11101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The profitability and effort put into different ways of earning bitcoin on: January 29, 2020, 01:47:43 PM
Which year was this made in? It must have during a time when faucet owners weren't banned by Google ads yet, cause there's almost no way you can make money from a faucet site now when ad revenues for crypto is basically nada.

Also, HYIP? It's not just high risk, it's very low profitability (unless they meant actually owning or running them). The only hyip guys making money are the ones earning from referring. You might as well replace HYIP with gambling. But that's not specific to bitcoin at all.

And lending for high profitability? I did earn a bit from loan facilities back when they were in demand at Polo, but even the best DeFi lending platforms today offer interest I'd consider low profitability at disproportionate risk.

11102  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-01-28] Your Bitcoin Should Be Seized to Pay for Climate Reparations on: January 29, 2020, 10:17:59 AM
I would seize all computers used for frivolous work, including for social media likes and rants, and use them to mine Bitcoin and provide financial independence to people all around the world. If you Tweet and cause people to spend electricity (and thefore produce carbon) to like your Tweet, you're evil and deserve to be Thunberg'd.

Not sure if I should say wow Villa or wow Foxes. But you know what? On the account I watched, with Vardy injured and Villa seemingly full of fire and Samatta looking like he's going to score, maybe it's best Villa go to the final after all... though City will still win it if they progress. United, can they conjure a miracle? That's for another night.

Tonight is a strange, strange night. Both EPL and EFL cup matches happening at the same time. So it's an easy parlay:

Game 1: West Ham vs Liverpool. Liverpool WIN @1.34. Sportsbet odds: 1.33
Game 2: Man City vs Man Utd. United WIN @8.90. Sportsbet odds: 8.70

Well done holdihans, sweet wins are made of these;) You guys ready for me to win 1 BTC this weekend? Haha. I am mixing it up again with a couple of favs and a few who haven't netted in a while.

P.S. @FJ, thanks for updating Cenk Tosun in Everton! You didn't respond so I wasn't sure but actually team sheets still not fully updated, would be really great to be able to pick some newly-transferred players to score (Samatta for Aston Villa, for example). And players transferred out still on team sheets (Slimani from Leicester to Monaco, e.g.)Wink Otherwise, good job!

Transfermarkt helps a lot if you want to know updated team sheets =p
11105  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 28, 2020, 02:29:47 PM
@buwaytress - I’m thinking about booking a weeks holiday to Turkey around the time it’s the CL Final because it’s in Istanbul. If we don’t make the final, whatever. If we do it’ll be much cheaper to get an internal flight from the resort area to Istanbul Wink

Not going to tell my girl but it’s something I’ve been thinking about.

I just looked online and you're actually a genius. My partner might kill me if I go ahead though, since we've got a big trip already planned in summer to visit family after 3 years, but, it actually even looks sort of doable for a long weekend... but perhaps better to do the Anfield visit instead. I really wish I could sort dates out cause I want to go badly haha.

@hilarious: yeah I don't want to second guess Klopp, he got us to where we are and he knows better than most the weight of expectations... I do wish we'd have gone through cause the FA cup is definitely winnable, and yeah a possible double or treble will make this season incredible. But okay, maybe he does actually secretly (and so do I) want to get that invincibles record -- which will be talked about forever (even the Gooner's one will of course but for Liverpool to do it the way they will if the do, gods all the ifs haha)...

I'm not sure which I'd take. The treble (which yeah if you include the Super Cup and CWC makes it even more special)?

Or breaking the points total and being the new invincibles and possibly being the team to talk about for many lifetimes? I mean, it's silly to dream of a 112 points haul that will probably never ever be broken, but if you kept the first 11 fresh as possible, it's "only" 15 wins away ha ha ha.

I kinda hate that I'm dreaming all this now haha. But bloody hell, I'm entitled, aren't I? Anfield already gave in and started singing, so why not enjoy =p
11106  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC could reach 6 figures (rational explanation) on: January 28, 2020, 01:13:48 PM
Interesting isn't it, how we've widened our perceptions for what makes for rational explanations, once we really get down to it? I already said now in my mind rational price is already very relative in my Bitcoin vocabulary, but once we also take into account other factors like supply (I still think it's irrational to think of 1 BTC instead of 1 satoshi) and mining ATH (I still think it's irrational that the biggest miners are thinking to double or triple their rig capacities in a few months), then we start to see it's a bit pointless to define the limits of what's rational for Bitcoin =)

Damn, thought I posted this but timed out. Sorry, match started it seems. Yes, well. Arsenal. Haha. Anyway.

Only one match worth watching tonight and it's a repeat of Leicester Villa. The Foxes should really have won it and now Vardy's injured they've got a tough lineup, but they better win this cause no way Villa will beat City in the finals (yes, I'm betting on United in that one but you know). Anyway, AFC CL qualifiers too: Kashima Antlers I will remember have lost some of their shine of yesteryear and the Aussie outfit have been playing above expectations in the last round. A pretty parlay, shall we?

Game 1: Aston Villa-Leicester City. Foxes WIN @1.71. Sportsbet odds: 1.68
Game 2: Kashima Antlers-Melbourne Victory. Melbourne WIN @6.30. Sportsbet odds: 5.90

11108  Economy / Speculation / Re: Elliott Wave... RSI... MACD ... How much should i rely on them to see BTC move? on: January 28, 2020, 11:10:55 AM
Or, do like I do. Don't trade. I do find myself looking up a lot of these indicators but I don't waste my time keeping up and charting possible lines. I leave it others and then gorge myself on their findings. It's almost purely entertainment value (I do get a bit of FOMO myself but thankfully I stay completely out of non-necessary trading.

I mean, I think many of us, admitting it or not, every now and then have a guilty bag of alts/stablecoin we trade a bit of bitcoin for, but it's nothing more than a speculative gamble, hoping to get in at some dip.

The real TA guys? Few. But if you really want to learn, figment is right: stick to the regular TA guys like exstasie. You'll actually learn something from them. But always make your own mind up. Take responsibility for your trade decisions and you'll be pleased, no matter the outcome.
11109  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The End of Crypto Signal Groups on: January 28, 2020, 09:33:27 AM
I know a bit of an old thread but seeing the title just reminded me of the one time I actually coughed up money to pay for a signal group membership. Few hundred people in there. Granted, more active than most channels I'd snooped on, a lot of charting, a lot of proper discussion but inevitably, just as unprofitable and non-transparent as a free group. As in, you don't get precise signals, no proof of trades that followed the signals, just a vague agreement that you get to see advice but not clear or precise instructions.

Owner even had the gall to tell me I "literally" chose the only 3 months they ever lost money.

So me hearing it's the end of such groups only makes me happy. Even if I know it's not true. Fools born every day. I was fool enough to try once, so I should know.

Hello, any bets you have placed in the past few weeks since the update are available by clicking sportsbook on your dashboard. These should be populating within a minute or 2 of you placing the wager. There was a delay on the betslips populating yesterday, but everything should be caught up and as normal going forward. If not, please let us know! Regarding betslips placed prior to the update (January Cool, at this time we would have to retrieve those manually for you and we apologize for this inconvenience, but are happy to do so.

We know that dice is a player favorite. There are currently several improvements in the works, but we will be working to get that back up as soon as possible for you. Feel free to check in on the progress any time.

Thanks for the response guys, cheers... Problem is I have bets going back all the way to 2018 in my almost daily thread, so it's not like I need you to retrieve them manually, it's just that anyone who wants to verify an old betslip I posted can't anymore. Hoping you find a way to fix this some day (I imagine it's just a matter of repopulating data), but for posterity, I think it's really good advertising also to always have a clickable betslip!

Cheers on dice! Yeah, it's always a staple, even if it does mess with history when you put several thousand rolls;)

Definitely do a round 2! We'll always have to find a way to learn and my lesson is: guys, play a few of the freerolls first. It's just a small prize but it'll familiarise you with the setup and tell you if you've got any technical issues. Let's do another poll vote for the timing of next time. And yeah, amazing how the inactive guy gets 4th =p

@Gl0bbo, very neutral networks also work since otherwise, I wouldn't have access!
11112  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How Can A Trader in this Business Protect Themselves Against Volatility Risk? on: January 27, 2020, 04:05:25 PM
I think you really don't like volatility but in market, volatility is road to make money. Our protection way is using stop loss and money management, this is limit we can't break. Some people split their asset or replace money in stable coin, that's also protection. People get lost is just because they don't set management risk and obey it. For me you only need to fix your mindset about volatility and set your risk parameter to get success, that's it.

Volatility is also the same road to make losses, really, and judging from proven statistics that show the majority of traders lose money, I'm pretty sure a lot of traders in forex and crypto will know exactly volatility bites both ways, and if you want to trade, you first have to beat the spread and commission -- so you're immediately in a losing position as soon as you open a trade.

You can still lose even with good risk management, don't get fooled by thinking you can avoid it completely. But you can at least prevent catastrophe.
11113  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Main Club Partner of Watford FC ⚽ Fun. 🏀 Fast. 🎾 Fair. 🏆 on: January 27, 2020, 01:15:48 PM
In any case I had few other questions, when registering for the free rolls, could we extend the registration process? Is the times our own local time that you see or is it different time zone? Can we have free rolls for a ticket to bigger tourney that will pay better? Or maybe free bets of 2mbtc and what not?

The time you see is the server time zone (it happens to be my time but I'm accessing from a very personal neuron which is in a completely different timezone;) ) but it doesn't matter, since the countdown will show on the lobby anyway.

I registered for one freeroll, no issues for me. Just like the SB poker round I was first to bust after also being an early leader. I pretend I'm good at calling pre-flop bluffs, is my problem =p
11114  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC could reach 6 figures (rational explanation) on: January 27, 2020, 11:47:39 AM
The rational explanations have ALWAYS been there. And I remind myself, rational in Bitcoin is highly relative. $100 wasn't rational in 2013, $1000 wasn't in 2015, and $20000 certainly wasn't in 2017!

Every foundational aspect of Bitcoin has not only been proven, but strengthened every step since. Mass adoption and mass awareness have reached levels we like -- but when people truly understand why Bitcoin's so valuable, and when they truly begin using it (true mass adoption), oh I think 6-figures is rational. Now as to when that will happen...

Should have just gone for Napoli and be done with it, in the end. Or gone against Barca. Liverpool draw hurt me, but at least most of my money was on the HT win, since it had slightly better odds. Kids in defence, Lovren rusty af, oh well.

U23 Conmebol and another Arsenal loss, why not?

11116  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why bitcoin's price could crash soon by 20%? on: January 27, 2020, 09:31:51 AM
This Eerie Fractal Shows Why Bitcoin’s Price Could Soon Crash By 20% https://www.newsbtc.com/2020/01/25/eerie-fractal-bitcoin-price-tumble-10-percent-maybe-more/

Since Bitcoin broken out downtrend rallying by 12% since the price 6400$ bottom registered in December. Although bullish price action have noted that the breakout is reminiscent. When after president xi jinping endorsement of blockchain sent Bitcoin 40% higher on October. And the Bitcoin price last year preceded a strong crash from 8700$ to 6400$ in a few weeks time, marking a drop of 27%.

For the briefest of moments, I thought Eerie Fractal was actually a new thing. Til I clicked on the link itself. Strange to see this 20% crash being bandied around a few sites now, so I'm guessing someone or some people are trying out a new social experiment to see if they can self fulfill that prophecy. Not that I don't enjoy a bit of silly TA, but if it does drop 20%, it won't really be because of China, Iran or some flu bug and it won't be a repeat the 200EMA bounce. It'll just be business as usual.
11117  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcointalk Poker Night @ Sportsbet (Private game exclusively for forum members) on: January 27, 2020, 08:26:52 AM
good game everyone , managed to win the event right before my laptop battery died  Cheesy
guess next time we can organize something bigger , the software tho needs some fixes especially the sound notifications since if I switch tabs the poker tab won't make any sound when my time is running out and had many hands folded due to that

I didn't have any connection problems with the site tho

Somehow I had a feeling you'd be the winnar! Well done my friend, glad you took it home.

I think the timing is about right. A bit uncomfortable as I prefer Saturday but it seems everyone else found it good.

I agree the notifications need to work better, but overall I have had far worse poker experiences. The connection issue is probably on my end though (have to use very personal neurons if you get what I mean).

Bigger tourneys definitely I agree. And... let's fix everyone's registration issues.

@AlexSimion that really is tough luck I'm sure they'll do right by you if you reach out, but yeah, I think their support needs to be a bit more delicate... definitely you shouldn't have been allowed to register if you'd been restricted imo.

@Trofo and cryptofrka: Now I'm really curious why you guys are into handball!
11118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Air, Water, Bitcoin on: January 27, 2020, 07:19:48 AM
Actually its not a valid comparison. We cannot live without air, water and an energy source like that from our local star, but we could live without money.

History shows we used to trade things without money, but this wasn't too practical until "precious things" (rare) came around, then we could trade more easily. The concept of money due to practicality, originally it was the precious metals themselves, but then goverments happened...

The older cases of inflation were very physical. Romans when troubled by budgetary reasons (the usual) started reducing the amount of gold of each Dinar which prompted their hyperinflation later and an emperor even resigned (for the first time in their history).

But then paper "representing" those metals started being used, and the stage was set for the fractional reserve scam.

Bitcoin undoes this later part, in fact bitcoin doesn't even pretend to represent any arbitrary amount of metal, its price is freely decided by the market by its usefulness alone, so you could say its price is "honest" since you don't have to trust any third party to fulfill a promise of value. So while its not pegged to anything, it also is unique and limited. On top of that its electronic, so even easier to trade with.

Agreed. And to those that deign to say we could one day transfer our consciousness onto a computer chip and create an AI software to mimic our minds, we would still need a source of energy to power that, and for as long as entropy cannot be reversed, we are doomed to extinction in whatever means we live, organic or otherwise.

But money is the one invention of man that enabled commerce -- and perhaps one we no longer can do without, but it is not a concept that is guaranteed eternity. Already I read of places that have forsaken money and returned to barter. Perhaps some day, even private ownership will be obsolete.

Until then, Bitcoin is the better money.
11119  Economy / Economics / Re: Goverments creating digital currencies - Threat or Opportunity? on: January 26, 2020, 07:08:51 PM
It's not a threat to Bitcoin at all -- Bitcoin can only grow stronger for every instance of centralised money that is created and continues to come up short. Every failure of the centralised and the state, is a victory for Bitcoin. Threat to other centralised altcoins? Oh for sure.

Opportunity? Why not? Every government that realises it is creating yet another centralised currency - just more transparent and more under their control, might like blockchain and in that sense recognises Bitcoin tech as valid.
11120  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2020 price predictions on: January 26, 2020, 04:18:44 PM
Greenspan's nonsense prediction right about sums up everything that's right or wrong about predicting. We don't need to be experts to say anything with a certain percentage of certainty. In fact, Greenspan is 99% certain about 100 to 1 million? Well, I'm 100% It will be priced between $101 and $999,999.

Will that make me a better predictor or more genius than Greenspan if I'm right? Absolutely not.
