1121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING DISORDER on: January 18, 2024, 06:30:16 PM
How can one control the uncontrollable urge to keep gambling despite the toll it takes on once life.

It's getting worse every day. I'm extremely depressed I have thoughts of unaliving myself more often, some times I feel the betting companies manipulate people spiritually to get them addicted where be playing without plans and strategy. Once a bet place get cut, there is this uncomfortable urge to quickly book another one with the plans of recovering the first money lost but it will end up cutting again.

The casino is not manipulating anyone to gamble out of their wish. It's a personal decision to gamble and make fun through the activity. Gamblers operate in unique ways, so as you should. Maybe the strategies which you implement is not good enough to secure or limit the urge of gambling from coming up often times. When gambling it's crucial to have some arrangement within yourself and follow a guide that works. Instead of playing out of fear or making mistakes in the hopes of winning big. No need of feeling depressed. It only gets the trouble worse as the healing progress can be delayed. You should be focusing on maintaining yourself not to get in deeper trouble than you're facing right now. Gambling is not an avenue for making huge amount of money. You may have been disappointed as a result of loss of money and not earning the money you wished to get via gambling.

That urge relies on the player. Though it appears so strong, but that doesn't mean we all need to be victim of trying again. When the game is no longer fun to you, then stop for the moment and relax against the next session. Viewing the game as a must win affair will only get you as a player more worried why you're not winning in the process. Assuming the player participates in gambling for fun, he won't get worried over the losses or wins. What matters most is playing the game within the duration he's made out for gambling. That's why the timing is quite very important for gamblers. Self-control is a required skill that one need to possess as gamblers. Don't chase loss, Op, it'll only worsen the situation. The urge can be controlled. All you need is to be a responsible gambler.

~snip~
Yes, it's great if we can convince the player to play smart. I think no one is against this. It’s just that many addicts don’t know how to play, what smart strategy to use. They use very simple strategies and believe that they are intellectuals who have learned the secrets of the universe. I would recommend learning and mastering something new. Or even play other games. This is both distracting and allows you to take a fresh look at your strategies. In addition, it prevents tilt.
I think there are quite a few really skilled gamblers that are also addicted.

The thing is that it is independent of your level of skill, but of course there are more unskilled gamblers so you see more addicted ones in total.

You always need to keep things in check unless you want things to spin out of control at some point.

No gambler is immune to addiction. Anybody could get addicted, and it's a matter of how the player follows his strategies. It's not simple to gamble and not have some signs of addiction. As you said, Nullama, some professional gamblers also get addicted. Therapists pondering why professional gamblers get addicted, left them with the conclusion that anybody could get addicted. While we gamble, it's needful to keep observing the required rules needed to keep us safe from being addicted. The reason some advanced gamblers get addicted is due to the insignia people already put on them for being a professional gambler. It can deceive the person to think he won't get addicted, ever, in gambling. Not knowing that he's still at the mercy of gambling addiction and remain vulnerable to it. Hence, he could get addicted anytime soon.

The right thing to do is staying true to the strategy which took us to the top in gambling. Since the professionals can get addicted, what more the newbies. They'll have a hard time keeping up with the game without being addicted. Gambling addiction is too strong to avoid, due to the amount of money needed to gamble and win big. Everyone wants money to some extent. That means gamblers won't stop easily, it's more like a lifelong attitude. Gambling is not a game where a person can play for few days and stop. This makes it difficult to heal and addicted person. Because he has invested time and money in gambling. Counseling him wouldn't be an easy task. Looking for a cheaper means of curing the person, exists, but if it keeps delaying the process, the gambler is mandated to see a psychotherapist. Since it has to do with the brain.
1123  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: January 18, 2024, 04:54:29 PM
I think many people should keep their gambling a secret simply because they have nothing to brag about. Either there is nothing to boast about yet or there will never be anything to boast about. When a person is long-term successful, it is usually difficult for him to restrain himself from demonstrating the material results of his success. This is a natural human desire. It’s as if a person proves to himself and those around him that he doesn’t just spend a huge amount of time on the game. But in most cases there is still nothing to be proud of.

If we put aside boasting, should then a person keep gambling habit in secret? Boasting with money isnt something that is accepted by society, but what if I have deposited a thousand, and won few dollars. Should I keep that in secret on purpose (meaning if someone eventually spot a gambling game on my screen, should I immediately minimize or hide it?). What if I am not trying to boast with amount I have won, but I simply have a smile on a face that I won. Should I change it to poker face immediately? And if someone asks why I am smiling, then I should lie that I've got it by gambling. Most people here think I should do that. While I think there is nothing be ashamed of, nothing to hide, let other mind their own business.

We can turn this discussion into victory in gambling = success. Should we keep our success in secret? Athletes boast with medals all the time Cheesy

        -  What you said, although I have never seen anyone bragging about gambling, saying that a large deposit made in a casino is bragging even though there is no need to brag, then what is bragging about? the big deposit in the casino? How can you brag about that if you didn't win at gambling? Instead, the size of the amount that you boasted about, you just lost.

Isn't it better that the amount of money you put into the casino is small or limited so that, in the end, the small amount of money you deposit in a casino grows, so at this point, you or we can brag about it because we ended up taking home a win?

The most crucial aspect of gambling is being on the right track, responsible gambling. Whatever one wants to do, once it has been ascertained that the person is a responsible gambler, doesn't matter anymore. The goal is becoming smart and making changes when necessary. Relationship with others doesn't make any changes in the life of the gambler. Why should one brag over his habit, if he's on the right track. It's a matter of explanation over bragging or noise on the type of money we've made in gambling. Gambling is not something to brag about, it's a game. A gambler could win today and lose out the next time he gambles. How would he feel after bragging and lose out on the next session. Hence, no need to be ashamed of our habit. They're some gamblers who would hide their screen or minimize if someone else tries to spy on their screen.

On the previous response of a member, he said within him the person can join gambling and end up becoming compulsive on the long run. As gamblers we need to understand how people around us feel about gambling. Before unveiling our gambling habit to them, they may have shown some interest or asked us about what we always focus our mind doing on the laptop. Or after a big win, the person asks questions on the new gadgets or products the gambler is buying. How he got his money? It's then left for the gambler to share his gambling activities with the person, and add some tips, what the person needs to know regarding gambling. No need bragging about that. It's a matter of personal discussion. Not trying to convince the person to gamble. But, letting them discover the positive aspect of gambling.
1124  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who does gambling addiction affect the most? on: January 18, 2024, 01:55:16 PM
When you say family, you mean his wife and children or you mean his parents. If a married person is an addicted gambler, I think he is going to affect his wife and will affect his children as well because the children are going to view gambling as a bad thing. They will never see gambling as good thing because the only person they look upto has lost it and the wife might even manipulate them just to save them from following the path of their dad not to become a gambler. As for the finances, the family as a whole are going to be affected because they might even struggle to eat because addiction makes one foolish.

As for a person that is not married, as in a single man might only feel the financial instability, the parent will only feel like they lost a precious person to gambling and that's all except if he is a person that take care of their financial billings and I guess a responsible person will not go beyond his limit to become an addicted gambler, that is even why the casino do warn people to gamble responsibly.

In any sense, his wife, kids and parents would get a fair share of the struggle. A married man is also a member of his father's family. Whatever happens to him Healthwise may need the attention of his father and mother. Although in a case where the gambler is not married. The trouble will be lesser compared to a married man. As he'd have a hard time running his family efficiently. Addicted gamblers face difficulties even after getting cured of the addiction. Those troubles are expected to be taken care of by his loved ones. Not just parents or family. Friends, colleagues and well-wishers can lift his problem up and endeavor to solve it. A problem that is divided gets easier to solve.

However, in the situation of the world, today, the problem is mainly for the family to solve, depending on the personality of the gambler in the society. How well he's contributed to the lives of people around him. So, if the person has been taken care of by his friends and well-wishers, sooner they'll forget about the dispute when the addiction is cured. But, the family of the addict, would hardly forget it because of the bond they've got with the person. Though it's a personal decision to be affected or not. The addict lives with the thoughts forever, even if he doesn't know what happened. He would know and hear from other people the type of behavior he displayed while addicted. The debts, compulsive gambling, etc. Some of the addict, after being healed, would complain to his family over what troubles them and the signs happening in their body system. Those complaints of him, could be refreshing the mind of his loved ones, to keep reminding the past experience they had with the gambler.
1125  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: January 17, 2024, 09:47:54 PM
Keeping our gambling habits a secret is very important because it ensures that someone is not influenced by us, especially when it comes to those closest to us and we don't want them to become addicted to gambling, usually people who are new to casinos usually have high curiosity, therefore  It's best to distance ourselves from relatives or friends, at least playing when we're alone is much better.  rather than playing online casinos when with friends.

Keeping your gambling habit secret is optional as it varies amongst gamblers. It all depends on the person gambling. Your point of keeping it a secret for fear of influencing others. I don’t think it would any fault of yours if someone else get influenced without you putting any effort into doing so.
People enjoy gambling with friends as it could be enjoyable winning and losing with friends around having cheers and boos when there’s a win and when there’s a loss.

There are some activities that aren’t just fun when done alone.

The influenced person has to pay the price of being responsible for his gambling activities. Hiding your gambling habit for the sake of some other people getting influenced by you, is cool, but that's not a thing to bother about. They're other reasons why people shouldn't disclose their gambling habit. Not saying yours isn't good enough, at least you've got the people at heart and won't feel comfortable letting others go into gambling prematurely and get addicted. By the way, depending on your personality, don't know what your response would be if someone points fingers at you that you caused his gambling addiction. Like many people already did recently. Especially in the forum where there are few threads discussing about people regretting and blaming others for their failure to be responsible gamblers.

Maintaining a good family and retaining the love we have for our children, can be a better reason why a gambler should hide his habit. Our family may not understand the reason behind why we gamble. And it could cause some trouble between spouses. Avoiding such trouble requires that a gambler keeps his habit mute. Gambling alone isn't fun, as you said Iroh, yet hiding from people won't stop the person from enjoying gambling with friends. The aim is not hiding it from everyone, but the few people who he doesn't want to know of his gambling lifestyle. People do this due to the type of life they portray to the society. Disclosing or gambling openly for everyone to know can only invade the person's personally lifestyle in the society. And the gambler won't be comfortable around his environment, based on what people say about him being a gambler.
1126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: January 17, 2024, 07:52:07 PM
Become addicted in something, is dangerous whatever it is gambling or drug or something else. Such kind of people don't hesitate to involve with any crime like stealing money, kidnapping people, selling their apartment.
There are addicted gamblers that are hyper active but not coming to this point of their lives that they're going to do most of what you've said. But, it just so happens that many of them actually do it and that's the scary part of being addicted on anything. You are going to anything that you can so that you'll be able to continue to gamble without thinking on what you might have stomped on. It's either your family, colleague, your assets or anything that's precious to you. When you get to that point that you're even willing to sell your soul so that you can gamble, that's the scariest part from these addicts. And you are right that anything that's addictive or addicted to something they like doing, they will do nasty things.

Of course, addiction has its own level, there are those who are still stagnant in bets that are not too big but they do it very often and there are also those who have entered a high level which means that their level of addiction is chronic and they will not find it difficult to make things out of control as an alternative such as stealing or other crimes just to finance their gambling activities, And it is true that this is the scary thing about gambling addiction, not only the visible bad effects but they will also experience enormous mental and psychological pressure, and the proof is that it is not uncommon for us to see people who even go crazy or commit suicide because they are not strong with the mental and psychological pressure they feel, especially when they have entered the level of chronic addiction.

Basically anything that is done excessively is always not good, therefore from now on we must be able to resolve what is wrong with us regarding the gambling activities that we do, there is absolutely no prohibition for anyone from gambling as long as you can control it. everything is good like imposing many restrictions because this is the only thing that can help us.

When a gambler is left without being attended to his level of addiction would increase and expand to a stage where he'd be acting strange. It's important for people to observe their relatives and friends to make sure that they are gambling with a stable mind. Committing crime to generate money for gambling is a bad stage of gambling. Healing such a gambler would cost the family lots of money in the process. As it'll take a long time till he gets free of his problem gambling. As you said, it's a chronic disease, both the therapist and the family need to exercise some patience with the gambler. He's no longer in same thinking level with everyone else. All he's about, gamble.

Instead of letting anyone get to this situation, it's better to call them to mind in the early stages of their addiction. And help the gambler, recover his sense easily. Why gamblers commit suicide is mainly due to compilation of loans they've borrowed to gamble. It leaves the player restless, with no valid means of paying off his debts. Whatever is the trouble, we all know that the player is undergoing a very serious emotional trauma. The trauma is same as that of the drug addict. That's why the gambler tend to act as one. Self-inflicted problems, needs the collaboration of the addict to heal him. Trying to share some advice may not be effective. As the gambler feels he's alright and claim nothing is wrong with him. Even after the person has been cured of his problem gambling, they still act strange as if they'll go back to gambling addiction. I think it's better people check up on any gambler close to them and observe their behaviors.
1127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Social aspects of online gambling on: January 17, 2024, 07:32:20 PM
To the people that have maybe tried both online and physical gambling, how do you perceive the socialization aspects of online gambling?

In my personal opinion: I think casinos that feature crypto gsmbling are somewhat lacking in terms of how players can communicate with each other. I get that some people that gamble online might actually want to avoid talking to other people, but what if you can only gamble online and still want do socialize a little bit?

I don't think they're lacking behind for communicating as they didn't put that in mind when creating online casino as most individual that use online casino are doing that for privacy and comfort. They don't want to socialize while gambling and that's why they didn't use the physical casino. I don't want more to be done to how we communicate online at the moment so we don't lose our privacy and other benefits of online casino that we're enjoy at the moment.

If you want to socialize, there are many other things that you can do to social and if you only want to socialize while gambling, go and use the traditional casino. Online casino don't need more things to be done. The chat box or the live box where some gamblers can discuss is okay. For casino that don't have a chat box that gamblers can use to chat with eachother they can add that to their casino and that's okay.

Online casino would have been completely made private, if not for KYC. But the need to make it a fun place for communication, may not be as expected by some gamblers who wants the communication features available. On the long run, we could be seeing some casino who would adjust things and make availability for a better fun platform. Yet it wouldn't make many changes since the aim of other gambler is to gamble and chat using the chatbox. Any other feature one needs could be gotten on social media platforms. Nothing else can be done to change the way online gamblers communicate with one another. It must be on screen. We cannot feel or touch them, hence the virtual reality we seem to get isn't proper fun compared to what physical casinos provide for gamblers. However, the physical casino is fun, but people still mind their businesses. It's not like all people go there to do is socializing.

The only fun part of physical casinos is when we go together with our close friends, we'll enjoy the games. However, those who came alone can at least discuss with some experts who may want to help them with new strategies. Or argue with them about their prediction being wrong. And they need to try something else. You'd never have a substantial conversation with someone you just met, like you do with an old-time friend. So, an online gambler that wants to have fun like he's in a physical casino, can invite his friends over to his house to gamble with him and share ideas together. No other difference. Aside seeing people, some can go to the physical casino and still go back home not entertained by the people they see in the place. The person needs to know how to hold conversation and possess a good communication skill.
1128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mental rehabilitation clinic. on: January 17, 2024, 07:14:57 PM
Family and loved ones are something that is always worth fighting for, no matter how severe the addiction we had. For their sake it is worth living and trying to get out of the bottom in which we find ourselves. After all, if you don’t fight, then what’s the point in the game? I want anyone who finds themselves in a difficult situation to watch interviews with gambling addicts. There they talk about their path and what they have come to. I watched dozens of these videos and recognized a part of myself in each one. At some points I thought like them and it caused me fear. You don’t need to think that we are special in the game, we are just very similar in our behavior and actions there. In general, I want to say that for me it was a discovery, I understood a lot about the players, I advise you to watch it, I think this will really help many people not to slide into complete rock bottom.

Showing the addicts some videos to see could be a valid strategy. Another way of introducing the addicted player to reason like the addicts in other locations of the world. However, such technique may not be effective for a long time, until he gets tired of seeing the videos. As he would feel reminded of his troubles at all times. Though I've not known the quality of the videos you talk about, but that wouldn't be an all the time routine, between a therapist and the addict. In the mental clinic the addict needs to share his troubles with the therapist. And while in discussion with the therapist he can use the video as a reference. While maintaining a close relationship with the addict without making him look like the people in the video. It could make the gambler enjoy the session; hence he'd visit some other times. But just viewing videos could be boring and the addict would miss his therapy classes. Because he's not meant to feel like an addict in the first place. The process is just to create a space in his brain for change of habit.

Condemning his situation wouldn't help the player heal or cure his problem gambling. When we find a struggling person, our goal is to struggle with them out of the trouble. Not standing on the corner, yelling, you are the cause of your problem! Same applies to addiction, the therapist is required to claim he's in similar trouble with the addict and offers effective responses to the gambler. To make him understand that the therapist is indeed undergoing same trouble as him. Then he'd easily open up and share more details to his trouble. How it makes him during the day and night. And how long the problem has been persisting. His ways of trying to solve the problem. The moment he begins to open up his personal experiences to the therapist. I think the main aim of therapy has been achieved.
1129  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers trickily claims they wins the bet while they never did. on: January 17, 2024, 06:46:41 PM
I could easily imagine there is an important percentage of bettors out there on the internet who have chosen to lie about their winnings in some specific occasions of the betting career because they have been afraid of the public opinion and the opinion of those close to them about losing money to a casino. There is people who lie and deceive others for reasons which at first glance does not make any sense to us, so it should not be a surprise to anyone the fact someone could be able to lie about money.

But why do they have to lie online about that, If they are afraid of judgement from some individuals that are closed to them they can lie offline but not online. I think most of the lies online about what they got from the games they were playing is for deceiving other gamblers to believe that they're experts and if they follow them, they can make money as the individual lying is claiming to make, those individuals lying online are doing that to get followers.

Many influencers online are lying and the gambling influencers are also lying which is why you won't see them losing. You'll only see them making profits all the time but when you try to copy them you'll lose. Some of the influencers are also working for the casino and sportsbooks to bring more customers to them and they make profits from doing this. Influencers are the worst individuals to follow online.

Influencers make up those lies to be able to deceive their followers and drive out funds through them. The online space for most gamblers is an avenue to claim success in gambling. Since people on social media platforms derive joy seeing lies and fake posts, it has allowed for the need for more wrong claims and deceits. The problem arises more when the followers gamble because of the information they've seen on their favorite influencer's page. The online lies seem a bit fair because the person could be generating some impressions through the fake contents, compared to the offline lies where the gambler gains nothing in return for lying. They only do that to impress their friends and make them believe, just like the online gambler, that they're experts in gambling. So, they can pass the message across other acquittances that he's indeed sure of what he's doing in gambling.

Those attitudes don't help the gambler and could lead him to depression and anxiety like most influencers suffer stress and depression, trying to impress their followers. No reasonable explanation is satisfactory to why gamblers lie to their friends. Isn't it some problem gambling signs? Or a more reliable alibi for letting those pressurizing them to stop gambling, overlook their complaints and conclude that the player is not a bad gambler as they may have thought. Their bank roll suffers it, and the player would find gambling for a longer period hard to achieve. As he takes money from his bank roll to claim as his earnings. That's so weird. He wouldn't feel on the inside, while watching his friends devour the money, he's saving for gambling purposes.
1130  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: January 17, 2024, 06:23:26 PM
Either you are successful or a responsible gambler, my people don't care, they will give you names that's suited for a addicted gambler and possibly stamp it on you forever, the way my country people thinks can be annoying at times.

From my own point of view, I don't see anything wrong here, a successful gambler might at one point struggle with gambling addiction and won the battle, such people will eventually become a better gambler and grow with time, but whatever people will say is just peoples opinion, most of them will never look at a successful gambler as a real man.

It's possible that those who ridicule you when you are a poor gambler can make a turn and start trying to get closer to you once you are successful, mind you, it's human nature, people are too shameless, but just have it in mind that once that money fades away they will always disappear from your life.

I think it's very hard for people to know us and your activities well. Our friends and family that spend a lot of time with us will be able to tell more about our gambling endeavors than our colleagues at work, or some strangers that we rarely met. So, how much value can we give to those people calling us gambling addicts? In the end it comes down to us taking a look at ourselves and see how many hours we spend gambling and profitable we are. Just because some has the feeling we are an gambling addict doesn't make it true. Verifying if we are a successful or unsuccessful gambler is easy for anybody that keeps track of his bankroll. Checking how much money we are up or down over the years can help a lot. But it's also no indication if we are an addict or not. I wouldn't give much attention to random people people calling me addict, only if it's a good friend or a family member.

Successful gamblers spend more time gambling that people would think they're addicted. That's a personal observation and the successful gambler is not meant to bother himself over what people say about him and his habit. Hence, his priority would be gambling at controllable pace, so he'd be able to maintain being a professional than the addict he's called. However, the fault is not on the people, they have their personal reasons for doing all that which consists of not being well informed of the differences between an addict and a successful gambler. The conclusion for non-gamblers is determined on the duration the player spends gambling. It's mainly a difficult thing for non-gamblers to differentiate between successful gamblers and addicts.

But, whoever, has been in the same home with an addict, would figure out that much uniqueness exists between these two gamblers when he finds a successful gambler. The successful players give people reason to see the sweetness of gambling. Their actions uplift gamblers in the eyes of close relatives who are non-gamblers. Some of them make out time to discuss importance of gambling with their loved ones. While an addict would be a pain in the ass of his family, a successful gambler changes the perspective of the people around him. By ensuring that they get whatever they need from him, and he still makes out time to gamble. Running his family proficiently and efficiently with no back logs on the long run. In a nutshell, they should be a personal experience for the non-gamblers to see the differences.

1131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's The Weirdest Alibi Of Gamblers So They Can Continue Gambling? on: January 17, 2024, 02:57:37 PM
It's a bit funny this time in our discussion, in fact I rarely pay attention or interpret words like the ones you present. I mean, like the title of this thread. or maybe, you and I have said a few words that without realizing it have become a strange alibi for the community. who knows, after all, we discuss a lot and even review every discussion in gambling. well, so it occurred to me that maybe there were a lot of strange words I said to the community. but what I agree with, and oddly enough is what you shared in your link. I will quote it, "Gambling every day draws you closer to winning". we agree, that this thread makes me a little funny. But don't get me wrong, because in reality I don't have the slightest narrow mind. in fact, I also made a post in that thread.

Honestly, I'm trying to remember some of the strangest alibis in my own circle. but I can't remember it, especially for something that makes little impression on me. however, in our area there are many gamblers who often say, "keep depositing, never win". this is just a figure of speech, our place is to joke with each other about gambling. or, "don't give up", in his words it was changed to, "never give up smoke and let's keep gambling". these words are just a play, yeah like sarcasm for example. For people in my country, you must be familiar with our local language. but yeah, at least this thread can make us relax a little in discussions and not have to be as serious as possible.

They're numerous of the alibis gamblers must have said without remembering. But the few which we can recall could consist of the synonyms of what you listed above. Maybe I've not read the thread you mentioned in your response to the extent of realizing some alibis on there. But Op seem to have been inspired by the alibis of some other gamblers in this forum. Gamblers in my locality would say "gambling offers them money for a better living". What then can a person do, if a friend of theirs makes a statement like that regarding gambling to them. No need discouraging the gambler. Although, I've seen some of them quit gambling for real. And focused on other businesses. Discussing with them, they'll say gambling takes up all their savings. I think some alibis for not gambling also exists.

These people gambled more than me, and somehow made money, but never had extra savings with them. Surprised to notice that most of my friends who made few alibis in the past on why they'll continue gambling, no longer gamble like they used to in the past. I mean they were indeed in control of their decisions. None of them were addicted. However, addicts also share alibis to escape from pressure coming in the family. That isn't acceptable. As for the non addicts their alibis is quite funny, and actually are in control. Having fun with gambling is nice, not just while gambling. But seating and conversing with fellow gamblers, yields top notch fun. Sharing funny experiences, which results to why some players has invented some alibis, is always funny.

No matter what strategy that you use, if it is not your lucky day, you will lose the bet. Martangle might work for you but I don't see it as something that can guarantee wins. It is good to gamble for entertainment and not because we want to make profit, so that one don't think of chasing his losses.

This is why I agree with you that the moment you have up to three straight losses, you quit and gamble the next day to avoid having more losses. It is good to be discipline and have self control over one's gambling activities, so that you will enjoy gambling.

The first statement is partly true. But be reminded that winning isn't solely reliant on luck. It will depend on what kind of gambling game you are betting and playing. If you are into non-complex games, most likely you will just really rely on few working strategies for you and more on luck. Praying for the odds to be in your favor could possibly help. Although it still won't be guaranteed that you will win despite having much luck on your previous games outcome. So still manage your expectations so you won't get hurt. Do not go betting everything you have if you aren't confident and if you can't really afford to lose it in a snap.

Be a responsible gambler so you won't beat yourself up when things go south. Learn when to stop and when to continue. It will save you from trouble.

Everyone knows why they joined gambling, and the purpose of their habit in their personal life. The strategy they choose to play is left for them to master and understand. Gamblers utilize strategies differently and it's not a simple task to gamble and win. Many criteria get involved. Although some people would think because they've won 3 times on a row that their strategy is the best. That doesn't guarantee the validity or the accuracy of the strategy. It's a way of getting some reward for their gambling activities. It's great to have those trusts in us that we made it happen. That's true, the gambler made it happen, by being able to stake his money then tried whatever his instinct felt is right, if they win during this process, the person feels great himself. But he easily forgets that he's been gambling for quite a long time without experiencing such win as he just did recently, using same strategy.

Hence, luck plays some role, even when you said the player needs to hope for a better odd, isn't it a good example of luck? Knowing when to stop or continue could be hard, but the strategy is perfect. As some gamblers don't realize that they're losing more money and hope the next win would come on the next prediction. Others may accept within themselves that they've understood how the machine works, slot players, but in some days, it wouldn't play according to their expectations. While Op did a great job by sharing his method, readers and newbies need to observe their games closely before implementing such method. It's some slight way of doing Martingale, which is risky. The next game after a win, doesn't mean we'd win.
1133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Social aspects of online gambling on: January 17, 2024, 02:05:34 PM
but what if you can only gamble online and still want do socialize a little bit?
Well that would be kinda hard for your side since most of the people who gamble online, doesn't really look for socializing when playing. And probably most of the reason why they choose to gamble online is because they don't want to socialize and maintain small talks only. In my case as an online gambler, I just want to focus on playing and doesn't really look for someone to talk to while gambling.

While on the other hand, physical casinos are more on socializing and making connection with other people inside the casino. If you want to gamble and socialize at the same time, maybe you can do it with sports betting and then join groups or channel in discord.

Socializing and building interpersonal relationship skill through gambling, can't be gotten online. Another advantage of offline casino, spotted. A gambler who engages in playing games online and wishes to have some fun with other players, have no other option than visiting the physical casinos. Where he'd meet follow gamblers and share ideas. However, when we want it online at all costs. One could begin to enjoy the fun of chatting online on special interest boards relating to gambling. It mustn't be some popular platforms like discord, though it helps, but I think if one does their research, they would be able to find a fun conducive platform for gamblers, where they can have some virtual conversation online and see each other's faces. Looking at Op's idea, he's mainly concerned about the live games where he'd see other players.

But he's not comfortable with the fact that they'll hardly have a sound conversation. The online casino is quite growing and may become more fun in future, depending on the number of people who wish to make it a better place than the offline casino. Like I said, nothing beats physical conversation with other gamblers. It's very fun and worths the time spent in a casino. One could get a new network of friends. But looking at the response of most people only few gamblers care about having fun with other players online. The motive is to gamble and move on. It's more like ordering some products online, they're things we'll still need to get in the grocery store next to our home. We can't have it all online. Life is mainly sweeter offline, and gamblers know this, so swapping it would be fine.

1134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you care about what people say about you gambling? on: January 17, 2024, 01:38:11 PM
I wouldn't mind about what anyone will say towards my gambling activities because some people that don't understand that gambling is not for useless people will not accept your own point of view. So no need to bother about what people are talking about me because they finally noticed that I am a gambler. This is why one needs to gamble responsible to prove them wrong about what they think about gambling. Some people thinks that the moment you start gambling, your life will get ruined just because some irresponsible gamblers think that gambling is to get rich quick or to make profit got carried away with their mindset and became addicted to gambling, which later ruin them just because they lack self control. As long as have self control over my gambling a activities, I am cool with it because I do get all the entertainment that I need through gamble.
If it is random people, I also will ignore them. But if my close people give suggestion about my gambling activities, I will try to understand what they are trying to tell with me. Sometimes, there are things that we don't aware about my habits. If we are experiencing bad habits, it should be stopped soon. How if the people care with me? They may try to let me know about something wrong in my activities. If it is their main purpose, I personally won't ignore it but I will try to understand it and evaluate my habits. Not every one has bad purpose to say something, there are people who have good purpose.

Depending on the person who made such a statement could be a trouble for both the player and the person. As the gambler wouldn't stop immediately and the complainant wouldn't stop until he sees the gambler is not part of the habit. However, when we respect our family, it's crucial in making us feel more comfortable at home. But that wouldn't be simpler for a gambler, who has been in the game for long. He'd hardly change, I mean not immediately. That's why the person who disturbs the gambler must not pest his life to feel uncomfortable about himself. Because if he doesn't feel comfortable it could be trouble in the sense that the gambler may begin to avoid the person. On the contrary if the gambler understands that his habit is no longer favorable to the people around him, he is expected to make an adjustment.

Even if it's requires stopping the habit. As family means lots of fun to us than gambling would offer the gambler on the long run. No need proving anybody wrong, it may cause the gambler to get addicted. In the case of a stranger, they would be no need to fidget. Holding some conversations with him is excellent. At least to remove his doubts about gamblers being some weird people who don't add value to the society. That's what most people think whenever they see a gambler. Since they've got little information on gambler, that they can't differentiate between an addicted and a responsible gambler. The need for a close explanation would do the work. So that he wouldn't continue to see gamblers the same. Opening up to him that some gamblers don't misbehave like he's believed, growing up. Or wherever he got his intuition about gamblers.

1135  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: January 17, 2024, 01:22:29 PM
Good point about hiding and feelings. People hide things they do because they are either feel uncomfortable (like feeling ashamed of it) what they do, or the things they do has illegal context. Is gambling illegal? In some countries yes, in some not. I would understand if person hide that he gamble in country where it is illegal. About feelings, if I am an adult, why would I be ashamed of gambling? Or feel uncomfortable from doing something that brings me fun. Seems absurd to me.

But many do feel ashamed about their gambling habit, even if they are adults. In the first place, gambling is something not to be brag about or announced to anyone you know, maybe just to your trusted and close friends. The root cause is the stereotyping created by many people or the crowd; they think that gambling is illegal and bad, but the ones who create that description are the people who do it; there is no gambling addict if those people control themselves; there are no crimes related to gambling if they discipline themselves; in short, the people themselves are the reason why gambling is being categorised as an illegal or bad habit. Well, we can't please all people, so if you don't want to be judged, then it's better to hide it as I said gambling habit is something not to brag, keep it low and keep it safe.

Not everyone sees gambling as a good game. Most players grew in environments where gambling is not promoted as a decent activity. Living for many years with those ill thoughts on gambling can affect the perspective of the players. It's not simple he'd forget about those responses he's heard people say about gambling in his neighborhood or his family. Even when he's free or stays alone he'd find himself involuntarily hiding his gambling activities. Compared to a gambler that grew up with gambling designated people. So, it's best to say that the player isn't prepared psychologically to gamble. Such people exist in other stigmatized life activities. They wouldn't want people to have some stigma on them, and they have care about what the society would say regarding their behavior. I'd add that when in such a situation, staying active in learning the positive meaning of what we do changes our thinking, most times the idea of the society is always wrong.

It's not fine to have stigma on some certain type of people, because they engage in gambling. Since no crime is associated to it, or anybody getting harmed in the process, gamblers shouldn't feel attacked by the society to an extent of hiding our habit. However, the pressure society has on gamblers, is not much compared in the previous decades, when lots of factors like religion wasn't and still not on the side of gamblers. Online casinos have reduced the rate people go to casino or some gaming houses to stake money. Where they'll be seen by lots of people who go about saying all sort of things about the person. In today's world, players should learn to speak up and don't feel ashamed of gambling. Provided the gambler is not addicted and acts responsible why should he hide his habit.

Not sure but have read some article that claim the dealers are some AI claiming to be human. Looking at the responses as you said, it doesn't sound like human or hold on to a conversation as humans do. However, not all casinos would implement an AI as a dealer, but the whole scenario looks quite boring compared to the offline casino. Although people want to communicate with others by seeing their facial reactions. The casino also provides chat boxes for gamblers to participate in a group chat with other players in the casino. Those chats are quite interesting and could keep a gambler busy for a reasonable period of time. We are expected to get what other online platforms would offer us in real sense. There've never been a time when online communication would be fun and better than physically talking and having fun with people.

A gambler that wants to discuss with other players, should visit the local casino near him and hold some conversation. Moreover, we all have friends that gamble. Depending on the online gamblers, may not be satisfactory enough for you. Personally, holding some gathering with other online gambler close-by could be a bit more fun than what we've got online. However, people are getting too attached to online activities compared to offline activities, which I think some day will have a diminishing return. Online communication in some sense is quite boring especially when the banters are not there or some thrilling stuffs. Online gamblers should look for fun near them in their environment or society. Neglecting that aspect of life may not be proper for a person who is into an emotional and mental intensive game like gambling.
1137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe in gambling experts predictions? on: January 16, 2024, 12:22:29 PM
Experts, pundits and analyst based their prediction on past records and present form of the team their a
prediction is never a  guarantee of 100% sure game, I used to read Lawro predictions a former and  renowned bbcsport Analyst despite his expertise in that field yet he is not 100% accurate same with the present bbcsport Analyst Sutton I don't rely on their pick to place a bet rather I combined their analysis with other Analyst predictions and make selections, though losses are inevitable in gambling however betting with the amount of money you can afford to lose would reduce the risk while two to three consecutive wins would cover all the losses with  extra profit.

History plays a vital role in the current result of any football game. But it doesn't determine the winner of the game. When two teams are in the pitch, lots of things changes. And the players need to adjust based on the strategies of their opponent, if it's not what they expected. A team can change its formation in pitch, it's not against the rule of football. They can decide to go all attack, thereby destabilizing the formation and tactics of their opponent, and leaving them to defend. So, these change of tactics and strategies, the players and coaches can't predict. It only begins to occur once the game starts. That's why the first half game is always hard to predict. People have trust that they'll be goals during the second half of the game. Because the first half can't be predicted, experts can't help it.

In a situation where a big team is scored by a small team during the first half, and the second half the smaller team decides to maintain all defense the big team may lose out in the game. The mistake of hoping on the big team to win always isn't proper, that doesn't determine good prediction. Sports is predictable, and sometimes these experts would be correct. Yet in gambling is not meant to be same for everybody who predicts games. Sometimes we lose or win. Trusting on the prediction of expert is at the risk of the gambler. And he's to take every responsibility. Whether win or lose. When a gambler begins to feel less of himself and relies on the ideas of an expert, he may not be able to control his emotions and make good prediction, when needed.

1138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice when you are going a bit far in gaming and betting on: January 16, 2024, 12:04:28 PM

I don't think gambling is responsible for changing the player's mind, money did. As human we tend to spend higher when we have bigger money in the bank account. It's rare to find a billionaire who would be comfortable staying in the slums. Same applies to every aspect of life, as gamblers we may have drafted the amount of money to wager per game, but due to an unexpected win the gambler can easily increase his budget. To control this the gambler doesn't need to have access to the money. However, with a good self-control the person may handle the wins without adding any extra money to his designated wagering amount. Moreover, if the player is influenced by alcohol, he'd have a hard time with minimizing his gambling costs. Gambling with our self in control, not having any other substances added to the brain, is quite a better advice to share within the gambling community.

Partly when we are looking for ways to do things better in a casino I always come to the conclusion that I hardly want to reach much, and I have seen some in the forum who have achieved this, of course not for millionaire figures but figures that are resetable for any player in the world, in this order of things things can turn out in our Favor when we know how to face them , for those Reasons we must be very good at managing money for casinos and for any environment that has to do with platforms where money is Introduced , for this reason when we are inside, self-Control must be something unique, we cannot go looking for any type of event where it leaves us or decapitalizes us, I always look for places to have fun, but yes, I have a Balance to spend it, I see it as a Service , and if I earn money, it's fine.

I agree with that, I also agree with that everyone must want the best for themselves but the best is not done excessively as in gambling, because by gambling excessively it will not produce the best but can produce something bad such as losses because of the loss of a large amount of money and also we should be able to manage our finances well not spending a lot of money on gamblings because it is not a good, thing by this it is bound to wise gambling because peoples who gamble wisely I think they will not do somethings like this.

It's true, if we know how to deal with everything well then the possibility is that we can make a profit even if it's not much,  because many people don't deal with it well and also respond wrongly so that it is not profitable for them but it is detrimental to themselves. not only is it a unique thing but I think it really needs to be set in every time we gamble, because then we can do gambling properly. like having limits, including budget and time. and also gambling is a place to have fun, but it requires money to be able to do it, and the money used must be considered lost, like paying for a movie ticket.

Exactly the money spent isn't meant to be seen as an investment. Most gamblers would think that the money, they've spent in gambling is accumulating such that one day they'll win it back. It's a wrong perspective as a gambler. Expecting money while gambling isn't a better means of gambling, it affects the way the gambler spends money. Hence, it's crucial for a gambler to accept, he's out there for fun and shouldn't get sad over how much he will spend or win in the process. The win can be used to continue gambling or withdrawn for other utilities that interests the gambler. However, in terms of money, as gamblers controlling a big amount of money, requires a strong will power. And not every gambler is able to possess such energies needed to control a huge win. That's why a good number of jackpot winners ended up going broke.

I've only seen few businessmen who utilized their big wins properly in helping their business grow and forfeiting gambling activities. That could be because of the amount of self-control they've got in running a business and making investments. Aside that, other big winners see it a hassle to hold the money for a long period, without lavishing it back on gambling or other rich lifestyles. That has nothing to do with the personality of the player, he's only living a life that suits his fantasies. Hence the brain is controlling him to spend based on those things he feels is interesting. In a nutshell a gambler needs to follow same routines as when they had low budget to when there is a high budget. Human behavior changes in both ways. Man can't think similarly like he used to when he had not much money, compared to when he's got a whooping amount of money. That's why the gambler also need to master self-control as a high roller.
1139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: January 16, 2024, 11:43:49 AM
Gamblers learn faster with experience. Working closely with the experience players helps if they hang out in same casino with the newbie. It's not only about an online reading and research. I think the newbie needs to learn from his personal experiences, when not opportune to spend time with a professional gambler. Staying watchful and cautious of the online instructions and the real experience could help the gambler to escape multiple addictive challenges that walks with gambling. Learning through it and becoming experienced such that gravity doesn't pull the player strongly to gamble irresponsibly. They'll undergo, indeed, some thick and thins till they begin to perfect it. Some days could feel harder than the other, but staying true and being a good citizen, the player would be able to bypass those addictive eras and see gambling for it's truly doing to the society and gamblers.
Talking to expert gamblers in a casino is a goldmine. Online reading lacks the excitement, atmosphere, and live techniques. In this interactive classroom, every game is a lesson and every player may teach.

I's different to witness than to participate, making your own decisions, taking risks, and sometimes learning the hard way. This hands-on approach creates resilience and game knowledge customised to you. Indeed, attention is essential. Maturity in gambling is staying in control, acknowledging dangers, and knowing when to back off.

Though the trip has ups and downs, its all part of the learning curve. Embracing both experienced players' advice and own experience helps make a responsible gambler. It's about enjoying the game, learning from every hand, and remembering that gambling should be pleasant and controlled

The newbies who learn from experts and tend to try out their own ways would someday get to a professional level of gambling. Because they'll easily adapt to the strategies of those experts on how to deal with losses, bankroll management, self-control etc. Not all of them have similar strategies. Hence a gambler needs to be vast and research further to have other perspectives of gambling and how it works. So, just relying on the information we see online won't be validated as a means of learning gambling strategies. The gambler also needs to follow up with gambling discussions with other gamblers, based on the results and outcome they encounter while gambling. Although the process may seem difficult to accomplish, but we all need time to adjust towards a positive aspect of life experiences.

Those professionals also invested time, so would the newbie before he understands the processes being used by professionals to minimize their losses. Some people can fasten their learning capabilities by taking their tutorials so serious. And implementing them immediately to at least begin to master the process. Gamblers who are fond of garnering information on gambling but fail to try it wouldn't learn like those who observe the reactions that follows if they try a specific idea. That's why the online reading technique isn't recommended for newbies who actually wants to learn how to be a successful gambler. Because even though the gambler is able to implement those advise, he may not be able to response positively to the result, when he's not under the watch of somebody else who can calm his nerves. Such is mainly the work of an expert to a newbie. In this context.
1140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you pay attention on other people bet and it amount, and does it affect you? on: January 16, 2024, 11:24:58 AM
It makes no difference since the players is on a whole unique journey. Allowing other players wins to affect my decisions or strategies wouldn't be of a help to the results I'd get while gambling. I view those score boards in casino, and the amount of money other gamblers win is quite fascinating. But, while gambling, I'd want to earn like that, yet it's not possible to achieve immediately. The gamblers may have not won, if they didn't gamble for a long period and kept trying. However, it looks easier said, than done. Reading Op's narratives one would think gambling can easily be won like the people Op illustrated in his words. It's a random winning day for everyone. When we win, people would want to do like us, but it won't work out for them, as their strategies may not correspond with ours.

When testing a strategy, I keep to it until the method works out. Like in the example of one player on Op's thread, who lost 1k then tried again and won 5k. Such strategy seems risky for most gamblers, but they fail to understand why their next game is most likely to be positive if they tried the same strategy that didn't get them a win. Moreover, it depends on the game, and how players perceive the gambling niche. The only important aspect of paying attention to other people's game should be as a form of motivation. The gambler can only see those winnings as a catalyst to help his gambling journey. But being vulnerable to the result of others, could control the action of the gambler to make mistakes. I think it's better not to feel affected by those results, as it may not worth the stress of wondering how other gamblers end up winning big. Focusing on our own strategy with same effort will help us make better predictions.
