1122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | No Premine | DGW | ASIC Resistant on: March 19, 2014, 04:46:19 AM
Hi guys I have a new project that will rock the DRK world https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=521677.new#new I am looking for investors and developers to execute my vision. It will have a impact on the downward trend of DRK and improve stability of price across the exchanges.

Please let us know the details - is it the same as the new BlackCoin pool? We can decide as a community if its something we are willing to support Smiley

Thanks.

Also check out this article - the rise of anonymity is going to be huge...DarkCoin is at the front of the pack...

The crowd funding + anonymity is the same as what we talked about a week or so ago about supporting Snowden or Assange

So here's the plan for development, tell me if this makes sense or not:

1.) Beta V4, V5...  - Large changes that require everyone to upgrade to use DarkSend
2.) Beyond this point, DarkSend is ready for real use and will be available in binary form (closed source still)
3.) Release Candidates - RC1, RC2, etc - I'll be taking bug reports, but these are smaller changes and none of them should require everyone to update
4.) First stable release - I think this stage should also be closed source until we're sure everything is perfect
5.) Public audits, where the closed source is shared with someone who people trust to review DarkSend (I'm not sure who that would be yet)
6.) After all audits pass and we have a real product, opensource

That sounds good... How many more betas do you think? Is there anything we (I mean everyone else, you are the busy one!) can do to help out in the meantime?

This looks great to me as well.

While Evan gets the technical side sorted, we as a community need to get things moving on the marketing side BEFORE the first stable release and public audit. This way the website looks sexy, all the information about the coin is in one place, and we look like an established community/business.

When the media and journalists start investigating they will more likely give us the attention we deserve if everything looks organised and professional.

BTW, the DarkCoin clone, Hirocoin...... a lot of people over there are excited by the fact that it uses X11, and its low power usage.

Clearly a big selling point over here also, but they seem to be doing a good job at marketing the X11.  I see X11 written around the place a lot more than here.  Just a thought Smiley... As it seems that X11 is getting a decent amount of attention now.

I mined Hiro at launch...sold it all last night and snapped up another bag of Dark Smiley
1126  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | No Premine | Hard Fork At 34140 (DGW) on: March 17, 2014, 09:00:15 PM
Already darkcoin forks popping up, if darkcoin wants to be a success there has to be more innovation ^^.

More innovation? You mean like the DGW, that was implemented literally a few minutes ago?

DarkCoin "forks" popping up that don't contain DGW or DarkSend....

More like Litecoin forks with scientific hashing.  Cheesy

AS i sayd, i think darkcoin took a great track, but it has to sustain. There is a very good reason im here now Wink, and its the only alt crypto i ever recognized as worth my time .

I wholeheartedly agree. This can't be the end of the innovation by any means - DRK needs to be understood as THE privacy innovation crypto, and we all need to get behind Evan on that. All these pump-dumpers complaining that "Darksend's never finished" can go hang. Any dev worth the project they're working on knows encryption features are never 100% "done". I'd love to see it to be the first cryptocoin to implement the latest developments in quantum cryptography, or something similarly newsworthy. I have no idea if that's even possible, but we need to shoot for the stars!

Well like I've said before, this is my full time job. After DarkSend is done and opensourced, we'll move on to whatever the community wants. I just want to make a coin to take the 2nd spot, I think we can do it. There's not many coins with a full time dev onboard.

#2 spot! Now that's the kind of ambition I like!

eduffield is different from 99.9% of the other coins "devs".  Most are just a copy and paste, with a few changes to blow rewards and crap.  Full time job, working on it for years, DarkSend, listens to community , clearly a bloody smart guy with huge ambition.  I could go on and on.  But with eduffield, I have supreme confidence in this coin.

Just can't wait for the full DarkSend release!

Almost everybody who holds this coin has and should have confidence, but comments like "750m market cap this year are realistic" are a little exaggerated. Who seriously think that DRK will go beyond $1500. I hope noone is that delusional

I don't know. I can get pretty wacky when I open my dark wallet.

Any chance of a clock timer on the release of DarkSend? I know its probably not the best idea to do a fixed time for release, but it would be nice Grin

haha yeah that would be very nice, but I'm sure it's too hard to pinpoint when it will be ready exactly.  I'm sure it will be released as soon as it's done!

I think we're all like raging bulls all pumped up and anxious to for the release of DarkSend, so we can burst into the ring and get promotion the hell out of this coin and it's features!

I know we can't put a date on it, but I'll be over the moon if we see it by the end of the month!

What is Evan's confidence level with the current rate of development and the previously estimated release date? If he can commit to a certain date, a countdown timer to when DS will go live and then another for code release may very well result in a boost to short term exchange rates.

By the way, does anyone know whether Armory is completing any transactions using DRK at this point?

I am not worried in the slightest about short term exchange rates and don't care about a set release date which will add pressure. I would rather Evan spend the time getting the codebase and everything right before we go live.

I don't care how many beta tests we have as long as once its released and verified by the community there are no show stoppers.

1127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which algorithm you like and what are the advantages? :) on: March 17, 2014, 06:33:22 AM
X11 - DarkCoin...50% cooler and 50% less power than scrypt, which is better for the environment Smiley. 280x mines it at around 2.1mh/s

Combines the power of 11 hashing algorithms to make it resistant to ASIC.
1128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ** UNDERRATED ALT-COINS ** on: March 16, 2014, 11:01:58 PM
Only need to list one - DarkCoin

1129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Hirocoin - X11 Next Gen Crypto Currency - Launch Now - Start Mining on: March 15, 2014, 01:31:30 PM
I agree, a ninja launch with a purposely low diff , without even a pool at launch only benefits those able to insta-mine it the most and is far from a fair launch,

And a hyped pre-announced launch benefits those few individuals with megafarms. I'm just glad there are both kinds of launches.

wrong... pre announced has no favourites. This has left it open for the devs to instamine 1000's of blocks which they have done.

You can not have non announced launches on 0.000000000001 diff.

proof or gtfo...
1130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Hirocoin - X11 Next Gen Crypto Currency - Launch Now - Start Mining on: March 15, 2014, 01:27:45 PM
This is the fairest and smoothest launch I have been apart of
1131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hiroscam - X11 Next Gen Crypto Currency - Launching now while u sleep lol on: March 15, 2014, 01:19:58 PM
Lol, missing the release is serious problem...thank you that inform us, we are so sad about you.

don't be sad scammer.... i'm doing fine.... i like highlighting scams i find it entertaining.

Lol, everyone who mine this is a scammer, right?!  Smiley

are you a complete fucking moron???

let me explain it to you again dipshit.

You can not have devs ninja launching because there is nothing to stop them instamining 1000's of blocks without competition. There are no other miners around. Do you get it now???

If you don't get that now, there is nothing more i can do to help you.

Like I said in the other thread, there are plenty of people in other parts of the world. It was prime time on a Saturday for China for example. Get over yourself...

Obviously he thinks the world revolves around HIM....and that he should have had someone at his doorstep to hold his hand through the entire process of announcing the coin at least 2 years before.

Gotta love the trolling by crypto hunter...always a good laugh....
1134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Hirocoin - X11 Next Gen Crypto Currency - Launch Now - Start Mining on: March 15, 2014, 12:43:37 PM
HiroS, you need to update your difficulty adjustment algorithm to the Darkcoin fixed KGW algo. There are a lot of exploits that can be performed on KGW that cannot be on the Darkcoin fork.

Agreed - you should implement Dark Gravity Wave - the source code has been released on the DarkCoin thread.
1135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Hirocoin - X11 Next Gen Crypto Currency - Launch Now - Start Mining on: March 15, 2014, 12:39:32 PM
I'm interested in buying 100k HIC for 1.6BTC a time. Please send me a PM.

wow.. dev believes in his coin!

he probably have 1M ready to be dumped

100 sat per HIC with a total of 672 million seems realistic. EMC2 went as high as 2200 sat at launch for a 300 MIL scrypt coin.

Yeah that was a fair launch not instamine raped by the devs for hours... this shit should be 0 sat
I agree, a ninja launch with a purposely low diff , without even a pool at launch only benefits those able to insta-mine it the most and is far from a fair launch,

LOL yeah with most of the US sleeping and EUROPE just about to wake up..........PLANNED SCAM......

Probably agro that this coin's hash rate is already almost double of his beloved shitcoin(Bee Coin)....a coin launches when it launches...you snooze, you lose
1136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Hirocoin - X11 Next Gen Crypto Currency - Launch Now - Start Mining on: March 15, 2014, 10:02:21 AM

Have to say I like this launch. Haven't seen one without major drama/total fail in quite awhile.

Well done sir!!!
I must say, gotta love the DarkCoin X11 kernel. 2.5x the hash compared to scrypt and yet runs 20C cooler!

If you look at your power usage, it uses roughly 40-50% less power than standard scrypt too...it really is the best algo out there!
1137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Hirocoin - X11 Next Gen Crypto Currency - Launch Now - Start Mining on: March 15, 2014, 09:59:46 AM
Applause goes to the developer - so far this coin launch is smooth as possible  Smiley
