Are you fucking serious? Go fuck yourself you rich elitist prick.

Have a cup of concrete and harden the fuck up you pussy.
.

You wanna fight prick?

ExpedientSlush whilst I and no doubt many others feel your pain, your issue is not that you bought $3000 worth of dark at BTC .018, it's your attitude. You get on here angry as hell and just blurt out venom on everyone because you're so pissed at how things have turned out. The sad thing is that if DRK had gone to .036 you'd most likely be sounding off at the mouth about what a clever fellow you are and telling all your friends how you've "doubled your money..." yada, yada. And then you're likely to take an even bigger gamble on some other coin because someone's told you it's a "dead cert winner" and your $6000 is then likely to turn into $1000 or less and you'll be in angry pissed-off territory again.

You've put your self into a highly volatile, high risk, non regulated investment environment. What were you really expecting, just gains, gains and more gains? Darklord has so rightly pointed out, you MUST do research before even thinking about dipping your toe into this world.

But the good news is you've bought a coin that clearly has the potential to be the game changer of game changers. All you need to do is fix your attitude, have a bit of patience and work on sorting out other parts of your life so you're not so dependent on Crypto going to the moon. The market fo rthsi stuff is what it is....I'm sitting on way bigger losses than you and kicking myself for having bought a substantial portion of my DRK holdings at even higher than 0.18. But it was MY decision and I'm living with it.

We, on here are not all rich, we are not all elitist (actually I wouldn't think any are). We're all people that are looking for new ways and means to create value and earn. You need to take responsibility for YOUR decisions and grow up (like, urgently).
1122  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | RC4 Testing on: July 25, 2014, 11:29:46 PM
right guys as rc4 is nearing an end and hopefully all goes well, drk will become the only true anon coin.
I feel we should have a two pronged media campaign

1- we should start preparing adverts, posters, videos etc ,lets  promote what drk does that no other coin can do.
2- we should raise awareness of btc flaws like how easy your btc address can show your balance to the world and soon link it to your ip address. its like have your bank balance on display for everyone to see with your postcode below. But do it nicely ,we dont want make btc look bad,lol

we should only use 100% facts to prevent troll attacks.
If we start now we can have somethings ready for people who hold drk to use to pass on the message...that drk is the ultimate coin. ;-)

Let me pretty up the thread again.  Grin

Maybe I suck, but let's see what you can do before you start bitchin' Wink

You don't suck lonecrouton; you're putting ideas forward and that's great.

Can you tell me though, on your 3rd image where you're saying DarkCoin is private, Bitcoin is not, you have a pile of gold bars on the right but what is that supposed to be on the left with the question mark over it?
1123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | RC4 Testing on: July 25, 2014, 04:07:27 AM
ARE YOU FUCKING CUNTS RETARDED STOP FUCKING SELLING YOU GOD DAMN PIECES OF FUCKING SHIT I SWEAR TO FUCKING GOD. FUCKING CUNTS EAT SHIT FUCK YOURSELVES. FUCKING HOLD MORONS GOD FUCKING DAMMIT.

and

fuck this shit i cant take this price bleed anymore

to all you sellers i hope you fucking die, pieces of shit fuck yourselves and the money you cost me cunt pieces of shit FUCKING CUNTS

Mate, if it's too hot in the kitchen, get out. It's a market. People are absolutely within their rights to buy, sell or hold. You're not the only one experiencing heavy losses at the current price, but that's the nature of this game. Your extraordinary outbursts aren't going to help one little bit.

Cheesy Grin Im in the Masternode Club !!!  Cheesy Grin yay!!

I would like to share the experience with you.

I was set on not going the easy route and opting for a Amazon node, So I downloaded Linux VM for the first time and spent hours just staring at the terminal, not knowing how to open directories even  Undecided

To say that i'm a Linux noob is a gross understatement, Linux Retard is more descriptive of my command line abilities  Cheesy

I was clawing my way through ssh certificates tutorial and spending ridiculous amount of time trying to figure it all out.

I almost lost my pride and went quickly through the Amazon tutorial that seemed to make allot more sense than the blank screen of the terminal. Stuck on something trivial I went to the IRC for help, everybody was happy to answer my linux noob questions. That was really nice to have so many ready to help. Gotta love this community  Kiss

Yidakee (GhostPlayer) offered to help, and god I wished I had just contacted him in the beginning. His hand holding session was so great. He went through everything with me explaining every step and command line. And did not give up on me when I was having my retard moments due to not knowing anything about Linux. I feel like I could set up a node by myself after this spoonfeeding session. And understand it all much better now and confident that my darks are in a dark place  Cool

Highly recommend him if you are going to set up a node and I know that it will safe you allot of frustration, just contacting him in the first place instead doing it like me and scratch your head for hours before seeking help.   Roll Eyes

For my TA it still stands .. everything under 0.01 is a steal !

Great Icebucket! There's hope for us Linux-know-nothing's yet! thanks for sharing.

So no fud and the price still goes down.  You're prediction of .08 is about to be realized.

I realise your not trolling here. You just don't like "cults" and everybody winding each other up in big ball of hype.

So I'll shut up this time with my "anti-troll" rhetoric because I identify with that sentiment myself, even though I may occasionally participate in it. But at the same time I think you should allow some latitude (and you do seem to have been doing this lately) for people favourably promoting the technical features of a project who's development they follow in some detail.

In many ways, it's a shame there's a price tag attached to the project because if there wasn't then this thread - and those of other cryptocurrencies - would be far less tribal and more about the genuine creativity that's behind them. All the same, your posts on here have come to symbolise a recurring theme across all [ANN] threads which is the 'were going to the moon and everybody else is shitcoin inc' sentiment.

We have to try to reach a balance and move on from the Blackcoin episode. The price evolution and the technical evolution are two distinct things. Much of the tension on bitcointalk arises from this ambiguity. Great things can be going on technically - which fires people up who are interested in that kind of thing - but the market can be in a different mood which then results in disparate perspectives amongst holders and traders. I happen to be in both camps and had to scratch my head over all this a few weeks ago. I sold on my own market analysis and then felt crap about it which I wasn't expecting. I had to then make up my mind about "why" I was investing in this project. I suspect that we all need to develop our thinking a bit about this - both "trolls' and holders, so that we're clearer about our priorities and don't feel so bad when someone with a different priority (e.g. price) takes a gain at our expense.

In summary, there are two distinct perspectives - technical development and market movements. From time to time they catch up with each other but in the meantime we must decide clearly which of of those priorities we individually identify with and not be put off when people make uncomfortable market analyses. GiftEncounter, mikethemike and shojayxt have all made quite relevant posts on here from time to time. They've also made totally troll like arrogant and adversarial posts, but I've done my share of that as well both here and on other threads.

We need to start communicating better with each other and advance beyond the Blackcoin debacle with intelligence, passion for the project and a bit of humility. The first step to doing that is - as far as apparently adversarial posts on the thread go - in knowing what those posters' priorities are and adequately contextualising their remarks.

As I understand it, here's the translation for the deaf:

[1] - if GiftEncounter makes a "DRK has had its day, it's going down now" post, it means he's shorting DRK right now and will be going long if the DRK / BTC MACD looks like crossing over with any significant volume in the 4-hour or greater chart. He's a market trader priority person who's interested in maximising his gain in ANY market regardless of the underlying fundamentals. I don't disrespect this approach - I myself operate like that in other markets. GiftEncounter sometimes makes genuine calls because he's quite an intelligent trader, but there are 2 problems with his posts:

a) they are all temporarily subjective according to whether he happens to be short or long and
b) lately, his trading success has been going to his head and he's been making arrogant posts about how stupid 'holders' in that particular coin are for holding rather than selling. In other words, he sees everyone as being in his "trading" role and hasn't yet progressed enough to realise that there are people actually doing real work to earn him his gains

[2] - if shojayxt makes a "it's going to 8" remark, it means that he might still be long but gets nauseated by the mutual appreciation society on here. I don't think it's really trolling, he just wants people to be realistic. (Apologies for referring to you in the 3rd person shojayxt). From time to time it turns into trolling but folk on here (including me) do the same in reverse and we all end up in a great ball of smoke. I have laid into shojayxt just as much an anyone but I don't really feel great about it afterwords and I'd prefer myself to have just accepted the odd adverse remark in a constructive manner if I was to be honest. The difference with GiftEncounter is that if GiftEncounter makes a trolling remark it's definitely because he's short. But if shojayxt makes an adverse remark he's looking for realism which means he's worried about his holdings - ergo: he's long. Huge difference in motivation and in that light, both can definitely not be regarded as "trolls" at the same time

[3] - if mikethemike makes an "I'll see you at 8"remark" I think it's because he's speaking from genuine experience. The difference with GiftEncounter is that:

a) he's made his short position public
b) he's posted some valid technical basis for his market appraisal
c) he went to some effort to field challenges to his comment and engage in dialog with other posters on the thread

Likeways, we need to clarify our own priorities - are we day trading or do we have a genuine technical interest in the project. It might be a great work and still go to zero price wise. If it does, I'll still be able to live with myself because I'm now clear about why I'm involved in this. On the other hand, the market might just end up agreeing with our appraisal of this project's merits in the long run which would obviously be great for everyone who's been grafting away at it, but also for those traders who backed it - even GiftEncounter. mikethemike and shojayxt if they end up going long again.

We don't know, but we need to all make sure we enjoy the ride however this ends up and whatever our role in it is.

Many would respond with the flippant throw-away tl;dr but I read every word toknormal and appreciate that you took the time to write this and (in a world of nonsensical poorly written knee jerk reactions) have helped to explain how different people are motivated by different drivers. Good post. Thanks.

Please stop bringing up eCash, iCash or whatever variation. These discussions came up months ago when people were trying to rename the coin.

First, all of the "Cash" variations sound incredibly cheesy.

Second, you're tinkering with a new brand that is being built. Taglines, etc. add nothing but confusion to the mix. It's DarkCoin. Just call it that and be happy. If you have subsets of people using cheesy taglines or alternate brands, you're hurting the brand.

Third, even if adopted it will do nothing for "adoption". BitCoin sounded stupid until it didn't.

Fourth, adoption and attention will really soar after final release, which includes much-needed third-party/parties audit of the code and/or feedback.

We aren't there yet. DRK has a dedicated dev, just stop trying to figure out marketing gimmicks.

+1

Nothing is more prone to failure than dozens of techos naming a product or working out how it should be described. We just don't have the human psychology/sociology knowledge/awareness to be making valid judgements in this space. (It's essentially the same problem one has driving into a shopping centre carpark and struggling with confusing sign-age and not knowing how to get out....it was designed by 'shopping centre carpark architects' who have spent way too much time immersed in their world to be able to think like a regular member of the public).

Using ad-hoc terminology is fraught with the potential for mass confusion. It's DarkCoin.

(DRKw-qt) (DRKmn^4) + (DRKs+) = FUCKING AWESOME ! !

Love math too Mangled. Interesting equation. Is the right hand side operand some sort of technical expression?
1129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DARKCOIN Speculations on: June 01, 2014, 10:34:28 AM
BayAreaCoins your attitude and sentiment is excessively negative at best, but more than likely a display of pretty extreme arrogance. DRK has the potential to be a successful coin but like everything carries substantial risks (as does all speculative "investments"). Calling people that decide to have a go at buying into it "F....tards" is hardly helpful to people on here looking for genuine information. How you expect to attract customers and people who will engage with you when you put that sort of nastiness out into the ether is beyond me. Fortunately your demeaning language won't be taken notice of by any developer/entrepreneurs putting forward new ideas in this crypto arena and many people will just write you off.

I'm surprised no one's responded to this. Any DRK dev people wanting to comment or allay R160K's concerns? (eduffield or InternetApe perhaps?)

Yo CEO of Gox,

Don't listen to this heartless bunch mang.  They were drunk on money, and have seen there holdings cut in half due to your embattled exchange woes.  Calling you all kinds of terrible stuff, and even wishing you dead.  Truth be known, they are most likely the ones who ripped off Gox and hope the pillaged ship goes belly up.  I got pity for those kinds of folks, and they will get their comeuppins.

Didn't know you bailed out another exchange, but good onya mate.  Now, they turn their backs on you, and wouldn't piss on you to stop you from burning.  I know the feeling, but just remember, no good deed goes unpunished.

I still remember when I nervously sent Gox money early last year, and I don't make much, and was rewarded with being able to purchase some pretty fine BITS.  Well, I want to continue being a good customer.

This is what you do.  Get your shit together, and implement a proper withdrawal system.  Hell man, even if you have to do them manually it would be better than double (or triple, who knows?) sending some douchebag hacker BITS.

Go back to work, get your team motivated to tackle its issues, and get them done.  I got all the time in the world.  The best way to shut the peanut gallery down is to get that thing back to life, and get it making solid money again.  Don't worry about what everyone else thinks, just go in there and give 'em hell!

Beef

It's a feel good message and many of us would like to believe that he's truly trying his level best to restore faith in his reputation and MtGox by getting the whole thing sorted and back up. But, unfortunately, the lack of transparency and/or consistent updates has left everyone feeling like they've been duped. The fact that the site now just says "Dear MtGox Customers, In light of recent news reports and the potential repercussions on MtGox's operations and the market, a decision was taken to close all transactions for the time being in order to protect the site and our users. We will be closely monitoring the situation and will react accordingly. Best regards, MtGox Team" provides cold comfort to people that can't access their funds. The world of finance just has too many examples of humans being swayed by any one (or more) of the seven deadly sins and deciding to do a runner (rather than face up to their obligations) to believe that the communications we're getting are from MtGox indicate a team diligently working to sort everything out and restore confidence. Unfortunately it appears far more like an attempt to keep people on the hook and hoping all is okay whilst the key people in there ruminate on what sort of parachutes they may be able to prepare and the best process to extricate themselves in one piece.....
1132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm considering making a bitcoin information realtime notify website on: February 19, 2014, 04:11:43 PM
I think your idea is basically a good one zorroII, but it will be in the execution of it that will determine whether it adds to Bitcoin or takes away. There is a constant cry on here to stop spreading FUD. It's true that there are people who are just overly negative about Bitcoin and crypto-currencies in general. But what I don't agree with is the almost fanatical responses by some people when someone tries to have a rational debate about the genuine downside and risks, and they get howled down. That's a "hear no evil, see no evil...." approach which is the hallmark of a fool. We have to discuss the potential for failure as well as the potential for success. People on here are "investing" in Bitcoin, yet it isn't a stock, it isn't an entity with a balance sheet you can peruse and it holds no intrinsic value in and of itself. It will increase in value the more it become a currency people actually want to and can use. that's a fundamental point. If it remains just a currency the bulk of people hold onto for speculative purposes, it will go nowhere as it just follows the normal laws of speculative bubbles (which have been repeated and repeated throughout human history ad-nauseum)

If you can create a news service that looks at major influences (and influencers) and helps the serious bitcoinophile be more aware, your website will eventually become something of great value.
1133  Economy / Economics / Re: Are bitcoin exchange prices being manipulated? on: February 19, 2014, 06:16:52 AM
Yes, I would think that if Mt Gox announces tomorrow (as they're supposedly going to) that withdrawals are back on, there will be a storm of selling activity by people who've had their fingers burned and just want to get their funds the hell out of there altogether. When that happens there'll be the usual "sellers as far as the eye can see" situation which typically means a price collapse because people that hadn't intended to sell suddenly get drawn into the vortex and the selling becomes a self perpetuating market bear until en-masse people start questioning whether it's reached the bottom. Then we'll potentially see a bounce of sorts, but it could be a false bounce and catch many who pile on at that point unaware with a further run downwards. It will certainly be interesting. Once the Mt Gox situation is sorted and cleared up things should improve (if that actually happens....Gox may continue on in this paralyzed state for sometime yet)
1134  Economy / Economics / Re: Are bitcoin exchange prices being manipulated? on: February 19, 2014, 03:53:12 AM
Do you mean BTC-e degatz? BTC/USD is (right as I write) $611.20 whereas on Bitstamp it's $629.88. Once Mt Gox starts allowing withdrawals won't both BTC-e and the Bitstamp prices go down as lots of people start offloading their coins? What do you mean exactly...who from where would be buying and how will they be advantaged?
1135  Economy / Economics / Re: Are bitcoin exchange prices being manipulated? on: February 19, 2014, 02:16:07 AM
But Dalmar they're identical BTC amounts for 50+ transactions. Those most recent ones were for 0.01633506 each time. How would this be for purchase transactions? It has to be the same purchaser buying at that amount again and again which is why I think it's coming from inside the exchange (and the same $100 or $10 being used over and over). I've never used Bitstamp, but whatever these continually recurring transactions are, their existence doesn't give me confidence it's all above board.
1136  Economy / Economics / Re: Are bitcoin exchange prices being manipulated? on: February 19, 2014, 02:05:03 AM
Yes, no doubt you're right LMM. Just looked again, now there's a whole raft of trades of $626.72 and other ones close to $628.60. The lower ones are a bit over US$10 each time (they must have run out of $100 notes....just kidding). So little trade happening now...everyone's just waiting to see what will happen. Someone must be trying to push it down.
1137  Economy / Economics / Are bitcoin exchange prices being manipulated? on: February 19, 2014, 01:48:32 AM
So, as many of you would have noticed, over the last few days the BTC price has been probably more stable than it's been for a long time. Movements across a single day on Bitstamp over the past 24-48 hours have been in the $20 to $30 dollar range. However what's happening is the price is doing a very slow dance downwards; almost like a leaky tire slowly deflating. Perhaps there just isn't anything of note happening to create any demand and the bubble's slowly going down. The price stability provides better conditions for Bitcoin to be a genuine currency that can start to be used more, but if it's just slowly deflating it's not going to be something people will be willing to hold onto.

Anyhow....while watching the price movements on Bitstamp for the past few hours I was sitting there willing it to get above US$630 (a useless practise, I know) and there appeared to be this battle going on with transactions of BTC going through at $628.04 and then other sets of transactions coming through at $629.79. It was going back and forth between these two numbers. Looking at the $628.04 transaction and the number of BTC being sold each time, one can calculate that these are lots of US$100. The other transactions at $629.79 (and other amounts close to this) were for all differing amount of BTC.

I watched this dance for an hour or so, the whole time wondering why transactions are occurring at the lower figure when the higher figure seemed to be 'market rate' at that moment. These $100 dollars transactions just kept coming and coming. Eventually they outnumbered the higher trades and then the higher trade price started to come down and the lower one slipped down a cent to $628.03 (and eventually below $628). I must have counted hundreds of these trades at a bit over $1.50 less than all the other trades. They just kept coming at an ever increasing rate.

What does everyone think about this? Is it just normal market dynamics within an exchange or is there some robot process (or even a human pressing buttons) selling $100 of BTC every few seconds at circa $1.50 below all other trades in an attempt to get the price down? One can imagine someone within the exchange who can just keep using the same $100 wanting to create a price collapse so that when it bottoms out they can quickly buy up vast quantities of BTC and make a killing when it bounces. Possibility?

(and before anyone questions my credibility given this is my first posting on here, I've been reading posts on this forum for a long time and have been involved in Bitcoin for over a year, but have never wanted to comment or engage. I haven't seen anyone else ask this question about pricing on exchanges, especially given all the focus on much more serious issues around Gox and the withdrawal delays. With the whole crypto currency realm being new and prone to 'wild west' culture, there are a million ways things could go pear shaped, and manipulation like I'm suggesting is bound to be an idea someone somewhere is either considering or actively pursuing).

Thanks in advance for all replies and comments
