So what about a thread of most profitable / best working pool to use with our Gridseeds?

what's working the best for you

I like http://xpool.net/

  Grin

Thanks, but P2P you need +1200MH to work good if I'm correct, I dont have yet enough MH :p

doge.wannamine.com works great!
Also, I'm trying out www.blackcoinpool.com
and I now belong to PMB Mining - http://pbmining.com?ref=btcmkr
It's a great place to put your btc to work making good money instead of just sitting doing nothing!
Good luck!

You could have used my ref link hehe

BC I'm a long time follower of that coin, tried the pool Friday but it was not a good payout, they said they made it better, let me know
cause Friday I rented a rig with 5MH and got paid less than 100BC
1123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: April 08, 2014, 09:54:41 PM
Is it the beginning of a dump ?

No....it is someone or a group preventing BlackCoin from breaking 10,000. This happens every time we get this high. Why would someone sell for 9500 sat when you know BC is selling for 10,000+ on every other exchange.

definitely looked shady - it wasn't a gradual drop to 9500 either - mintpal was selling at 9900+ and the instead of asking to sell at 9850 or something it immediately listed in large numbers for a few hundred sats lower than it needed to.

Well the other exchanges have so little volume it can easily be manipulated.

Yes but I literally watched someone put a sell order in for nearly 500 sat less than the current ask. Why would anyone do that? Then it was followed by another low sell order...that is NOT a dump but an intentional suppression tactic.

Yes they want to push it down, so they can repeat the process again. they dont care to loose a bit selling lower, they want to push the price down,
so that they can buy low again. Rince and repeat

Anyone know a place to get replacement thermal pads From?

Ebay for sure.

I use coinwarz, regardless of GPU/GSD.

Yes I do to, but coins there change so often, like you can check every 30 minutes and an other coin will be on top ^^

Hard to decide wich one to step into sometimes

What does that mean ? Is it time to retire from BC ?
At what price you recommend to retire ?

Hes saying were going to 20k.

"Hold Firm" could not be more clear = HOLD

What will happen when the ASIC's will kick in on the multipool? Cheesy The amount of buying power would be massive.....

asic's wont be a big factor for at least a few months...

exactly, and then it's also uncertain that they will be released on time anyway

someone transfor this one into a BC parody that would say all the shitcoins are gone due to BC heheh

Don't kid yourself that BC has - or will ever have - anything approaching the network effect that Bitcoin or litecoin do.

On which Law do you refer?

The law that says it's easier to gain "network effect" when there's 2 competitors than when there's 2000.

I don't see 2000. The only "competitors" I see are the 18 positions ahead of us on coinmarketcap.com (including NXT). That's all.

Really folks. A quick look at history will show that ALL of the many car manufacturers after Ford, General Motors, and Chrysler just couldn't survive. The Big three had all the 'network effect' and nobody other than them could make and sell a new car. I read that the Japanese tried, but they failed miserably. Take a look outside today and you will not see a single Japanese car. Anywhere. Even in Japan. The Germans had a couple good ideas too, but they all failed. In fact (thank god) the main reason they lost the war was that they couldn't make cars well enough, or sell them to anyone.
Wink

Very nice analogy. Love it  Smiley
edit: and Koreans failed as well.

Yeah you're right about those Koreans. They tried and failed with cars, and then they tried to make cell phones instead, but nobody bought those either. Really, after Motorola and Nokia...there just was no possibility.

So for you KIA is a faillure? LOL they have a very big market in Europe and the only ones offering 7 years warranty

That one works too, but no need for any expensive one, first price non conductive/capacitive will do. It's not like its a monster GPU that gets to 90 degrees  Grin

*bump* So much talk of thermal paste and still no one here can recommend one? (??)

p.s. sorry to bump. Smiley

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835100007

Arctic MX4.

Thanks but we have been advised not to use Arctic Silver @ https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=519112.msg6027770#msg6027770 or is the one you are inking to different somehow?

Any paste will do, as long as it is non conductive. So nothing with "silver" "metal" etc..

Yes well that brings us full circle back to my original problem: every paste I see says that it is "conductive" - so I'm asking if someone can show me a non-conductive paste that is suitable to use in the gridseeds.

Hi, can someone post payouts of the multipool? How many blackcoins can you get per mhash per day?

http://poolpicker.eu/

I can't understand why BC pool is on top.

I had 5 MH on the pool for 12 hours on Friday and I got paid only 85BC no way it's profitable must be missing something

A lot has changed between Friday and Today (Tuesday). The pool is getting more efficient each day.

Ok will give it another try  Wink

Yeah cause I just opened a gridseed and man those SMD are tiny  Shocked

I've soldered before small things but this I'm going to pass it to a local shop it's too smal for me  Grin don't have the appropriate tools for this
1137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GridSeed 5-chip USB miner voltage mod on: April 08, 2014, 12:17:59 AM
I sure wish you had a more high rez picture there Wolfey so I could see exactly what you've done.  I blowed it up in Photoshop but it's blotchy.  Nice work nonetheless.

I wish I could see exactly where you soldered the axial resistor.  Any guide for this particular volt mod?  I've been all over this thread ... if I need to re-read, what, 26 pages or so, tell me to.  lol

It looks like you soldered from which point I'm not sure, to one of those 3 pads.

From this image I think it seems pretty clear.

one part of the resistor is on the top little round dot ( there are two little dots ) and the other part of the resistor is soldered on the inward

of the smd connexion point of the board.

: <- top point  . .   -> right one

don't know if you got it like this^^
1138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [GUIDE] GridSeed Miner Support/Tuning on: April 07, 2014, 10:11:21 PM
Now 800 doesn't work and only 700 is working... 750 is giving me problems getting shares accepted

Do I have defective units??

1a. Use BFGminer 3.99 with Gridseed support for Windows on 1 or all your miners.
1b. Scrypt only at 800.
2. Let it run on a pool that does not switch coins. Run for at least 1 hour then look at the Hardware errors (HW). In the Manage Devices, you can see which chip on which miner is giving you the hardware errors. Make note of each miner's ID and Chip ID that has the errors. Stop BFGminer and reset your miners for a few seconds (unplug and power off). Turn them all back on and reconnect.
3. Restart BFGminer 3.99 with 25 steps lower (in the first test of 800 minus 25 would be 775 for the second test so on and so forth until no HW errors exist).
4. Run for at least an hour (same pool as before) and make note of each device and any Hardware errors on which chips (if any).

Repeat steps 2, 3 and 4 until you have no errors on any chips on any device. You should now have a detailed list of your max settings for each unit you have. You can then run CGminer with each individual unit's max setting.
You may be able to do the diagnostic with CGminer also but I've only worked with BFGminer since day 1 of mining.

I have the hardware ID on each miner so I know which one is which rather than by com ports.
Also make sure the USB plugs are snug and flush on both the miners and hub/interface. If it wiggles around in the port, you can bet you won't get any good results from it.
And if you do have a defective unit, you now know which one it is and have test results to back up your claim.
FYI, I have some in the 400's and some in the 290's on 850. And not a single HW error after 6 hours of mining.
I plan on looking at the ones in the 290's to see what chips are under performing and disabling them or upping the frequencies on those to see if it jolts it back to where it should be.

BFGminer 3.99 is noted to be a real pain in the A at the moment, very unstable..

Hi, I just want to point out potcoin is not a shitcoin. I also don't think mintcoin is necessarily a super shitcoin either but I understand there simply must be a place reserved for them in the shitcoin dumpster =P

Really, I think this is hilarious, but I should point out that if you think potcoin is a shitcoin you may not have done very much research on it. I am not hugely invested in potcoin, I am not a super huge fan of some of the decisions made by the devs, and I hold roughly 100x more bc than POT but... I still don't think potcoin should be labeled a shitcoin. There is actually some big money behind potcoin, and no I am not talking about the marijuana industry. I bet the potcoin dumpster is not going to gather very many coins.

P.S. Just because a coin is on coinwarz doesn't mean it's a shitcoin =P

I actually discovered POT as well, and I confirm it's indeed not a bad coin at all
