1121  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't expect everyone to embrace Bitcoin on: July 19, 2023, 02:56:42 PM
Bitcoiners have the opportunity to stand for something and that's eliminating the need for central authorities such as the government and banks and rather than forcing everyone to confirm their beliefs, it's better to find an audience worth serving. What's your take, guys?

Forcing people to be part of Bitcoin makes you the same thing we're trying to get away from. The government and other centralized organizations force people into doing specific things even if it's not necessary. You can't send money direct to another country without a third party, you can use a bank account without paying unnecessary charges, and many other things we are forced to do.

These are all the things Bitcoin stands against, so if people begin to force people into using Bitcoin, how is it any different?
I don't see a point in convincing people about Bitcoin. Before anybody has to learn about Bitcoin, they have to have an open mind. If the person doesn't have an open mind, there's no point forcing him to have or use Bitcoin.
1122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 18, 2023, 09:36:32 PM
Considering the remaining contract period of Harry Kane, this transfer fee means that Tottenham is not willing to sell him. It is meaningless to ask for 100 million pounds for a football player who has 1 year left. Harry Kane wants to go, but legally there's nothing he can do if the team doesn't send him. He can join Bayern for free by waiting a year.
But the problem is, will Bayern Munich still want to accept Harry Kane after next season is over? Because Bayern Munich really needs a player like Harry Kane next season with his contract from now on. Because after next season is over, of course there will be more other options for all teams in terms of getting players who are much younger and not bad in performance. Maybe this is what made Harry Kane really want to move from now on to Bayern Munich.

If Harry Kane does not leave this summer, the bigger losers will be Tottenham. I don't think they will be able to convince him to sign a contract extension so that means he will definitely be leaving for free next summer.

As for Bayern, they still believe they can sign Kane and they're going all out for him. There is still time in the transfer window, if they see that it won't be able for them to sign Kane this season they'll look else where for a striker. With the kind of money they offered for Kane they will get a pretty good striker.
I would really like Harry Kane to leave for Bayern but staying one more season at Tottenham won't kill him. So if the deal doesn't work he can remain at Tottenham.
1123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: July 18, 2023, 09:09:03 PM
Last season Napoli showed from the start of the season that they would be the leaders because they didn't lose 15 games in a row. Even then it was clear that the other clubs would not be able to get to the top. Of course, next season everything should change after the leave of a key player and the change of the coach. The competition will probably be high.

I would be surprised if there is no strong competition in the Serie A next season. All the clubs are reinforcing in their own way and what makes it spectacular is that no team looks ridiculously higher than the other in terms of squad quality. I think the Serie A is the only league that you can't guess two teams that will win the league next season and be 90% correct.
Juventus, Roma, Napoli, Ac Milan, Inter Milan all look like teams that are ready to fight for the league.
The top of the league might not be like it was last season where Napoli ran away with the league. If all the teams are in good form from the beginning of the season then it's going be very competitive. Last season Napoli was the only team that was in that kind of form from the beginning of the season.
1124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: July 18, 2023, 08:34:03 PM
Everyone keeps talking about how Pep took a big club and made it just bigger and he never managed a bad team and all that. That's the only criticism that I have seen about him, but there are two points that are marginally wrong and I believe City will get it again. First of all, he always refreshes his squads, he does sell some players, and puts a bit of money on top of it and gets new ones, sure he spent some serious money at times, but he is not the manager who spent the most money, yet still managed to get the most cups.

On the other hand, there are plenty of big clubs that fail to win, does that make them suck? Like Real won league and UCL last season, but lost it this season, does that make Ancelotti suck? Aside from that, if you are as good as Pep, why manage some low level team? Of course you will manage big clubs, best clubs require best managers.

It's actually dumb for people to say Pep should manage a small team before he can be regarded as a great coach. That's like saying Messi should have played for Stoke City at the peak of his career.
Pep is one of the best coaches alive (the best for me) so it's only normal that he should coach the best clubs.

Also saying he's a cheque book manager is also dumb. Manchester United and Liverpool ad spend pretty much and they have not won't as much as Man City since Pep took over. Chelsea have spent but they have nothing to show for it recently.
Every big club in Europe spends a lot of money on recruiting players so there's no point saying Man City is winning only because they sign players.
1125  Economy / Economics / Re: Should I Use Emergency funds or Sell my Assets ? on: July 17, 2023, 02:09:18 PM
You have an emergency fund and times like this are the reasons you have that kind of funds. You properties you want to sell are most likely assets that can generate money for you so I wouldn't advice you to sell them except the cost of operation or maintaining it is higher than the profit it brings.
And also, it is not advisible to save your money in fiat. With the rate of inflation, your saving will lose value over time.

Are you holding fiat? Do you not know that if you are holding fiat, it is like your government are scamming you, although it is not a scam, but it is a means to lose money as your fiat money lose value and unable to buy what you can use it to buy before.

Inflation doesn't only affect his savings but it also increases the price of goods. When commodities become expensive it affects the cost of production and reduces sales in his business thereby placing him in a difficult position.
It is good advice that he should not save his money in his local currency, but I'm afraid that would not shield him from inflation.
1126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People Are Not Nerdy Enough on: July 17, 2023, 01:03:34 PM
It's going to take time. You don't expect people to know, understand and believe in Bitcoin overnight. I don't have any quarrel with people who don't know or understand Bitcoin. My problem is with people who understand it and are still against it. But I can understand that everybody has his own opinion.

Innovations like Bitcoin takes time to be adopted. Imagine when paper money was introduced. Did it get adopted world wide in 10 years? I believe it must have been more than that because it was a new invention that they really didn't understand how it works.
I imagine that there where people that asked how is a certain paper different from another paper.

About 62% of the world population use the internet, so how do you think the use of Bitcoin will be. A lot of people are very skeptical of things like this, probably because they've been scammed before, so you can't blame them, they just lack the understanding.
1127  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Weak state capacity & underdevelopment in Africa: on: July 15, 2023, 09:38:56 PM
I'm tired of people blaming the underdevelopment of Africa on colonization. For Christ sake, African countries were not the only countries that were colonized. USA was colonized, Canada was colonized, Australia was colonized, but all these countries are doing way better than every single African country. Some were even colonized by the same country.

African countries have everything it takes to be great but they have refused to. The leaders are just greedy and selfish. There are natural resources in Africa but they are mismanagement.
External people can't even into a country to exploit the country's resources if the leaders were not greedy.
1128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This is not Practical on: July 15, 2023, 07:10:20 PM
]"Money that you can afford to lose" does not mean money that has no real use or money that won't be missed it you lost it. That term means money that will not wreck you in any way when you use it to bet. You will definitely not happy you lost money but it doesn't mean you'll be with nothing.

It depends on how much you have. $2k dollars is what some people might be able to afford to lose, while for others it may $30.
Imagine making $2000 a week and using the whole 2k on gambling. That's not money you can afford to lose. But if you lose $500 on gambling, that may be money you can afford to lose, depending on your needs.

1129  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you prefer to own a luxury watch or invest in bitcoin or other assets? on: July 15, 2023, 02:34:04 PM
How about I diversify?
Luxurious wristwatches can be assets too. Most of them are gold and buying them is like investing in gold. Most celebrities buy a lot of gold necklaces, rings, writs watches. These are investment too but most people do not know.

So if you can afford an original gold wristwatch then you will most likely have enough to invest in Bitcoin and other assets.
It's not wise to invest only on one assets, so if you have the money diversify into other assets like too like real estate, stock and so on.
1130  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cz or the Sec who would you support? on: July 15, 2023, 02:16:03 PM
Funny how you don't want to know who is wrong in the matter or not.
It doesn't matter what Binance adds to the crypto community, if they're guilty they gotta be punished. We can't just pick sides like that.
We know how the government wants to control everything and all but if you look at it from a different perspective, the SEC is just doing its job. It's their job to make sure the activities of Binance are in line with the regulations.
So for me, I'll support whoever is right and since I don't know the full details of the case, I just have to wait and see how things unfold. Binance is not a small company that can be bullied, so I expect them to fight it well.
1131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 14, 2023, 09:51:38 PM
Bayern Munich offered €80m with add-ons the last as far as I know. Levy shouldn't resist for getting at least €100m. I think they can find a middle way at around €90m. Levy must be aware of the serious situation that they will lose him for free certainly.

Tottenham don't need to depend on Kane. They can sign an average level but good scorer also. It is all about improving their team effort be more successful at the end of the day.

Tottenham without Kane are just be on the level of Aston Villa. Take nothing away from the other players in the team but Kane is what has made that team a top team in the premier league for a long time.
The best option for Spurs is to sell Kane for around €90m and use that money to get another world class striker. They can't get anybody as good as Kane or better but they can get a good striker that can do what Kane does to an extent. If Spurs don't sell Kane and they lose him for free next season, it would be hard for them to get another world class striker because strikers are very expensive.
1132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: July 14, 2023, 09:41:36 PM
Last season, Newcastle performed very consistently so they were able to finish in the top four of the EPL league and enter the Champions League. This is an extraordinary achievement for Newcastle who have been a small team for a long time. For next season, in the domestic league, Newcastle can compete at the top, of course, they also want to fight for the EPL League championship or they will have ambitions to get a trophy in the FA Cup or Carabao Cup. But if the Champions League is as you say, they have been absent from the Champions League for too long, maybe getting past this group phase will be a great achievement for them.

But whatever it is, next season will be Eddie Howe's stage to prove a native English coach can win the league championship trophy after seniors like Sam Allardyce, Alan Pardew, Steve McClaren, Terry Venables, Bobby, and Bryan Robson and Kevin Keegsn were unable. do it.

I have high hopes for Newcastle next season but I don't think they can compete for the EPL title. They will most likely be too four contenders but that's the highest I feel they can achieve in the league. They have the resources to build a league winning team but it won't be done overnight and I respect the project they're building. The kind of players the sign are players that fit into their project.

As for the champions league, the fact that they've been a way from it isn't really a factor to determine how far they'll go. If they have the squad for it and the coach for it then they will go far, but sadly they don't. I don't have any high expectations from them in the champions league.
1133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think at some point government will change its stand and adopt Bitcoin? on: July 14, 2023, 09:21:42 PM
Change is the only constant thing in life.
More governments will still acknowledge Bitcoin but I don't think it's going to be much.  The single fact that Bitcoin is decentralized will discourage a lot of governments from it.
For governments of countries to accept Bitcoin then it has to be less a little less volatile and relatively stable.
Bitcoin will keep convincing skeptical people little by little but it will take time.  Little by little more companies and business will begin to accept bitcoin as a medium of payment.
1134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 13, 2023, 11:00:37 PM

I think PSG are too selfish and possible because their selfishness means they will lose Mbappe next season without getting anything, even though if PSG want to let Mbappe go this season they can get fresh funds to be able to bring in other players.
Sooner or later, Mbappe will definitely leave PSG and start his career with his new team, and I'm sure Mbappe really wants to join the Real Madrid team because it is possible for Mbappe to achieve everything in his football career with the Real Madrid team.
I think PSG are willing to sell Kylian Mbappe this summer because according to news, the club already issued an ultimatum to Mbappe to decide his future whether he wants to leave this summer or accept a new contract. I see this situation as a huge risk on club’s side, they could end up losing Mbappe for free next season if they are not careful. Real Madrid are already waiting patiently and plotting a quick hijack immediately a decision is made by the player to leave PSG.

The mistake PSG made was not seeling Mbappe to Madrid when they were ready two seasons ago. PSG shouldn't have pressured Mbappe into signing a new deal. They had a chance to sell him for 180 million and they blew it, now they will either sell him for less or lose him for free.

The ultimatum given to Mbappe is that it's either he signs a new deal or he'll be sold this summer. PSG are willing to keep if, but they're also ready to sell. Meaning they are not going to try and make him sign another contract. The decision is his.
Madrid on the other hand are not sure if they are ready to pay big money for a guy they can someone get for free next season.
It'd be interesting to see how things unfold.
1135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Understanding Bitcoin's Potential Realistically on: July 13, 2023, 10:52:08 PM
recently, i came across a video on YouTube https://youtu.be/3Rnqst5qCgA where the creator was very optimistic about Bitcoin saving the world from POVERTY, HUNGER, GOVERNMENT, WAR, ECONOMIC CRISIS creating a UTOPIAN WORLD. he even went as far as predicting the year 2048 and 2109, how Bitcoin would be the only dominating currency in the world.
He's delusional, and what's worst is that there are a lot more people like that. Funny enough, he might not believe that himself. He may just be using it to increase the views of his channel. Some that believe this just don't understand what Bitcoin is, they're just following the trend.
I usually don't pay attention to things like that because they're not worth it.

we must also recognize that not all countries will readily embrace Bitcoin regardless of its undisputed qualities.

Even if every single in the world accepts Bitcoin as a legal means of payment, it won't still solve the problems he listed above. Bitcoin is a currency. It's laughable to think that Bitcoin will solve war, economic crisis, poverty, and hunger.

1136  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin according to Satoshi is digital money then why call it investment. on: July 13, 2023, 10:06:48 PM
Bitcoin is a currency first, then an investment. There's no point trying to separate it. Something can be an investment and a currency.

If I decide to buy a large sum of money in euros today for the price it is now and decide to save it for a long period with the hope that the price would appreciate,  that makes the euros in my account an investment, and at the same time, it's still a currency.
Using the Euro as an investment doesn't make it lose its identity as a currency, so Bitcoin should not be different.

Bitcoin doesn't have to be one and not the other. How can something be a currency if it's not a store of value? Gold and fiat are all seen and used as a store of value, currencies, and also investments, the same should be applied to Bitcoin if we want its adoption to be effective.
1137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon musk is for crypto or just for attention to boost Tesla, SpaceX? on: July 13, 2023, 05:36:23 AM
I think Elon Musk can fit in both worlds because we know that Elon is popular in both topics, whether it is crypto or tech company, While Tesla and SpaceX are just a part of Elon Musk's Bigger real-world empire of technologically advance businesses because of that IMO, Elon can be fit anywhere because of his popularity. he is capable to hype anything and put the topic on the mainstream that was the power of popularity and money and Elon Musk has possessed both.

Yeah, I believe Elon is for crypto for both aforementioned reasons.
He is the biggest tech millionaire right now,  all his companies are tech companies that focus on technological innovation in specific areas so it would be a surprise if a person like that who is relatively young is against crypto.
Also, Elon is a billionaire,  these guys don't do anything like this that is not a calculated move.  The way I see it,  it's a win-win situation for him.  He has become very popular in the crypto community and that also puts his companies in the spotlight too.

I believe Elon Musk is going to be at the top for a very long time because he understands the market and trends and knows exactly how to be dynamic to fit in perfectly and remain at the top.
1138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: July 12, 2023, 09:57:38 PM
The new striker duel for Barcelona against Real Madrid starts next year between Vitor Roque and Endrick, both of whom are Brazilian players who were successfully signed in this year's transfer window. If we look at the previous statistics of these two players, of course they are not much different, Vitor Roque is superior in terms of goal productivity and Endrick is superior with a small number of matches. On the other hand, we know the La Liga regulari which allows players to join a club when they reach 18 years of age.

However, for Vitor Roque, he should have been able to join for the 23/24 season but this did not happen because Barcelona was still subject to FFP sanctions so Vitor Roque would start joining Barcelona in the 24/25 season and vice versa for Endrick because he is still 17 years old so he can joined the Real Madrid squad in the 24/25 season. So it is highly anticipated for this Brazilian wonderkid duel, but indeed we will still see them after the next one season is over.

Endricks has been a poor form for a while but I believe it's just temporarily.  He is good and has a lot to learn.  Committing his future to Real Madrid when he won't be joining them soon was a wrong move.  Signing for a club like Real Madrid put a lot of pressure on you even if you don't play  for them yet.
I've seen him okay a couple times and I know he's got it in him.

Victor Roque is also a player I have watched a couple times and I absolutely love him. Barcelona have got a gem in their hands and if handled properly, he could turn out to be a new Suarez for Barcelona.  With Lewandoski most likely leaving soon,  Roque would be front man for Barcelona.
1139  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is justice really blind? on: July 12, 2023, 09:41:26 PM
Actually,  justice ain't blind,  not in this world we live in.  We shouldn't be delusional enough to believe that the court is the last hope of the common man.

But in this instance,  the woman committed a crime.  If she has the right lawyers she might have gone free or with minimal sentence,  hence justice is not blind.
So it just depend on how good your lawyers are.
1140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: risk nothing, you're risking more on: July 12, 2023, 08:27:20 PM
Look on the bright side.
If you had followed the footsteps of your friends maybe you would have had the wrong idea of Bitcoin. You would probably have thought it was a get-rich-quick scheme like many people think,  and that would have made you lose so much money and then you'll conclude that Bitcoin was a scam and wash your hands off of it. So don't focus on what could have been, focus on what could be.

In life,  not taking risks is risky. We have to take a risk to reach for what we want. It won't be handed to us. But that doesn't mean we should go about taking any kind of risk.  We should take calculated risks. Understand what the stuff is before diving into it.  So as you have decided to take the risk,  make sure you know what you're signing up for.  Learn and get an understanding of Bitcoin.  Don't just focus on making a profit "Learn before you earn".
