1124  Economy / Speculation / 3AC Founders Missing- MT GOX Distribution- New Bear Market Bottom Nearing? on: July 12, 2022, 06:05:44 PM
Hey peeps,

Anyone have any interesting theories about the owners of 3AC and how they went missing? These guys vanish as they are going into bankruptcy. Were they abducted by unfavorable investors who wanted their heads? Did they flee with what they had leftover to some private island somewhere on the globe? Nobody knows.

This also brings about more questions, once they liquidate of all 3AC's bitcoin & crypto they held how will this affect the market?? Also the MT. GOX funds have been found and apparently the ones who lost their coins will get a portion back. Will they sell or hold? They have a lot of bitcoin too that could really mess with the price point. Honestly I'm just interested to hear everyone's thoughts on all those pointers.

Should we be transferring into a stable coin right now just in case a new bottom is near? I feel like just HODLing maybe not the right move if you can put into tether or something and then buy back in while we still have the chance to increase your Bitcoin holdings in a few months. My dad got out at 35k and has been holding a bag since just waiting for re-entry. I always time things bad and of course I wish I unloaded at 69k haha.Wishful thinking will unfortunately never do anything so I continue to do what I know how to do best, hold onto my sats! Sitting on my hands.

Anyways, not related to this post but I caught 3 peacock bass this morning and one cat fish after a hot tub sesh and I feel amazing. Hope everyone has a great day, too!  Grin

Best,

1125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Go and get your coin!!!! on: July 12, 2022, 05:53:12 PM
More of a motivational post FYI. This is a call to action for all those who have been sitting by wasting time, including myself. There is a whole world out there to conquer! Bitcoin runs 24/7! There is no time to be wasted, no stone to leave unturned! When you do something do it with your whole being so that you are fulfilled with satisfaction and can see the success that is just beyond that next hurdle!
Each person's reality is different from each other, so we can't really compare ourselves, but it's an undeniable fact bitcoin is an opportunity for anyone to start earning and profiting, doesn't matter how much they have to invest and how skilled they are. Even a poor man without any pennies on his pocket can adopt bitcoin by doing micro online tasks to be rewarded with BTC and start holding his first satoshis, which will rise a lot in value futurely.

Indeed, there is no time to be wasted, and every satoshis count. It's during the bearish seasons the preparation is made, so you can harvest the fruits on the next bullish season. And it must be kept in mind the tallest buildings start with a single brick, which have to be solid and placed with constance and persistence, one by one, by the builder.

Indeed, great comment here, love it. You really got the message that I was trying to bring about though this rant lol. Work hard so you can make more money and spend it on Bitcoin hahahha

Everyone,

More of a motivational post FYI. This is a call to action for all those who have been sitting by wasting time, including myself. There is a whole world out there to conquer! Bitcoin runs 24/7! There is no time to be wasted, no stone to leave unturned! When you do something do it with your whole being so that you are fulfilled with satisfaction and can see the success that is just beyond that next hurdle!

I see too many people slipping and becoming mediocre, I myself feel that I have become less of a go getter and more of a cruiser. My drive before covid was cranked to 100% but it seems like this period of time has fostered a kind of comfort that can only come from working from home and not doing our best but slacking off. I will speak for myself, as I am not sure of all of your habits but I know that I can always be better! I have started going back into my office to make the changes necessary to improve my standings.

Whatever you're looking to do put 1000% I have recently felt convicted of just living my life in a cruise control pattern. Its easy to do that as a Bitcoin HODLER, just sitting, waiting, and watching what happens while we're holding on for dear life. On the other side of this coin the type of resilience we have built up in response to FUD over the past few bear markets having been through all the ups and downs that Bitcoin brings, it also brings a perspective that nothing can really phase us. Am I right?

I'm not sure if anyone else feels that way but I have got to say that if you can stomach all this bitcoin stuff, you can pretty much endure anything that comes your way. You want change? Make it happen for yourself because no one is going to do it for you, nobody will really truly help you to become your best version of yourself, that is on YOU.

Its periods like this that great men are made. When the economy is shit, and politics are haywire, and when there is uncertainty fear and war. Men and Women who have GRIT, who can get down and dirty and put in the tough work and feel the sweat drip from their brow. These individuals are destined for greatness because you can't stop someone who never gives up!

Today I was given a quote by a billionaire:

“Enthusiasm is one of the most powerful engines of success. When you do a thing, do it with all your might. Put your whole soul into it. Stamp it with your own personality. Be active, be energetic, be enthusiastic and faithful, and you will accomplish your object. Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson"

This part where he talks about doing something with all of your might is biblical: Colossians 3:23. If you do something do it with your whole heart. I love this. It is so true and one of the key secrets to success IMO.

That is all, I hope you all strive for greatness today and every day! Be enthusiastic and put your personality and add your own flare and pep to your step. GO AND GET YOUR COIN! This is what I plan to do!

Sincerely,

Nice speech, story, anyway we just have to return to the real discussion about bitcoin, the price is not everything, so for those who ask, it will die!, let's stop proclaiming that bitcoin will return, to hell whether they believe or not, bitcoin is the best cryptocurrency, you are your own bank, among many other things, we talked about that?, that's what you have to tell them.

Hah, thanks. I'm glad so many people have digested this and provided some input as well. By far the best currency and just the fact that you have full control of your keys and nobody can put a stopper on that is reassuring in 2022. Its one thing to have bulky physical assets of value but the salability and independence that you have from BTC is the true proof in the digital pudding. Its one of the only ways that the poor folks in Ukraine were able to flee to safety so fast with their net worth so long as they had crypto, or NFTs etc etc. I guess in this case your Network really is your net worth  Grin Cool

1130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM Installations and Operator Growth 2021-2022- Industry Research on: June 30, 2022, 10:37:09 PM
I don't see this as very bullish. The attraction of ATMs is the non KYC, as they charge high fees and paying those fees with KYC does not make sense.

Seeing that more and more KYC is required, I understand that in the future KYC will be required for any amount, as it already happens in many cases, so I don't see much future for ATMs.

These are good points. Many people stray away from ATM operators that don't have KYC or AML so they are more "under the radar" but all of these operators eventually dissolve at least in the US because the FBI/CIA gets involved and shuts them down. I've seen an article about it recently in NY.

As far as the comment on the lack of a future for ATMs in general if we move away from paper currency you may be right at least with the traditional ATMs, but even those will get replaced to be used with smartphones etc. But Bitcoin ATMs are very advanced touch screens and they can actually adopt other products and services to use them for by using APIs and software which actually might save them in the future if they don't catch on how we think they will. Another piece of market research I saw today said by 2030 they expect the Bitcoin ATM market to increase by 56%

With a share of over 95% in North America, can we even say that something good is happening in the rest of the world?

If this isn't proof of the adoption of Bitcoin then I don't know what is. Mind you this is also a physical presence of Bitcoin at your every day convenience stores which I think is pretty powerful to generating more awareness to the general public and definitely fosters curiosity.

You make a conclusion based on an incomplete picture, because if the number of crypto ATMs on one continent is constantly growing and falling in the rest of the world, it is proof that 95% of the world is actually going backwards in this regard. In addition, awareness is one thing, and buying BTC on such a device is quite another - when people realize that they can buy BTC without a 10% fee, they will certainly no longer use such devices.

Depends on how you look at it, couldn't it equally mean that the rest of the world is falling behind by 95% in the space? The UK actually had around 500-1k before they banned them. And surely ATMs aren't going anywhere. Many of those ISOs and ATM operators are actually just uploading a software from LibertyX or some other company for example and BAM you can buy bitcoin right there on a regular ATM now. Other nations need more regulation and visibility into this and they obviously just haven't done their due diligence like North America has from a legal and regulatory perspective. And like I said some have outright banned them making them very hard to be lucrative if you're running from the law. I can assure you that many of my clients are looking to deploy more and more of these overseas and some of them already have in other countries.

Love it.

Does anyone else think that they should be called as ATC machines?

ATC- All time crypto.  Cheesy

Interesting to see so many players are into this now and they growing the number of machines as well as its availability so that more people can use it with free will.

Crypto currencies definitely need such connectedness outside the blockchain. ATC’ are doing the same.

One of my most hopeful and new clients actually calls their BTMs "AFCs" for Autonomous Financial Centers, and they are placing Bitcoin ATMs in some major retailors this year (That I can't exactly name due to an NDA)!!! They are talking serious numbers!!!!
1134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM Installations and Operator Growth 2021-2022- Industry Research on: June 30, 2022, 10:20:07 PM
The distribution of Crypto ATM shows that America (especially North America) and Europe continents are the most crowded with crypto ATMs. There are very little crypto ATMs in Asia or Africa continents.

Many countries in Asia and Africa continents are mentioned in 2021 global crypto adoption index report from Chainalysis.

I believe the distribution will grow more in these two continents when local regulations are easier for cryptocurrency.

I can tell you with confidence that Cape Town is currently a target market for Bitcoin ATMs. Many other places too, I think honestly the US has just been more on top of it than the rest of the world.
1135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "BSV and Monero are the way, and Craig Wright is Satoshi" on: June 30, 2022, 10:11:34 PM
Yesterday I spoke with my coworkers brother over speaker phone who works for a crypto marketing company. He was convinced that Craig Wright is the actual satoshi and that Bitcoin Satoshi's vision was completely undervalued and that eventually it is going to be the number 1 coin. I just couldn't help but laugh inside my head, but then proceeded to tell him "ya never now maybe you could be right" just for the sake of being polite and not starting an argument lol. I didn't want to be rude, but I do think that this guy was a little crazy. Do people actually think that BSV has potential in the future? I thought we were past that whole fail of a forked BTC coin BSV and also Craig Wright being Satoshi..... LOL asking for a friend...

I'm not sure I even believe this story.  There is so much evidence against Craig at this point, it's beyond clear that he is not satoshi.  In my opinion, there are only 3 reasons why someone would even make that claim.  1)  They are a troll.  2)  They purchased BSV before realizing it was a scam and would rather deny the truth than admit they were scammed.  3)  They think BSV could be manipulated upwards and they could make money from the lie.

The only thing you need to explain to people who think Craig is satoshi is this...  satoshi has a lot of coins.  People thought they could access those coins if they could convince others that Craig was satoshi and then get them to go along with a fork to unlock satoshi's coins and give them to Craig.  It is a grift as clear as day.

I kid you not, this guy was delusional. He even made this statement "Even if Craig lied in his court documents that doesn't mean he isn't Satoshi, you know?" hahahhahahhaha I can't make this stuff up man. Honestly I want to say the youtube account he works for i'll give you a hint it starts with Crypto. That should narrow it down  Wink haha.

I am with you its obviously a scam and the fork was so long ago and Craig Wright is most definitely NOT Satoshi, I can't believe that this guy was so certain on BSV and this false theory. BTC and ETH all the way for me, the only 2 I am really into. I do like me some NFTs but I got lucky and found really good projects that give value. So far the only value Craig Wright has given to crypto is for others to buy in on a really great dip a bear market or so ago, lol.

Yep, North America is the largest player. China is out of question, Russia will probably be open to them soon, other countries I'm not quite sure. But I do have clients that are looking to place some or maybe already have by this point in South Africa.
1138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ATM Installations and Operator Growth 2021-2022- Industry Research on: June 30, 2022, 06:37:04 PM
Great post bud. I see some Bitcoin ATM posts here and there on this website, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything as comprehensive as this in terms of showing ATM growth. Would be great if you could update this post here and there.

Thanks m8! I should also note that the fair majority in this list are mostly US based- but keep in mind that many of the US based companies are currently branching out into other parts of the world, mostly in South America for obvious reasons. I will definitely try to keep this one updated.

Of course! I'm glad to share my findings with the community. It is a stark dominance, much like BTC dominance in the crypto market is basically the USA vs the world in Bitcoin ATMs. Regulators here in the US have made a clear path to becoming an operator so long as they maintain a robust KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) Policy in effect. The hardest thing for an operator a year ago was finding a bank account, so the friendliness of the US banks to crypto companies in the last year have also helped more operators to spring up in USA.

If I remember correctly the US market dominance of crypto ATMs at that time in 2021 was around 60% so we're talking about an almost 28% increase in US dominance since this time a year ago! Incredible.

Man that’s a huge increase ! I’ve just checked the UK list now - only 22 ATMs in the UK , I’m sure there was 500+ last year. When I’ve used ATMs in the Uk in the past there was no KYC/AAML but that was several years ago.
GO USA !!!!

Wow, so that much of a decrease huh. Maybe now there are more strict KYC/AAML and that’s why such a decrease?

Actually the UK ruled them illegal I think late last year or early this year and forced operators to cease operations

Wow ! It’s amazing and very surprising to see this massive increase!!
Thanks for posting OP Smiley

Looking deeper it’s also interesting to see that the VAST majority of Bitcoin ATM machines are in the USA - 87.9%, with Canada being the next highest at 6.3% !!
Is this because there is much more Bitcoin adoption in North America and/or because of regulation/laws?
I believe in the UK you would need an FX license - which involves a lot of paperwork, money and abiding by KYC and AML regulations - a huge drawback.

Is there anyway of knowing the difference between 1yr ago and now, to analyse if the North America percentage  has increased and conversely the “rest of the world” has decreased relatively ? Hmmm - hope this makes sense  Smiley
