11165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: February 05, 2021, 08:38:59 PM
That was a pretty good week.  I have still yet to win at the shuffle.

So now that Doge has been making a big run it has been on CNBC a lot.  Am I the only one who pronounces Doge like Dog E instead of how they pronounce it on CNBC which is Doge' a little more of a soft g almost French sounding.

I was able to put orders in for a few cards at retail this week.  An asus tuff 3070 and an evga xc3 ultra on Amazon both have shipping dates as of right now the last week of February.  Hopefully they ship sooner.

A gigabyte Aorus Master 3070 and a 3080 Vision from B&H Photo.  They shipped the 3070 and it gets here Monday.  The Vision says backordered but I am hoping that is just them catching up from the snow storm.

I will likely switch the 3070 coming in Monday with a 5700 on my 6 gpu rig.  This will leave me with 5 more cards to switch to 3000 series.  I sold a MSI 5700 and a MSI 5600xt for a bit over what i paid for 2 3060 ti's from best buy.

I have about 600 mhs on eth now and would like to add another rig in the house but I'm trying to be disciplined and stick to the plan I laid out a few weeks ago.

slow and steady is the way to go here.  I have a 3070 coming.  I will put it with the 3090.

I have good amount hashing now.

eth is 11.44 cents a mh crazy high pay out .

but innosilicon is making ASICs

the a10 with 6gh is 500 mh at 950w  for sale as I type and hash rate is rising.

If we new how much they will put out we would know if we go from 368 to 400th or from 368 to 500th

other than no resale value they are better than gpus for mining eth.  So they may kill off the mining with too much hash.

philipma1957 please follow the thread.

I do follow the thread I am converting my Doge into BTC which is my ultimate goal growing BTC

I never mentioned my stacking of my doge in 2018 2019 2020 in this thread until now (2021)
that I am selling it at profit to convert to BTC and fiat.

 I am following the thread.

My position on coins is very simple

BTC is king.

LTC and DOGE have function and will continue to have function if you have cheap power they will allow you to stack BTC

All pos coins = bad.

eth is bad 1 boss = bad.
11167  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Altcoin's loss become Bitcoin's gain? on: February 05, 2021, 06:46:39 PM
Today the crypto market has behaved in a wierd manner wherein we have seen bloodbath for some altcoins like doge, trx and all wherein other altcoins like XLM and XRP has performed well. When the altcoin goes into red then the users usually transfers their funds from altcoin to either a stable coin or bitcoin. Since Bitcoin is in the verge of further pump users would prefer Bitcoin as the most suitable alternative for their funds, by this way it's bitcoin's gain isn't it?

no. the BTC dominance is very large.

BTC Cap          $702,365,327,536
Market Cap:  $1,162,854,357,317

so about 460,000,000,000 in all the other coins.

the bounce back from alts to BTC never helps a large amount since there is far less in the alts.

For BTC to whale it needs Gold's money

https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-has-actually-only-taken-2-of-gold-market-cap-new-data-suggests

if 98% of the money is gold
and 2% of the money is BTC

then a 10% shift from gold to BTC is big.
11168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Asic LINZHI 2600 Mh/s on: February 05, 2021, 04:58:57 PM
Well eth price rises and eth fees also rise.

but the hash rate is now over 368th.

11169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Know ,How long the asic have been working? on: February 05, 2021, 04:45:35 PM
So how to tell a used btc miner has been miss used and damaged by previous owner.

Well does it work to spec when you get it.
What return policy does the seller have?

Buying used gear is risky if you pay with btc or any crypto maybe they will give a 1 or 2 day return policy.

So hope it works well use a seller that has a good rep.

I am not selling any gear at the moment i have a good rep but if I sell a used s9 I only give the buyer 2 days to check it out . Most sellers of used gear do not give a warranty.

If they sell here on bitcointalk.org you can read their trust.

This shows my business deals

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=64507

it is very good one of the best on this site.

As I said I am not selling to you or anyone at the moment I am simply showing you ways to check on people .
11170  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 05, 2021, 04:38:14 PM

Don't get me wrong I'm happy to be wrong. Just a frustrating market for hodling with constant dumps on every rise and  other coins mooning everywhere.

Wtf.... most weird and complete OFF post I have read the last days...

I'm just getting sad in advance, we'll be at 35,000 and doge will be at a dollar and I'll still be a brokedummy
Don't worry bro ,  we are on track and I'm happy with even 100k by the EOY.

Doge and Elon did very well for me I now like them both.
11171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Old gen core series works for mining? on: February 05, 2021, 04:07:03 PM
I have quite a few g3900 intel cpu's with 2gb sticks of ddr3 ram that work fine running smos.

That is 3rd gen

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qtw5kw5FKpI

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMiByCbUpTY

some rigs with the g3900
11172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Motherboard wattage consumptions on: February 05, 2021, 03:58:35 PM
BTW, here are a few things you can do to reduce mobo power consumption.
1.If Intel cpu, then you should be able to undervolt the cpu.  My Has(h)well cpus are happy with 75-100mV undervolt of both core,  cache and graphics sub-unit.  You can dl the Intel XTU for this.
2.Install only one stick of RAM.  Any dual RAM module setup will likely double the RAM power consmp.
3.Disable serial and parallel port in BIOS.
4.Disable any mobo RGB
5.Avoid HDD, use SSD or USB

above is good for a strict mining rig.

but if you use the rig for other purposes you may need 2 sticks of ram.
11173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX Vega 56 & 64 on: February 05, 2021, 03:55:02 PM
+1
Never trust the bullshit watt that can be displayed
RX 580 reported @70W ?
Vega @100W ?

Nope !!! From experience and Wattmeter to the wall
RX 580 ~100-110W
Vega ~140-145W
What? My RX580 8gb is pulling 89 - 90 watts and that's a fact, I mean it's measured and correct, all I did was lower core voltage like some advice and it works, maybe you should try that too to see for yourself

Did you turn off rig :

1)remove the card  from the rig use your cpu's integrated gpu and get a k-watt meter reading at the plug?
2) add the card to rig set it up mining use your cpu's integrated gpu and get a k-watt meter reading at the plug?

did one reading say 200 watts or what ever
second reading say 290 watts or what ever

above is proper way to know what your card does mining

and of course check hash rate at the pool not the gui as the pool is the one that pays the money.
11174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Desperate situation with my rig, can't see any solution!! on: February 05, 2021, 03:49:01 PM

last of the threads.

I was pretty angry about the april fools joke last year and deleted most of this thread.

Looking back at that action I regret I did it.

I now have my 8 older threads all in time order.

I may ask loyce if he has records on this thread. And try to restore it.
