Damn efialtis I didn't know you had registration problems! Mine took a while to load so I missed at least one hand when I entered, but it had put me as inactive anyway so no loss.

I been observing on first break and yeah, spotty connection at times, I think a few freezes here and there but overall good connection and response from the dashboard. Here's how it looks after 1 hour and break:

Ah mitch, you kept raising the stakes at pre-flop so when I finally took your bait, of course, the very first card on the flop was an Ace to pair with your Ace! Good luck guys, now you know how quick I can check out on poker tourneys;)

sojourner is my nick there btw! I think SB poker software looks pretty good. We can do this again for sure!
11123  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How Can A Trader in this Business Protect Themselves Against Volatility Risk? on: January 26, 2020, 02:12:48 PM
I'll share some of my experience here re volatility, and how some of it doesn't affect P2P on Localbitcoins anyway.

At an exchange, you might experience flash crashes or flash spikes -- and even changing orders from second to second. An open offer from LBC will auto adjust depending on your algorithm to the market average, and if you observe it doesn't change much at all from second to second. Might change every minute or so, but it's pretty stable.

It's in your interest, therefore, to settle trades as quickly as possible. You can still get caught out, but if you have enough trades open in enough markets, you presumably sell as you buy. Some traders will cancel when price moves against them and that's not against the rules but it'll get you bad feedback. Just sell only when online, and as soon as offer is accepted. And when buying, buy on a trader you know well and is also online, who'll sell asap.

The spreads are quite big too. Definitely wider than 1% and that's ensuring you put your offers better than average ones.

Damn Newcastle. The only guys who didn't win their game, at home too! I mean, I know they're crap but I thought they'd turn things around after making their first 5th round appearance in over 10 years. Probably makes them good value bets for the replay I suppose.

Oh and Ufa, you lost me money too. Should have gone for both upsets in the second parlay.

Simple parlay today. Liverpool should still edge this, I'm going big on today's game as our 1st teamsters aren't all featuring but we should still benefit from Fabinho, Matip, Gomez!

Game 1: Real Valladolid-Real Madrid. Madrid WIN @1.44. Sportsbet odds: 1.43
Game 2: Inter Milano-Cagliari. Inter WIN @1.32. Sportsbet odds: 1.30
Game 3: Napoli-Juventus. Juve WIN @2.08. Sportsbet odds: 2.04
Game 4: Shrewsbury Town-Liverpool. Liverpool WIN @1.37. Sportsbet odds: 1.35

@Trofo. Good call. I lost thanks to Newcastle, but haven't learnt my lesson so putting in Liverpool today with 3 other legs in La Liga and Serie A. Handball? I gotta admit, I have no idea what that is =p

@toke Yes, 4/1. Paddy Power, thought I mentioned: It was 9/2 when I wrote that (4.5) so I gave 4/1.

Betfair was also 9/2 (4.5).

I actually believe Trofo's right and judging from Klopp's past decisions, he is pragmatic to a fault. He totally abandoned League Cup when we played our kids against Aston Villa, and IF we win the League early, he'll want to ensure full fitness and freshness for CL so he will play a lot of rotation in the remaining EPL games.

I HOPE he doesn't though, because I agree players need to be fresh but at the same time for a team like Liverpool, the more they play together, the better their linkup and that's almost 100% how we win games because we're getting better playing with each other.

You want 3/1 from me? Come on =p let's have fair odds;)
11126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: January 26, 2020, 10:05:51 AM
@rdbase, yeah, looks like I would have been behind already anyway due to picking Schalke, so I'm "glad" I didn't participate and lose 85 cents haha.

Anyway yeah it does look like majority of people went for favourites, hence the 18 people tied for 8 picks. How many people here agree with morvillz and think there'll be over 10 people sharing the prize? Still a lot of money though!

Don't forget our poker guys, if any of you from here signed up!
11127  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [SERVICE]PresenceUP- AI will write comments and articles for blockchain project on: January 25, 2020, 11:20:24 PM
My experience says every single one of these automated engagement bots are instantly recognisable to me. And I'm not even a native English speaker. But from the samples you submit, they at least do look like they're relevant (which is the number 1 stumbling block with automated response).

I'd be interested in how this performs for LinkedIn. The idea for me isn't to fake comments or responses, but to provide a quick interim response TO comments so that the commenter doesn't have to wait for the actual admin to awake and respond. Think your bot could handle that (responding to comments on LinkedIn)? If so, I'd like to test. It should only respond on certain keywords though, crypto/blockchain and variations of it and not responding on comments like "You're right" or "I agree"...
11128  Economy / Speculation / Re: Start buying on: January 25, 2020, 10:33:08 PM
You may think I am crazy to buy when the price is going down but in reality nobody ever makes money investing into any hype or increase, if you buy something AFTER it goes up 40% then you will lose money, you need to buy it when its at the bottom and I feel like we are at the bottom right now. If it goes under 8k I will sell as well but until that happens I will just keep my bitcoins and keep on buying more until it goes over 8.5k at which point I will stop buying and start looking to sell.

I don't think that at all. I do think you're crazy to make your buys like trading. Timing and predicting is basically what traders spend a lot of time on, so unless you're trading, you really will get it wrong as many times as you get it right. I personally also time a little, but since I have to make the sell (or get the coin) regularly, I end up average costing it. Looking back at my funny attempt to time buys when price is down and sells when price is up, I've probably ended making more or less the same had I NOT timed it.

But wait, you will SELL if it goes under 8k? That's... opposite to what you've been saying.

Hey guys! Just wanted to check with you here a few things. I know there's support I can ask but again this is feedback, not exactly a problem but:

1. Since you've updated, I haven't been able to access any of my old betslips. You have said I can ask support to check for me, but the point is, I run a daily thread where many of my betslips are on Betcoin. To prove I actually bet on the odds I claim, I post a betslip so people can verify I did actually place a bet at the odds I publish. This was one of the great things about betcoin, but now, all the old betslips don't show up. Is there a way to bring that back?

2. Where did dice go? =)
11130  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [2020-01-25] Coinbase's Bitcoin Holdings Could Surpass 1 Million BTC Next Month on: January 25, 2020, 04:25:56 PM
Add that to BitGo's supposed 20% of all Bitcoin tx (their own claim in 2019) and Xapo all having supposedly massive undisclosed amounts sitting quietly in offline vaults and we've got 2 big holders of Bitcoin (on behalf of customers anyway). Both promise it's all safe and insured but yeah I'd love to see what happens if the US does what it always does OR if some other force majeure happens. Because even if insurance kicks in, those actual bitcoin could be lost permanently.
11131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: January 25, 2020, 03:06:23 PM
Christ guys, I just checked and saw I totally forgot to put my bets on last night. I always remember Thu/Fri and in my brain, I thought I already did my picks so was happy to see Dortmund and Milan win -- then to check now and realise I totally imagined placing my bets. Funny how brains work damn it.

So if the upsets I picked happen, I'm going to be rather upset: Schalke, Lille, Napoli. I'll still be happy if even one of them win of course, since all have odds that'll put me in profit but still!
11132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinNews.com's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 25, 2020, 11:20:54 AM
@hilarious The Watford jersey is truly a collector's item IMO, for precisely the reason you mentioned. I was really lucky to get two of them, and they actually are quite well made. Anyone wanting it should watch out for the Sportsbet random bitcointalk only giveaways I've seen them throw in a jersey or two for those who even don't win but try.

@BitcoinSupremo I remember last season someone making 6 exact scores! And even they didn't win anything from Superbru cause someone else on the site got 7! And if I recall correctly in the very first week last season, someone won 10k for guessing 9 exacts!

You guys watching FA Cup action? I'm torn between betting on one or two upsets but I already put a 4-leg Premier League parlay down.
11133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +26077 units on: January 25, 2020, 10:45:48 AM
Well the run had to end, didn't it? But that was a great January 2020, really! Didn't even watch the game but the Russians had in 2-0 well before half time. Irish league quality never really cuts it does it?

Anyway, FA Cup returns, so we go for a 4-leg parlay on the favourites. I know. I know. FA Cup magic and all that but these teams have mainly all rested!

Game 1: Hull City-Chelsea. Chelsea WIN @1.51. Sportsbet odds: 1.49
Game 2: Brentford FC-Leicester City. Foxes WIN @1.70. Sportsbet odd: 1.65
Game 3: Millwall FC-Sheffield United. Blades WIN @2.28. Sportsbet odds: 2.26
Game 4: Newcastle United-Oxford United. Toons WIN @1.57. Sportsbet odds: 1.58
100 units parlay at Betcoin @9.1888. Sportsbet parlay @8.7788

Odds advantage: 4.67%
Units advantage: 41 units

Edit: Adding an Aussie upset in the U23 (I think the bookies have the odds wrong) to another Russian friendly (Ufa) who should beat a poor Polish side.
Game 1:  Ufa vs Slask Wroclaw. Ufa WIN @1.70. Sportsbet odds: 1.71
Game 2: Australia vs Uzbekistan. Aus WIN @3.77. Sportsbet odds: 3.56
100 units parlay at Betcoin @6.409. Sportsbet parlay @6.0876

Odds advantage: 5.28%
Units advantage: 32.14 units

Running advantage after 241 bets: +4,110.33 (+73.14)
All-time cumulative: +26,109.86
Running units after 239 bets (45W|194L): +13,389.19 (-100 units)
11134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Peter Schiff's Bitcoin wallet mystery is solved on: January 25, 2020, 09:44:57 AM
he doesn't know the difference between a pin and a password, because Gold doesn't have it.
https://twitter.com/PeterSchiff/status/1220803298447495175
Peter Schiff and I can access his Gold without a private key.

Not really. He probably doesn't own any actual gold, just like most Bitcoin investors probably don't actually own their actual private key. What they own is some certificate that promises them they will be able to redeem it for the equivalent in gold (or bitcoin). To be fair, it does seem pretty safe to pay a bit more to have someone else take care of your gold/btc, and at the same time sleep in the assurance that if anything happens to it, you're insured (then again, that insurance itself is also a promise!).
11135  Economy / Marketplace / Re: "The Finders" A Finders Fee Group on: January 24, 2020, 01:52:55 PM
Most probably this method is meant to be for the privacy issue, as the KYC is mandatory in most platforms.
Another reason could be, for those peoples who move large amounts, maybe corporates, maybe terrorists or maybe money launderers those who need more & more privacy... not sure tho.

There is LocalCryptos to avoid KYC but I guess volume could be an issue.
Thats definitely the reason why would other people would really be interested into this idea.Just like on my local board where you do have finders fee
if you do able to find some buyers of said sellers. They've done it thru p2p transaction and of course that would be on lower than on market price
and usually these kind of transactions are for bulk ones.

To my understanding, those who want major volumes at rates under the market go established OTC -- trusted custodials with a reputation and even insurance. I can't see them coming here to look for a lot of unknown variables and discuss such transactions in a public space.

Much less so if KYC's a concern for them. They'd definitely just seek out an offshore OTC via a trustee. OR just go Bisq and the like, P2P with escrow and no KYC. Volume is an issue solvable very quickly if price is below market.

Edit: Firmino literally just scored:

They can't stop winning  Cheesy. Five mins to go now and I wonder if there'll be any cards for Liverpool time wasting  Cheesy. Bus is going to be well and truly parked now.

From 0 points to 3 to you too for picking 2-1! And I went from 1.5 to 1 when I changed 2-0 to 3-0 haha but I'm happy either way. This was the Liverpool that kept snatching points in the final 10 minutes before Alisson came back in and started us on our clean sheet streak. But Traore continues to put me in awe. Sorry Robbo but he got the better of you like almost every single time. Damn that beast!

This team is out of this world, they could lose 5 games in a row and they'll still be league leaders!

They could lose 6 games in a row actually, including the one in hand now against West Ham, and still lead by 1 point... assuming City win all the next 5, which they won't =p

4/1 Liverpool unbeaten all season in EPL at Paddy Power... @toke want to take me against that? I'll be happy to take 35/10?Wink $10 right?
11137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +26036 units on: January 24, 2020, 10:17:57 AM
Terrible letdown from all the favourites. I knew Watford would be resting a lot of players but well done Tranmere ANYWAY. Here's to you going on to beat Man Utd. There's no better time to do it.

With the win at Wolves we push our earlier parlay's 2nd leg, but still turn a tiny profit, so we actually add to our balance after last night. Well done, meself.

Champions of Ireland vs falling giant of Russia, what do you think? It's only a friendly;)

11138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Selling milk tea for Bitcoin on: January 24, 2020, 08:35:21 AM
Hey cheez! Totally reminds me of chaiwala business but I guess in PH things work differently! It's super, super cool to see something like this and I hope something comes out of it? I tell you what, I don't know if you will be successful in getting more bitcoin payments, but I know that the media people there would definitely want to feature a bitcoin chaiwala -- maybe even fintech publications and all that. Whatever the outcome, you should milk that publicity and at the very least get people talking about btc.

Do consider a form of lightning payments too. I suspect a cup of tea needs Lightning.

When and if it happens, let me know, I'll give you a small share of bitcoin coverage. I like these sorts of things.
11139  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Main Club Partner of Watford FC ⚽ Fun. 🏀 Fast. 🎾 Fair. 🏆 on: January 24, 2020, 07:28:23 AM
@efialtis and cryptofrka: I am full of appreciation for older people playing good football. BTW I'm not so much into flicks and juggling and all that. I'm much much more into direct physical aggression, and athleticism. So, like swivelling, half volleys (though bicycle kicks not really unless it's while running and then having to turn to the ball)... I played a lot of street football too so you appreciate the moves from older, streetwise players. Suarez reminds me a lot of the style I like, but Salah style as well with backs defending ball a lot, or even Mane and Firmino taking on direct dribbling. Firmino's flicks are often more effective too, rather than just flamboyant with no purpose, so I love everything he does.

Sorry, went a bit off topic there haha.

@boltz: Wolves were always a tough opponent so I'm totally not surprised at all a lot of people went for the upset.

@Slow Death and morvillz shame they didn't meet United as they would have easily won THAT one. Just to note though that very few senior players started the gameor on the bench (2 or 3?), so clearly Watford do want to focus on the league... The bench didn't even have Doucoure, Mariappa, Sarr, Deeney, Deulofeu, not even Pepe Reina, who's the backup for Ben Foster... this loss was not a surprise. They'll do better in the next league games no worry.
11140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to my two Bitcoins (just for example) if I lose my security key? on: January 24, 2020, 06:07:30 AM
A digital commodity that is already scarce, with a finite number already hard coded into the system, becomes even scarcer. As pointed out by pooya though, I've never really bought the scarcity impact from bitcoins lost or taken out of circulation. If we believe the stats from custodial services like BitGo who between them keep a huge portion of the total existing supply, and we believe Glassnode stats that show people have been holding more and holding longer, than we should be seeing scarcity impact like no other.

But because 1 BTC is 100 million units called satoshi, and with Lightning theoretically each of those satoshi can even be divided, then we don't worry if we can only get 1 btc or 1 satoshi down the line, we'll always divide into subunits (and rising price will even allow for that, to the time we stop comparing it in USD value).
