1122  Economy / Gambling / Re: Impossible KYC Requirements - Stake.com - Withholding $6000 USD on: June 29, 2023, 07:51:48 PM
OP i will not be saying this because am a user of stake or because am one of their participants, but if you can take a look closely to the conditions attached, you will discover that they have provided you with two alternative options to use in other to evade this experience for them to be able to process your transaction, anwer either of the two questions asked through the chat response appearing on your dashboard or complete the registration requirements for KYC, this is very simple to achieve if you can give the required information and then they take it up to do your own request and get it approved.

Just a quick question, did you even bother reading what the OP wrote? Seriously, how can you say that it's "very easy to achieve" when you clearly have no idea what he's talking about? And what two questions are you even talking about?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the OP is right or wrong in this particular case. We don't have all the information, and it would be best to hear both sides of the story, including the casino's perspective. But what really ticks me off is your lazy and generic response, as if you didn't even bother to read what the OP provided to Stake for his KYC verification. Show some damn consideration, will you? Don't just spew out useless posts to meet some weekly quota.

1125  Other / Meta / Re: Can Bitcointalk Adopt the Web3 System? on: June 29, 2023, 01:26:32 PM
I am not interested at all in this and I don't want to connect any wallets with my bitcointalk account, it is waste of time.
Web3 have nothing to do with bitcoin as far as I know, it's only related with worthless shitcoins and it doesn't have any real use case in real world.
If I want to make login in forum more secure I would only consider adding optional 2FA as improvement to current login system.

Yes, I know you hate altcoins, but they already dominate 53% of the crypto market. That means 53% of the crypto community was born from altcoins. Without altcoins, of course bitcoin is not as popular as it is now.

I wouldn't go as far as to say he hates altcoins entirely. It's more like he's not a big fan of the useless shitcoins that make up 99.99% of the altcoin market. As for the remaining 0.01%, he remains indifferent. I suspect that most of us here share a similar sentiment.  Wink

If by "dominate," you're referring to market capitalization, I think your argument might be a bit misleading. Firstly, as per the current data from CMC, Bitcoin's dominance is once again above 50%. Secondly, market capitalization doesn't really reflect the number of members in the crypto community. So I don't know how you came to the conclusion that 53% of the crypto community "was born from altcoins". Besides, it's not an either-or situation. Many people in the crypto world hold both Bitcoin and altcoins in their portfolios simultaneously.

If in the future crypto is common to be a currency for shoping in online shop. Are you always going to stick your hard wallet to your laptop? I think it would be safer and easier if we put a little money in the extension wallet for shopping purposes. If you don't feel safe, you can just change the address.

When M-banking was first known, many people did not believe in its security, but now lazy people have to go to an ATM just to transfer money or check balances. The world is constantly changing and innovation is one way to survive change

That's true. But, when it comes to a forum platform like bitcointalk.org, this fact doesn't really have much relevance. Sure, you might see some buying and selling happening on the forum, but it's not the main thing people are here for.
1126  Economy / Gambling / Re: Looking for Website Recommendations on: June 29, 2023, 12:43:39 PM
If any website has a better affiliate program and can offer some sort of welcome bonus for my high roller referrals on sign up, please let me know. Would be highly appreciated.

All the suggestions provided by other members are pretty good. Based on my personal experience, I've noticed that newer platforms tend to offer slightly better terms to their affiliates. They're trying to attract new players and build their name in the community, so they tend to be more generous. However, be cautious and ensure that the casino you choose is reputable. You'll often find that the most appealing affiliate terms come from shady platforms that may not have your best interests at heart. Just make sure to check out the terms and conditions of each platform and review the specific details of their affiliate programs.

As for the welcome bonus for your referrals, I'm not sure if such a specific bonus exists. After all, how can the casino predict in advance that your referrals will be high rollers?
1127  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: June 29, 2023, 12:25:09 PM
<cut>

I'm simply pointing out what is outlined in their Sports Betting Policy:

3.3. Sportsbook platform reserves the right to refuse, restrict, cancel or limit any bet.

While it may not seem fair, but you can't claim it's illegal, nor can it be considered a scam. Anyone who joins the platform and chooses to place bets must agree to their terms of use.

Regarding their explanation that the odds provider voided the bets, you can't really know if that's true or not. Different gambling platforms often work with different odds providers. So just because you placed the same bet on another platform doesn't necessarily mean their claim about the odds provider voiding the bets is false.
1128  Economy / Gambling / Re: Impossible KYC Requirements - Stake.com - Withholding $6000 USD on: June 29, 2023, 10:56:30 AM
To be honest, this situation doesn't look good. Without diving into the specific case or what they suspect about your account, these KYC requirements seem ridiculous in 2023. I'm worried that if I were in a similar situation, I wouldn't be able to prove my place of residence either. All my utility bills are digital, and I handle all payments online. I don't have any physical copies of the bills (except when I print them myself), no tangible proof of payment, no signatures, or stamps... Basically, I'd be screwed if I had to provide that kind of proof.

I'm eager to see how Stake will respond to this as well.
1129  Economy / Gambling / Re: Loophole in stopping Money Laundering through Wagering on: June 29, 2023, 10:39:02 AM
So does this mean that there is a loophole here and the money launderers can easily by pass this wagering requirement?

No, there is no loophole. Even if you have a 99% probability of winning, there is still a 1% chance of losing. From the perspective of the casino, statistically speaking, one out of every 100 individuals will lose, allowing the casino to cover the expenses of paying the other 99 people.

But, most importantly, this is not how money laundering through casinos works. If you try this method, it's a piece of cake for the authorities to track the money and figure out where it came from. The whole point of money laundering is to hide the money's origin and make dirty money look clean and legit.
1130  Economy / Reputation / Re: Tagging Accounts Sellers And Tagging Traded/Sold/Bought Accounts on: June 29, 2023, 08:41:07 AM
I have read these rules. But there are also those who really like to mark alt accounts. Who actually makes the rules? Didn't they break the rules by making up their own?

The trust system on the forum is unmoderated. There aren't any rules in place to stop a member from tagging a seller's or buyer's account.

<cut>
But no one dares to enter the forum for fear of being banned/marked

I call this bullshit. I haven't come across a single instance where accounts are tagged by DT members as alts solely based on token transfers between them. There is always other (circumstantial) evidence that connects them.

1132  Other / Meta / Re: Is Ban Evasion same as Proxy Ban? on: June 27, 2023, 08:44:21 AM
So for me creating an account and then abadoning it because of the evil fee to create a new one is that considered as an Ban Evasion?

Nope, that's not considered ban evasion. If you happen to come across a proxy ban and don't feel like paying evil fees, you can try changing your public IP address or switching to a different VPN provider (if you're using one) and make a fresh account. Just remember, you won't be able to reuse the same username.
1133  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Minning on: June 27, 2023, 08:33:31 AM
i believe someone has an idea on basic mining process without using any hardware, i need to know more about it Smiley

What specific information are you looking for? Mining without using any hardware, or without software? As hosseinimr93 said, mining Bitcoin without hardware is indeed impossible. Additionally, mining software is necessary to manage and monitor the mining process. So, both hardware and software are vital components for Bitcoin mining.
1134  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Novosti on: June 26, 2023, 08:51:47 PM
1135  Other / Meta / Re: Can Bitcointalk Adopt the Web3 System? on: June 26, 2023, 08:15:34 PM
I don't really need to login using the web3 system. This is just a question that popped into my mind. But sometimes I think, bitcoin is an advanced technological breakthrough for the future, why are bitcoin forums still running conventionally? of course the admin of this site is very thorough with security, so it's very strict in this forum.

Yes, Bitcoin is an advanced technological breakthrough for the future of digital currency and financial systems, it has nothing to do with logging into online forums and websites. Seriously, why would you want to link your wallet to your online forum profile? It just opens up a can of worms, exposing you to all sorts of risks. You don't want your financial assets out in the open for everyone to see, right? Plus, there are always potential threats such as hacking or phishing attacks.
1136  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is considered good collateral these days? on: June 26, 2023, 07:28:33 PM
~
I understand that this can be challenging. Is there a service available that specializes in verifying someone's legitimacy by seeking information and answers to specific questions?

I'm afraid it doesn't work that way. There are many well-intentioned people here, but the thing is, people have no reason to trust you. Trust is something that must be earned, and you're not there yet.

Well, if you were an established member with a decent reputation and a track record here, I wouldn't mind to get in touch and engage in business with you. However, in your current situation, you come across as someone overly eager to get a loan, which is always a red flag. That's why good collateral is important when doing business with someone new to the community.
1137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Introducing Altcoin (ATC), Ethereum's alternative to Bitcoin on: June 23, 2023, 09:02:05 PM
Didn't think much about the name huh? Altcoin, is another altcoin that's gonna be an altcoin of the century.

Probably because the name Shitcoin was already taken...  Cheesy

Honestly, how many of these projects have been saying that they're bringing Bitcoin to this, that network and had all the features and could even beat bitcoin.

Unfortunately, too many of them.

Yeah. It never fails to amuse me when I come across these feeble attempts. So, they claim to be bringing the best features of Bitcoin to Ethereum? And the only feature they mention is a limited supply of 21 million? I can't help but wonder, what happened to all the other Bitcoin's features?
1138  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Submarine missing ^Titanic disaster 2023 on: June 23, 2023, 03:19:16 PM
To me that was a suicide mission, no one has ever gone to see the Titanic ship and return. It's a journey of no returns, and people still want to try, for nothing sake.

You think? There have been literally dozens of manned expeditions to the wreck of the Titanic since it was found in 1985.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wreck_of_the_Titanic

The film director, James Cameron, who also happens to be a passionate explorer of the deep sea, holds the record for visiting the wreck of the Titanic over 30 times. There's even a rather amusing tale of a couple getting married in a submersible on the bow section of the Titanic wreck, recreating the iconic scene from the famous 1997 movie.

1140  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammed by a domain name "Buyer"... Sent me Bitcoin through a fake exchange. on: June 23, 2023, 01:09:54 PM
Once I got the Bitcoin, the "fun" began. Apparently, I can't transfer my now 75k BTC to another wallet unless I verify it by depositing 3k first.
<cut>

This is a common scam involving fake crypto exchanges. Scammers create websites and platforms that appear legitimate and mimic real exchanges to deceive unsuspecting users. These fake exchanges often offer attractive deals, such as exclusive promotions or deposit bonuses, to lure people in. Once users sign up and deposit their funds into these fake exchanges, they may experience difficulties withdrawing or accessing their money. The scammers might manipulate account balances, making it seem like users have more funds than they actually do. They may also delay or deny withdrawal requests, giving various excuses or claiming technical issues. In some cases, the scammers might even use phishing techniques, tricking users into depositing more money, under the guise of fake verifications, transfer fees, taxes, and similar charges. They will communicate with you and fabricate new reasons to justify further payments as long as you continue to comply with their demands. Don't do that!

The key point to understand here is that there are no actual Bitcoins in your account (they are merely fictional entries in their database), and there is no way to "trick" the website into paying you. Basically, you've been scammed. The best thing you can do is try to find the scammer who did it and report him to the authorities. And, whatever you do, never give scammers more money!
