USD from other currencies that has a strong and stable economy (I bet there's none), but that would still be far from reality as long as the US has control over the economy of the world and every single one of these countries are still dependent to their dearest dollar.
11074  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In Japan, bitcoin-bonds were issued on: October 05, 2017, 06:44:40 PM
The talks about this appeared over a month ago though I'm still amazed that it seems almost everyone is liking cryptos too much in Japan, and the lawmakers are creating regulations suited for the use of bitcoin as a form of payment that can be audited. Also, it's not just the government who has a keen liking for the coin but also the investors which seem to be very welcoming about the new idea.

The legal clarity has given Japanese companies a green light to experiment with blockchain products. Electronics retailer Bic Camera Inc. now accepts bitcoin as payment at certain stores, while Peach Aviation Ltd. plans to begin accepting it to book flights later this year. In finance, SBI Holdings Inc. last month began using a blockchain for currency remittance, while Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group Inc. joined a consortium of companies that plan to use the technology for settlements.

Though one thing, if the coins that was set into a bond lose value over time, I wonder how would they pay the debt or do they also take into account the value of 1 bitcoin after the deal was sealed? Huh
11075  Economy / Securities / Re: ★ BTC Renew ★ - Official Launch October 2017 - 100% INVESTMENT BONUS on: October 03, 2017, 05:15:16 PM
-snip-
0.71% daily is pretty high potential profit, though we aren't promising that every single week and have not grasped our potential yet until we officially launch. We have no intention of 100% sticking to our current plans and they may change in the future to adapt to our investments and how our program is running.

If my broker told me this, I'd immediately take my money back and never talk to him again. This is not a good business ethics since you don't have a solid plan on how to pay out your investors. It clearly is a ponzi scheme, just stripped down on the unrealistic gains to make it look legit to other people. Also, what investments really? What coins? Are you arbitraging, pumping and dumping or what?

I'm kinda amazed that no one has tagged you yet for the potential scam that you might pull off. Anyways, to those who are reading this thread, see how evasive their answers were about what investments are they engaged into. Not a good investment, you're just giving some scums beer money.
11076  Economy / Securities / Re: LoyceV's Hero Small 10 Month 10 Person 10 Altcoin Investment Experiment: DEPOSIT on: October 03, 2017, 05:07:26 PM
How exciting! I wasn't expecting all 10 slots to be taken. I will be sending the agreed amount as soon as possible.
Wakey wakey Cheesy
Your post history shows you haven't been very active lately. My little 10-10-10 experiment is now solely waiting for you to fund your share.

Maybe give him 24 hours and if he doesn't respond or replied to any of your messages then give the spot to someone who's also interested. Also, it's been 5 days since Taras is offline, and his post history doesn't state anything about his inactivity in this forum. Idk just a suggestion as I myself am waiting for this to start. Still your call since it's your idea. Tongue
11077  Economy / Securities / Re: LoyceV's Hero Small 10 Month 10 Person 10 Altcoin Investment Experiment: DEPOSIT on: October 01, 2017, 09:40:26 AM
Already sent my deposit. It's only waiting for confirmations. Thanks for letting me in, LoyceV! Also, I picked ARDR since Bytecoin isn't in trex.

This is the blockchain history for reference.

Thanks for reaching out to me, LoyceV. I'd like to take Bytecoin as my pick since I'm following it (but not being vocal about it lol) for the last month or so. This is my return address: 1LQGCNVgBgeM5XujJKXXCn1KvnYkHgWPVA and will be doing the deposit later.
11079  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Feeling regret after (Not trading, not gambling, etc...) on: September 30, 2017, 05:24:18 PM
No one can really guess these lucky breaks, and even in mining, Luck is a big factor in finding blocks Smiley

Back then I myself am skeptical about bitcoin and was too afraid to put a single penny on it. Back when a $20 movement was significant, I thought that I have missed the boat, and so have started thinking of a better game plan that could help me profit instead of helping me ponder over my regrets. It's never too late though, you were just at the right place at the wrong time.
11080  Economy / Economics / Re: When will we see the first investment fund with focus on solid mineable coins? on: September 30, 2017, 05:08:23 PM
Isn't bitcoin the first mineable coin that isn't pre-mined? It is also the first coin to get some real serious investments so I don't know what you are trying to say. ICOs are just another way of saying "I have a cool project but I don't have the money, please fund it and I'll give you a share of my great work" and it's easier to achieve funds due to the craze made by successful ICOs in the past. I don' trusr the current ICOs in one bit, and it's funny that in a short span of time, anti-premine goons are drooling over ICOs because it's easy money for them.
