is Ledger's Blue going to be first to market with an ether hard wallet, and are there other options under development?
Thanks.

why has Factom shot up in value in the last 24 hours?
http://bravenewcoin.com/news/factom-securing-blockchain-partnerships-in-china/Things of the sort. With all the stuff going on with bitcoin and the massive price increase in ethereum, I could see how news on anything else could be over shadowed.. Not only that but people are probably also diversifying their portfolios to hedge agains the decline in bitcoins price.. spreading their ether profits into other coins.. Who knows. Many variables. Meanwhile, this little gem is just chugging along ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Edit: i wouldnt say that the article i referenced is the reason for the increase in the past 24 hours. I would attribute that to more of the latter of my claims. Although it does shine light on the fact that they are doing big things as well. Thanks. Is Factom's supply side fixed?

i wonder if the btc mining cartel is now in the market trying to support bitcoin's price?
in the context of the upcoming halving they would be seriously concerned by a run on BTC.
if BTC is sub $300 immediately prior to the halving then $150 will be relatively close to the break-even line.
is this black swan/ perfect storm scenario for bitcoin?

banks will not use bitcoin ever they only use bitcoin tech (face it)
Bitcoin doesn't care if banks use it or not (face it). ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2F2iw8klh.jpg&t=663&c=MM7cw-DZ1cIQSA) they need a new boat.

is it possible to construct a sentiment graph based on the views and opinions expressed by each member about the future prospects of BTC and ETH?
if yes i would then be able to identify the members populating the top 10% positive and bottom 10% negative of the expression range... and ignore them.

on a daily basis on average what percentage of issued bitcoin is used for 'real' transactions to pay for goods and services?
|
|
|
what about OTC transactions? is there a way to quantify the volume?
|
|
|
when people say they are holding XRP i'm curious to get a sense of quantity in view of the price (due to the enormous supply side).

Gentlemen, I'm pretty confident we are the new wealthy elite. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) So selling 1/2 my ETH from .015 to .022 was a bad idea? not necessarily. the price will ease off at some point before then rising again. if you timed it right you might be able to buy back below 0.15 and record a profit. if you sold to recover your stake money then you now have a free 1/2 to play with. if that's the case i would suggest you now hold. you have to have a ticket to win the lottery :-) Agree, holding is good for the other 1/2. The ETH was all from the original crowd funding so things worked out well. =) I moved it back over to BTC. Now I can watch them both moon in the future. yes, it's a smart strategy. i'm the same.

one of the next important developments will be when Ethereum decides and then announces a hard ceiling on the total number of ETH that will ever be made available. originally there was a plan for of 1 billion, but more recently talk of 100 million as the supply limit. if that happens the price will rocket.
"BC: When will the issuance of Ether taper off? VB: We are planning a proof of stake switch early next year, which will greatly reduce issuance, likely to 0-2m per year." https://news.bitcoin.com/vitalik-buterin-ethereums-price-rise-increases-our-sovereignty/thanks. a good read. on 15th feb 2016 total supply was approx. ETH 77,050,000. less than three weeks later supply is approaching ETH 77,500,000. that supply rate is +1/2 million per month. one year from now total supply will be approx. ETH 85 million. I'm hoping Ethereum has its financial projections worked out and will be able to cap supply at 100 million, with a greatly reduced rate of issuance over many years ahead. It would be in Ethereum's best interest to do so imho.

Bitcoin is a pocket calculator, Ethereum is a general purpose computer. - NickSzabo
This. ETH > BTC no discussion. 10$ ain't NOTHING yet people dumbing at these prices will be VERY short-sighted. I agree with you mate. Given the fact that Ethereum's price has been increasing very fast over the last month, I would say that we could reach $20+ in the next days or month. Maybe by the end of 2016, ETH would be at $50+ don't you think? ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) ETH only has to reach around $83 to be worth the same at Bitcoin right now. Similarly, ETH reaching $206 would be the same as BTC reaching $1100. you mean market cap?

if we knew the Kanji Japanese characters used to compound and form 'Satoshi Nakamoto' we might be able to decode the meaning of the name as a starting point to identify the person or persons behind bitcoin. I've always assumed it was a cryptic name puzzle to be solve and is not a real person (although it can exist as a real name in Japan). I've only ever seen to written in Roman script. Has it ever been written in Kanji?
sa = 'little'? to = ? shi = 'new'?
naka = 'middle'? moto = 'origin'?

to crudely dump ETH would undermine this emerging market. those holding significant volumes would be wise to 'manage' the process sensibly over time. why dump once when one can dump many times and make much more money?

lol @ people thinking eth will overtake BTC, I understand your hyped because your holding a few eth but being blinded cheerleaders won't do it.
Eth market is heavily manipulated, people holding over 100k eths alone lol how do you think eth will go past 1B cap while these people are waiting to dump for a massive profit at some point?
It took bitcoin years to even achieve 100$ a coin stop dreaming its too soon to even talk about a stable eth price.
This. And yes, the manipulation goes on....I don't see why people to hype for such basic news (many of which is not even ready yet lol), the speculators are the ones driving this pump. This BTC is all setup for it. It's nice to see it fly and get exposure and people making some money but when bots/whales want out it'll dump way back down, sadly. and bitcoin's price is not manipulated?
