Sorry for the delay. The winner is Bitcoin Explorer. PM is sent.
11162  Economy / Services / Re: Up to 0.035 BTC weekly for YOUR SIGNATURE *New rules on: March 06, 2015, 02:41:09 PM
Anything changed with payments? I received exactly 10 times less than i think i should have received. Thanks

Yes. Rules have changed.

This are the new rules that Bitmixer added very recently :

- We don't pay for posts less than 75 symbols length.
- We don't pay for posts in Off-topic / Games and rounds / Alternate cryptocurrencies and this thread.

That explains it. Although payment should have been the same for posts until rules changed.

There is nothing you can do about it.

People were spamming everywhere with very short posts in order to get paid.

Bitmixer had to make the rules active immediately.
11163  Economy / Economics / Re: Banks are Pigs on: March 06, 2015, 02:36:17 PM
I'm about to pay an invoice for a domain. It cost $10/ year but the bank take $7.5 in transfer fee.
75% in fee Huh That is ridiculous and this is why Bitcoin will succeed in the long run.

Transfer your domain to Namecheap if it's not there already. And enjoy paying with Bitcoin.

$7,50 in fees is beyond insane for only a $10 transaction.

I would ring them up and tell them to put that $7,50 there where the sun doesn't shine.
11164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trojan targetting bitcoin! on: March 06, 2015, 02:27:35 PM
Password protect your wallet. Or save your coins on some trusted exchanger site.

This is horrible advice. Offline storage is the best option.

Never save your coins online with any service or exchange. And if you do make sure you store a very little amount in wallet sites.

People just need to stop with downloading and installing crap because it says "100% working Bitcoin generator!"
11165  Economy / Speculation / Re: [Poll] What would you like to see on a new exchange? on: March 06, 2015, 02:20:10 PM
Beside security and everything else, I rather see the current exchanges collaborate on working on having a single orderbook.

Current exchange orderbooks are nothing more than a joke. It will result in something that many people are looking for. Stability.

11167  Economy / Speculation / Re: dump is happening on: March 05, 2015, 10:04:31 PM
Heres that long awaited correction of the ongoing price increase, it was bound to happen.
Where do you think the floor will be, i assumed all along it should be @~240-250$

cheers

There had to be some sort of a dump. Only not sure if that would make it go down to ~$240

I guess we will see the price move slowly to around ~$325-$350 in the comming months.
11168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's Bitcoin's biggest problem on: March 05, 2015, 09:51:00 PM
I think bitcoin's biggest problem, more so down the road, is single people or small groups of people having crazy amounts of coin in their personal control.

What's the difference with our current world economy where the rich hold nearly all the wealth. There is no difference.

This is not likely going to change. At some point Bitcoin will be in the hands of rich corporations, banks, etc if it happens to go mainstream.

In a nutshell : Not a problem at all.
11169  Economy / Auctions / 10 domains auction. on: March 05, 2015, 02:36:03 PM
I'm looking to get rid of some domains that I don't plan to use.
I will not sell single domains. Domains will be sold as pack of 10.

# Registrar : Namecheap
# Expiry : All domains have at least 8 months before expiry
# Start bid : $5 for the whole pack
# Minimum bid increments : $1
# Buy now : PM me
# Auction duration : 24 hours after last bid
# WhoisGuard included.
# Escrow possible. I prefer devthedev, monbux

Only Bitcoin as payment is accepted. Bitstamp will be used as source for pricing.

By placing a bid you agree with :

# Winner of the auction pays first.
# Transaction must be completed in less than 24 hours.
# Private bidding is not accepted.
11170  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin dead? on: March 05, 2015, 02:19:07 PM
Don't be too greedy and trying to manipulate the price OP

Meh, no interest in crap like that. The only bitcoins I ever got were a few back when you could mine profitably with GPUs, and a few more in exchange for services. Never bought any with real money and don't plan to. What I am interested in is if anyone serious still sees a future in bitcoin, and if so, what they're reasons might be. That's why I started this thread.

I believe in Bitcoin because it makes me the owner, and I mean the only owner of my money.

No one can tell me what to do with it, how to spend it, and how much I can spend.

Where can you send $100,000,000 for just $0.04 in fees? Can you tell me?  Wink

And don't forget the endless possibilities of the blockchain and the network power behind it.
11171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Core 0.10.0 starts very slow. on: March 05, 2015, 02:07:21 PM
How long does it usually take for the wallet to open if opened the first time of the day?
Depends on the hardware. On a fast desktop with a SSD, a 60+MB wallet full startup with default settings is under 20 seconds.

Hardware is quite decent. I can only dream of having Bitcoin Core start under 60 seconds.

Is it also possible that switching wallet files could cause the wallet to open very slow?

But then again, it still should start within a few minutes.

Just stopped the time. The system is 5-6 years old and the bottle neck is the HDD. The CPU still has capacity left and launching bitcoin core/qt took a little less than 53,128 seconds.

Its set to check the last 24 blocks at default checklevel.

I think the problem is as good as solved. I can only hope it will stay like this.

Today the wallet managed to open in less than 60 secons. 47 seconds to be precise.
11172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Alert!!! Auction Again!!! What do you think? on: March 05, 2015, 01:58:28 PM
There is nothing special about it. It's exactly the same as previous auctions.

Not sure why some people get excited over nothing.

The only one who benefits from it are the people who get a lot coins for just one price at the auction.
11173  Economy / Speculation / Re: Fair Price of Bitcoin: $518? on: March 04, 2015, 02:28:48 PM
Bitcoin isn't undervalued at all at this point.

Bitcoin is a free market, no matter how many formulas and calculations you throw at it, it are the whales, pools and for a part we that decide the price.

After everything that has happened this year it is safe to say that we are heading towards a price that we agree with that this is the right price now.
11174  Other / Off-topic / Re: General Football Discussion on: March 04, 2015, 02:22:12 PM
The race to get a top 4 finish is now looking exciting. 5 teams for the last two spots and all 1 point behind their previous team (48/47/46/45/44). Arsenal and Liverpool have gone in form at the correct time and are my picks to get into Champions League.

It's a very exciting fight, indeed.

However, I think United will lose the fight in the comming matches and lose more space.

I find it hard to believe they can get their hands on a Champions League ticket.

Looking likely now, their fixtures are brutal. Arsenal and Liverpool are going to get the last two spots.

Yeah, and also, when United faces Arsenal or Liverpool now, they won't get away with a lucky win this time.

United currently is nothing more than an average team with a few big names. That's it.

I have 1 BTC to INvest

what is best place to invest With 5% Risk?

Give your answer

You having 1BTC is already an investment.

Why risking to lose money for a tiny bit of profit. It's just not worth it.

Keep it in your wallet and you don't have to worry about anything.
11177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Android Pay. on: March 03, 2015, 01:22:03 PM
These althernative payment options from Apple, Samsung and Google are nothing more than a battle between the three tech giants.

I'm wondering how many people will really use these options, and if so, for how long.
11178  Other / Off-topic / Re: General Football Discussion on: March 03, 2015, 01:10:01 PM

11179  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-03-02] Banks are changing their opinion about cryptocurrencies on: March 03, 2015, 01:05:18 PM
This story is all spin.  Banks still have literally years of backlog projects before they will consider something as small as bitcoin.

Bitcoin itself isn't something most banks look out for. They are interested in the blockchain technology.

But before they adopt the blockchain as technology we might not enjoy it for at least 5 years.

Imagine not having to wait for a bank transaction from country to country. Every bank transaction in potential could post instantly.
11180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Core 0.10.0 starts very slow. on: March 03, 2015, 12:55:17 PM
Thank you for explaining everything in fine detail.

I have done everything you stated, and it is starting faster already, although I'm not sure how long it will stay like this.

At this point it takes around 5 minutes for it to start which is a decent improvement.

How long does it usually take for the wallet to open if opened the first time of the day?
