11081  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 2021, time for a new general & diff speculation thread... on: February 11, 2021, 02:07:32 PM
Other than 2009 no year has started with 39 days in a row above all prior years ATH.

Last years price on Dec 31 2020 was 28,819

every price this year on the close was 29,729 or higher.

Stats come from below

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=138109.msg56303474#msg56303474

We don't know how long price streak will continue fingers are crossed.

And once again diff is trailing back down.
earlier in this period we were at 11% we are down to 3.8%.

This strong opening then a pull back has happened last few jumps an interesting pattern indeed.

four pages of threads for this month

Why is that?

Simple Alt coins are cheap and you can still get lucky.
Also they allow gpu mining which is quiet and can be done in your home.

Nice!  You have great luck with the shuffle.  I think Newegg hates me.  Hopefully they get some 3060 ti's and 3080's in the shuffle and reverse my luck.

Nice Phil.  It always seems like the shuffle is the 3070 card and not the 3060ti or 3080 with an occasional 6800 in there.  I got picked for the 5800x which I decided to pass on.  I wonder if that messed up my chances of getting the other stuff.  Does anybody know if you can get picked for more than one item?

First time I was picked for an evga 3090 3987 and a PNY 3090.  It was before I got all the money from the Doge So I just purchased the evga 3987

It was Jan 27 2021 my birthday
Doge took off on
Jan 28 2021.

I won 6 times

1 time  I grabbed the evga 3090
1 time I grabbed the evga 3070 with capture card. combo
1 time I grabbed the msi 3070 with ram combo

1 time they cheated me out of a white gigabyte 3070 with a psu Combo
1 time they gave me a shot for a ryzen 5800x I passed
1 time they  gave me a shot for a 1200 amd card I passed

I lost 2 times.

So far I spent about 3900 with them

I also found a 3090 for 1950

so I spent 5850 since my birthday.

I am running     180 mh   3090 + 3070
I am waiting on 180 mh   3090 + 3070

I think I am done for now.

360mh earns about  43 usd a day

so 150 days  = 6450 should cover everything.

It is an ask for eth to carry on. Beyond 150 days.

Gtx970 is still good for 1080p gaming  Shocked how come you don't see buyers for the cards? What website are you using? To sell the cards faster you should go on ebay and make sure the price are fair enough, don't use high price or else you won't see buyers, the cards aren't good for mining so selling may be slower

yeah they sell on ebay.

122.50 still bidding

So you have six rigs loaded with nvidia 3070 cards.

why are you running windows?

If they are only miners run linux.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Down a wee this morning... currently $44535USD/$56504CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Are we heading into a month of $4xxxx sideways just like the month of $3xxxx sideways we just endured?

A few weeks of of sideways is very good.
11093  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: A crippled 1080ti mines way under what it should. Make an offer. on: February 10, 2021, 02:32:59 PM
Are you using enlargement ETH pill?

with or without pill it does the numbers above.

I had 4 of these the other 3 would do around 40mh-42mh at 175

This one used to do 40mh-42mh at 175 watts

Then it dropped to 9mh and 75 watts

Note I can set watts from 125 to 200 on smos and it still does

75 watts.

Some part in it has broken as it is not software making the low numbers.

I will make a video of it later today.

Note:

I was offered an offer under 100 today but over 50.

below is the only 1080ti offered for parts they want $275

https://www.ebay.com/itm/AORUS-GTX-1080Ti-11GB-Spares-Or-Repairs/284176328203?

They say it does not work at all.

I don't want 275 that is too much.

maybe 125 and free shipping.

Obviously it could be good if you know how to fix it

But as I said it is actually making a bit of profit for me. Due to high ETH prices.

phil do you not like server psus?

they are good but not with the onda boards.  the odna need  atx to feed the built in pcie slots

this one below uses server psu's well

https://weyimold.en.alibaba.com/product/60743476945-807760477/In_stock_bitcoin_mining_motherboard_HM65_with_8_PCIE_slot_no_need_riser_card.html?spm=a2700.shop_oth.41413.21.270759eaUK5T8L

I have a clone of this one below

https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/ZA-WKJ1800-DDR3L-onda-motherboard-Onda_60759603861.html?spm=a2700.galleryofferlist.normal_offer.d_title.cc6c15fe9IEuYc

it wants atx.

my super good deal is got on the odna motherboards is sold out  maybe late feb I can order them again

Edit:
ETH is now paying 13.01 cents a mh

don't know how long it will do this but

this is about

AMD
$6.50 for a 5700 or 5700 xt
$5.20 for a 5600 or 5600 xt
$3.36 for a 5500 or 5500 xt

Nvidia
$14.82 for a 3090
$12.35 for a 3080
$ 7.80  for a 3070
$ 7.80  for a 3060ti

those are good numbers

once again it could crash and burn, but any of the above at MSRP just buy them.

The worst card at msrp is the 3090 at free power it is about 135 days to break even 135 x 14.82 = $2000.7

19 days left in February. Will we see 50k?

Sure less than a week.

60 k by march 3
11097  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: February 10, 2021, 05:08:24 AM
Can't complain. But the farm has acquired more space we can do 200 amps of 240 = 48000 watts

So 40x    3 card 3090's would be 40 x 900 = 36k watts

I think I may build 2x 3090's   with 1x 1660 super. that rig will be about 113+113+28 =254mh and pull 265+265+80 = 610 + 40 = 650 watts

 the goal is

1 of these https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=06G-P4-1061-KR

with

2 of these

https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=24G-P5-3975-KR

use the onda mobos

with the 850 watt seasonic

 https://www.bestbuy.com/site/seasonic-focus-gx-850-850w-80-gold-psu-full-modular-fan-control-in-fanless-silent-cooling-mode-10-yr-warranty-black/6414265.p?skuId=6414265

I don't think the seasonic can do 3 3090's pretty sure it will do 2x 3090 with 1x 1660 super

getting 1000 watt psu's is now hard to do.

why not do a 3060 instead of the 1660?   3060 can do 60mh @110 watts... unless you already have the 1660. Smiley

Yes it can but the 3090's are heavy 265 x 2 = 530 add 80 for the 1660 = 610 add 50 for rest of rig = 660   the seasonic focus is a 850 watt decent psu

I can get them at okay prices.   if I do a 3060ti or a 3070. the rig goes past 710 maybe more like 740 watts.

I simply don't want to do that much watts on a 850 watt psu.

I can get the 850 watts psu's easy

I can not get good deals on 1000 watt psu's

I have to take all factors into account.

In my perfect world (yeah right)

I would setup 35  3 card 3090 rigs with 1300 watt evga gold psu's

about a 900 watt rig but I can not get evga 1300 watt gold psu's

sold out
https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=120-G2-1300-XR

and they cost 2x the seasonic focus 850 watt

so 2x 850 = 1700 watts 2 rigs

1 x 1300 = 1300 watts 1 rig even if available this was available the seasonic are better.

I have 7 of them on hand

But if the wealthiest man in the world vouches for it and the price goes up, then it is manipulation and a toy for the rich?

Since you are partly referring to my post then I will answer you what I meant by "toy for the rich". Tell me how many people 10 years ago could afford to buy 1 BTC? Probably anyone on this planet who was working and receiving a salary at the time. Let's ask the same question for 5 years after that, so in 2015 - who could afford to buy 1 BTC which then cost about $200? The percentage of people who have already dropped out of the game at that time is significant, because some people have a salary of only a few tens of dollars a month.

And finally came 2021, the price of 1 BTC is now almost $50 000 - who can afford to buy 1 BTC today, or maybe 0.5 BTC? Just the ones buying today, rich guys like Musk or Saylor. After them come even richer people, so don't think that I used that term for no reason - Musk may be the richest man in the world publicly known, but there are rich people from the shadows who acquire their wealth for generations and have trillions of dollars or euros.

https://www.cheatsheet.com/money-career/real-richest-man-world-other-secret-billionaires.html/

This is perfectly true.

And it is why bitcoin maximumilist  are practicing a doomed belief system.

We are going to have to deal with other coins and rathe than say they are all shit coins  we need to sort them out and rank them better.

Doge may or may not be super liquid but there are 130 billion coins out there price is low and network is well back be ASICs .
Has a place as does LTC thousands of other coins are garbage.

If the coin does not have proper iron (miners) backing it value is not so good.

Any one can play with doge. Own a lot of coins.

Not so with BTC as owning a lot of coins is not easy

That 59 CAD is looking nice.

I am stunned I predicted both feb 8 and feb 9 pretty much spot on

For my next trick I will attepmt tp predict price on March 3rd 2021.

I say 65k CAD price but I hope for 65K USD price.

Hint I would settle for either one of the two numbers.
