1121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gospel Preachers: Is Bitcoin the Last Currency in the World? on: June 29, 2023, 03:40:40 PM
That is a far reach. I understand the desire to connect things happening now to supernatural machinations but Bitcoin is just a decentralized currency created by an anonymous person. There is no more mystic beyond that.

1122  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Not Another Merit Question. Please Hear Me Out on: June 28, 2023, 09:12:21 PM
The way I see it, discussing merits in general is frowned upon, it just so happens that newbies are the ones who engage in it more often (while having earned very little of it) making them look like the target.

Also it is one thing to have a desire to rank up and pursue a target in the forum and it is another thing to try to use merit discussions as bait for other members to give you some of their smerits.

1123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino on a cruise ship? on: June 28, 2023, 09:07:35 PM
I do not have first hand experience but I can imagine they would try to make the experience as similar as possible to what their players are used to on land. If there are any changes, they would not be too obvious for everyone to see.

There expectedly will be a higher overhead cost to cover the cost of renting a spot on a cruise ship. Paying the workers to abandon all they have on their hands and their cost of accommodation would also raise the cost of operation which has to be accounted for one way or the other.

1124  Other / Meta / Re: Who is online? on: June 28, 2023, 09:00:58 PM
You do not do anything to see who is online or offline. It all depends on if the feature is enabled or not by the user. Yours is disabled so others are not notified when you are online on the forum and when you are offline.

I did some search and found this link. But the link is giving a feedback that the function is disabled.
Any link to user related stats has been disabled on the forum.

1125  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 28, 2023, 08:51:35 PM
Declan Rice deal has been agreed in principle between WestHam and Arsenal. The next couple of hours would be crucial for the deal to be finalized but it is looking like it is going to go through with Manchester City pulling out of the bid.
WestHam would have favored a bidding war between both clubs and also any of the other suitors but he is more crucial to Arsenal and would get more playing time there, so I would assume the player favors the Emirates.

If the deal gets completed. They have signed a winger/attacker and a holding midfielder both who have experience of playing in the league and do not need to adapt to the system.

1126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: June 26, 2023, 06:50:27 PM
Tuchel shouldn't be the one to blame here as a result. It was Bayern Munich officials' fault. After that we saw Kahn and Salihamidzic both got sacked. Now Tuchel can comfortably prepare his players for new season to be competitive in the Bundesliga and Champions League both.
The sack of Oliver Kahn and Hasan Salihamidzic at the end of last season shows that they recognize the coach is not to blame for the unfavorable end to the season but it was as a result of bad decisions made by the CEO and sporting director.

Now there is so much pressure of Tuchel to deliver as we anticipate the start of next season and it would be difficult to find excuses for him if the season does not go as planned. They have not had a very strong transfer window and have an ageing squad which might be exploited next season except they make some changes now.

* Totally Risk Free , You Don't lose A Dime - THAT'S WHAT WE ARE FAMOUS FOR.
My advice is to avoid these platform. Promising no losses is a too good to be true offer and suggests that this is a sort of scam service.

1128  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is bitcoin a legal tender or not. Why? on: June 25, 2023, 06:56:16 PM
Being used for exchange does not make a currency a legal tender. Anything of value can be exchanged for another thing or product of value which does not make it a legal tender.

Bitcoin is a legal tender in world but it meant for the individual countries to accept it. If Bitcoin is not a legal tender El Salvador and Central African Republic wouldn't adopted it in the individual countries.
That is not how it works. It is governments that choose what currency to make legal tenders and not choosing from a pool of potential legal tenders which they should legalize.

1129  Other / Meta / Re: Easiest way I can remove Wasabi recommendations from all of my past posts? on: June 23, 2023, 06:18:20 AM
Newbies won't really visit multiple pages in old threads. And I rarely find quoted posts also indexed by google search.
Forum search option indexes quoted posts just as regular posts but they would be attributed to the user who quoted them until you click on the message.
If the OP edits all posts they made it would still be on the different archives made by users but not through a google search.

1130  Other / Meta / Re: Another birthday - how about an octogenarian club here? on: June 23, 2023, 06:05:44 AM
Happy belated birthday to one of the old heads we still have on bitcointalk. Bitcoin is the currency of the future and many around your age are still stuck on the traditional systems, even people my age too. It is an inspiration that at you were able to recognize the potential of digital assets when you were in your late sixties.

So where do you think the price of Bitcoin will be when I'm a nonagenarian. There will be 3 halvings before that happens, so the price should be stratospheric.
Just under a million $.

1131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I strongly suspect a sinister move here. You? on: June 22, 2023, 08:52:32 PM
Bitcoin is decentralized, no one can fully regulate it even the government.
It can be fully regulated if you are not in full control of your assets.
If you do not own the private keys to the wallet that holds your bitcoin then you are reliant on them to gain access and are being fully regulated by that body. If that exchange is fully compliant with the government, they can regulate how you use your asset.

1132  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Investors Confidence in Bitcoin💪 on: June 22, 2023, 08:39:48 PM
Since then, I started learning about Bitcoin from that elder brother and got the opportunity to learn more details from the forum by logging into Bitcoitalk with his ID.
You can use the forum as a guest and learn as much as you want to without having to log into someone else's account. You should also not encourage anyone to use your personal account but instead create one for them or let them access it as a guest.

Hopefully during the Bitcoin Halving of 2024, Bitcoin will break all previous records and reach a peak price.

What is your opinion on this?
We are all hopefuls here but we do not have any instant expectations of the price. All you need is patience to hold without panic.

1133  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Rural vs Urban Awareness? on: June 22, 2023, 08:28:32 PM
I discovered many rural areas in this countries still find it difficult differentiating Bitcoin from Ponzi schemes. In this case will sensitising people in this areas be a vain adventure following their  mindset.
Misrepresenting Bitcoin is not peculiar to any region or continent. There have been top investors in the traditional finance space that have talked down on bitcoin and showed to have little knowledge of it and there are people in the most remote areas who have good knowledge of how it works.

Sensitizing people about an investment is not a popular strategy, sort of like going to market real estate investment or some other form of investment.

1134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why has Bitcoin suddenly jumped above $30,000? - 06/21/23 on: June 21, 2023, 09:06:06 PM
It looks like this has something to do with the fact that more companies (big names) are applying for Bitcoin ETFs (Invesco, and Wisdom Tree).
I usually overlook news about ETFs and the likes cause they are not directly related to Bitcoin, so it comes as a surprise that it could possibly be the reason that the price jumped by over 6% in the space of a few hours.

Is this a sustainable price increases or just due to excitements which can fade away after a while?

1135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and cash are more important than ever. on: June 21, 2023, 02:38:50 PM
There is some background to my concern. I believe that Bitcoin was created by the Central Banks as an experiment, and the 30 minute lag for payment confirmation, together with the total of 21 million coins createdwith the foundation block, were intended to ensure that Bitcoin was unsuitable to become a global currency for daily use.
"The central banks" is very vague, referring to no one in particular. If collection of banks from different countries wanted to create something like bitcoin they would not go about it the way satoshi did, it would be more the way CBDCs went but with no specific bank backing it.

I do not also wait 30 minutes before transaction confirmation when i use medium priority fees.

1136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 18, 2023, 10:04:47 AM
Chelsea rumours are many but when you see what is happening, you have the feeling that they aren't serious. I wonder when they will start recruiting and improving the team.
The current transfer market is super crazy, being serious in this market means spending chunks of money on overpriced players. Every club has to bid wisely and not be desperate, Chelsea are learning from their mistakes in the last window where they spent huge amounts to get Mudyrk, Enzo and to loan Felix with no result in the end.

The Arsenal-City rivalry for Declan Rice shows how much a player can be overpriced. Brighton would also be looking to cash out big with Caicedo this window as he has been promised he would move.

1137  Economy / Gambling / Re: See top players play history on - nftonspin.com on: June 18, 2023, 09:49:07 AM
The fun doesn't stop here! We're gearing up to introduce a new feature that will revolutionize your gaming experience. Soon, you will have the chance to view an entire gameplay of your fellow gamers. Study their moves, understand their strategies, and elevate your gameplay. 🕹️
So you will be leveraging the skills of your top players to sell the platform as a sort of learning website where you cannot only play but learn to play. Would there be any benefit for the skilled players whose strategies you will be putting on display?
Also there should be clear terms regarding this so anyone signing up is aware that they can potentially have their strategies on public display.

1138  Economy / Speculation / Re: This year is dumping ground for bitcoin on: June 16, 2023, 06:30:47 AM
Above $25,000 is a dumping ground? Huh

Zoom out of the charts a little and realize that this is a perfectly normal dip in the market cycle, does not have anything to do with conspiracy theories.

but my advise is to reduce your buying strategies and watch.
My advice; buy while the prices are low.

1139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Nations League final four ⚽ on: June 15, 2023, 08:19:18 PM
72' minutes on the clock and it is still a draw between both European Giants. The game is very tight at the moment and both teams have made some changes to try and tip the game in their favor and claim the winner before the end of regular time.

We could very well be in for a much longer night if the game remains as balanced as it is now.

1140  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin block halving a criteria for Bitcoin survival on: June 15, 2023, 08:10:16 PM
But in the hand of a centralize group? Bitcoin mining grows more expensive so is the Bitcoin mined per block reduce every four years
This I believe would continue increasing centralization
Which is somehow different from the goal of decentralization
Bitcoin mining does not grow expensive due to centralization of mining hashrate except they try to manipulate the network. What makes mining more expensive is the introduction of more sophisticated mining gear.
The reduction in the number of bitcoins introduces every four years is independent of what happens in the mining sector.

You said interesting changes take collaboration, does that mean there's like a group that focuses on Bitcoin core developments?
BitcoinCore[1] consists of group of developers who can suggest changes or commits on the bitcoin network and that would be voted on whether to be implemented.
