Is anyone interested in this bounty

Bitcoin client for I2p network - 114BTC bounty

For a future of I2P and attract more people into I2P this bounty is to create a I2P native Bitcoin client. It should integrate with other client via the I2P network and via gateways to the existant bitcoin network.

Note: To claim the bounty the author must not be paid by other organizations or teams for this work (e.g. GSoC students are not valid).

1122  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Paid for ASIC hosting in the US to avoid EU import VAT. on: December 09, 2012, 12:41:56 AM
Interesting idea...
Trust will probably be the biggest issue...what are the costs and where would you like to locate it?

I'm currently discussing the idea with someone in the states to host mine for about $15 a month for a BFL-SC-Single.  Which cost $1,300 so at 20% VAT then that's $260 or just under eighteen months of $15 a month.  An due to Moore's Law after eighteen months new ASIC then should be twice the hash-rate so you'd probably want to upgrade.  This person has also said he will set it up to Merge-Mine on P2Pool or provide full remote access.  So good for the network health in using P2Pool.  I'm just waiting on a legal letter for piece of mind.
1123  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin Credit Union? on: December 09, 2012, 12:33:15 AM
Yeah a bitcoin credit union would be a good thing but maybe like you said difficult to set up.  So maybe what we need to happen is for a pre existing credit union start excepting bitcoin deposits.  I tried mentioning bitcoin deposits to these guys -  https://lawfulbank.com/Welcome - on there Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Lawful-Bank/255894521116950 - but they basically said bitcoin project is too immature and has to go a long way before there'd consider that.
1124  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: I wish we had this (Universal Wallet) on: December 09, 2012, 12:25:17 AM
Yeah it would be good if Blockchain.info/MyWallet added more coins.  Not a fan of PC based wallets although Electrum is good for creating 'brian wallets'.

I trust a thumb drive stored with the wallet more than web based ones since I control them. But electrum is decent too and armory ...I don't trust brian to protect my wallet.

With Blockchain.info/MyWallet backing your wallet up to your email, Google Drive or Dropbox your wallet is as good as your password discounting keyloggers.  Which is why using a live Linux USB with Electrum installed is as good as your thumb-drive and if you have backed up your seed then perfect as a secure savings account.  Although for a current account then Blockchain.info/MyWallet is as secure as online wallets come.  As they don't hold your coins and its a lot better than downloading the entire blockchain and trusting your hard-drive doesn't fail.

You should create an official donation address for this project.  I know you have a donation address in your forum signature but I think people prefer the thought donating to projects rather then people  Smiley

Hello

I was just wondering what are the other use for bitcoins? aside from cashing them out. Is there an online store or ways you can spend your btc? posting links would be helpful. I know bitmit and memorydealers accept btc.

Bitcoins are good for buying Litecoins

What's the difference with btc and ltc?

1134  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Paid for ASIC hosting in the US to avoid EU import VAT. on: December 02, 2012, 08:46:29 PM
Yeah if you purchase $10,000 of ASICs from the states then that means you need to save $2,000 for the tax man before they arrive.  When that $2,000 could buy you another ASIC and you'd pay the same as the lump sum VAT fee on instalments over two+ years.

1135  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Paid for ASIC hosting in the US to avoid EU import VAT. on: December 02, 2012, 08:23:00 PM
Who's interested?

It would work out the fees all in that you would pay the same amount in hosting fees (all in) over two years in monthly instalments as the 20% import VAT upfront.

1139  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: What do I need to do to mine using TOR? on: November 30, 2012, 01:44:00 AM
You need to use the standard 'official' bitcoin wallet and change its proxy settings to use Tor and then mine using P2Pool as your mining client.
1140  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum - Bitcoin client for the common users (friendly and instant) on: November 29, 2012, 03:00:09 AM
OK so I've installed Electrum and wrote down the seed and sent a coin there.  Now I see the wallet has created more addresses than the five initially created.  If I restore my wallet from seed will it have these newly created extra wallet addresses in it or just the first five wallet initial wallet addresses created first with the wallet on installation?

Also if I create my wallet from seed will it still have the same password from the initial wallet?
